Where to Eat in Flushing’s Chinatown

"This enormous fast-casual chain in China landed stateside in the summer with a sole focus: Sichuan fish and fermented cabbage stew. The five broths hit up all the distinctive traits of Sichuan: spicy, tingly, and sour with sprigs of Sichuan peppercorns still on the vine. Take your pick of basa or snakehead (a thinner, flaky white-fleshed fish) fish fillets and toppings like enoki mushrooms. With rice on the side, portions are hefty." - Caroline Shin

Google
This is actually my third time visiting this place, but my first time coming with a group. Instead of ordering my usual hot boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili, we tried a few different dishes this time. My favorites were the spicy boiled beef and the green Sichuan pepper suancai fish. Both incredibly flavorful and pair so well with rice! Well, most importantly, this restaurant is extremely budget-friendly. Highly recommended!

Google
This place is super popular with the locals. It's packed for lunch when we came on a Sunday. The combo meals are perfect for 2. One app and one main with a drink to share. Since we were a party of 4, we ordered 2 combos and an extra appetizer. The chicken skewers was surprisingly good. The sauerkraut fish was DELICIOUS and was spicy even at the lowest spice level. It was overall a great meal. I look forward to eating there again.

Google
Got the signature normal portion and the spicy boiled beef, total about $52. The sauerkraut fish was very tender and the broth was flavorful. The beef was good and tender but the broth was ok. We asked for both to be small spice. The fish I give a 9/10 and the beef 8/10. Place can be a bit packed. I like how there's napkins and utensils in the tables. Staff was nice and helpful.

Google
This place was delicious, my family and i are not familiar with the sour soup fish dish that’s really popular amongst locals so we wanted to open our minds and give this place a shot. Our waitress didn’t speak english too well, but she navigated everything perfectly by giving us picture reccs. We chose the large combo of the signature and got the fried pork bites— also comes with two fruits drinks. This is a hearty, filling, and affordable meal. Parking is difficult, but will definitely return.

Google
Came here as a party of 2 and had a wonderful dining experience. I had a big jacket and they offered a bag for it and also a chair for me to put it on. We ordered the classic fish for two people and it was filling and an affordable price. Rice and added vegetables are included. The flavor was good and we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes during busy dinner hours.

Google
Fish Together’s Hot Splash Black Fish with Pickled Mustard Greens is such a banger! The fish slices are tender and almost boneless, the pickled greens add a tangy crunch, and that hot oil drizzle on chili peppers? Total flavor explosion. Perfect for rice-soaking

Servers are fast and efficient. It’s not a problem if you don’t speak chinese. The place is very busy but they will seat you right away. I ordered the one with lemon broth and it’s good. Big portion and definitely worth the price

Google
Crazy busy for an 11am on a Monday. Service was quick but environment was really hectic. The sauerkraut fish stew was really good. I ordered the blackfish and it was really tender. The beef skewers, however, were small and tough. Disappointing for $8.95 and I had no desire to try the glutinous rice cakes my husband ordered. I'll definitely be back if craving fish stew again, but won't be ordering anything else.

Yelp
I think this place is better than Tai Er and Nai brother (and certainly more reasonably priced than both) - probably the best sauerkraut fish I've had in NYC to date. I came by for a weekend lunch with 2 friends - they were pretty busy (the restaurant isn't the biggest) but we were able to get seated in 10-15 min. For the fish stew you can order either the large or small size, whose portion size they suggest is suitable for 2 people or 1 person, respectively. We ordered one large and one small option, and we ended up taking home enough for another meal later, but I think just 1 large wouldn't quite have been enough for the three of us. In any case, we had the snakehead fish / laotan pickled cabbage base 老罈酸菜魚(黑魚) and the basa fish with the "royal tomato" base 公舉蕃茄魚(巴沙魚). The suancai base was delicious, with a healthy kick of spicyness without being overpowering, and a nice choice of side dishes (big fan of the bean curd). The fish itself was really soft and yummy. Tomato base, in contrast, wasn't that great - the soup broth itself was too heavy/thick, but the flavour was nice (and the basa fish was fine). We ordered the snakehead/suancai dish as part of the combo set, which also came with drinks and the yummy brown sugar glutinous rice cake (紅糖糍粑) dessert. Price point was really solid (came out to less than $25pp in total, with leftovers!), which was definitely great value for the quality of the fish and portion sizes. Will try to come back soon!

