Really beautiful interior taproom with some great novelties and merch. Seating inside and on the patios looks amazing and well kept! Lots of love clearly put into this brewery.

Food from Food truck was delicious. Brewery had potential, larger place with large outdoor area. The cons: very noisy inside, only tried 4 beers all were average nothing stood out. Lots of kids running around inside and outside like a playground. Not the vibe we like for a Brewery which is why we only had one flight. Visited 3 breweries while in Gainesville, this one we all agreed wouldn't return.

We always love to visit local breweries when visiting new towns. First Magnitude did not disappoint! The beers were unique, flavorful and fun. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The environment was very cool and we felt welcomed even with our kiddos. There ended up being lots of families enjoying the outdoor area. The food trucks were also awesome. Their to go options were great offering singles and packs. Definitely would revisit!

A great experience all around. Plenty of different beers to choose from. I had a flight of sours and ciders, all tasted great. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking space, but it does fill up at peak times. They have cool merch; tshirts, hats, stickers, magnets, etc. They have a legit selection board games you can play there. There’s a food truck outside, on the brewery’s premises, but a separate business with its own schedule.

Great beer options, with a helpful staff. Indoor / outdoor seating - and the outdoor seating has tables, benches, Adirondack chairs, shade sails, fans, and tree cover. What a great environment. The food trucks that routinely are on site make for some great food options. Even when it is busy, it does not seem packed.

Fun brewery with a great selection of beers plus some nice live music. Staff there were really friendly as well and I liked that they provided free bug spray too whenever there's mosquitos out. You also get plenty of options on beer sizes which made it even better since I always able to grab a smaller size ones so that I could try out the varieties.

Very cool local brewery with a huge outdoor space. There's a large selection of varied beers, from light, fruity, IPAs, sessions, and dark lagers. This is a great place for a flight to sample the different options. Staff is very friendly, taking time to help with decision making while the line keeps moving quickly. They actually know about the beers and can discuss them with helpful insights. There's no kitchen but a regular rotation of food trucks.

Took my son and all of his friends and this place is so much fun. Sat outside in a covered patio with plenty of fans. Large beer selection and food trucks as well. Love this place!

Great atmosphere for the area especially pushing 50 years old and avoiding college crowd (no offense)! The table fire out are perfect to take off the chill and plenty of space to enjoy live music. Honey bee beer is yummy and the staff is super friendly! The picnic tables with wholes aren't so comfy but on this cooler night the fire table is worth it! Their growth over the past years is awesome!

We have been wanting to visit here and the perfect opportunity came up when we were at a YES event close by. We actually arrived before they opened so we were the first customers. Well there was a private party outside but no regular traffic. As we entered, we were greeted almost immediately. I really did not plan on which beer to order. I went with the Pavo Pilsner since Pilsners are my favorite. Hubs went with Ursa, since he has had that previously. Once we ordered, they asked for a card to start a tab. Since we were the only patrons, we were able to choose where to sit. I am not exaggerating when I say this, not even 20 minutes later, the place was packed! We decided to order one more and close out. The Pilsner was really good but for whatever reason, I chose a cider. The cider was good, like most ciders. I love the design of their logo so I purchased a cup and some dog treats since our munchkin was not with us. Here were a couple of food trucks outside and they were both very busy. The food smelled delicious! We will definitely be back, especially when it's a lot cooler out so we can enjoy the backyard/patio area.

So sad no dogs allowed!!! Even though it's an outdoor place with no kitchen!! Very hot, but would of suffered through it if they would of allowed my dog!!!

We fell in love with their beer while eating at a restaurant. (SATCHELS) So we decided to take a drive down there. See the brewery for ourselves. At the time we went, there was no food trucks. Or anything, but we were there just to see the brewery and have a nice cold drink and then head home. Really impressed with the layout. The staff was really friendly. Of course, they answered all my questions I had about different beers, as it was our first time there. They have a lot of different events there. Family friendly. Definitely worth a visit

Heck yeah! Add this to our short list of "must stops" when we travel through Gainesville! Love the blended amber! Clean, big, and friendly staff! We will be back!

