The food was fresh. The service was friendly and fast, and the space had a clean, relaxed vibe—perfect for a quick lunch or a casual dinner with friends. Great find if you’re in Tysons and in the mood for something fresh and satisfying!

Google
I’ve never had a more bland fish taco. How do you manage to get zero flavor from the fish? Their signature fish tacos are not good, I only ate half of one. I doubt that was cod as advertised and the oil it was cooked is obviously the cheapest. Poor quality ingredients and no seasoning. The best part about my lunch was the can of ginger ale. The service and staff are great however, that’s why they get two stars instead of one.

Google
Came across this just walking around the area and loved the fresh food and great flavors. Highly recommend the crispy chicken tacos and shrimp tacos. Reminded me of Rubio's a bit (West Coast chain). If you're in the area it's a definite hit!

Google
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always really good and pretty consistent throughout all the locations. The food is good and my favorite is the shrimp ancho taco platter with the chili lime sauce. The chips and queso are pretty good too and everyone else I have taken to this restaurant has enjoyed the food too. I definitely recommend!

Yaser A

Google
Nice ambiance, quick service, and delicious street tacos. I didn’t like the mayo based sauce in the shrimp ancho the hot sauce was much better. Everything else was on point. 3 street tacos were filling. Update: I’m upgrading to 5 stars I’ve been here multiple times since my initial review and the more I tried the more I liked this place. The rice bowls are wholesome and filling and the food is consistently good.

Google
Delicious! We ordered the chips and spicy salsa and the elote as starters. With the first bite of the chips and salsa it took me back to growing up in California, the salsa was so tasty and the chips were the perfect vehicle for the salsa. The spicy salsa is a medium not really hot. I ordered the grilled fish taco plate, some of the best fish tacos I have ever eaten. They had a great grilled flavor and the slaw was nice and crunchy. We shared the elote and I wish I had ordered my own, I will next time.

Google
Loved the tacos here! My favorites were the Blackened Fish and Ancho Shrimp seafood tacos—both well flavored and delicious. The Steak taco was okay too. Also enjoyed the Chicken quesadilla, which had a good portion of chicken meat inside. Prices are reasonable and service is fairly quick! Will be back to try more!

Google
Pretty good fish tacos. Nothing exciting. Simple ingredients. Kinda bland but I don’t mind. Flavor were good enough. Very small but good. Filled the hole and reasonably healthy. The signature fish was fried but nothing was greasy on mine. For a “signature” taco one would think it had something to remark about. Not. Pretty expensive so if you have a large appetite you may need burrito n chips n quac. Two tacos for avg size woman & a beer was just enough. Cost ~$18-19. Probably a one hit wonder for me but again, filled the hole so I didn’t buy out Whole Foods across the street.

Yelp
Quick service, very nice area with a good amount of foot traffic. Food was very solid! The crispy chicken tacos were flavorful and a good starter plate. Followed up with the Chicken Rice bowl and crushed it. Really nice flavors in all their foods. Perfect option for lunch in my opinion. Solo, date, or group friendly.

Yelp
Here's a refined version of your review: Fish Taco is a great choice for a quick, filling meal. The service is consistently solid every time I visit, making it a reliable spot for lunch or dinner meetups. With a variety of menu options, there's something for everyone--even the pickiest eaters. The space is clean, well-lit, and welcoming, creating a comfortable dining experience.

Neha A.

Yelp
So glad I discovered Fish Taco! Probably the best fish tacos I've had in the US. I tried the shrimp, salmon, and grilled fish and they were all excellent. Fish was fresh and I loved all the fixings - cabbage, corn, cilantro, etc. There was a kick to the tacos, but it was perfect for me. Fresh food that tastes like it's homemade, no pretenses, unlimited paper towels at the tables, and laidback atmosphere. I'll be back.

Aileen M.

Yelp
I love eating at this spot! The tacos are nice, fresh and flavorful. The service is always pretty quick and it's a great casual spot to come grab a bite to eat solo or with a partner/group of friend.

Trendy D.

