Stopped in for lunch while attending the Ann Arbor Art Fair. I ordered the Mediterranean salad, added chicken and an iced salted caramel cappucino. It was a lite lunch which I enjoyed. My server was very friendly. I saw a man whom I believe was either the manager or owner greeting and speaking to people which was nice.

Google
The service was very friendly, accommodating, and relaxed. The food was also solid, I got the curry bowl and it had good flavor! If you are looking for a quick breakfast/brunch/lunch spot this is a great place! It’s also nice it is open seating - Will be back to try their breakfast items!

We came from the Cleveland area during the 2025 April holiday weekend: we sat in the window area at the bar style seating, and there was a beautiful snow scape painted on the windows outlooking the street. Pictured is what I ordered; the chorizo omelette and sweet potatoes. My husband had a half order of the berry french toast (2 slices) and was very pleased that the strawberries were actually red and juicy (unlike a lot of places where they're pinkish white with no flavor). All in all very happy with the food and the ambiance, will be back on our next trip!

Google
The beet burger was sweet and savory, and served on a nicely toasted bun. I was glad I upgraded to the veggie chips, which are like Terra chips. The service was upbeat and quick, despite the seats being 75% full.

Google
The food was phenomenal. Our family is gluten free. The fluffy French toast was indeed fluffy, not too sweet, topped with fresh, ripe fruit. The omelets were delicious and filling. The potatoes, were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also really enjoyed the gluten free bread. The service was great, very friendly and personable. The atmosphere was cozy, and they had good music.

Google
Cool place to hangout and have breakfast/brunch/lunch. They have quiet a lot of options in terms of food. Taste is great. It's street side parking so might be little difficult to get parking.

Google
While visiting Ann Arbor I went to First Bite for an early lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Nice atmosphere and friendly people, but I especially liked the healthy options. They serve breakfast and lunch. I ordered the beet burger with their house potatoes. Their burger sauce was delicious. . Gluten-free options are available as well. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. They also have a full coffee bar and a selection of smoothies. Highly recommend.

Google
Enjoyed brunch here on a Saturday. It was just two of us so we were seated quickly but larger parties may have to wait quite a bit during busy times. The menu was on the smaller side but suited for everyone. There are lots of options that suit dietary restrictions. The French toast, wrap, and potatoes were phenomenal. The drip coffee was well brewed, not too bitter and not too watery. Service was quick and we got our food in no time.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come in for quite a while, but it usually has such a long wait at around 12. This time I came in Saturday at 10am and didn't have to wait long at all. The service is not the fastest but the waiters are super nice. I ordered the Indian masala omelette and it was really good. However, note that there are a lot of ginger so remember to request without it if you're not a huge fan. The French toast was sooo fluffy and had a strong vanilla flavor that u loved. Highly recommend.

Yelp
What an awesome spot! Finally, making into First Bite after a much anticipated wait. Let's just say, although it was my first time in here, it will not be my last. The food was AMAZINGGGG! The customer service was AWESOMEEE! The atmosphere was very relaxed and cozy. I called ahead to make sure they actually had Gluten-Free options and the guy who answered the phone was delightful. He kept naming off food items from the menu. After the fourth option, I was sold on trying this place out. Parking can be a hassle. There's street parking and lot parking. Either way, you're going to have to walk a bit to get to the restaurant. Also, the restaurant closes at certain times. I highly recommend double-checking the hours before you make your way over. As for the menu, tons of great choices - you cannot go wrong. I tried the veggie omelette and gluten-friendly French toast. OMG!! Each dish was so flavorful, layered, and earthy tasting. The fruit on top of the French toast tasted like actual fruit - sweet, savory, and flavorful. As for the omelette - wowza! It was packed with veggies and oh so delicious cheese! Yumm!! I ordered the mango smoothie which unfortunately I did not get the chance to take a pic of. Order one of those too! So smooth, creamy, and it tastes delicious!!! The waitstaff - amazing! The gentlemen who took my order was very kind, polite, and fun! We ended up having a great little conversation and that's always great to see happy employees. It makes the food taste that much better. Overall, 5-stars for me because the food was healthy, there were plenty of gluten friendly options, parking was good, and the staff was excellent. I'll be back!!

