Where to Find Delicious Fish and Chips Around D.C. | Eater DC

"Though not a traditional fish-and-chips offering, the Park View institution has a large selection of fried fish (catfish, red snapper, perch, trout, tilapia) as well as French fries available. Order by weight and consider the spicy mango sauce. The cheap price point makes this DIY order one of the best deals on this list." - Tierney Plumb

*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CASH ON HAND* *NO CREDIT CARDS APPLE-PAY CASH-APP ACCEPTED* STRAIGHT CASH ONLY! Customer service was exceptionally attentive, as this was my first visit. All staff members provided clear explanations, ensuring my understanding. Each item is sold separately, so for a 1Lbs is $12.99, that’s two pieces. The whiting Fish was exceptionally large, and I highly recommend it, rating it 10/10. I also ordered macaroni and cheese and collard greens, collared greens which received a 5/5 rating. While they are slightly pricey, all sides prices range from $5.50 to $6.00. I plan to return to this establishment. The operating hours vary: * Saturday: 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM * Sunday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM * Monday and Tuesday: Closed * Wednesday: 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM * Thursday: 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM * Friday: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Don't expect anything fancy, but you can get good fresh fish and seafood and some selected sides. If you go late in the day before they close, they may not have any desserts. But the food was fried perfectly it's so crispy and crunchy. I hope that you can buy it and eat it immediately. It's really good.

Neighbors, next time you walk past an ATM, make sure you take some cash out, because your tummy will thank you later. With cash in hand you can go visit this neighborhood treasure. I ordered a one lb black bass for myself with collar greens and hush puppies. Everything was fantastic and seasoned to perfection. If you have not graduated to eating whole fish yet, there are plenty of filet options. Looking forward to try other sides on my next visit!

Aite I took y’all’s suggestions, & I got some fish to put Capital City Mambo sauce on!! This time I got their 12 ounce Sweet Heat flavor!! You can still get their 32 ounce off of @instacart & @costco or both!! . Where I am: with @capitalcityco . Location Reviewed: Fish in the Neighborhood *No Social Mefia presence, or website* with @capitalcityco . Items Review: Their Crinkle Cut Fries (with salt pepper, & Sweet Heat Capital City Mambo sauce $4). STAMP!! I personally love crinkle cut, hot, fresh, & the spiced up Mambo took it to another level!! Their Collard Greens, & Mac n Cheese ($4 each). Both DELICIOUS. Good, I just needed some more seasoning!! Their Fried Shrimp (1/2 pound of fried butterfly shrimp with Sweet Heat Capital City Mambo $11). STAMP!! The shrimp was perfectly battered, & fried, the Mambo just siced it!! Their Fried Whiting Plate (4 pieces of fried whiting with bread $15.85). STAMP!! Reminds me of those back in the day fish plates off H street, with a spicy Mambo twist!! Their Half n Half ($4). Indulging in the traditional flavors of boiled fish at this fish restaurant was an absolute delight. Each bite was a testament to their expertise in preserving the essence of seafood in their own recipes. But it wasn't just the fish that stole the show; their coleslaw, surpassing even the famed KFC version, added a refreshing and flavorful complement to the main dish. For seafood enthusiasts craving a culinary adventure, this establishment comes highly recommended. From fish to prawns and everything in between, it's a seafood lover's paradise.

Google
Love this place! Hush puppies are some of the best I’ve ever had. The fish is so fresh. They weight it and prepare it how you desire. It’s delicious. It reminds of all the seafood places that have unfortunately gone away with time. The owner is so nice and funny. If you enjoy fried or broiled seafood and fish, this is your place! Keep in mind that it’s Take Out only.

Fish was perfect and customer service was polite and down home . I love this place worth every penny

Google
Glad this establishment is still around even with all the fancy changes in the area. Nice to have a taste of real cooking that serves up food that reminds me of grandma's. Fried fish always on point. Simply put, if you're uptown and want to get some good food, can't really go wrong here at all. I didn't even get a chance to post any photos because the food was that bomb. Quick Update, was so good that we had to go back again. This time for fried Catfish and fried Trout. Pictures added from 2nd visit.

Yelp
The fried catfish is just out of this world. The fish is so buttery and soft and the coating is flavorful and crispy without overpowering the fish. I also got the hush puppies which I found just fine. Super crispy, which is nice, but I didn't really taste the corn - just the frying oil. Probably won't order those again but I'll definitely be back for the fish. A few sauces were included which is nice. Glad I didn't order extra sauces. But really the fish doesn't even need a sauce.