This brewery is located in Gainesville not far from the college. When you drive up parking seems sparce but you will be amazed by how huge this brewery is inside and out. They have a huge gated front lawn with well over 50 tables and a stage, inside is where the bar is with a few tables and outside they have a huge covered standing area near the kegs and another covered seating area with over 10 tables. We stopped in for a beer and the flavors were so nice my husband decided to get a flight. I'm not much of a beer drinker so I was delighted they had two different ciders. For the flight my husband picked a few I might like and I actually really loved them. So I will say they have something for everyone. Quite literally actually... they also have apple juice soda handmade in house for kids. This brewery is great for all ages with plenty of space for them to have fun and there are also games inside great for all ages. I love the flight because it's inside a Florida license plate. I think this is a cool concept. Despite being busy on this rainy day the male bartender that assisted us really took his time and let us try as many as we wanted and didn't rush us. I thought they had excellent service. They don't make their own food but they had a food truck on site that was quite delicious. It was street food with a Asian flare. I got potstickers while my son got corn dogs and French fries. Overall we loved the beer so much my husband got some beer to-go for him and a beer enthusiast friend. When we pass through again we will certainly be coming back here. It was packed on a rainy day but everyone was mostly under cover. I'm sure it's really lively when the weather is nice especially with live music. The music, murals and modern decor really matches the vibe here.

First magnitude is a nice homey brewery in Gainesville, FL. The staff was super friendly and informative on what to order and service was super quick. I ordered a flight and it came in a FL license plate! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Gainesville.

First Mag has a very nice back yard! I was there last night and there were: couples, friends, coworkers, and parents with their children, and everyone has on the cool vibes helmet! The culture at this brewery tends to create a very peaceful atmosphere. There is a stage for bands to play. There are plenty of places to sit and relax Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, and many of them have propane fires to add to the charm and take the chill out of the Florida winter nights. I met a friend there. My friend and I met three ladies from Poland and all five of us drank beer and talked for about an hour! You can also bring in food from other places and eat here. Sometimes they even have food vendors on site! If you have never been....go!

Great beer! Great vibes! And great food trucks! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on their beers! Tons of seating and events. Sadly they don't allow dogs is my only gripe! But one of the best breweries in Gainesville and the Vega is the best!

Splendid brewery right in the heart of Gainesville. Pleasantly surprised of the sheer magnitude of this brewery. It also has some of the best sours I've ever had. Definitely the spot to go to for a nice homegrown beer. The service was good and efficient. The vibe here is totally chill.

Huge brewery with lots of covered seating as well as a whole backyard full of picnic tables and fire pits! I love that they had non-alcoholic options like seltzer and kombucha, and everyone that tried the beer seemed to love it. I recommend checking it out during the holidays because they have a stunning "christmas tree" made entirely of kegs!

Stellar brewery right by Depot Park (and a great bike trail!) They make their own root beer (5-5 stars of the 1st magnitude just for that!) Nero Toasted Oak Brown Ale was very good! Great atmosphere here..kid area outside. Beautiful back yard with tables! Just sit under a umbrella-lots of birds above so protect your beers!

This place is cool. There's lots of variety and the yard outdoors is awesome. I'm sure one can find something that they like since there's a big variety of brews

Love first magnitude, one of my favorite spots to visit when trying to destress and just enjoy the day/night with my friends. Great selection of beers and great environment, plenty of seating with lovely overhead string lights and trees and will rotate live music as well.

First time here, it's huge. Music, food trucks, people, beer, it's very nice. People are very friendly and helpful. We ended up splitting a flight, good beer. Good selection of choices, a little something for everyone. Very welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, I will definitely come back again and try more of what they have

I love this brewery! The outdoor space is amazing and they have little heaters on some of the tables this time of year. First Mag has a wide variety of beers including sours, stouts, hazy IPAs and more and they're all delicious and high quality. I only wish they sold their beers outside of Florida!

Cool spot with some good beers and great seating outside. I had the Hefeweizen and it hit the spot on a warm Friday afternoon.

The URSA IPA is one of the most delicious I've had, and I order an IPA almost every time! Very smooth, mellow, almost a tad sweet, and a very refreshing kick to it. Definitely would recommend to anyone who likes IPAs, but FM also has a lot of other fascinating brews to try, including on with candied jalepenos!! Both the indoor space next to the brewer ong equipment and the spacious outdoor area with colorful picnic tables make it a great spot to catch up with a friend and a brew!

Great drinks and beautiful spot! I put 4 stars because this place is too kids friendly where parents allowed let them to roam, running around, vomit, screaming, throwing mulch, crashed or tripped patrons. All I want to enjoy my food, beer and peace. Parents, control your goddamn kids.

Pretty cool spot to watch the game or live music. The beer is really good and there is a large variety. The food trucks that come depend on the day so it can be hit or miss. There is lots of seating and space, but it doesn't seem to be very crowded. This place has the potential to be a very fun place to watch sport games and concerts, but seems a little bit strict. Good place to go with a bigger group because the tables are big and there is lots of space for kids to run around. I recommend they add some lawn games (cornhole, washers, etc.) to make it a little bit more lively. Cool hidden spot though. I hope it can grow into something more popular!

