Where to Eat the Best Ceviche in Dallas-Fort Worth | Eater Dallas

"Seafood of all sorts is on the menu at this Bishop Arts newcomer, but the ceviche is not to be missed. Go for the classic ceviche mixto, a heaping portion of fish and shrimp marinated in a citrusy tomato sauce." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Stopped in for early dinner Wide variety of seafood choices. The rice and vegetables were really good. Grilled shrimp were a good size. Unfortunately they were overcooked and over seasoned. Very salty, dry and chewy. Be aware of homeless outside They are aggressive.

Google
What a fantastic spot for seafood lovers! I’ve had the chance to try their shrimp boil and shrimp cocktail, and let me tell you—they were absolutely incredible! The staff is super friendly and ready to help, and the whole restaurant shines with cleanliness. Plus, the prices are just right! You definitely don’t want to miss this place!

We ordered our food and the young lady was very sweet! The food was very delicious and fresh! It was very hot when I received it. The fried catfish and shrimp was very crispy and delicious. The fries was crispy as well! My brother got a tilapia and he said it was very delicious! Highly recommend coming here.

Google
Need I show more? Fish tacos were delicious with the Chipotle Sauce to kick up some heat! You will have to ask for more sauce though, but don’t be afraid of the Greek Salad !! Intimidating, but not exaggerating it was delicious!! Enough parking, wheel chair accessible, and plenty room to sit. Bring those healthy gurus if you have to, but save the rest for us!!🤣 Get to it you all

Google
The place is a vibe. I'm sure after 5pm it is so much fun. The food is delicious. I had a whole catfish. However my picture shows what is remaining after I ate.

Google
Visited here after a trip to the Dallas Arboretum and it wasn't bad. The oysters in fact were great and very well priced for this area. If that's what you are looking for then absolutely go for it. The ceviche however was a let down things did not feel fresh and the whole dish was overpowered by the vinegar. The atmosphere is minimal but plenty of TVs. This place appears to be very large group and kid friendly, lots of construction workers and contractors there too. The menu is extensive and I will say many of the fried dishes coming out looked very tasty. We sat at the bar and grabbed a beer. No traditional bar service really: just random people would just come out and check on us but we got everything we needed in the end including a 2nd beer. Alcohol looked to be focused mostly on margs and sweet beach drinks but again good prices. Overall not a bad spot, good food for the price especially the oysters.

Google
Food Was Good 😊 I got the shrimp boil & added corn & potatoes & sausage I didn’t like the potatoes it has an after taste. 😩 over all everything was good . The margaritas was on happy hour and had me feeling good 🤩

Yelp
Spoiler alert -- I am not a seafood lover. Unless it comes out of a can. But my friend is and we went to Fish n Tails on a Tuesday afternoon for their lunch special. She had the Catfish platter -- two decent size pieces of catfish and fries. Her plate came with tartar sauce and ketchup. I had the hamburger po'boy and fries. Mine came with ketchup and a mystery sauce. Probably ranch. The fries were steak fries and perfectly cooked. She loved the catfish and I enjoyed the hamburger although it was a bit messy due to an abundance of mayo. We both had iced tea. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Service was quite good. Tables were bussed efficiently especially considering that the place was quite busy for that time of day. Ambiance? Well, it's a fish joint. You order at the counter. You get your own drinks. You find a place to sit. And you eat. And you eat a delicious and fairly priced meal. Just a suggestion. The menu is on a board above where you order. It's dark and a little bit difficult to read. And it's extensive. Take a look at the menu on their website to get a general idea. Parking can be a little tight near the door. But it's a large lot.

Yelp
We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. I was not sure we would get a table because the last few times we went for dinner the restaurant was so full and the line to order was so long that we just left because there was no way we would get a seat. This place is crazy busy on weekends and evenings. It was to my pleasant surprise that we were able to get a table and the restaurant was not busy. I guess because we went during "Florida dinner hours" if you get my humor. Anyway, another great meal. The wife loved her shrimp cocktail. She got medium spicy and said it was perfect. The shrimp have no fishy taste or smell. I had shrimp tacos and they were very good. The shrimp was grilled and had a slight char which I loved. The avocado was good quality and not spoiled. The onion rings are excellent. Add some of the cajun seasoning and you have yourself a little slice of heaven. The kid tried catfish fillet for the first time and actually liked it. They don't have churros so I tried a piece of cheesecake. Sorry, it was not very good, but whatever. I had no business ordering cheesecake at a fish restaurant. No biggie. I just know not to do that again. Overall, despite the cheesecake, it was another excellent meal at a very reasonable price. Quality of food and service is excellent. We will be back.