Yelp
Perfect. Flavors, portion, quality, price are simply perfect. This menu is quality everything. Their attention to detail is amazing and well executed. Breakfast and lunch hours only. Small outside seating area. Great cafe interior for all size of parties. They cater and are right downtown. The service is so friendly and seem actually happy you are there. Mediterranean salad (order w dressing on the side and add bacon *chef kiss*) Thai peanut wrap, grilled cheese with bacon, tomato basil soup, avocado toast w poached egg are all my suggestions. So good and consistent. I sure hope they stay around. Check them out and you'll see why.

Yelp
The server was nice but the service was mediocre. For example we ordered pancakes and had to ask for things like butter. Syrup jar was nearly empty. The place was very messy with food strewn all over the floor. The Manager was there and just didn't even bother to bus the tables. Who wants to sit and eat with filth all over the floor? Jus sayin. The menu is ok and food is fairly decent but I think they need to add a basic pancake mix to their menu. The pancake mix they have is a bit off, grainy and didn't satisfy my urge for pancakes. All in all this place aint all that but if you got nowhere else to go.....

Yelp
Everything is perfect about this little place. I ordered a masala omelette and it was sooooo good. Perfect amount of spice, onions tomatoes. The omelette also came with a whole grain bread ( delicious). This is a MUST HAVE. My husband had the banana walnut pancakes ( still thinking about them because they were that good). Portions are huge. I had the chai latte which was pure perfection and my husband had the cappuccino. Overall you can tell they only use clean and organic ingredients. Service was fast and the hostess was super sweet, she checked up on us many times to see if we were okay or if we needed anything else. Very cute decor and they have a white board where you are welcome to write anything. Ps: street parking

Yelp
My son has a dairy allergy we recently discovered so eating out now can be challenging. We found this place while on vacation and called about their menu. They can make dairy free pancakes. They're very aware to food allergies and make sure you're taken care of. The service and food was excellent. Loved the downtown setting. It was a nice little place.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by First Bite for a late lunch this past Sunday afternoon. We were seated shortly after arriving and fortunately, the restaurant wasn't packed. Both of us were craving something sweet and savory, so we got both! FLUFFY FRENCH TOAST (FULL STACK) - 13.25 Four halves of french toast topped with powdered sugar with lots of fresh strawberries and blueberries. The brioche they used to make this toast was high quality. The toast was extremely fluffy and lightly sweetened by the powdered sugar and fruit, which was perfect for me. My friend added some maple syrup to his, but for those "not too sweet" people, I feel like it was perfect the way it was. This was so good, would highly recommend getting this here! SPINACH FETA OMELETTE - 13.50 Half of our omelette was just egg and spinach. The other half had a lot of feta. Overall, healthy tasting and something you could make at home yourself. Nothing to rave about, but still tasty. GINGER BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE - 7 I wanted something other than water and opted for this smoothie. You can tell the tangy sweetness from the ginger along with the fruity berry explosion. Overall, solid smoothie and it wasn't too chunky (didn't feel like the seeds stuck to my teeth too much after). I'd recommend if you want to splurge. For Main Street, the pricing here is fair and the food we got were tasty. After tax and tip, we paid a bit more than 40 for this meal which is so worth! I would probably recommend just getting the sweet options in the future. Their french toast is definitely one I'll remember for next time. Their pancakes look amazing, too! I wish we had something like First Bite in the area I currently live in. We have a lot of restaurants with good brunch food, but none that are as casual and affordable.

Yelp
The key word here is (slow). The ice tea was good had a cinnamon flavor to it. I ordered the turkey burger and it was really good. Place was clean but service slow.
google avatar

Amin S.

