Delicious blackened tuna tacos and a fried flounder basket.Reasonably priced too. The tuna tacos were cooked perfectly, flavorful big chunks of tuna. Definitely add guacamole! I didn’t try the flounder but the fries were really good. Cold beer and a beautiful waterfront marina view. Our server was excellent. She greeted us, knew the menu well, brought drinks, and food quickly. We had a great time and really enjoyed it. I’ve been twice before and I’ll definitely go again!

Google
The food was fantastic. Stopped in around 4pm on the way back from the beach and sat outside. We wound up in the sun and that was the only negative. The food was fantastic. My daughter had the blackened Mahi mahi. I had the blackened tacos. Easy parking. Super fast service. Great views. Did I mention fantastic food?!

Google
First time at wrightville beach and looked up a place nearby. Nestled at the base of the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge, Fish House Grill boasts a prime waterfront location with outdoor seating perfect for boat-spotting and ocean breezes. Food was excellent. Highly recommend

Google
Delicious food with a good marinara view and vibes. It's got the view, it's got the vibes, it's got the food. What more can you ask for? If you are looking for a chill, (not too expensive) meal on the water, this is it! Everything is served in plastic baskets and the mojito was pretty weak - that's the only reason it gets a 4 Star. Everything else was exactly what we were looking for after a long day sitting on the beach in the sun.

Google
Fish House Grill is a casual spot that delivers both flavor and portion size, perfect for sharing a meal with family or friends. Food: • The nachos were a standout starter—loaded with pulled chicken, black beans, jalapeños, melted cheese, pico de gallo, and served with fresh guacamole and salsa. Every bite was flavorful and hearty. • The pineapple bacon cheddar burger struck a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and pairing it with steamed broccoli was a nice, fresh touch. • The tacos were generously filled, whether chicken, pork, or beef, topped with fresh onions, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. Each came with a side of blue corn chips and dipping sauces, making them both filling and customizable. Presentation & Portions: Dishes came out well-portioned in classic red trays lined with paper, giving it a fun, laid-back vibe. The portions are large, so come hungry or be ready to share. Atmosphere: The outdoor seating had a lively, relaxed feel—great for groups and casual dining. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy good food without pretense. Overall: Fish House Grill nails casual dining with bold flavors, generous servings, and a menu that balances comfort classics with a fresh twist. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying, relaxed meal.

Google
Jack, young man, provided excellent service for our group of 10 people. Jasmine discussed seating with me along with another young lady at the hostess desk. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. The food and service were amazing. Plenty of parking available. Highly recommend! Most in my family did not like the lemon pepper french fries.

Google
Perfect meal. In attendance were Ex Wife and Son of Mine. We got terrific Piña Coladas -- on the West Coast where I presently abide, they seem not be a thing and I don't understand why. So. I had grilled Mahi-mahi, broccoli and rice, preceded by a very tasty bowl of clam chowder. Excellent. I think beer was Tropical Lightning, a citrus IPA from Wilmington Brewing Company. Good good good. We got great seating outdoors and great post-storm weather.

Google
I will say this is definitely a spot for local people. Located on the waterfront. If you’re looking for a nice place to go have lunch on the patio or dinner this is definitely an awesome spot with delicious food. Can’t wait to go back to try more on their menu.

Yelp
We had lunch. The food was great (mahi). The service was fantastic for a Saturday. Our server Martin (Olivia) was very courteous and on time. Our food came out quickly too. Highly recommended! We sat outside and there was a nice breeze. The view is amazing. I sat across from my wife.

Yelp
Fish House Grill was recommended by some friends of ours. 6 of us had dinner around 8pm on a Tuesday. I think they had closed the inside so we sat outside on the deck near the door to the restaurant. Service was fine and the food was good. I had the blackened salmon over penne a la vodka special. The salmon was good and the pasta was ok. The kids enjoyed the chicken strips. After being seated, we noticed a cockroach in the corner...then another...and another. A little off-putting and the kids were freaking out. Obviously, the weather is perfect for roaches, so we assumed this was the status quo. A little concerning as they were so close to the door to the kitchen. Its hard not to wonder if they are outside, are they also inside? Upon leaving, there were dozens of roaches all over the patio, on the walls, etc. There was a roach on our car door. I see some other reviews that mentioned seeing roaches inside as well. It may be common because of the weather and the area, but I don't think we'll be back because of it.