Yelp
Before it was "Fish in the neighborhood," it was "Fish in the 'hood." Before that, it was "Bill's seafood kitchen." Yup, that's how long I've been coming here. So needless to say, review well overdue. The neighborhood has definitely changed over the years. But this place stays the same great and crispy way. Spending all my summers in Maryland meant I spent every summer in Maryland, DC, Baltimore, and Virginia, too. A family full of foodies with a van full of hungry kids means we always ate really good, and I ain't talking about McDonald's or Hardee's either. Places like this, Fish in the 'hood was introduced to me by my brothers/cousins in Howard years ago. We always run through the entire DC and MD areas when I come through. Fried Catfish, Shrimp, Scallops, Mango sauce, Hush puppies, and Broiled snapper is what we came for. Truth is, I really missed this place and wanted the nostalgia of it. My crew could not stop talking about how crispy and well seasoned everything we got was. After a few drinks, we started to wonder why he ain't selling the mango sauce by the gallon because-yeah-its like that lol Fish is always well seasoned. Crispy and light. The Shrimp are battered properly, and the oil is good to go. The Hush puppies are something I don't get everywhere but always got here. The slightly sweet but somehow still savory taste is one of the better combinations here on earth. If the Scallops weren't so pricey (market priced) I'm sure I'd get 5lbs worth. Very tender, right natural sweetness, just the right amount of briny and crispy but delicate. Broiled snapper was fresh and well executed. We loved whatever hotsauce they gave us. I'm glad to say that the flavors are still the same. The service is still great. The place is still clean. Bills Kitchen might not be simply Fish in the 'hood no more. But one thing I'm grateful for is Bill is still most definitely in the kitchen!

Yelp
Let me just say that the boiled salmon is on point, but the crabcake is not. There was too much filler. I'm not sure where the lump was since I didn't have much. Next time, they need to clean their grill so the crabcake will not look blackened. Will not return for the so-called lump crabcake.

John W.

Yelp
The food was great. Everything was fresh and ready to go when I arrived. Friendly service. Remember "Cash only"

Yelp
Fish in the Neighborhood is well worth the drive from Charles County, MD and everything is freshly made to order. One tidbit is to have cash as the establishment does not accept cards as payment ‍

Yelp
The first time I went the service and food was good. I went back on Friday 10/13/2024 at 7 pm they were closed. If your not going to be open a sign should be posted.

Yelp
An absolute gem. We got croaker and flounder, both fried. So fresh and flavorful. And the crust was still hot and crunchy after 10min walk to home. It's worth the wait. The portion is big tho. Next time we will get just one fish for two people with some sides.

Yelp
This place is an original. I'll give it that. Very DC. My experiences as a customer have run the gamut. I appreciate the fish dishes here. They're fresh and cooked nicely. I always go with broiled fish and never been disappointed. The other foods offered, such as hush puppies, greens, potato salad and desserts, get high marks too. During the pandemic, it's been open and kicking out good eats. Truth be told, I used to dislike the wait involved, but the fish I've had over the years is pretty fab, so I've come to embrace the "ways" of Fish in the Neighborhood. It's got quite a history, too much to go into here. But that story of struggle is what makes Fish in the Neighborhood the wonderful fish spot it is today. The proprietor is a nice guy; a true survivor. I do love it now. But it took some time to get to this point. It's a bona fide pillar of Park View/Petworth. Friendly reminder: it's cash only.

Reggie D.

Yelp
I ordered chicken tenders and whiting. The chicken tenders were tiny, decent, and nothing special, but they give you a lot of them(could have easily made them at home). As for the fish, I was expecting some of the best fried fish I've ever had, but was mistaken. I got the whiting, while they do give you two big pieces, the flavor was nothing special. As for the customer service, it was really good. I'd give it a 7.6 out of 10 overall.

Katie W.

Yelp
Fish in the neighborhood is good could be better but good. I've been twice this far with a day or two in between the visits. The second visit the food was better. Tasted more fresh. I think the first visit the grease was old. Everything is à la carte. I wish they had more of a menu.

J G.

Yelp
Fresh fish, cooked well, but not well seasoned. Also, it's cash only, which I didn't realize before. I had to hit the ATM before ordering. Otherwise, it was a nice experience.