Yelp
I love eating at this place!!! This time I think I ordered the wrong thing. Usually I enjoy all my food. This time, the blackened fish was too fishy in smell and taste. If it wasn't for that I would have enjoyed it a lot! I'm not going to knock off starts for that, because they're normally consistent with providing good fresh tasting ingredients. Ordered Rice & beans 7/10 Blackened fish taco 5/10 The ambiance is clean and casual. The service is good. They don't come to your seat, you order at the register.

Mark S.

Yelp
We love Fish Taco! I've been taking my team here since they opened and we keep going back. You can order individual tacos or some combination platters. There's something for everyone. They have Dos Equis on tap, which is nice too. The place gets really busy on weekday lunches, so get there early. Plenty of seating inside and out too.

David C.

Yelp
Aptly named, this quick, quality, (relatively) budget-friendly alternative in Tysons Corner is always sure to please any mood or crowd. While nothing here is exceptional nor different, everything is solid & with low margin of error; the only complaint being the basicness and perhaps lack of more aggressive flavoring in the dishes. Likewise, parking is validated if you park in the garage! Wish I knew that before coming here. Spilled milk, but only a nominal amount, eh.

Alexis B.

Yelp
The first time I came here was a great experience. I had the shrimp ceviche which was fresh, flavorful, had a good amount of shrimp and the fresh red onions, jalapeños, cilantro, and avocado. The portion was also great. Since my first visit all of the above about the shrimp ceviche has changed and not for the better. The second time I had about 5 shrimp and the third time which was today I had a good amount of shrimp and nothing else. I love the ceviche but on the fence about returning for it given the decline in quality and consistency of serving. To get my rating up I would love to see better consistency b/c at this point I feel like you are stealing my money. Aside from this, The ambience is always cute and the service is good and quick especially during the lunch hour to get back to the office on time. If you are in a rush go before 12 or after 1, I would no recommend ordering as much as the quality slips.

Danny B.

Yelp
When it comes to fish tacos, this place rocks! I do think it's expensive. I wouldn't come here on the regular due to the price. But, if you love fish tacos, this is the spot for you! There are several different styles of fish taco, you can go spicy, or on the more mango style salsa. The people here are great, food is served fairly quickly!

Layan Q.

Yelp
Hi I had a horrible experience at your Tyson's location today. Keep in mind I am a loyal customer and have been going to your restraunt for the past couple of years. Shrimp salad had wilted lettuce, shrimp not well done, my steak taco barely filled with steak, no toppings inside. My shrimp tacos rubbery and cold. What a waste of a meal and money. My total was almost 50$ and I threw it away!!! So disappointing

David H.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my shrimp bowl here and also recommend the chips and salsa verde. They have a lots of different options with bowls, taco, burritos, etc. It's fast casual but the food is better than most similar places. They give you a good amount of food for the money so you won't leave hungry. Service is friendly and fast here, you order at the counter and they bring your food out to your table. They have a good amount of indoor seating and also some outdoor seating so you can seat outside if they weather is good. They weren't too crowded on a Sunday afternoon but I'd guess they get crowded at lunch and the evenings with all the offices and apartments around. You have to pay for parking in the garage (booo) but they validate so it's free if you don't stay too long. This place is worth checking out if you're in the Boro and looking for a place to eat.

Megha D.

Yelp
I came here with my family for a quick Saturday lunch. There's paid street parking and there was plenty of seating when we entered the restaurant. It's fast casual, so we ordered at the counter and then seated ourselves. I had the blackened fish salad. Our food came out pretty quickly. I really enjoyed the lime vinagrette and the mango and jicama in the salad. The fish was cooked well and I really loved the way all the flavors mixed! Pretty decent spot for lunch.

Emma Z.

Yelp
I'm updating my review because Fish Taco has become one of my favorite takeout spots in The Boro. It's also probably my favorite spot overall for fish and shrimp tacos around Tyson's. The ratio of fish to slaw to tortilla is perfect. The tortilla chips are light and crispy without being too salty or oily. Lunch takeout is fast and easy. There are a few parking spots outside (right by Whole Foods) to quickly park for grab-and-go service. Whenever I have time, I really want to stop by for a meal on the patio, too.

Bob M.

Yelp
I really like the sauce that came with my fish bowl. Very fast service. I thought it was a touch pricey for fast casual dining.