Yelp
The fried shrimp was excellent! Enjoyed the fish. Onion rings were ok. I have ordered online from here before & it was too excellent

Shirley H.

Yelp
This concerns the restaurant on Buckner. I found the food was excellent! My husband and I would highly recommend it! Everyone was so nice and helpful!

Nika W.

Yelp
Great food with large portions ! Customer service is fast af, so pull it together before you order

Felix H.

Yelp
The best place to eat in CASA LINDA, DALLAS, or anywhere in North Texas! EXCEPTIONAL friendly service Fare prices and fish that is not over-seasoned. Great menu and atmosphere.
google avatar

Brad U.

Yelp
The service is very casual, you place your order at the desk. The menu is likely too extensive. We had the catfish with oysters and mahi mahi with crab. The catfish was average. The oysters were subpar. The fries and hush puppies were fine. The mahi mahi was subpar. The service team appeared on edge, maybe just post holiday fatigue. We will wait a while and try another location.

Christie H.

Yelp
Food needs season!!! The fried shrimp was pretty good but overall NOPE. A wide variety of food and c the customer service was good.

Yelp
You have to eat with the old folks (before 5) if you don't want to stand in line to order. We ARE old folks, so it always works out for us. The service is always good, fast, and friendly here (and at the Garland location). If onions give you reflux and you think cilantro tastes like soap, you're in luck...you can order the shrimp cocktail without those. As you can see, they don't skrimp on the shrimp or avocado and even the mild has a nice little spicy kick. The pineapple salmon has a creamy pineapple sauce that is so good. The salmon was a little over done but still well seasoned. The side salad is always fresh and is plenty to share. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault!

Paulette G.

Yelp
I finally visited fish and tails and will share with you MY personal thoughts and opinions. I arrived after 4:00 pm happy hour had started. I seated myself not knowing to order at the counter BEFORE seating myself . Signs should be posted alerting new customers to place order at counter. The manager was at the bar and he took my food and drink order. The fried fish and oysters were delicious, Tartar sauce wasn't to my liking and fish without it is like fries with no ketchup. It would be nice to have good music during happy hour. Their prices were affordable and very decent for my purchases. The restaurant was clean. The attendants were cleaning and replacing condiments as each table cleared out. Staff were NOT friendly nor welcoming. The manager was extremely attentive and welcoming but staff were very different. I normally do not tip when I order, seat or get my own condiments. I never understood the reasoning of tipping just because you purchased food at a restaurant . There was a tip jar near me when I placed the order and Due to the courtesy of the manager I placed money in the tip jar. The tip jar read that the tips would be shared amongst staff . I regretted placing anything in the jar after finishing my meal. When I asked questions or for help they responded but definitely grudgingly. I will definitely go back to Fish and Tails. Hopefully, staff will be in a better mood but the fish need no changes because it was good!!!

Matt N.

Yelp
Tasteless fish. Add cayenne at least. They fry it up real nice but it has no flavor. I'll stick with Big Shucks on Mockingbird.
google avatar

Tee J.

Yelp
Ordered whole grilled catfish with fried okra and onion rings to go. The grilled fish was really good. Although I requested that the okra and onion rings be fried crispy, they weren't. I don't really care for soft okra or onion rings, so I placed them in my air fryer. That solved the problem.
google avatar

Eileen A.

Yelp
One of our favorite neighborhood places to go, freshest seafood and great prices. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
My radar is always up for good fried catfish at a decent price, and on Tuesdays for lunch (the daily special), this place delivers handsomely. For $9, you get two hefty nicely fried catfish fillets (about the same size or larger than Big Shucks), two hush puppies and your choice of fries, onion rings, or slaw. The quality of the food and the cook is very good, especially for the price. If you come here on a Tuesday between 11 and 11:30, there's a decent chance you will see me sitting at the bar (the best place to get service when you need anything) happily eating catfish and watching ESPN.

Yelp
Great place to get a quick bite to eat. I love the large Southern comfort, Texas portions given here. Sure, gluten-free is not their expertise but I do appreciate them being accommodating and recommending the food items on the menu that are more friendly to my gluten allergies. And the staff is very welcoming! All smiles here!

Southern D.