Yelp
Crowded on a Sunday at 10. They were understaffed. Good, has the turkey burger, French toast, omlette and the pancakes. It was generic. That is to say, it was not bad, but it was not exceptional. I would come here for the company I kept with the food and just the food itself. Having said that, cheerful busy venue with Service being friendly (but understandably rushed)

Yelp
Had a great experience at First Bite. Great laid back ambiance. Got the Ann Arbor avocado toast with an egg and bacon and my friend got the Masala omelette. Everything was really tasty. The coffee was really really good and the servers kept our cups topped off continually. The manager and servers were extremely friendly and helpful. The manager was super kind and accommodating to a large table with kids too. You are paying Main St prices but that is to be expected. Great little brunch spot. I like that the menu was pretty health conscious. I have a restrictive diet with no refined carbs and there was tons I could order here. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
Very cute and unique restaurant in downtown. Right around the corner from public parking; quick 2-3 minute walk. Lots and lots and LOTS of gluten free and vegan items!!! Inside and outside seating. Closed at 3 (I think) so make sure you get there in time!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a delicious egg sandwich with a chai latte for lunch today. Both were yummy and the sandwich had fresh ingredients. My husband enjoyed the pancakes. Took off one star because the ketchup was low and splattered everywhere, swapped it with another ketchup at the table next to us and that splattered too.
google avatar

Annabelle B.

Yelp
Service was mediocre, coffee was okay, food was barely edible. Very expensive for what it was
google avatar

Brianne C.

Yelp
How have I never been here before?!? I need to eat gluten free and they had a wide variety of options, GF bread and pancakes and French toast. The food was delicious and the ambiance was very nice. Parking is a bit of a pain but it's downtown so that's just the way it is. Will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Liam B.

Yelp
No complaints on the ambience and audience of this place. It fit the vibe of the menu and what the goal of this business was. Our server was attentive and polite and it was a smooth experience. It was nice having a restaurant that reinforces a vegan and non vegan fusion of items on the menu. It was a place that has something for everyone. The food was good too, it just isn't a breakfast spot if you're looking for a classic intoxicatingly greasy American breakfast. Would maybe return it in the area again.
google avatar

Colleen R.

Yelp
This review is based on the service. I came here with my son for a "special treat". No one ever came to our table. Several tables seated after us got water and had their orders taken. Meanwhile, servers walked by our table and ignored us. I've been wanting to try this place out for forever but we won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered take out and it was an easy process. The food was ready as promise and the taste was excellent. I ordered the masala omelet with a side of bacon. It was delicious! Service was quick! The restaurant had a good crowd as most tables were full. If you're in Ann Arbor, I recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
First Bite has consistently been one of the better breakfast delivery places in town for the last few years. My favorites now are the stone ground wheat pancakes (the banana walnut it are a particular fave) with a side of the crispy bacon. The prices are still fantastic and one pancake with the side of bacon is usually filling enough, though you can add a second for a few more bucks. If I'm feeling a little more peckish I'll get an egg a la carte, over easy, on the side (they package them in little soup cups so they stay safe and hot!). I still have to branch out and try lunch but how can I deviate from the breakfast when it's so good??

Yelp
This will be the best review I have ever written on Yelp. FOOD: Excellent, home-made, organic SERVICE: Stellar. Never missed a beat. What sets this place apart any why you should run is the energy. Everyone in the staff is cooking and serving with their heart and you can taste it in the food. You are family even if you've never met. Special shout out to the owner who was having a heartfelt conversation with one of the regulars going through health issues. The level of care and compassion was noteworthy. So, come for the food and service if you are ready to join the family. I promise you will return.

Yelp
I love the french toast! The breakfast potatoes were also pretty good:) Good and relatively fast meal.

Yelp
The salmon breakfast omelet was amazing! Holy cow! Everything you can imagine goes in there. Omega3's, greens, protein, avocado (I think) & it's perfect in every bite. Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered an Indian bowl. I wasn't really a fan. My husband had a turkey burger sandwich which he really enjoyed. We both had the iced tea. It was really good tea. The service is slow so be prepared to wait but in their defense I think most things are fresh cooked. So worth the wait. It's a nice clean restaurant. I would go back but will try a different entree.
google avatar

Yelp
First time coming here, ordered the black bean burger something I normally would not eat and I really liked it.

