On May 12, 2025, was admitted to The Bellevue Hospital for a left total hip joint replacement, and was discharged on the 13th. My experiences with the *entire* staff of Bellevue Hospital were nothing but positive, from beginning to end--from the greeter I met upon entering, who pointed me in the right direction, all the way to the daytime room nurse (Sara H.), who even wheeled me outside to my waiting ride home. Everyone was excellent. Everyone. The 2nd Floor Surgery nurse (Patty) was professional and friendly, relating that she had had a hip replaced and is glad she did, which was nice to know. My night nurse, the therapy team, and even the room service people (who brought my food so quickly) were all friendly, attentive, and professional. I should have written down the names of everyone who did their jobs so well, to give them the credit they are due. My surgeon, Dr. Dylan Mathews of The Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio, apparently did a great job, since my recovery is way beyond my expectations as I write this.
I can't think of one single aspect of my experience with The Bellevue Hospital that I was not happy with. I don't understand some of these negative reviews. It just goes to show: some people complain about everything.
