Oh my goodness, Fish and Chips Houston in Kemah, Texas was so awesome. My husband and I got the Cod Dinner and Haddock Dinner. My kids got chicken fingers and fried Pizza. My daughter said their gravy is delicious too. So delicious! We emptied our plates. Wow to the chef’s of this restaurant. Charlie our waitress was awesome! She is friendly and professional. She kept our cups filled coffee and water. Their coffee is good too and it’s just instant coffee 😉This place is amazing!!! Food is Awesome. It has a wonderful atmosphere here. Thank you for such an awesome experience!!!

Great little Pub. Excellent service for being so busy. Came for the fish and chips and it did not disappoint. Batter was even and stayed on the fish well after delivery to the table. Stayed crisp and the fry oil was new. great value for lunch with enough leftovers to bring home. Just as good as F&C in the UK when we went last year. Glad to know we have a place to go to here. Great job mates 👍

Traveled all over Ireland and had a proper Fish-n-Chips. If you are looking for a local version, this is it. Great food served hot and fresh with mushy peas and coleslaw. They have a fair selection of beers on draft and whiskeys to represent the EU region well. The atmosphere is seat yourself which is the only challenge I'd give them. Staff are very friendly and witnessed them properly explaining the menu to a few first timers... This pics represent the Cod Dinner. Check it out.

If you haven’t tried this place you are missing out!! The fish and chips are spot on! Try the Scotch Egg..it’s delicious! The sticky toffee pudding is amazing! Charlie was our server today, and she’s a jewel! Extremely personable and helpful! Looking forward to coming back!

Had to sit at bar, but thankfully bar seating was actually comfortable. Chairs were padded and backed. Bartender was awesome at their suggestions and we loved the cod fish and chip dinner, lamb pie and curry pie. Recommend for dinner, and there is outside seating too. It is a pub/bar so it can be rowdy inside at times.

Visited Kemah for fish & chips and it exceeded expectations. The haddock was fresh, perfectly fried, and flavorful, while the Scotch egg was different but outstanding. I would never think to cook an egg like that. Service was attentive and welcoming, and the overall experience was excellent. Wendy was phenomenal and deserves the biggest raise. Super friendlt, knowledgeable, and polite. Highly recommend this spot for quality food and great service.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner one night while in Kemah. This was our first time at this place and we loved it. I got the chicken fingers and my husband got the steak pie. The service was wonderful. Our drinks were great and the food came out very hot which you don't always get in restaurants so I was amazed. The portions and quality of the food were great. Our whole experience was wonderful. We will be back.

Took my girlfriend here last weekend for lunch. Perfect choice for a rainy day too. I got the Cod fish and chips and she got the shrimp and chips. We also got the chips and gravy. ALL the food was incredible. The shrimp was large and crispy. The cod was also baked and super golden crisp, not soggy. The wait staff was great and I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the owner Craig. He was going around talking to customers and having conversation. Really great guy. Inside was a great vibe as well. Hands down the best fish and chips I've had. I'll definitely be going back. Take a chance and try it you won't regret it.

This was a review from a few weeks ago on my trip to the Kemah area. Once I wrapped up with my event I decided to take a trip to a place I have been looking forward when I had an opportunity. This was that time. It was none other than: Fish and Chips Houston. From my recollection I knew the restaurant was located close to the boardwalk and I'd pass it up on the way there. Very pub like in its decor but still gives a local bar atmosphere for those nearby. I came for one thing and that was the fish and chips. In addition, I wanted to give the haggis a try as well. Finally to wrap up the meal, was the sticky toffee pudding. The fish choices were either cod or haddock and decided to stick with cod. The filet is a nice size which definitely was as big as the plate but also with thick cut chips (fries). Personally I enjoy it with tartar but also the malt vinegar. Nice crispy texture outside but also very delicate on the inside. The haggis was something I have tried before at other places so I was not coming in blind. Haggis is sheep's intestine with spices and on first bite, this would be very similar to how boudin is made and has that same texture. Unique but definitely the spices masked that games taste I have come across before. But the surprising choice was definitely the sticky toffee pudding. For me, I'm not a huge fan of toffee because of the hardened texture whenever I come across it. But this was not it, with the creamed poured on top, made this delicious, creamy and digging in for more. Overall this was a great visit to Fish and Chips Houston. The service was great and our bartender was consistently checking on us and with the refills too. I had high hopes and this made my day. I left satisfied and filled my fish and chips cravings. One thing that is unfortunately an issue is the distance. I love that it is close to Kemah but coming from the city a bit of a drive. But I do recommend it if you are around the area. And you can't skip on the sticky toffee pudding.