Emmy T.

Yelp
Great food and quick service. I ordered the two eggs and potatoes and bread (forgot the name of the item) but it was great! My dad ordered the French toast and he loved it.
google avatar

Jenn K.

Yelp
We were here for a lacrosse camp and stopped by for lunch. I was reading reviews about the French toast so ordered it even though I don't normally eat French toast. AMAZING!!! the brioche bread was so light, fluffy and fresh! It was perfectly balanced- not too sweet. Topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries. I also ordered the quinoa avocado salad- also DELICIOUS! The baby spinach was fresh and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu. I will definitely come back when I'm in town. I hope one of my kids attends MI so I can visit first bite more often.

Yelp
Heard this was the best brunch in town and it did not disappoint! [Food] Excellent! We tried the breakfast wrap, beet burger, and fluffy french toast. Breakfast wrap was a stunning combination of eggs, mushroom, bell peppers, and more. I'm not usually one for veggie burgers, but the beet burger was delicious! The fluffy french toast was indeed fluffy and melt in your mouth goodness! [Service] Also excellent! We were seen right as we walked in the door and seated. Servers came and took our order promptly and brought our food asap. They checked on us to make sure the food was great, which it was, and fulfilled any requests we had. [Environment] Very clean! There's pop music playing on a stereo, lots of colors, also a whiteboard where anyone can draw or write things. Overall, great brunch!

Yelp
very chill & cozy atmosphere :) it was a great spot for food to start the day. i had the avocado toast and it was heavenly

Yelp
Just what I was looking for in a breakfast place! We arrived at the restaurant at 11:50 on a Sunday morning, and the place was packed with a wait list of people standing outside on the sidewalk. That, to me is a strong indicator of good food, so we waited our turn. We ended up having to wait 25 minutes to get a table, which in A2 would be what I would expect for a good restaurant on a Sunday at noon. I ordered a veggie omelet with the fingerling potatoes. That came with multigrain toast and a l perfect amount of strawberry jam. All was cooked to perfection and my omelet was chock full of FRESH vegetables. So yummy!! My friend ordered the spinach and feta omelet with bacon. It was the first time that either of us had heard a waiter ask how the bacon should be served. Her bacon was crisped just as she liked. While it did take us 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered, the waiter offered and comped some mango juice for us while we waited. I could not fault the staff for taking so long as they were extremely BUSY and the wait staff was running like Forrest Gump the whole time we were there. I rounded down my review today because our waiter forgot to bring us the drinks we originally ordered and we ultimately had to ask for them. Also, I didn't know what the process was when I arrived to get on the waitlist, which turned out to be a help-yourself-list-of-names/number-of-people-in-your-party honor system. Just know if you show up at a time that was as busy as it was today, you will wait and will have to track someone down for assistance. Be patient: it will be worth the wait!! I will be back!!

Yelp
We had our first bites of the day at First Bite and they were awesome! I'd been hoping to try this establishment before COVID and finally had the chance today. We came in for a mid-late morning breakfast, arriving around 10:15ish. It was a Friday on a game day weekend, but we were seated right away. The interior is small but charming, especially in the front section where the light streams in the front windows. Lovely plants, decorative lighting and artwork along the back wall add a nice touch. Our server was (I believe) also the owner. He greeted us immediately and was amiable with us and the other diners. My husband and I wanted a smallish breakfast while still sampling a couple things from the menu. We chose to split the Ann Avocado toast (adding an egg over hard) and a half order of the fluffy French Toast. I also ordered a latte. The wait for our food was not terribly long, the coffees didn't come u til the food, butI think this is simply because most places are still short-staffed. My oat milk latte was hot and hit the spot. Most importantly, though, the food! Our Ann Avo Toast was plenty big to split into two pieces and tasted oh-so-yummy! The roasted tomato and goat cheese added a lovely balance of flavors to the toast. The French Toast arrived and yes - it was fluffy! Light, tasty bites with strawberries on top. Having a little of each gave us a perfect mix of sweet & savory. Although we don't require it, there were signs for gluten-free and vegan options. I would definitely recommend First Bite to others in search a great spot for breakfast.