Lord M.

Yelp
Good battered fish for the signature taco. I usually hit this spot when I'm feeling for a light meal (depends if I finish the rice and beans) then it becomes slightly less lighter. Good ambiance and can get crowded during the lunch hours. Overall best fish taco spot in the Tyson's area in my opinion.

Emily M.

Yelp
Tried fish taco for the first time after watching a movie at the Icon. Fish Taco is a fast casual restaurant where you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The food was really good and the restaurant is so cute! We started with the chips and queso. It was good but I definitely want to try the salsa or guacamole next time to see how those compare. I got the signature fish taco platter with rice and beans. The fish tacos were amazing and I will definitely be coming back just for those. The rice and beans were good but would be better with a sauce (which is probably what you would get in the rice bowl). My husband got the taco Tuesday special and really enjoyed his tacos as well!

Lar A.

Yelp
There are not enough good things to say about Fish Taco. For starters, I am VERY stingy with my 5 stars, and this place deserves it! The customer service was incredible, we got to interact and get to converse personally with the workers. Price wise, I felt you were getting a really solid amount of food, which is hard to come by in downtown spots. I got the blackened fish tacos. They were without a doubt the best fish tacos I've ever had. I especially appreciated the rice and black beans since it's the food I grew up on. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. With big booth seats for you to prop your legs up if you wanted. 5/5 stars A solid "A" for the letter grade.

Kristin B.

Yelp
Very good food! The service was nice. The street taco and the salsa verde were excellent! The rice and beans were a little bland compared to the high profile flavors amongst the rest of the food but everything was so delicious. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Great place.

Amy S.

Yelp
One of our very favorite places to eat in NoVA! Truly delicious food with generous portions at reasonable prices. Dont miss the salsa Verde and the blackened fish burrito.

lar d.

Yelp
The signature fish is OK but don't get this to go as it'll be very soggy my go to be the grilled fish to go. Place has definitely seen better customer service. The last few times I've came to pick up food. It seems like the employees either don't care or, don't believe you when you say your name for your order. Also, I noticed that there's extra charge for sauce. I get that some places people abuse this but I think it should be up to the employees discretion. On this occurrence, I ordered four entrées and one appetizer. Four rice bowls and 1 ceviche and all I asked for is one extra signature sauce but they told me that would be an extra charge. I think in order of $80 ($15 per bowl) should at least constitute an extra sauce and the only reason I asked for this was because they have forgotten to give me sauce on prior occasions overall I do think the food is good the service could use some help.

Janelle T.

Yelp
We were up in the Tyson's corner area and I came across Fish Taco searching Yelp I love Mexican, tacos and cute places... this fit the bill for the all three. Ordered the special mahi fried tacos that came with rice and beans or option to get a salad instead. The sauce was just spicy enough to make it flavorful and yummy. Fish cooked perfectly. Rice and beans were good too! Friends ordered the ceviche and I got to try that, super tasty. The tortilla soup was also ordered and enjoyed by a friend so I got one to go for lunch the next day! Atmosphere is nice. Outside seating too! Friendly staff. Would definitely go back!!

Claudia R.

Yelp
So, so good. Did one of the blackened fish taco platter that comes with rice and beans. Delicious! Also had the shrimp ceviche and I'm so impressed.. Very fresh, with the right consistency and flavors. Totally recommend! For sure coming back!!

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Excellent! Garage and street parking is available. There is plenty of indoor seating. The restaurant is incredibly clean, neat, and organized. I love the ambiance and decor. Employees are friendly, helpful, and hard working. Plenty of indoor seating is available. Once you've placed your order with the cashier, you will be given a number card. Place it on your table and a lovely employee will bring your food over. Restrooms are incredibly clean, as well. Tried their Chips & Guacamole, Elote, and a few Tacos. Everything was delicious from start to finish. High quality ingredients are used and you can taste the difference. B and I enjoyed every bite. So glad we got a chance to try Fish Taco. We will definitely be back.

Janet L.