I've been coming here for the past year. By far one of my favorite breweries in Gainesville, FL. Plenty of patio space outside and plenty of tables inside. There is always seating available. During the NCAA basketball tournament and other events they put up a big screen to watch. They have a great rotation of food trucks to compliment the beer on tap.

Brews and curbside pickup are amazing! Haven't experienced the beer garden / big screens yet but have to believe the reviews that's it's a great place to catch a game. I've had FM beer before when out in the area (Ursa IPA specifically - a classic west coast hoppy centennial-based IPA; always good) but stopped by the brewery for curbside pickup this time to grab some of their new ones. Placed an order online, pulled up to the curbside pickup spots in the back, let them know I was there, and beers brought out immediately and put right in the back of the car. Couldn't be better and much appreciated! Tried the Special Delivery #4 and Springs Session Juicy IPA today. #4 is crazy good. Hazy, east coast IPA with low to medium bitterness and a ton of flavor like a more full version of a juicy IPA. This is probably my favorite kind of beer and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Absolutely recommend if it still exists - and curious how this compares to the others in the series. Springs was just as described - a juicy IPA with all of the orange/melon/mango flavor of a juicy but a little lighter being a session. I actually think this one would have been too fruity if it were a normal higher ABV juicy so it works. If you're looking for a variety of IPAs to run the gamut of flavors grab these two and Ursa and you'll definitely be happy!

We enjoyed this place! The beers were good and the outside area was incredible! I like how they have a different variety of food trucks there as well. I understand they're not dog friendly due to insurance reasons but it really is a bummer with such a great outside area.

Love coming to First Magnitude to not only support our local brewery but the Pints and Predators event. Tried the Kombucha and the pale ale. So yummy.

THE BEST! There's a reason their ranking is so high and it's because they're everything a local business should be. They engage with the community, they host frequent and diverse events, their beer is fantastic, and they donate to local charities. I would HIGHLY recommend this place any day of the week.

Just went by the brewery for the first time today! For the COVID-19 pandemic, they have transformed the warehouse into a convenient drive-thru. You can order in-advance online (which is the best way to see the current beers and prices), or just order in-person. The precautions they were taking that I saw were far superior than any other place I have been to. They used cardboard lids to collect your credit card and carts to deliver the growlers, which were constantly being sprayed. All the employees were wearing masks and gloves, and always stayed 6 ft away. Growler glasses started at $1.87 for 32 oz, and the fills start at $10. I tend to like sour beers, so I got the Kombucha (not a big fan - - interesting coconut flavor, though) and the Gose (excellent fruity slightly hoppy taste). My total was ~$25 for the two 32 oz growlers with fills...not bad! With their excellent service, convenience, and prices, I'll definitely be coming back!

When in Gainesville, add First Magnitude Brewing to your bookmark collection! Here's why: 1. An unparalleled space of any Florida brewery I've seen with my own eyes. Absolutely gargantuan in size thanks to a taproom, an outdoor area, and an additional covered area with the best view in sight: tanks and fermenters. 2. Beer is solid all around. Typically, when you sample many brews there are a few that miss the mark. Everything I tasted at First Magnitude would be a beer I'd order again. Special props to their new core beer, Ursa, a hearty American IPA that's as bold as a punch to the groin! 3. Warmth and hospitality from the employees. Although I was originally here for an event, I ended up overstaying my welcome by shutting the place down. Real salt of the earth dudes and dudettes on staff here, and their knowledge of craft beer gives me all the warm fuzzies. After experiencing the brewery first hand, I have to support these guys more often than I already do by ordering more pints when spotted on tap in Jacksonville. Cheers to you, First Mag!

For the beer, the atmosphere & the vibe - First Magnitude is my favorite Gainesville brewery (Cypress & Grove has the best space)! I fell in love and was introduced to their heavenly 72 Pale Ale - the thought of both negated the distance between Jax & Gville And always gave me something to look forward to at the end of my drive! They always have a diverse selection of beers to choose from - seasonal selections and collaborations with other breweries. I've been to several events at First Mag and they've all been stellar! They are great hosts and their love of the community shines through. Come for the beer - stay for the community!

Very nice brewery... great ambiance, friendly staff, plenty of seating (with both outdoor and indoor options), and a spacious/open area to enjoy some great craft beers with good friends! We will definitely add this to our list of breweries to visit again!

Great location Great beer Highly recommend the candied jalapeños hazy IPA. Customer service was on point. Military discount. Music wasn't my choice, and seemed like an acquired local taste in music. All good. Put this place on your list to check out.