Yelp
Disclaimer: have not had the pleasure of trying this food. I have no idea when this place is open. We've tried to come here to pick up dinner three times over the last year and every time we come during business hours, the place is locked up. Yes, I've tried calling to find out first. No luck-nobody answers. Super disappointed because I'd like to try it!

Yelp
I was devastated when Fish in the Hood was closed down for all those months, but I'm so happy to see they're back! Black owned establishment off georgia ave that's been around for a minute, so glad to see it's outlasted the effects of gentrification and hope to see them around for many years to come. Where do I begin, the food is ROCKING. I've never had anything from here and been disappointed. Whether it's fried or broiled all their seafood is so well seasoned and cooked fresh to order. The sides are just as good! I usually get the whole piece of salmon broiled, with cabbage and greens as my sides and MAN. I can't even begin to articulate how good it is! I switch it up and get fried oysters, clams, shrimp, various types of fried whole fish. Basically anything from here goes off. It's a market setup where you choose your seafood raw, they weigh it up, you tell them how you want it prepared and what sides you want and wait. They only take cash so be prepared for that, if you don't have any there's an ATM on-site. There's limited seating inside and some outdoor seating but my favorite way is to enjoy at home. The portion sizes are insane, I'm a heavy eater and I always have leftovers. The staff is really kind, but the other customers coming in always make the visit for me. It's never a dull moment in this joint, whether I'm running into local celebs, politicians, or one of my neighbors it's always a good time in the waiting area of fish in the hood. Overall really quality seafood market, gets the stamp of approval from myself and my family and we does this seafood thing so that's saying a lot!

Yelp
Amazing!! I love this place good go to Friday fish spot! The service was amazing and the neighborhood vibes are there too!!

Yelp
Great food variety of food to choose from all fresh made the fish selection is good the sides are enough to pick and choose which ones to choose is the issue so I got 4 side orders some hush puppies also yummy

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for years and the product and service has remained consistent. Even before I began dining here personally, my family has had a good relationship with Bill and his business. For me it's always fried whiting and potato salad. I believe this place has some of the best, if not the best, potato salad in the DMV. And if you haven't heard, the mango sauce is king! Whenever I want a good fried whiting I travel from wherever I am in the DMV to Fish in the Hood. Want that perfectly fried fish? Crispy on the outside, not to bready, and meaty and flaky on the inside? Search no longer. Tell them King H sent you.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 (Takeout) Atmosphere: -- Value: 5/5 ----- This place is awesome, by far the most fun little gem I have discovered in my neighborhood area. They're takeout only right now, and you can call ahead to place your order. You get the food and pay through a small window through the door - they make it work! I got the fried catfish, the fried shrimp, and the mac and cheese. You order by the pound/half pound, etc. They have fried and broiled options. Seriously, the menu is unbelievable. It was DELICIOUS and lasted me 2 days haha. The fried shrimp when fresh are amazing - butterflied and so juicy. The fried catfish make for a great leftovers sandwich as well. They also come with tons of great sauces, try them all! Overall, would 100% go back, and bring everyone I know. Can't wait to try all the rest of the options as well.

Yelp
Oh My Goodness!! What a pleasant surprise to my taste buds. This fresh seafood carryout is open and serving up deliciousness. You place your order via intercom and they make your meal to order when you place it. The wait time was not long at all but, it was early in the afternoon. The prices were decent too. My Whiting was meaty and fried well. The cabbage (w/no meat) was Ah-Mazing!!! The potato salad was okay. Definitely going back very soon! Enjoy

Shayla M.

Yelp
Seafood was super fresh and the fries were delicious. The tea and lemonade were on point too. Cash only so make sure you bring some to cover your costs. Customer service was on point.