I stopped in here last night at the recommendation of the bartender at my hotel. I definitely was not disappointed. The bartender was super friendly & took my order quickly. I got a half order of the fish (haddock) & chips with a side of brown gravy. The food came out very quickly and looked cooked to perfection.. and it was. The breading was light & flavorful and actually stuck to fish! Most places the breading tends to slide off, I'm guessing due to the oil. The fish itself was light & flaky and had a great taste - I preferred it to the normal cod I get. The fries were awesome as well & cooked just right and the light gravy was seasoned perfectly and added the right touch. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Hands down the best fish & chips I've had!

Come for the food, stay for the drinks and screens for games! They have a christmas cocktail menu available if you're feeling festive. the fish and chips are outstanding and literally have the best tartar sauce I've ever had...and I don't even like tartar sauce.

You can't beat a good English or Scottish breakfast at an authentic British Pub! We are never disappointed! Wendy or the other Servers always provide outstanding service with a smile. You've got your Soccer or other sports playing on the Tele. And you'll often run into an ex-Pat or two that we can enjoy some good conversation about or travels in the UK.

Well done. Drove a long way. Crispy outside flaky in the center best since Aberdeen. Only thing I would say is perhaps a bit too much taste of oil. Nonetheless will be back as this is the best in Houston that I've had so far.

My husband and I just visited Fish & Chips Houston for a late lunch, it's a pub with dining tables, place is very cool, sporty soccer vibes, cold beers and great music. Staff is friendly and helpful. We started with a Scotch egg, it came pretty quick, I loved it! So this is basically a boiled egg wrapped in pork sausage meat, then coated in seasoned breadcrumbs, and fried to perfection, the yolk was jammy, the sausage had a great flavor, and the coating was so crispy, came with a velvety mustardy mayonnaise sooo good! Then we had the Shepherd's pie, this is a big dish, it's ground lamb and veggies topped with mashed potatoes, baked until golden, great flavor of the lamb, it was very tasty! We also had the Cod Fish and Chips, the fish was moist, and the batter was crispy, homemade potatoes, can't never go wrong! Great place, good food, great option to eat out.

We came to Kemah to get some seafood and hangout for the day and saw this spot and decided to check it out since it had great reviews. It wasn't really the seafood that we nationally intended to come and eat but it was a great substitution. We had fish and chips with Haddock and not Cod. The Haddock was buttery, flaky and tasted great. The Tartar SAUCE WAS THE BEST.... We also ended up with The Shepards Pie and Scotch Eggs. The Scotch egg was great. The batter was nice and fluffy. The Shepards Pie was good but tasted better once I put hot sauce on it. It's made with lamb which gave it a slight game taste in which I enjoyed. The bar tender was a great host and made me a delicious Espresso Martini and an Irish Coffee. I'd definitely go back and try more of their menu when in town.

This place truly exceeded my expectations. The hot tea was perfect, and the steak pie was amazing; the puff pastry was incredibly crispy, while the steak inside was very flavorful. My friend ordered the haddock, which looked fresh and crispy as well! We finished our meal with the only dessert they offer--a toffee cake--and it was absolutely delicious. We sat at the bar, where the bartender was friendly and very attentive. Although the restaurant is quite small, it is definitely worth a visit.

Worth the drive! We were looking for a new British pub to visit. It's far from us but we were there for a birthday celebration. There isn't much parking out front but there is a lot across the street. The staff was friendly and attentive. We made a reservation since we were a large party. I got to try the fish and chips which was a great size and flaky. As an appetizer we had the chips with curry sauce. I had the steak pie which was filling, just a heads up that there's no vegetables inside just meat. The battered sausage was also good. I also enjoyed the sticky pudding. It vibes with a little container of cream. It was a nice experience, one we'll try again.

We had the cod dinner which was very good. Plan to go back and try other items. It is hard to find the time to just do it. I highly recommend it.

Such a great spot. I travel a lot for business and this place is always a must visit every time I am in the Houston/Kemah area. I actually stay nearby just to visit. Food is awesome, staff is awesome. Hard to decide what to order as so many things are a must have. Today I had the scotch eggs, haddock with mushy peas and Cole slaw. I even got a curry pie to go. So good. Never disappoints.

Cute British Pub in a great location in Kemah. Service was excellent! The waitress was very attentive. The fish and chips are AMAZING!!! Fish was batter and cooked perfectly, chips were fresh, and the mushy peas were tasty. Tartar sauce was delicious. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be back!

Dinner time and I wasn't feeling up to a plate of fish and chips so I settled for the curry pie, which turned out to be absolutely delicious. Lots of flavor and spice (not hot!) and the fries were excellent. Fresh and hot. With two beers in, I sat at a comfortable table with the laptop and had a pleasant time here. Went here for lunch. Wife had Fish and Chips (Haddock). I had Shephards Pie. We split both and both were excellent. Much to explore on the menu and will definitely return.