Yelp
My turkey burger was fantabulous. Maybe a little too much sauce, but since the sauce was wonderful, didn't detract from the burger. Glad they offered sauerkraut, which we found to be tangy. The coleslaw wasn't drowning in dressing either. Perfecto. The server was attentive without being overbearing. The music was pleasant and not too familiar, except for that Billy Joel song. Coulda done without that.

Yelp
A friendly host and relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed a nice brunch. I had the quiche with bacon and cheddar it was good. We never felt rushed had a nice relaxing Sunday morning. They have a nice variety of teas.

Yelp
Came here today after doing a menu deep-dive online, as one of my friends is gluten-free and vegetarian. When we arrived, it was about a 25-min. wait for an outdoor table, so we walked around downtown a bit, but it ended up being more like a 10-min. wait which was nice. PROS: -Food was very good. I had their avocado toast - they have two different kinds, Ann toast and Arbor toast, and I think mine was the Ann; it had big tomatoes, feta cheese, and avocado spread on multigrain bread. My friends both got the Arbor toast, one with an egg on hers and another with the gluten-free bread, which had cream cheese on it. I also had a side of the fingerling potatoes which was made with "clarified butter" which I believe is ghee? Which makes it vegan. My friend got the sweet potatoes with clarified butter and that looked great too. -Nice little outdoor area right on the Main St. sidewalk -Menu looked very healthy overall. CONS: -Obviously not their fault, but we were sitting right by a flowerbed, and there were a lot of bees. We ended up asking if we could move tables - as in, switch tables - but instead they PHYSICALLY moved our table, which was really nice customer service. -I am guessing they are understaffed, because we started lunch around 12:40 or 12:45pm and didn't get to leave until like 2:30pm. The waiter apologized a few times about this though (ie, we didn't receive glasses of water until like 1:15pm, and probably didn't get our food until 1:30 or 2pm). Overall everything was tasty here and prices are very reasonable too, so I'd come back another day, and possibly sit inside. My recommendation on the weekend is to come around 1pm because at 12pm it was very busy, but later on it was less busy inside.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Lovely spot with a great menu. Any place that asks how I want my bacon cooked gets an A+ immediately. Our server, who I believe is the owner, was charming and attentive. Food was delicious. Love the atmosphere.
google avatar

Elle M.

Yelp
Great brunch spot with gluten free options galore! Arrived around 10:45 and enjoyed a tea at the bar seating while waiting for a table, which opened up within 15 minutes. I had the veggie omelet with very tasty gluten free toast, a side of bacon, and strawberry jam, which I made into a couple of open faced sandwiches. Dove in so fast that I forgot to take a photo! My friends got the breakfast wrap and the Thai peanut wrap, both of which they really enjoyed as well. I wish this place had been around when I was in school, but excited to come back to try more of the menu next time I'm in town! The French toast that went to the table next to us looked amazing and is at the top of the list! Note that by 11:30, the waitlist was getting long. Get there a little earlier if you can!
google avatar

Yelp
I hate dinging small restaurants like this, but I don't have any positive things to say here. First of all, it's totally freezing inside. Everyone is wearing a coat sitting at the tables, and even the staff are wearing sweaters or sweatshirts in the kitchen. I remarked to the waitress about how cold it was, and she just shrugged her shoulders. I ordered the cup of tomato soup, which was blandish good, (but not really hot) and the avocado quinoa salad. I've truly never had a more blah dish in my entire life. Nothing was seasoned. I had to ask for some sort of dressing to go on it to even make it taste like something. Definitely can't recommend and won't be back.
google avatar

Kimberly U.

Yelp
Yummy pancakes, good coffee and some vegan, vegetarian and everything can be made gluten free.

Gerald L.

Yelp
Really good breakfast. Friendly service. Fast paced ambiance. Breakfast Sandwich Good omelet. Tasty potatoes.