Yelp
Fish house is our go to spot. I normally absolutely love their blackened shrimp tacos but it seemed like this time they skimped on the blackening seasoning so they didn't have much of a flavor. The shrimp was barely warm. Our server was absolutely amazing. Of course the views always beautiful. But the main thing we come there for is the food.

Yelp
I didn't have quite as great of a visit today as I have had in the past. The view is fantastic and the service was great- it was just the taste of the mahi tacos weren't good. I did eat them all and the picture I took for some reason didn't take. They just weren't 5 star tacos like they were before. My friend ordered the grown up grilled cheese with fries. There were so many fries and they had a strange taste. Also, I am a bird person but for people who don't like birds - beware! They are everywhere! At your table, on the railings, just everywhere

Yelp
Food was great! I got the islander chicken sandwich and it was incredible! Great covered outdoor seating! And the service was great!

Yelp
I took my wife to Wilmington for a quick weekend trip, and we were excited to indulge in seafood before heading home. Our friend recommended Fish House Grill, although it didn't rank as high in the Yelp ratings for seafood restaurants as other options. My wife and I both decided to order the apple walnut salad. She got hers with a blackened salmon, mine with blackened shrimp. I was especially impressed with Danny, our server, who answered our questions and was spot on regarding the seasoning level on her salmon. I also ordered the fried calamari with light seasoning. It may be the first time in 40+ years of traveling globally that I have been served hot calamari cooked to perfection. The meal was excellent, and our server was fantastic, efficient, and attentive. This was a great experience - great tasting food and a marvelous view!

Yelp
Service was great. Our server Maddy made sure she checked on us frequently and was very friendly. Ambiance is causal and fun. Food was ok.

Jack T.

Yelp
We got drinks here and got screwed over. LOVED our server but the manager not so much... We ordered a frose. It was supposed to have vodka in it. My girlfriend is gluten free, so she had Tito's. They added +4$, but there was zero vodka in it. It tasted really bad and the additional pay for not adding anything...? Come on. We asked about it and the manager didn't do anything. I will not be back and recommend others to stay away.

Yelp
We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer along with the blackened Mahi tacos. The food came quickly and was delicious. Our server was very nice. We enjoyed our dinner and look forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
Little pricey but good food! The salad was amazing! Nice place on the inter coastal waterway.

Yelp
Sydney is awesome!. She got me all the shark attack cocktails I could ask for! It paired perfectly with the beautiful view. Such a good way to spend a Saturday night

Laura K.

Yelp
Good chill vibe. Great food with lots of options and honestly some of the fastest service i've had in a while!

Yelp
Caroline was our waitress she was adorable! The margaritas were good especially with grandmarnier liquor. The tacos were awesome especially the blackened shrimp! The out side seating was beautiful. Located right on the water!

Yelp
Had a great dinner! I love sitting outside when I come here. It's such a relaxing place to meet and take in some delicious seafood. There is also a variety of options on the menu for anyone who doesn't care for seafood. We rarely have had to wait for a table, there are a lot of seating options. We started by sharing appetizers of fried pickles and nachos w chicken added. Both were really good! The tacos are my favorite and I had the blackened shrimp. The crab sandwich was also good per my daughter, be prepared though the legs are bartered and included on the sandwich. The lemon pepper fries were also good (side option). You can't be the views and a great selection of drafts or mixed drinks. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great, not over priced and our service was excellent! Scenery was beautiful. Best place yet!

Scott D.

Yelp
Normally this is our "go to" place to relax and enjoy the waterfront. Recently, the food has taken a nosedive. Ordered burger with fries and flounder platter. Burger and fries were cold. Fish platter was not flounder! Best guess was that it was tilapia. Bread coating was greasy and heavy. Way more fries than one would expect to eat. Very disappointing. It appears that there has been a change in management. Alot of small things have changed, not for the better. Sorry but there are better places to eat.

G M.

Yelp
Solid, fresh seafood..sat outside didn't like the stoop we were up on but would recommend.
google avatar

Kari B.

Yelp
Had a hard time parking it got seated right as we got there. Our waitress was pleasant and nice. There is inside seating where we sat and outside seating by the water. Quaint little place. I ordered the mahi mahi grilled with seasoned rice and broccoli. Very good. My husband ordered the fried shrimp and fries with coleslaw. They fries are seasoned very good. The shrimp had a light breading and very tender. The coleslaw was ok but could be a little more creamy. We have been here once before and decided to come aga

Yelp
Another great meal and view! We come to WB every year, multiple times, and this is a consistent spot from good food to good service.