Yelp
Cute spot for a quick bite. I would not want to mislead I that these are not particularly "authentic" tacos but they are really tasty! The outside space is also really comfortable and the staff will bring your order to your table if you site inside or out. My table got the chips and salsa verde and it was really good! There's a slight spice to the salsa verde and I could not stop eating it. Super fresh and worth the app price! I also got the signature fish taco which is fried fish with a refreshing slaw. I also got the steak taco and it was a generous size and well flavored. Would highly recommend for quick service and reliable meal.

Emily C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch and placed an order to go. I got a chicken taco, signature fish taco, and blackened fish taco. The chicken taco was pretty nondescript -- not necessarily bad, but nothing all that interesting and I think most could make a more exciting chicken taco and home. The signature fish taco was tasty but very fried. It was one of those fried dishes where I tasted fried coating more than the actual protein. The blackened fish taco was the star of the show...wish I would have gotten 3 of those! I thought this taco had a really great combination of flavors and I will absolutely get another one next time I am in Tysons. Three tacos for lunch set me back about $18, which I found a bit steep based on the serving of food (I was still a bit hungry after the three small tacos) so I would not add Fish Taco to the regular rotation, but I'd come back every once in a while.

Mimi N.

Yelp
Good ambience, a little outdoor seating which is great. I had a taco with fried fish and another with grilled fish. Both were good, the fried one was really good. Fresh and flavorful.

Shawn F.

Yelp
Great fast casual spot to get tacos/burritos in the Boro. I came for lunch and ordered the signature fish burrito. You order at the counter and they serve the meal to your table once it's ready. They also offer takeout. The burrito was great, I'm surprised how much they were able to pack into it! Parking is available in the garage or street nearby. Overall great experience and will be coming back again soon.

Cassie P.

Yelp
My new go to for fish tacos!!! I lived in San Diego for the majority of my adult life and so I'm pretty picky about fish tacos. This place was delicious and had lots of great options. The shrimp ceviche is so yummy... super limey but I like it that way and it's a killer price! The green salsa is on point as well and the elite was great too! I can't wait to go back and try more things!

Heather L.

Yelp
We are new to town and wanted to treat my VA family to some carry out but we needed them to tell us where to go as we have only been here a couple weeks. They sent us their order and the location for Fish Taco and it turned out to be the perfect carry out taco dinner. We all had some version of fish tacos (I did the blackened which was very good), the ceviche was outstanding as was the flan.

Hannah H.

Yelp
Fish Taco is located at The Boro, and this restaurant chain offers various starters (chips and salsa, tortilla soup, tostada, elote, etc.), salads, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, rice bowls, and even kid options. I had a get-together here for an early lunch, and I ordered: +Chips & Queso - a basket of a generous amount of warm tortilla chips came with a bowl of housemade cheese dip - the tortilla chips were slightly thicker, but I loved that they were well-salted and warm! The cheese dip was just okay; was a little thin and could have been more creamier +and two orders of the Signature Fish tacos - Baja-style crispy fish, topped with a shredded cabbage mix and a signature sauce, all in a flour tortilla; these were YUMMY! The fish was fresh, flaky, and had a great crispy batter that wasn't too thin or thick; there was a nice amount of the shredded cabbage mix (not pickled); the signature sauce had a kick to it and really complemented the fish! When you enter, you just place your order at the cashier and they give you a number; find a table, and your order will be brought out to you. Tables are cleared often, and the staff were super welcoming and friendly! The place itself is bright and cheery, and I really liked their decor. Near the cashier, there are cups for complimentary iced water, plasticware, and napkins. There are parking garages and limited metered parking spots around the area - don't forget to get your parking ticket validated before you leave! +Signature Fish tacos +friendly staff! +validation for parking offered +located next to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

Jacque A.

Yelp
My friend and I happened to be in the area, so we decided to check out this place. I'm so glad we did because they have the best tacos. Our server Ramon, recommended I try the Baja Shrimp Taco which comes with rice and beans. It was so delicious! It's a nice restaurants no need to make reservation. You pick a table to sit and they bring your food to you by your table number. I'll be returning.

Albani C.

Yelp
Delicious but relatively pricey. Can always count on tasty, quality tacos, though. Parking can be a hassle, so I always do pickup

Howard F.