First Magnitude is a great place to grab a beer with friends. There are also frequently food trucks in the outside area with great options. The beer is some of the best I've had, especially their sours. The highlight though, in my opinion, is the really beautiful outdoor space where you can lounge by fire pits, play cornhole, and sometimes even enjoy live musics or shows.

Overview: 5/5 We had been wanted to try this place for awhile. Maggie and I needed to go down and try beers to narrow one down for our wedding. It had a very industrial brewing feels but was nice overall. A charity event was going on so hosting big events here would be ideal Ambiance : 4/5 This place had LOTS of outdoor and indoor seating. It had a beer garden with a shady area. My first thought was they could put a lot more benches and seating out there. They had games you could play for entertainment. Food/Drink 5/5 The night we went a food truck was outside so you could purchase tasty treats. I don't think they offer food on premise. The beer options were plentiful from Pale Ales to Dark stouts. At least 20+ with many they rotate out. I liked the "flight option" to purchase smaller samples. We narrowed our wedding pick down to the First Magnitude IPA. Service : 3/5 I was a little disappointed in the servers I thought they were a little snotty and put out serving us. Conclusion : A solid pick for sure and we will be back.

Enjoyed a few beers here after the Gator game last weekend. We were in town from Denver and it came highly recommended. Very impressed with their COVID precautions in place. The staff was friendly and all 3 beers I had (Two Bits, Vega and Wakulla) hit the spot. I'd absolutely return next time we are in town.

Best brewery in Gainesville if you ask us. They have a killer beer garden behind and plenty of food trucks for you to eat. Gainesville gets cold but this places is ready with plenty of fire pits and heat lamps. The local brown ale was delicious as was the IPA. They even have a kid zone where kids can play. They have a huge screen where you can watch TV and great music playing. They also have other breweries on tap if you want any to branch. This is a Must go! Killer vibe. I love how they serve the beer flights on old license plates

First mag is a great place for a game-day! Tables are spread 6ft apart outside & there are a wide variety of beers to try. The staff are very friendly and give great recommendations!

First Magnitude has great beer and a huge outdoor space to spread out! They've got their new(er) COVID-19 process down and everything is safe and efficient. On my latest trip, I tried the Sweater Weather, Square Lager, and American Swirl -- all of which were fantastic, but the Sweater Weather probably won the day for me. I even purchased a four-pack to take home with me.

COVID REVIEW: Drive thru is fantastic for picking up cans. The seating outside recently opened and I felt completely safe. I wasn't ever within 15 feet of anyone and I never had to touch any surface besides the table and beer. Ordering can be done by phone. Everyone is required to wear masks when walking around and all the other customers were respectful. I was skeptical at first, but I really enjoyed their current setup. Besides COVID safety First magnitudes beers have been improving year after year and many of their recent releases are quite good.

I had a really fun first experience at First Magnitude! They have a nice set up with ample seating inside and outside. Unfortunately, it was pretty cold the day that we visited and we didn't have heavy jackets on, or we would have sat outside. They had small "firepit" type warmers, but with my thin jacket it still wasn't enough for this Florida girl! There's great "family style" seating inside with large tables for people to gather around. It seems like a great place to meet people. There's tons of fun board games to play as well! Service: Super friendly and helpful people! Price/Menu: Great pricing! $4-7 depending on size of beer you order. I tried the first lemongrass radler and loved it! Can't wait to go back!

Such a good spot! This is really the best brewery in Gainesville. The honey bee beer is good, and their IPAs are all amazing. They also have a lot of outdoor seating (with heat lamps for the winter). It's really fun for groups!

It's a family friendly brewery. That's really all you need to know. If that's what you're looking for- you'll like it. If, like me, those words give you a nervous twitch. best stay away. The good: nice big space indoors as well as out doors. Plenty of seating and fun art to look at. Live music seems like a regular staple. The not-so-good: the beer is just OK, children everywhere! and people form a long line to order at the large L-shaped bar. you don't line up at a bar people! you belly up along it's length and the bartenders make the rounds. Probably forgot bar manners while having so many kids.

Definitely one of the hippest breweries in town! I happen to love the fact that it's family friendly. You'll find all types of games for everyone: board games, cornhole, giant Jenga, giant Scrabble and more. There's so many seating options for everyone. An outside covered patio, inside where the bar and TV's are or a large grassy area outside where the kiddies can run around. Game days this place is rockin'. Everyone loves cheering on the gators together. Need food? No problem. You'll always find a food truck parked here to fill your belly.