Belinda M.

Yelp
The food was great and the view is amazing! This place is highly recommended, especially during the offseason.

Dan C.

Yelp
Decided to stop her for lunch. Sat outside on the water which was wonderful. The food was plentiful and tasted great! The waitress that took care of us was wonderful ( wish I could remember her name). She took our order without writing it down...I was impressed. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
had a great dinner here. we were a group of 9 and they got us in without a wait. sat outside which was a little chilly because of the breeze but not bad. great view of the marina!! i'm gf and they had lots of good options. i got the shrimp tacos and nachos.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I love Fish House grill. The fish & shrimp tacos are amazing. Most recently I had their Mahi Mahi Sandwhich which was delicious and I enjoy their signature fries with a lemon zing! The calamari is a great shareable appetizer and you can't go wrong with either of the desserts: Key Lime Pie or Fudge Brownie Napoleón. Lastly, the outdoor patio by the water is peaceful and a wonderful dining option.
google avatar

Lilia V.

Yelp
This was our second time here and we always sit outside because why not!! It's nice to see the boats pass by or boats just pull up for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. Started off with a glass of Sangria and some appetizers. We had an order of calamari, peel away shrimp and fried pickles. They were good and tasty. For the meals we had shrimp tacos, the Islander and the Baja salad with grilled chicken. The Islander was big and the fries were just right! The shrimp tacos were good too and the salad was pretty large that I ended up sharing it. For dessert we tried the brownie and that was also a hit! I think the kids licked the bowl!! This place gets busy and the service is always good. You can't go wrong where you sit if you want to enjoy the outside unless of course it starts raining but it is great place for families and groups! We will be back soon!
google avatar

Tim D.

Yelp
I had the fried green tomatoes to start those were very good. Fried calamari was also ordered for the table which I also enjoyed. Oyster po-boy was my order. The bread was not crusty enough and did hold together. Oysters were good nice plump and fat. Tomatoes were terrible aren't they in season here no excuse for tasteless tomatoes. My sandwich also needed more lettuce. Fries were good every one else enjoyed their meals. Service was fine and view by the dock was wonderful. Fix the bread and tomatoes and more stars.
google avatar

Aaron P.

Yelp
I'm surprised it's not busier. There is a large amount of outdoor seating overlooking the boats on the waterway. My complaint is that there could be more airflow to mitigate the flies. The service is great and the food is reasonably priced. I'd recommend this for bigger parties or families with children for the convenience of seating and value in price.
google avatar

Dave K.

Yelp
Really really good. Surprisingly good! I had low expectations but needed a drink and something not fried. I was on the water and knew I could get a drink at a million places but wasn't sure about food. Fish House delivered. Phenomenal salmon. Stiff cocktails A+ location on the water View of beautiful boats My buddy had the fried chicken sando - it might have been even better than my salmon.

Drake F.

Yelp
Local haunt that is always reliable. Definitely a warm weather place as the majority of seating is outside. Good selection of seafood dishes.
google avatar

Darlene B.

Yelp
Great setting next to the marina. Cool and casual vibe looking at all the boats. Fried local oysters were perfect. Tasty and not fried hard. The onion rings are legit onions! Not bits and pieces of onions. It was raining but we were still about to sit outside under their covered patio. Our service was spot on and efficient.

Kylee M.

Yelp
Sitting by the water was the absolute best part of my visit to Fish House Grill. Super calming, especially during the sunset. Sat practically on the water of the inlet. So so pretty. Got the peel n eat shrimp, lemon pepper fries, and popcorn shrimp. All were a 10/10. So good! The seasoning on the fries were amazing. Service was so quick. The waitress I had was so incredibly sweet and patient. Got sat quickly and food came out quick. Definitely a must stop if you're in the area. Especially just for the pretty view of the inlet!