Yelp
I dine here often, this is the most affordable delicious seafood restaurant in Dallas hands down. The staff is super friendly & professional!

Yelp
Happy Mardi Gras y'all!! We stopped in for dinner on Fat Tuesday for dinner and drinks to celebrate, the atmosphere was lively and the restaurant had a really good crowd and everyone was having a good time. I ordered a hurricane cocktail and it was pretty good for the most part but the juice that they use was a bit thick and syrupy for my taste, it actually tasted a little better once the ice melted a bit and I gave it a good stir. They were not heavy-handed with the liquor, which is a good thing, because that can sometimes make a cocktail taste like medicine. Overall it was a decent hurricane and a good compliment to my meal. They did have crawfish but due to a paper cut on one hand and a snagged cuticle on the other, I opted for a safer choice and decided to get a fried seafood basket!! I got the catfish and oyster basket, it comes with hush puppies and I chose the onion rings as my side. Everything came out super hot and crispy, the restaurant was pretty busy so your food is not made until your order is placed and there is nothing like a piping hot meal. The breading on the catfish and oysters was crisped to perfection, well seasoned but my order was supposed to include four oysters and one of them was so tiny that I thought it was just some extra breading that had fallen off of something else. It was after I ate it, I then realized that was one of the oysters they actually counted as a complete piece after counting the remaining ones....boo! The hush puppies were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside just how I like them and the onion rings were golden and crunchy. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the items on their menu, especially now during Lent season.

Yelp
Seems good most of the time last time food wasn't that good and no tarter sauce on my to go order make sure to check your to go food no tater sauce ruined it and also no lemons what's seafood without these condiments

Yelp
Food is awesome , plenty of fried seafood but also more. Full bar with a tasty house margarita. All for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is somewhere between a Walmart and a Mexican fiesta but everyone is having fun and a good meal. Always packed so you know the food is good. The excessive florescent lighting is hard on the eyes, I wish they would re work the lighting in here but I still enjoy a drink at 4he bar and a fries basket

Debbie C.

Yelp
I really like this restaurant. It is always packed. The food is very good and prepared well. The service is good and the workers are friendly and nice. I highly recommend this establishment.

Trissy B.

Yelp
SERIOUSLY!!! I need to go lose weight I've been KILLING mojarra frita with rice and veggies and it comes with this BOMB orange salsa! I always get the rice and veggies to come with it! I work in Plano and I tried the one out there but I prefer the seasonings of the Buckner location I'm not sure how much money I've spent at fish n tails too afraid to look at my account my kids love it too!!! Yummmyyyy

Yelp
People, this is really good seafood!!! Easy to get to, but parking can be tight as this place is full some nights. You order at the counter, get your drinks to the right and find a table (or cheat like some and have someone stake out a table. Be prepared for large groups/families around you of all ages. It can get a bit noisy. There are some sports on the multiple TV screens around the dining room. I ordered the Combo catfish (2 plump, flaky with crispy cornmeal batter), 2 hush puppies, fries and 3 butterflied shrimp plus I added another shrimp. My GF had the friend oysters and onion rings. The food was really good! Prices were reasonable and we'll be back!
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
This place was a staple for my family and I to dine every weekend, through the years the customers service has declined unfortunately. The food is still great and reasonably priced, definitely packed on weekends that's to be expected. Baskets and cocktails are the best things on the menu on my opinion. Very family friendly place though.

Yelp
Came in to try the sea food since I had never been here before. Tried the shrimp po-boy and it was ok it was so so. Really didn't have any flavor. The fries had absolutely no flavor. My friend had the coconut shrimp and those were good you could taste flavor as soon as it hit your mouth all in all its about a 3 1/2 because of the shrimp

Yelp
this place is good if you like fresh seafood! im not a big seafood person, but my fiance loves it. so weve been here a few times and have taken her family who seemed to really enjoy it. she always gets the fresh oysters and i get the fried fish. we havent had the crawfish yet, but maybe next time. the prices here are not bad.
google avatar

Susie O.

Yelp
Always excellent food and service! Highly recommend! Fresh and great portions! We love the grilled menu and shrimp cocktail! Drinks are very tasty!

Marcus I.

Yelp
This company does decent catfish, but they have norijght to call themselves an oyster bar when the oysters served are the size if a nickel if you remover the breading. it doesn't matter how many you bu, tiny immature oysters do not have oyster flavor. I've included a photo of three of these oysters fully breaded by a fork and crackers to show I'm not exaggerating. Im suspicious of the photos with better oysters as I've never gotten normal oysters at this restaurant on Garland Road.