Yelp
My family liked Fish Taco, but didn't love it. Probably better for lunch than dinner. However, I appreciated that, once I discovered that the chili lime sauce on my grilled fish tacos was mayonnaise-based, the staff were willing to remake the dish for me sans sauce, and I enjoyed the dish at that point. I also liked the salad, with salsa on top. You order at the counter and your meal is brought to your table.

Kathy T.

Yelp
Was super excited to try this place due to the great reviews, but the tacos just did not pull through. It is a bit pricey for what we ordered as well... My boyfriend and i both got the beer battered fish tacos and we both felt like the coleslaw was a bit too much for the fish tacos. The fish was not flakey and the crust was not crispy--slightly disappointing. What I would recommend: - shrimp ceviche: very refreshing/citrus flavor - ELOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would we come back? Probably for the elotes, but we will pass on the tacos.

Dee J.

Yelp
This one is hard because my experience at Fish Taco in Rockville is always consistent and great. However the tysons location is very inconsistent and this last time I was left very underwhelmed. I only gave three stars because of my Rockville experiences, otherwise I would only give two. Since the boro, is near my place, I stopped in on my way home from work to pick up my fave blackened fish bowl. What I received was what looked like fish sticks in a bowl. Not good and not blackened. Since it was raining and traffic was terrible, I couldn't go back to return it. So, after trying very little, I had to throw it away. As you can see in the photo, the fish sticks were seasoned but dry looking and definitely not blackened. I've never experienced this at Fish Taco. I think I need to stick with the Rockville location to have a consistent quality experience.

Diane Y.

Yelp
A solid lunch place at the Boro. During the weekdays, this is a popular spot for employees on a lunch break. When we came, the dining room and patio was pretty full. I ordered the signature fish platter, which comes with 2 beer battered tacos served with either rice and beans or a salad. The 2 tacos were served in flour tortillas, but they do have corn, if preferred. The fish was fried crispy and juicy. The slaw had a nice acidic and citrus crunch. It doesn't come with salsa so you'd have to ask for it. I was surprised the rojo salsa had some real heat to it, which added another depth of flavor to the entree. Food came out quickly and the service was great. Loved seating at the patio during a clear, sunny day.

Joseph S.

Yelp
I think I may have found my new favorite fish taco place. I can definitely see why this place has a name like that. When walking it they do have outside seating with umbrellas which is super cute and nice. They will give you a number when you order and bring the food to you. Their elote was pretty good but the star of the show was their FISH TACOS. I ordered 5 different tacos to give them all a try. Classic fish, blackened fish, barbacoa, carnitas, and chorizo. If I were to rank them from favorite to least it would be blackened fish, classic fish, carnitas, barbacoa, then chorizo. Most tacos come with a double tortilla. The fish was fresh and the flavor definitely packed an amazing punch. Staff was kind and provided some awesome recommendations too. COVID-wise: the tables are spread more than 6 ft apart, there is outside dining and everyone is wearing masks and gloves

Antoinette K.

Yelp
The blackened fish Taco with the pineapple sauce they use is the bomb! My husband and I have gotten other dishes, but this is my favorite, but whatever you get, you won't go wrong!

Chynna M.

Yelp
The service here is impressive, I've been here multiple times, and no matter how busy it is I still get my food out in a timely manner. I've seen customers be rude to some servers and they still have a positive attitude! The food is very tasty and honestly I can just go for the delicious elote and vegetarian burrito yum! The place is very spacious but my favorite place to sit is outside on their patio.

MC N.

Yelp
Best fish tacos in DMV. Hands down - Just know that the lunch time crowd can get very busy, so better to use their app and/or order in advance. Do it!

Elysa E.

Yelp
Personally I think these tacos are overpriced. If you're gonna come here only get the seafood tacos because the chicken and steak and Barbacoa tacos are underwhelming.

Dennis T.