Yelp
Service | Views | Salmon Service - I have to shoutout the manager and hostess that were working the night my group came in (17 July 2021). I was in Wilmington for a wedding for a friend and the wedding party decided to grab dinner at 7:30 PM on a Saturday in July without previous reservations. I showed up at 7:15 PM and explained we needed seating for 24 people. The staff was able to sit out group at two different tables (one of 10 and one of 14) in 40 minutes. Which is amazing. We can't say enough about their flexibility to work us in during a very busy time. Views - the restaurant is right by a pier with a good amount of middle sized fishing boats and private boats. It is pretty good spot to see the sunset. The restaurant has room for about 120-150 people outside and half have good views of the water. Salmón - I had the salmón sándwich. Overall it was pretty good given the price point. They have options for blackened and various levels of "time" on the grill/pan. The biggest critique is that the complements (bread, tomato, lettuce) were not curated around the meat. The salmon was in the standard 8-9 oz strip. But everything else came out as a circle. Therefore multiple bites had little to no meat. Overall, it was fine. But, if I go back I'll try something else for sure just so I can have a more consistent main course bite for bite. Pro tip- there isn't a lot of parking, so Uber/Lyft KD preferred. Pro tip - they have a holding pattern that easily sits 50 people. So our group hung out with drinks for 40 minutes while they worked our group in for our tables.

Yelp
Today, I had some time before my next appointment so I decided on having a late lunch. The Islander chicken sandwich with fries was what I ordered. A good amount of bacon and flavor in this sandwich. It was just right for a lunch. If you need a coral reef aquarium like the one next door at the Bridge Tender, I know a guy.

Valerie M.

Yelp
Decent food. Server very sweet. Froze amazing. Mahi was very salty. $60 for two at lunch. Nice view. Hostesses not particularly welcoming.

Richard C.

Yelp
Food was outstanding service was great and the Ambiance being on the water was great! We had land food and fish it was great for all 5 of us! Coming back for sure! Loved it!

Yelp
Enjoyed a gorgeous view of the inlet and ships as we we relaxed with a tasty dinner. The prime rib was the special and it was especially good!! The salad with a grilled shrimp was yummy and filling!

Anne D.

Yelp
Stopped by Tuesday evening around 6pm. Quickly seated on patio with great view. One order was grilled salmon platter which came with broccoli and seasoned rice. 2nd order was mahi sandwich on sesame bun with fries. Salmon was very good - flaky and cooked well. Broccoli was bountiful and well cooked (slightly Al-dente). Rice was a little dry, although seasoned well. Mahi sandwich was well seasoned (maybe a tad salty on the blackening spice), but very good. Fries were fine. Overall, a great meal. Our server was quick, friendly and answered all our questions. Would definitely return.

Tina H.

Yelp
Food is always good and generous portions. Server was friendly and food came out quick. Love eating dinner overlooking the water

Craig R.

Yelp
Great service, mediocre food -- fish was overcooked and didn't seem like it was fresh.

Yelp
Fish House Grill was recommended by a friend who used to live in Wilmington, so naturally I had to come here on my first night in wrightsville beach. Regarding covid precautions, they did well with social distancing folks and sanitizing tables between guests. It was a Friday night so there was a bit of a wait (an hour) but we were able to go to the bar to grab a drink while waiting outside. They accurately predicted the wait and we were seated with a view of the water and boats which was really nice. The service here was great! Our server was on top of everything and recommended trying different sauces (all made in house). My friend really talked up the crab melt so I went with it. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It was a bit too rich for me with the cheese and crab but I do know my other friends really enjoyed it. I did enjoy their curly fries which were crispy and flavorful. I also had their take on seafood gumbo which was fantastic! Though the crab melt wasn't for me, I'd still recommend checking out Fish House Grill if you're in the area and looking for a casual dinner spot with great seafood options.

Pamela B.

Yelp
1. Location wonderful. Sat out by the water & loved it. 2. Service is phenomenal. 3. Food is okay. The fish tacos need some sprucing up. Fried shrimp plate was good. Nothing was bad with any of it. Just mediocre.

Myah S.

Yelp
This was our first time here and our last. Our server and service was amazing and attentive, however, the food left much to be desired. We started with calamari, onion rings, and the nachos with pulled chicken. The calamari and onion rings were not fresh. They tasted prepackaged and frozen. For dinner, we ordered the mahi stew and clam chowder, both tasted fresh out of a can. We had burgers, shrimp tacos and a philly cheesesteak. The burger was burned and had no seasoning. The philly was dry and the tacos were not good at all. Quite literally, a cold tortilla with warm shrimp, shredded cheese and pico. For this to be a restaurant on the marina, we were expecting fresh seafood options. The food did not look like anything advertised on social media. The views are service are amazing, but you can't eat those things for dinner.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite for lunch with my husband after going to the beach. It's a relatively convenient location if you are spending time at the beaches in Wilmington, and when we went, there was plenty of parking available in their lot. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options, and we were able to be seated right away. I ordered the Hawaiian tuna wrap, and it was a fresh, delicious, and healthy blend of Ahi tuna, mixed greens, pineapple, applewood smoked bacon, sriracha, in a flour tortilla. It also came with blue tortilla chips and salsa. My husband opted for the mixed greens salad. There were several menu items that also looked tasty that we'll have to come back to try! Our food was delivered very quickly, and our server was very friendly. The prices were on the higher side for a casual dining spot, but they weren't unreasonable. I'm sure we'll be back when we're in town!
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Excellent, polite and quick service! Our server Brady was phenomenal and made the experience very enjoyable. The food was good for the price, and being next to the marina was quite nice as well. If you're looking for a more laid back place after the beach, this is one of the better options!