James I.

Yelp
I was very upset that the Casa Linda Buckner Boulevard Fish N Tail Restaurant changed the thick spicy sauce that used to come with the boiled shrimp and crab legs. Now very thin and tomato soupey. I hope this is not the case with the other Fish n Tail restaurants in Dallas. Will try the one on 75N and compare, then update this review.

Yelp
I absolutely love this seafood place! The food, ambience and service is always amazing.

Yelp
Best place to go Amazingly fast service and fresh food seasoned with perfection Yummy a must try I had the Daily Special Grilled Tilapia with fried oyster yummy

Adrian W.

Yelp
I'm going to give 5 stars to the fried baskets only. That's what I've gotten every time I have gone so I shall vouch for those items... plan to try the rest but so far everything has been really good
google avatar

CL C.

Yelp
Amazing fried catfish Incredible shrimp cocktails Cold brews and tasty margs. Great deflection no of condiments and crackers waiting on your table. Fast friendly service w hot wonderful well prepared foods. Clean and nice place to eat
google avatar

Shenell E.

Yelp
While the seafood was boiled well, it lacked in seasoning & flavor. The oysters also were over rinsed and tasted like water. The service was poor and not pleasant. I would not go again.
google avatar

Teresa L.

Yelp
Solid catfish and crab legs in Dallas! Yay! Close to the Arboretum in Casa Linda Plaza. Girlfriend invited me to lunch and this was her choice. She is a seafood lover as well. Hot fresh catfish, onion rings and cole slaw with a 1/2lb of snow crab legs. Recommend!!
google avatar

Chelsea O.

Yelp
Waited 30 mins standing in line to order. Was not impressed with the food - the veggies were undercooked. There were flys all around the place. I think the best thing I ate was the fries. Hard pass.
google avatar

Sammy C.

Yelp
I did not feel that any of the food was thoughtfully prepared. The fried calamari was ok, but there are plenty of places around that serve great calamari. The red beans and rice were served in a very thin soup broth with carrots. I thought at first they had brought me the wrong item. It just didn't come together for me or make sense. The gumbo, though, is what really made me sad, and the way someone haphazardly plopped it down on the table, spilling some and walking away with a nasty scowl just made me wonder if they already knew just how disappointing it was. I left wishing I still had an appetite so I could just go somewhere else. Casa Linda is full of amazing establishments and I like to give every place I try a fair shake. I did just that, and I can't recommend it to anyone at all. I think my spouse summed it up the best: "The saltines were the best thing I tried!"
google avatar

Dana S.

Yelp
The restaurant is very spacious inside and has a lot of food options to choose from. The lady who helped us was very patient. It wasn't very clean, still crumbs on the seats and tables. Food wise I'd say it's bland. The food was cooked well, but very tasteless, at least for the fish basket I got. They do give a good portion of food, but this would be better for someone who isn't a fan of spicy food or too much seasoning. I've heard other locations are better so maybe I'll have to try there.
google avatar

R D.

Yelp
Great seafood Super nice employees ,love the shrimp and scallops. House salad is large enough for 2 people or more. The fried shrimp basket is delicious.
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Now everyone to keep in mind this is a review during Covid. The catfish was good enough for me to try again, if a friend requested that we go to this establishment. But honestly I have to say I think Albertsons catfish is better when it's fresh out of the fryer. The fried oysters on the other hand was a extreme and total failure. They were tiny, about the third of the size of any other Fried oyster I've had. Not only were they small but Multiple oysters had bits of shell lodged in the oyster and breading. On top of that the oysters were extremely dry! Almost like someone opened up a can of oysters battered and fried them. The staff was helpful and friendly! So there's your two stars. Giving all that, I might give them another try when Cove it is over for the simple fact the restaurant is extremely close to work! And Cove it is hindering a lot of stuff.