Yelp
Decided to try some "tacos" when I was in The Boro Tysons. The menu had a pretty decent amount of fish and different types of combos. Ultimately, I decided to try the burrito instead because I figure it'd be the best bang for your buck. I believe the burrito is the best choice if you were going to quantity (how much you'll be eating based on price). Although the price of their tacos are about $3-$3.50, it still wasn't worth it, in my opinion (my friend got the tacos). The burrito however was very flavorful - they have this excellent chili pepper relish that gives it a nice spice. The tortilla they use reminds me of the chipotle tortilla. There was a good amount of fish in the burrito, too. I was very impressed with the burrito. I would definitely give it another shot if I was in the area. Nothing too much to rave about, however. Almost similar to Slapfish but slightly better in terms of flavor.

Stefan S.

Yelp
Really good food, and surprising it has taken me so long to visit, considering I make regular visits to other restaurants nearby to Fish Taco. I opted to get the Shrimp Ceviche as. I love a good ceviche, and this one didn't disappoint. It was a starter size, so it wasn't huge, but it had a good flavor and was a definite winner! I also got the Carnitas taco platter with rice and beans. I was expecting refried, but it came with black beans that were a little dry, but with the kicking red sauce provided, it gave it the kick it needed. All in all, it was a good meal, and I'll be back. They have such a large menu, it was hard to make a decision. Highly recommend!! I'll be back soon.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Fish Taco is so good! Dined outside with a friend. Plenty of outside dining and it wasn't crowded although it was on a weekend (in Nov). Love their blackened fish taco which has nice spicy kick to it and their chips and guacamole are yummy. Their food tastes "fresh." Also had their frozen margarita and it was solid. Two thumbs up. The staff is very friendly and wore masks and gloves at all times whether taking your order and bringing out your food. The only downside is the parking. Not a lot of street parking or a free lot. They do validate parking in the garage I believe for up to 2 hours. Other than that area overall is nice, especially to just get a bite to eat and chill. Fish Taco's food never disappoints!

Rob E.

Yelp
This restaurant is located between my hotel and my head office in McLean, so it is good for lunch or for dinner. I had the fried fish taco platter, which comes with two tacos and beans & rice for $14.00. The food was very good and stayed hot in the container for the 7 minute walk to the hotel. They have a good selection of tacos, which I need to try the next time. If you are nearby and looking for a meal, I suggest stopping here.

Mike W.

Yelp
Cute, and tasty but a little pricey for tacos. Went with a co-worker and she loves this place. Had the braised beef tacos but shouldn't be $10 for two tacos with no sides. Def a popular spot.

Shruthi N.

Yelp
A really good place for a quick fresh bite. Customer friendly and a casual ambience. The place has a good selection for vegetarian and meat lovers both. I'd like to come back to try a few more from their menu

Laurie W.

Yelp
Went to Fish Taco for the first time today - the Tysons location recently opened (I haven't been to any of the other locations). I got the blackened fish taco and the ancho chile taco; my husband got the blackened fish taco and the grilled fish taco. We also got a guacamole to split. We really enjoyed our tacos (although, I admit, Taco Bamba has the edge). The guacamole was good but I wouldn't get it again - it was a decent portion of guacamole but way too many chips. The guacamole portion should be bigger (or provide less chips) - we left a ton of chips once the guac ran out. The space is larger than I thought, very bright, and clean. I was quite surprised that while you order at the counter, they actually bring the food to you vs. you taking it to your table yourself. They will also clean up after you leave. Nice touches. One thing that caught my attention - it took the food (the tacos) a solid 10-15 minutes to get to our table - and it was early so we were 1 of 2 customer tables. If it's busy and that continues, I could see the food taking a really long time. Perhaps it was an anomaly but something I noticed...will definitely be back, though.

Ashley C.

Yelp
I love fish taco. Their steak salad is my favorite salad in the whole dmv area. It's fresh, dressing is bomb, and the protein proportion is only a bit outrageous (in a good way), ESP for the price point. I'm sitting here digging through my chopt salad trying to find bits of chicken, but the fish taco salad comes with so much steak that honestly, it's a little too much for me because I'm crazy and need enough lettuce for all bites. But anyways. You won't be disappointed. Every time I get it, I think to myself that it's amazing how much steak they give for the price. I love it so much that I haven't strayed to eat much of anything else there. Service is always great and the team is nice there. I've seen them greet someone who came in 5 min before closing time with a fat smile, while most other places would tell them that kitchen is closed.
