"Fish King is the best seafood in town. They have just about every type of fish imaginable and will cook it in just about every kind of way. You can go there to have a sit down meal, or just simply purchase something from the fish counter. It sounds cheesy, but when you’re at Fish King, you feel like family. Inside you’ll meet friendly staff, including our good pal Eddie, who’s always ready for a fist bump and a good fish recommendation. "Most people leave Fish King with wrapped-up halibut or salmon steaks under their arms to cook at home later. Not a bad idea, but also be sure to grab some of their poke, too. Glendale's favorite seafood market serves old-school Hawaiian poke (the owner’s family is from Oahu). There’s no option to customize—every bowl is just a hefty scoop of marinated fish over rice and seaweed salad. "“I’ve been feeling increasingly like Moana lately, trapped on an island (my house), not allowed to leave. Unlike this Disney heroine, I’m not going to get in a boat to find Dwayne Johnson and defeat an angry Polynesian god. But like her - I assume, since she was on a boat for a while - I want to eat some extremely fresh fish during this movie. Fish King, the Hawaiian-ish spot in Glendale, is the ideal place for it. In addition to serving Hawaiian-style poke, they’ve also got a great fried fish sandwich, grilled fish plates involving everything from bonito to mahi mahi, and clam chowder, all available for takeout and delivery. "We adore this Glendale seafood market for its big case of poke up front, and back kitchen that does fried fish sandwiches and clam chowder. But in one corner is a less-heralded but equally great feature: a sushi counter putting out simple but standout rolls at grocery store prices.