Yelp
I have lived in D.C. nearly a decade - almost half of my (short) life thus far, and few restaurants in the city have stood the test of time on my favorites list... This isn't just a carry out spot, it's a special place. I have always been frustrated by the lack of quality fried and grilled things in D.C. I am a southern transplant, so fried food is what my life is sustained by. I felt like a desert wandering soul who had just reached fresh water after months of searching when I stumbled into this place many years ago. They have plenty of fresh fish options for whatever your heart my desire. Everything is made to order and the fish is priced by the pound. I really enjoy the fried shrimp (1/2lb is about 5 pieces). But my favorite thing here is the fried catfish. Hands down, it is the best in the city. The filet is generously sized. Somehow I can't help but order two, knowing good and well I'll only be able to eat one before I am full. They do the absolute least when it comes to seasoning and fish batter, yet it equates to the absolute max. It is *SO* good. If I could make catfish like this at home..... phew chile. I've tried just about every side. The only ones I don't love are the cole slaw, potato salad, and string beans. All of these can be hard to make... exciting. The cabbage is solid, but not seasoned well by itself - so I always have to add a little bit of hot sauce. Candied yams are great. The cornbread is cakey and so dense! I love it. Personally, my preferred sides are macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and french fries. Sprinkle some old bay on them crinkled bad boys and its like a party in that lil styrofoam container!

Alexxis R.

Yelp
So delicious! Perfectly seasoned. Not overly salty and perfect price. Def going in my regular rotation

Yelp
Came back to DC and tried this little gem. It's truly a hole in the wall that is amazing. One of the best crab cakes I've ever had and it was so big. The fries weren't that great but all of the other sides were amazing, as they should be. It is cash only so that poses a slight issue but make it work. It's amazing and worth it.

Cooky H.

Yelp
They haven't been open.....what's going on???? Found out that Mr. White was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. He now has septis. There is a GoFundMe page for him. Facebook look under Gina White.

Yelp
The food is always Bomb! I wishing this owner much success! Hopefully he will get a better spot the more we support. Anytime I go it is worth anything I go through to get it. Best fried shrimp in the DMV
google avatar

Yelp
We spotted this shop while driving into DC. It was probably one of the best fried fish I have had since moving to the US 21 years ago. We had the fried perch and tilapia. Also wanted to get fried clams but they were out of it so got the oysters which were very moist and tasty. Our food came with few different sauces and the one with little smoky flavour was my favourite (sorry not sure what it is called) It is clearly a neighbourhood fryer, but it is an excellent one, so if you are around stopped by you will not be disappointed I am sure

Yelp
You need to come here, my mom visited me for the first time and this was the first place I took her to to eat, no fancy place, not even a place that takes credit card but a place right down the street from where I was living and walked into this spot that is literally down the street from me. Why? The fish here is fresh and then it's cooked to order while you wait. I brought my mom there for the fish, but I ended up getting the crabcake. Why? I'll tell you why, because for the price it was HUGE and not filler. On top of that I liked their sauces. The spicy one was balanced just right between heat and flavor and not just the easy way out by putting a bottle of Frank's or Tabasco out there. My buddy was nearby so he came down too. He got the mango sauce with his shrimp and I had to fight a little to get a taste; keep in mind I've known him for decades and our friendship almost ended over sauce. Our friendship is solid, but the mango sauce was that good.
google avatar

Natasha P.

Yelp
I love supporting when I can. It's out of my way but oh so worth it. Don't forget to BRING CASH!!!!! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and the fish is the best-fried fish in the area! I usually get the fried snapper and fried shrimp. I have never experienced anything less than fresh here. You will not be disappointed:)
google avatar

Shantal W.

Yelp
BEST FISH SPOT IN TOWN!!!! I got the broiled salmon, crab cakes and fried cat fish and all of it made me want to cry with joy! It was so flavorful and the portions were huge! Ate off the salmon for another 2 days! The mac and cheese and yams were also cooked to perfect! Don't pass on this neighborhood gem!
google avatar

Kei K.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, especially after reading the reviews! Smh This place is mediocre at best. You go in there, choose your fish, they weigh and cook it. Normally I post a receipt but the Spanish guy didn't give me one, OH...and it's cash only!!! He didn't give me the ticket so I'll know my number. When I asked for the ticket, he replied 'I gotchu'. The cabbage was DEFINITELY cooked in butter! ‍ And the fish, I don't think they used a drop of seasoning.......The 2 fish were about $6 and I think the cabbage around $3. The half n half was the best thing there and even that tasted ashy!!! Ctfu I'm being gracious by giving them 2 stars!
google avatar

Lucas C.

Yelp
Their food is great, cheap and delicious. Great servIce and environment - this is a local place for local people that will treat you like a regular even if it's your first and last time. Their clams are without equal, same as the crab cakes but EVERYTHING IS GOOD. I would note that it can be a little slow when busy, but I still feel they deserve five stars. Go and eat here - I promise you won't be disappointed. I vouch for this place- and if you're a New Yorker you know the weight that carries.