Daniel M.

Yelp
It was good. For the price could be better but enjoyed the food and outdoor seating. The ranch was mid and the portions for the meats were smaller than expected. Service was nice.
google avatar

Ernie C.

Yelp
I really loved this place! We had a great dinner with the family. I tried the mahi fish stew. I really like the tomato based soups and this stew had a great flavor with chunks of fish and potatoes, it was delicious. One of my daughters tried the fried crab sandwich that she enjoyed. My wife had the blackened salmon and it was very good. My son really liked his mahi-mahi fish tacos. All the way around the table every one enjoyed their meals. I wish I could remember the waitresses name because she was great with a fantastic attitude. I am going to have to come back for more of that stew before we leave the area later this week. You have to try this place if you like delicious sea food, great service and fantastic views of the marina.
google avatar

Dani N.

Yelp
I'd recommend planning to eat here during off hours, meaning not at typical dinning times, as the wait can be absolutely crazy and there's not much waiting space to hangout in. There's no reservations and no waiting space inside, so you will be chilling out in the humidity until your table is ready. The views are beautiful and the food is actually pretty delicious, but the space is small and very touristy, especially on nice weather days. I've tried to get a spot here for dinner a couple times in the past, once in Summer and once in late Fall and both wait times for a group of 4 were around 1 - 1.5 hours. However, a friend and I went around 6 pm one night in the early Spring and snuck a couple seats at the bar with just a 5 minute wait. So smaller parties may have better luck grabbing those first come first serve seats at the bar inside (though there is no view there). The servers usually seem pretty stressed out too trying to get everything done quickly in the heat and keep things flowing. We didn't have the nicest bartender in the world either, and my food came out about 25 minutes after my friend's did which was strange because we pretty much ordered the same thing. It was just a little chaotic, I guess. I ordered the cake cakes on a pretzel bun with curly fries and a citrus beer from Wilmington Brew Co. I wouldn't recommend the beer, though the size was more than plentiful. The fries were out of this world good, like better than I'd ever had before. And the crab cake "burger" was amazing! So salty and fattening but absolutely scrumptious. If you're into Southern food and fishy goodness that "burger" really hits the spot. The menu had a small but nice variety of typical seafood and American style options for reasonable prices considering the location. We also got the Key Lime Pie for dessert which is huge and so whipped - pleasantly feeds 2-4 people. Parking is a little bit limited but all free once you find a spot. Drive around a little bit and look for tow signs in the neighborhoods, and you'll be good. This is located right on the Intracoastal waterway so if you're lucky enough to get a seat outside you'll be able to watch the boats go by and admire the beautiful sunsets on the water. Locals, I believe you are able to dock here or at least close by if you're coming in from the water. The outdoor seating also has plastic covering in the case rain does surprise to make a surprise appearance as it tends to do in NC. Hopefully that's more than enough info for ya! This is a cool spot but it's also a touristy area during on season and can get way too crowded. I'd recommend it as a nice casual spot in comparison to the other restaurants near by the water. Probably my favorite go to because it's not too "fancy" or expensive, but still has good food, decent options and a beautiful view.

Aimee C.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place is so busy. Really not great. The view war the best part about this place. Food was mediocre at best.

Teresa W.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of the marina. Service is good and food is delicious. We go there often in the Summer.
google avatar

Leyla M.

Yelp
Food was not great. Had "blackened" mahi mahi tacos and "curly" fries. Fish was definitely not blackened. Taco was mediocre at best. Curly fries looked like they were the end of the batch. There were maybe 4 real curly fries. Service was awful. I think there was a shift change but our waitress never came by and forgot everything that was asked for. Only go there for the view. It's very beautiful.