Came here during lunch hours on a Thursday and we were the only people there sitting out side, we had our pups with us so that was nice! My boyfriend's got the pizza crisp thing which was essentially a deep fried pizza and surprisingly very yummy! I got the haddock and chips and we split a scotch egg! Over all yummy and great experience! I love being in the kemah area! So happy we tried it out

Wow, this place is great, truly worthy of (5) stars. Fish and Chips Houston is phenomenal, the Cod fish and Chips are great, as well as the chips and gravy, the haggis and chicken are both on point. And don't skip on the sticky toffee pudding or you've missed a treat. Quality & quantity are great the price is in line with dining out. Fish & Chips Houston has definitely earned a spot in our rotation.

Been going here for over a year since we moved to Kemah. Hands down best fried fish anywhere in the area. The owners are super friendly and the food is always fresh and soooo flavorful. Never old, stinky fish!! Fresh as can be!

We had an absolutely delicious lunch today at Fish and Chips Houston! The fish was fried to perfection--crispy on the outside, tender inside. The chips? Spot on. The sauce? Phenomenal. The meat pie? Packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. And the sticky toffee pudding? Stupid delicious. If you're craving classic fish and chips done right, this place is a must-try! Make a plan to visit Kemah for some entertainment and a fantastic meal!

Not a Fish and Chips connoisseur but the food was actually much better than expected. The cod and haddock were cooked to perfection but the fried shrimp was THE best of all the seafood ordered. We tried the haggis bc I wanted to make my mind up for myself in spite of the bad rap this dish gets in general and I LOVE IT. As did my husband and youngest son. I like organ meat so that wasn't surprising but the spice mix really shone through but I was told that was a secret. Friendly service and ambience was calm at 12:00 on a Saturday.

This place is just always fantastic. Sure, I would love a wall of IPA selections, but the real reason to come here is the food, which is served in a clean and friendly atmosphere. It's also very telling when more than half the guests sound like David Beckham or Russell Brand ... Sort of like when I lived in NJ and knew that a BBQ or Tex-Mex joint had to be good if other patrons were wearing Texas Rangers caps or bigass tater chip-shaped belt buckles. We decided that Fish and Chips Houston would be our final meal for 2023, and it was so cool to see the place packed -- early. Our food, as usual, was outstanding. Service was also clutch, despite the bevy of patrons. I don't make New Year's resolutions, but I think I'll resolve to eat here more often this year!

I ordered a scotch egg for appetizer and asked about their cider on tap (can't recall the name). My waitress (I think she was also the bartender) gave me a sample to try before I ordered which I appreciated bc I ended up not liking it. I had never had British style fish and chips before so I asked "cod or halibut"? She suggested halibut and it was delicious. I also ordered a side of the brown gravy. The texture is very off-putting, thick and gelatinous but the taste is very nice. My waitress also gave me a sample of their curry sauce to try bc I had never tried that before. It's savory but also extremely cinnamon forward, just not for me. I ended the meal with sticky toffee pudding which was rich and warm and delicious. Overall a great experience thanks to my waitress who treated me very well.

Cod and chips was good. Scotch eggs were excellent! Sticky pud was good and the chef even made us custard to go on it!

Exactly what we were hoping for. Looking for local fish n chips. WOW!! Crisp on the outside fresh delish perfectly cooked inside. I topped off with ice cold beer. My friend had a Halloween inspired tropical drink. Said it was perfect "beachy"Nice selection and full bar. Tristin, our server was on it.. not hovering, just the right amount of attention with a great smile and happy attitude to help. Did I mention it's a fun laid back great food little place by the water. Several things on the menu looked tempting, so we'll def be going back. Oh and the owner stopped by for a quick chat/check and make sure everything was good. Just over all excellent experience. Well done !

I've recently discovered Fish And Chips Houston (actually in Kemah). A little place open at 9:00 am for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays, offering enormous, "full English" and "full Scottish" breakfasts, to enjoy while watching the Premier League match of your choice. Four screens and were happy to change the channel to find the match of our choice. And they didn't blink an eye when we ordered post-breakfast Guinness, Newcastle, and Irn Bru and stayed for the 10:30 match, too. Everything was plentiful and delicious, though the tattie scone was a bit dense for my taste. The bacon (fyi it's British bacon, which is more like thinly sliced fried ham) was a very generous pile as were the scrambled eggs. Went back for a Monday afternoon lunch and can attest they have great, UK-authentic fish and chips, too. Chips (a.k.a fries) were perfectly crispy and plentiful. I noshed on those for the whole Liverpool football match I was watching and they were just as good an hour later as when they first came out hot and fresh. Cod was a huge piece, flaky and perfectly cooked, with delicious tartar sauce. Oh, and the sticky toffee pudding! It's a destination in itself - the decadence! Service was very friendly and attentive. Was pleased that they weren't eager to to turn over the table and seemed happy to let us finish watching the matches we came to see. Ambiance isn't much to speak of -- more just functional. But, hey, bathrooms were immaculate. I'm looking forward to going back to try the meat pies.