K K.

Yelp
Google clearly says open Sat til 8:30. Ride all the way there only to find it dark and closed at 7:15. Then the people on the street said he doesn't open when it rains?????? WTH?

Yelp
I have been trying to contact this establishment on several occasions and to no avail no one has answered the phone at all! I wondered whether they are in business at all; if anyone has been able to catch them when they are open and doing business please write a review on when they are open and what are the hours of operation! I would greatly appreciate any information concerning this seafood carryout!

Yelp
Tonight I brought my dad to the Bernie rally on Georgia Ave, it was incredible. The crowd was completely psyched and my dad was impressed. On the way back to the car, he saw this fish place called Fish in the Neighborhood. Now understand, my dad is an amazing cook. He said, "These guys know what they're doing." So we stopped for dinner. The fish was FRESH, whole, and packed in ice. We ordered a red snapper and a rockfish, fried with the heads on, and a few sides. They also offer broiled, but we wanted fried. Some folks called ahead so that their food was ready to go when they walked in. While we waited, Dad and I talked about how Bernie was different because he's honest about the fact that he doesn't just want to beat Trump (and he will), but that he actually wants to make the country better for working people. Other customers agreed and we gave them our Bernie signs leftover from the event. Fish in the Hood has a super-friendly community-oriented vibe. The fish was INCREDIBLE. They cut them in a way that made it easy to get the bones out. They also offer fish fillets without any head or bones, but my dad said, "Everything tastes better when you cook it with the bones." And not surprisingly, he was right. The batter was light, not too oily, but still so crispy and flavorful. The fish itself was delicate and flaky, perfectly cooked, not dry or bitter. With the heads on I could get at that extra tasty meat that's there inbetween the bones. The sides were OUTSTANDING. Potato salad that explodes with flavor in your mouth. Collard greens that are what collard greens are supposed to taste like, flavorful, savory, not sour. Hush puppies that were a hot and crispy fresh. And candied yams that were maybe there best I've ever had. In fact, everything might have been the best I've ever had. Fish in the Hood is DELICIOUS. Wherever you are in the DC area, make the trip.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place again today - as it had been a while, but I was left disappointed. I got my usual catfish, cut into nuggets, but it was really doughy, not the normal fish fry and had no catfish in it...just some small random pieces of a white fish. The yams were good, but the greens had no flavor. Not sure what the deal was today but I had to throw the fish out. Will give it one more try in the future.

Yelp
I had planned to visit another fish place in Maryland and decided to try another spot closer to where I was that day. So I did a search and came across Fish in the Neighborhood. Boy, am I glad I did!! I ordered the broiled whiting, candied yams and collard greens. The whiting was cooked well AND seasoned well!! The yams were sweet but not to the level of diabetic coma...thank goodness! The collards were also well seasoned with a slight firmness to the greens which means not all the vitamins and minerals weren't cooked out. There was enough food for me to have two meals. Best decision I made that day! Will be going back to try other menu options.

Yelp
I found this place after a quick google search for fried fish eateries in the area. I read the reviews and thought that it would be worth a drive from Fairfax to see what all the hype was about. And boy, It was soooo worth it! I wasn't fully prepared because I didn't know that it was Cash Only. No problem. They have an ATM inside even though I opted to go into the CVS up the block. Everyone was very friendly, both staff and customers, and they didn't mind explaining how the ordering process works since I was a first timer. We purchased the tilapia and whiting fillets and they were AWESOME! The fish is cooked to order so you will have to wait but there is a tv and again the people are friendly, especially the owner/cook Mr White! So I didn't mind. The portions were enough for us to share and have left overs. The yams were just like home. The mac n cheese was good and the coleslaw was a great compliment. I'm not a big fan of everyone's tartar sauce. In fact, I usually make it myself when I fry fish at home. However, their tartar sauce was very good! The mango sauce as well! I am originally from the Deep South and I have been in this area for about five years now and not until this day did I feel that I had FINALLY found a good fried seafood restaurant. I have not had fried fish/southern food this good anywhere else in the area and I have tried quite a few to include Oohs and Ahhs and Horace and Dickies. No one compares! I will definitely be back in the near future and I suggest anyone else to give them a try too! It's worth the drive! PS. Don't be scared off by the prices either. You do order the seafood by the pound but for three sides and our fish, it was still only $22 including tax. Not bad at all for fresh seafood cooked to order!