Valerie S.

Yelp
The food is excellent; there are so many options! I love that the food is organic and they know the ingredients. If you have a food sensitivity, you can ask and they will either know or find out for you. They also will leave out an ingredient if possible. I also like how many vegetarian options they have. We had French Toast and omelettes. I highly recommend both. I can't wait to try more!
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly staff, excellent food. Great with food allergies. Love their veggie omelet and chocolate chip pancakes. My kids also ask to go here!

Tanya J.

Yelp
Excellent food. Offers a variety including breakfast all day. My daughter is Gluten and Dairy Free which can make going out challenging but First Bite satisfies her chocolate chip pancake craving as well as breakfast for the rest of us non allergic eaters. This time I had the breakfast wrap with scrambled eggs, roasted veggies, cheese and I added bacon. It was delicious! Photo included of the second half after I inhaled the first half. This can be easily shared but I was a pig and ate the entire thing. Served with potato chips on the side which were good but after a few, I skipped the rest because... you know...balance. Lol!
google avatar

Michelle J.

Yelp
A cute brunch spot! I adore the surrounding area of downtown Ann Arbor. The overall ambience is lovely, and the all of the staff was so so sweet. The food was quite nice! It was a pretty standard brunch. I would say it does what it needs to do, but nothing really stood out to me at all. I would recommend going here for a cute Sunday brunch!

G M.

Yelp
Had the Thai Peanut wrap & Breakfast wrap. They were very good! We got take out & we were surprised how oily they were. After patting off the oil with a napkin we placed a half of each wrap in a toaster oven. Delicious!!!

Fran P.

Yelp
Food and coffee are very good and healthy. Pleasant waitstaff and options for gluten free bread. Go here regularly when I'm in town
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
The freshest ingredients combined with the largest smiles equals " love at first bite" We'll be back soon!!

Yelp
I decided to treat my daughter to a burger since she's a burger fan as of recent. I decided to get a turkey burger for myself and I added sauerkraut and cheese. Let me tell you what!!!! This was an excellent choice. The best treat was that they don't offer traditional fries. Instead, there are tasty fingerling potatoes. If you are on the fence about stopping in, please go and treat yourself to their burgers. You will be very pleased that you did cause I know that I was.

Minty S.

Yelp
Good location, service and ambiance I ordered the chicken curry bowl.... Food was a bit blah..... nothing special in terms of flavor. I am a cook myself.... I could do much better :) veggies were a bit mush in this dish.... Curry seemed to be thickened with cornstarch instead of natural reducing to concentrate flavor.... Never a good idea unless you want to feed many with less effort and time!
google avatar

Don J.

Yelp
Loved this place! Breakfast wrap was packed full of eggs, veggies and cheese. Whole-wheat wrap was fresh and perfectly cooked - almost like a crepe. You can add bacon and/or avocado for extra flavor - I went for the bacon. My companion got the French toast with fruit, along with side orders of bacon and scrambled eggs. Everything tasted so fresh and good! Best of all, prices were reasonable in a part of town where a meal out can result in sticker shock. Coffee and tea here, but no alcohol, which also helps hold the bill down. A few tables outside are highly coveted when the weather is nice.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
Fresh, hot, delicious, quick. I work super close to this location and wanted something I could quickly pick up for breakfast, I ordered the breakfast wrap and added bacon. It did not disappoint. It was huge for a wrap and completely stuff (should've taken a picture) and it was not dry at all like some breakfast wraps and sandwiches are. They included some of there potato chips and I tried one and it was good but I was so full from the wrap that I did not finish them. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Matt U.

Yelp
Absolutely a flavor town! The Indian Masala omelette was delicious (spicy), the fried potatoes have a great flavor, the bacon is perfect crispy goodness, and they ask you how you want it! Toast was perfect and I'm not sure what kind of bread it was lol . Highly recommend if in Ann Arbor! Don't pass up, you won't regret!

R Darin E.

Yelp
Great vegetarian options. Turkey burger was amazing. Great coffee. One of a kind place.
