Just a really wonderful experience.
We were sat looking at the kitchen with the wood burning fires as a show for us throughout dinner. The place is elegant, sleek, and rustic. Beautiful restaurant.
The coursing and service was wonderful. We had a nice couple of cocktails which were the weakest offering of the night but were still really nice. Our server was so attentive and fantastic, great recommendations, constantly filled our glasses, and so kind in checking on us and explaining the restaurant. Also we loved the clean plates and silverware and high end service touches, very well done
We then moved on to the food. The trout toast and pork belly were both so tasty. The trout toast was complex, salty, and fresh. The pork belly was like a take on a pork chop and applesauce, but totally elevated with perfectly cooked lean pork belly that was both tender and with nice crispy/chewy ends.
For our second we had the crispy duck Cesar which was probably our weakest dish, but still really nice and interesting. Then the strip loin with a crab fritter and mushrooms was to die for. Perfectly cooked steak with a slice of nice juicy interior and also an end slice giving you a nice variety of texture and tenderness. The crab fritter had wonderful flavors of tarragon and burnt lemon.
We finished the dinner with a wonderful carajillo, port, and espresso paired with their cheesecake torte that was very tasty and cutely shaped like the park city mountains. Overall just a wonderful fine dining experience.
We went out to somewhere in Park City the night before and were at disappointed we were willing to give up on the food scene in Park City, but Firewood completely restored our faith! Bravo