Noemi C.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday afternoon and the line was out to the door. You have to order first and then the employees will find a table for you. We waited about 10-15 mins in line before we ordered. The employee who took our order was super friendly. I ordered a pound of the boiled shrimp with the spiciest flavor and some French fries on the side. My friends ordered the ceviche and Buffalo fried shrimp. Once we sat down, our food was ready in less than 5 minutes. The boiled shrimp were delicious, the sauce they use had a great taste to it and not too spicy where you can't enjoy the food. My friends also enjoyed their food and stated they would come back. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because I had higher hopes for their Michelada, it looked really good but had a weird taste to it. Definitely not what I'm used to. The margaritas were average. We also ordered a oyster shot and it was disgusting LOL definitely never ordering that again. Clean restaurant, plenty of tables, TVs for sports, and friendly employees, will definitely come back.
google avatar

I Was Here L.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was great. I really enjoyed their onion rings, fried oysters, and tartar sauce. I love that they include the sauces in to-go orders without you having to ask for them or make them off to the side (especially with COVID). I heard good things about the garland location but I never made it out there. I am happy that there is a closer one! The only downer: my grandma ordered the two catfish fillet+4 oyster combo and only received one of her fillets . That was not good. Check your order before leaving the restaurant!

Beatriz S.

Yelp
Good place to eat seafood and they have affordable alcohol drink. They are very fast with their service. I will definitely be back ‼

Mary H.

Yelp
I have eaten the catfish here many times, and loved it. The catfish filets were always big with fat pieces of catfish. I ordered my usual catfish today, and the catfish was smaller with more breading than meat. There was just a thin layer of meat. There were fewer fries also. I would much rather pay more and get thicker catfish. I will give it one more try, but if portions stay the same, I will have to find another place to buy catfish or fry my own.

David W.

Yelp
So on Feb 8, 2023 at around 12:00 noon me and 5 other guys from work go to here for my birthday. I order first we all get seated and about 5 minutes later they start bringing everyone's I order catfish some of the other guys order Catfish also there all eating after about 10 minutes I had to ask for my food REALLY and I order first. Then today 02/17/2023 we are our way and after we are seated these are bringing everyone else's food. Like 5 minutes goes by there are 7 of us. Everyone in our party is eating but me and they are telling jokes how this place Fish & Tails does not bring my food I have to get up and ask where is my food the waitress gets mad because I am asking they did not even makes my food till she ask the cook where my food was at this point I do not know if I will ever be back and the food is great but if I have to ask for my food I am not sure I want to go back!

Tina S.

Yelp
Dependable, tasty seafood. I got the Fried Catfish and Shrimp Combo and it was fresh and tasty and the fries were good. We also got the oysters and they were really nice. He got the Oyster Po Boy and liked it as well. You order at the counter and they call your name when order is ready. It was busy, but had lots of open floor space and clean tables, so atmosphere was good. Lots of big screens if you want to watch sports and have a cold one. We will be back
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
Good set up here and decent prices. Friendly wait staff, clean and lots of large flat screen t.v's. Been here many times since my first review and I'm always satisfied! Some one named Karen N. (how ironic) complained about the mask enforcement. It's up to the individual establishment to require that at this point. Hahahahaha.

James G.

Yelp
Large menu . Try the fry shrimp very tasty had it with onion ring great batter on the onion ring my husband had the fish said it Walton grease taste. We been twice . Will go back. Service is counter and a staff to bring it out fast ther is no ambiance but the food is great

Yelp
We loved this place when they first came to Casa Linda. The food is great and ample portions, service is good. I love that they have a full bar. We went last night, same good food and service, however...we chose to sit at the bar, close to the kitchen and I swear, they had the music so loud in the kitchen, I thought we were at the club. It was very off putting. (My hunny thought it was the music coming in from the speakers in the restaurant, but it was definitely coming from the kitchen....I know how those cooks roll). The place was also unusually rowdy for a Sunday night. There was a table of customers literally yelling and no management to ask them to stop. (maybe yelling at the "football" game?) It's usually filled with families and not so loud, but last night I just too much. When I go out to eat, I prefer a more relaxing atmosphere, especially when we're giving them our hard earned money! One other note: we love oysters on the half shell, but the shuckers need to learn how to shuck them properly. Especially since they give you little plastic forks to eat them. Due to the loud music and rowdy clientele, I don't know if I'll be going back. Okay, maybe for lunch. They do make a good grilled salmon.

Yelp
Went to the place first time about 4 weeks ago. I have been impressed by their food every time I go there. The staff is very nice and always willing to help. Food is great and fresh. Fish Taco, Catfish, Oysters, Onion rings , Ceviche , Clam Chowder, Greek Salad, Oyster Po Boy, Fries, Michelado , wine has all been great. I have only been to the Casa Linda store but I am so impressed with the food there. Alway fresh, hot and delicious. Thanks for coming to Casa Linda!! Jim B