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp so decided to try it out after the Auto Show. When we pulled up it was packed inside which is always a good sign. It's hard to find parking so we had to circle a few times but it was worth it. You pick out your fresh fish from the glass display, they weigh it, and then cook it to order. You pay by weight so don't let your hunger drive you to buy too much like I did...LOL the fire fish was great....my mom and I had whiting, my husband had catfish, and my Aunt had a whole croaker!! Everyone loved their food. The sides were great -- tasted like somebody's Aunty was in the back making them! We had mac and cheese, green beans, and yams. Definitely a great place to go for fried seafood! I docked them one star because it's 2020 and they only take cash ‍.

Yelp
CASH ONLY: The food is so good here. I found this place on accident and I love it. The fish was nicely seasoned and breaded properly. the sides are good. I was a little confused at first because there are no clear directions on where to order. I ordered whiting and 2 sides and my girlfriend ordered catfish and two sides. We honestly could've shared one meal between the two of us. Everything is made to order so we waited about 30 minutes for the food but we were not disappointed. The location is very small so we just walked to CVS because they didn't carry the typical condiments only hot sauce? A little expensive as we paid about $40 for two meals with nowhere to really sit and enjoy them( we ate in the car), but the taste is great.

Yelp
First and foremost, welcome back. This may be on the egregious side on my part but I ordered Chicken strips at a fish spot. I eat fish but it is far from my favorite dish. I entered knowing this and knowing that I was bucking convention that I was going semi-rogue. The owner was behind the counter and chipper. The tv was tuned to the news and my order was made without any attempts at upselling nor any derision. O.k., o.k. That allayed my suspicions right there. I was expecting some store bought strips fried in-house. I was wrong. These were battered from house made batter and fried there. They tasted homemade and that I appreciated that. The other element of my chicken/fry combo was the dipping sauce. I am an extreme lover of BBQs but this was something else that I loved. I would hate to find out that it was honey mustard because in my mind, I hate honey mustard but whatever it was it was hittin! Great services for take out, I can't eat here too too much since I'm getting older and can't do a whole lot of fried things but this meal was legit, plain and simple

Yelp
Fish in the neighborHood is back after a remodel from a fire and it looks great. Their specialty is the fried shrimp and the scallops, but I had the Black Sea bass fried, with a side of Mac and Cheese, all just as good as I remember. The fried salmon is a great option, and they'll broil anything they on the menu if that's how you want it. The quality and freshness of the seafood is much higher than you'd normally expect at a neighborhood fried fish spot. Finally the owner and staff have always been very friendly and I'm happy to see them reopen.

Yelp
The food is cooked to perfection! The inside is really small, but the outdoor, covered seating makes up for it. If I were the owner, I wld invest in an outdoor sink so customers can wash their hands after their meals. Excellent staff. Excellent experience.

Yelp
Best crab cake and really amazing fried fish, and their mango sauce. Sides are divine too, mac & cheese especially like legitimately Southern-made. But lately, no answer when called or they close at random hours. Just got to it on a Wednesday night at 7:30, and closed....

Yelp
Listen...I went here for my birthday lunch and literally was in a complete coma afterwards. I'm pretty sure between me and my friends we ordered one of everything on the menu. The fried whiting is so good with the mango sauce. The broiled shrimp, insane. The side dishes like the Mac and Cheese, yams, and collards taste like my auntie made them - so yummy. The staff is also super sweet!! Make sure you bring cash or you'll have to use the ATM located inside the restaurant + play the surcharge.

Yelp
Delicious food and they fried it and got it out quickly. I recommend ordering over the phone though, but even though I walked up and ordered I was out within 10 minutes. Highly recommend the catfish.

Yelp
The owner is dope! Loved this man's energy. Fish cooked fresh as ordered. This place is a gem in NW DC. Located near Howard University on the infamous Georgia Ave. I cannot believe I have not visited sooner. Now I got fried catfish and paired it with mango sauce! OMG perfect. Please note that this business is a," CASH ONLY," establishment so make sure you hit that ATM prior. I guarantee that you will leave with your take out full and happy. Now for my yelpers that are worried about safety Georgia Ave is gentrifying so,"Fish in the Hood's," demographics are changing however the food has not. Just get it to go if you are worried however if you are a bit seasoned and cultured you will do just fine. People of all walks of life know and love good food.