I tried Fish and Chips Houston. Very nice layout, super clean and stylish. Tried the Sausage roll, very flaky crust, tasty sausage, and sauce. Haddock lunch was very good, Haddock had a stronger flavor than Cod, but very good taste, flaky crust, great Tartar sauce. Homestyle Chips just right texture, and the Beef gravy is deliscious. I enjoyed lunch very much, and the staff was welcoming and good. I will be back.

Great service and a nod to all things UK. Not too many places like this around the area. Definitely worth the stop. Try something you may not have had before as everything looked great going by.

The food is simply amazing! As someone who lived in the UK as a child and has traveled back there many times as an adult, I'm not exaggerating when I say that these are the best fish and chips this side of the Atlantic. I'm just sorry it took me this long to try them. I'll definitely be going back and will recommend to all my friends.

Beautiful day in Kemah at Fish and Chips Houston! We sat out on the breezy patio. The waitress was attentive and kind. Lunch portions were generous, and delicious. Would definitely return!

We stopped in Sunday evening to order fish and chips and it was amazing. I wish I could find a similar place in Dallas. I've been to England and it was just as good if not better.

A spot of lunch was had, and the fish and chips were sampled. The price for a 6oz fillet and some chips seemed a bit much, it did. The food itself was tasty enough, but it wasn't exactly a bargain. With it being a Tuesday, there weren't many people there, and the service was top-notch. Getting parked near Kemah, even on a slow day, was a bit of a palaver. The facility was well-kept, nicely decorated, and looked the part. Just a shame about the price of the fish and chips.

After tonight's visit, I still stand firmly on my previous review - as a local, we are so fortunate to be able of enjoy a solidly true piece of British authenticity in Kemah! If you're craving fish n' chips or fried shrimp.. this is the place! Best in town, so delicious, large portions and the staff is great. Ask for Charlie she's an absolute doll, great service and super sweet!

Fish and Chips continues to impress. Friendly staff, great beer recommendations from the barkeep, and great food! Stop in! Can we talk about the tartar sauce and how good it is? It's a detail so often overlooked, but here it's clear that they've made a real effort with it. I've never had any like it. Fantastic!

We tried Fish and Chips Houston a few weeks and our experience was great! Our server was very knowledgeable and super friendly! The fish and chips were spot on! The fish was super crispy and the chips were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside! We will be back!

First off - Greg was awesome. Give him a bonus. Always moving, always cleaning when not busy. THE TARTAR SAUCE is GOAT level. Legit top 2 or 3 fish and chips I have ever eaten in the world. Super fresh with a MONEY batter. What is the secret to making batter that rocks this hard?

This is our first time here and maybe there are better things on the menu that are good, but, DO NOT ORDER the fried pizza. It is atrocious! Uneatable. Gross. Menu says to trust them it's good, DON'T believe it. Other than that the place is great. Awesome service. Good drinks. Nice locations and atmosphere.

Great fish and chips, it was our first time here today on a day trip to Kemah and everything was great. Love that they have IRN BRU as well. Perfect sized lunch portion for the food. Thanks for the great service. We will definitely return.

Let me start by saying the food is EXCELLENT! Very reasonable prices for the boardwalk. Not a lot to the place. Very large bar right in the center as you walk in. Seat yourself at one of the tables surrounding, or if the weather permits grab a table out on patio. My server was a very nice young lady who put up with all my many questions since it was my first time. We started with the scotch egg and it was odd and delicious at the same time. We had the haddock and scotch pie. The curry sauce, and I never imagined saying this, is an absolute must with the chips! Don't settle for ketchup. Finished the meal with the toffee pudding. Definitely save room for this heavenly delectable perfect end to a meal. You will not regret it, and probably won't share it.... (Hope the desert video loaded so you can see it.)

Finding good fish and chips in the states is no easy task. Fish and Chips Houston is the closest I've found in years. The crispy batter on the haddock takes me back to my childhood, eating fish and chips out of newspaper. The chips are real chips, not French fry pretenders. The chips are a tad dry, though. The Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties was identical to that I enjoyed last time I was in Edinburgh. The steak pie was good. The sausage roll was delicious, but the pastry needed to be more flaky. The one disappointment was the small selection of British beer - not one bitter on tap. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fine but very American. It feels more like a seaside sports bar than an English pub. We were there early in the evening and had no wait; the place was busy by the time we left.

By far the best fish and chips I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. I'm sure I'll be going back multiple times.

Food is great! I love the battered chicken strips (so do my pups)! Service is good, love the feel of the restaurant interior.
