First Light sent an amazing caregiver to spend evening with my Mother who was with Hospice at age 98. My Mother led an amazing life as an artist, philanthropist and activist. We wanted her to be comfortable and have the best care possible at the end of her life. First Light was instrumental in providing additional support for her and we are forever grateful.

First Light was the only positive experience we had related to my dad’s injury. First Light did everything they advertised to do and was always on top of everything. We never had to worry about my dad getting the best of care, every day. The staff was always helpful and friendly and the caregivers were just that, caregivers. First Light saved us so much worry! With 24/7 care, we were able to be certain my mother was taken care of even though I was states away. The friendships my mother made with her caregiver gave her much joy at such a difficult time.

Jade from First Light was my father’s primary care giver. She always took the best care of my father from personal care to cooking to laundry etc. Any time there was a slight change with my father she would be in contact with me. My father waited for her to arrive and was happy to see her. When we needed 24 hour care at times all staff was professional and took care of my father as their own. My father absolutely wanted to go to his granddaughter’s (my daughter’s) wedding.Jade was able to get my father ready to go and drove him to the church and then the venue where she stayed by his side at all times. She then took him back home. When my father needed a long term care facility, Jade was able to provide him companionship and still kept me updated with any changes. Dena was great with scheduling and any questions I might have. She also kept in contact during any hospital stays my father had. Jade is considered part of the family. First Light is highly recommended!

The administrative staff and caregivers have given our 88 year old mom the ability to stay in her home and her family peace of mind. The scheduling team is accessible and responsive… and have created a consistent monthly schedule, giving mom a predictable routine. Dependable caregivers ensure no services/shifts are missed and use their time with mom to not only address practical concerns but share moments of joy. This agency is an example of home care at its best!

The amazing caregivers and staff at First Light/Newark have provided us with service that has not only met, but exceeded our expectations. Having my 96-year old father at home while we work through the day, they insure that everything that is needed for both his physical and mental well being are met. I am so thankful to have First Light to help with my loved one. As a Social Worker in Healthcare it’s hard to have the time needed to help with everything that they might need and the ladies at First Light have helped take the weight off my shoulders. Not only are they there to help with daily needs but have taken my loved one to Dr appointments. When there are staffing changes they are great to make sure they have the right fit to help her. I am so grateful for them to help me during this process. Its completely different when you are dealing with family than your patients. I can’t thank them enough for their expertise. I would recommend them 100%.