Yelp
Flavorful hotpot at Fish For You where the Sauerkraut Steals the Show! Singing " I wanna fish with you.." sung to the tune of Michael Jackson's hit "I wanna rock with you" My recent visit to Fish for You was pretty impressive. The use of sauerkraut and peppercorns isn't just a garnish or for show; it's a palate awakening base that balances spice and broth perfectly. NOTE: They have other soup bases as well and can adjust to your spiciness level. The Sauerkraut fish Stew has generous fillets poached in a broth with pickled cabbage, chilies. You add in different sides like wood ear mushrooms, tofu, lettuce etc, based on the bowl sized ordered and pay extra for more sides. Someone commented in one review that the hotpot is deceptive, as the bottom of the hotpot is flat giving the illusion of a more full hotpot. This is true, but there is still plenty of food in there. They have a sign posted on the wall in Chinese, which translates " 3 bowls of rice to finish a single hotpot" Not a bad deal for rice lovers as the bottomless starchy grains are ideal for soaking up every drop of that delicious broth . Some notable highlights: - A pitcher of water with lemon slices at each table awaits you. - Copious amounts of napkins tucked in the table drawer in front of you. No need to chase down the staff for these essentials! - World class service team. The team is both attentive and warm, guiding newbies through ordering. They also serve appetizers, like meat skewers. I've tried the crispy pork and chicken, though crispy, it lacks the desired flavor profile like the spices used in Taiwanese cooking, It's ok, just not my favorite . It is difficult to find parking but worth the hassle. A must try!

Yelp
Fresh, Flavorful, and Unforgettable! If you're looking for an authentic Chinese hotpot experience with an emphasis on fresh fish, Fish With You is a must-visit! The menu offers a wide variety of fish options, all incredibly fresh and prepared with care. The. We opted for the signature suancai fish and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The signature fish soup base is rich and aromatic, packed with just the right balance of spices and herbs The staff were attentive and friendly, helping us navigate the menu and even offering recommendations for pairings. The ambiance is cozy , making it perfect for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. Be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak hours, but it's worth it. The quality and authenticity of the food at Fish With You are hard to beat. I can't wait to go back .

Yelp
Food is amazing as always, but today on July 15th around 3 pm. I experienced the cook dropping his big cooking spoon on the floor then proceeded to pick it up and place it right next to the same pot continuously using it. Im very thrown off and disgusted as Im witnessing and writing this review
google avatar

Meini C.

Yelp
Food is decent and fragrant. However, I would say the bowls they serve are misleading as half the bottom of the bowl is plastic so the illusion of the soup looks as if the portions are more than what they actually serve.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, quick service, and very reasonably priced. I crave green peppercorn pickled veg with basa fish at least every other week. My partner does not like the spice or sour flavors, so it's so fun that they're individually sized and he can order the tomato soup that isn't spicy at all, but little sweet from the tomatoes. The green peppercorn flavor here is so balanced, not too spicy and with just enough numb to give the tingle, but not overwhelming. After having lunch here, I bought a large to take home for the next day, since it's not as easily accessible in my neighborhood. I love the tofu skin and vermicelli noodles, they're so chewy and go well to soak in the flavors. Have returned back twice and would definitely come back next time!

Yelp
Came by for lunch the other day to try it out, find your own seats (or sit at any open table). I tried the set meal, hot boiled snakehead with pickled cabbage & chili small order that comes with brown sugar rice cake and passion fruit tea ($28.25 without tip). The fish soup dish was enough for 2 to share, huge portion. Flavor was ok, not the best I've had and is a little bland for my taste. But other ppl liked it. Good option to try in the area if you're looking for a spot to go. Clean and friendly staff, food comes pretty quick too.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this spot for a while, so was super excited to come here on a cooler day... Fish With You really hit the spot! Tried the snakehead fish in the princess tomato broth and it was perfect for someone who could not handle spice! The tomato broth was more thick with a very deep tomato flavor, and I would definitely pay the extra $3 to upgrade to the snakehead fish, as it was super soft and tender. Would highly recommend getting the lettuce as well (soaks up the broth super well) and the black fungus (they give you so much!) Rice is also unlimited here and it is perfectly al dente.... it paired so well with the soup, would definitely come back and try different toppings. Service and dining time is pretty fast, as most parties come in and out.

Yelp
Service: 3.9/5 Food: 4.3/5 Ambiance: super casual, good for couples, families, medium sized groups Very unsuspecting restaurant. Right next to some other popular places in Flushing. Decently sized + focused menu. Everything is a soup or an accompaniment. Really great bang for your buck. Large portions that are meant to be shared. Got a small, but had enough for leftovers. Their large is meant to feed 2, but could probably feed 3. Note: main entrees are soup bases eaten w rice. for noodles, add vermicelli as a "topping" Tip: tables have hidden drawers for extra napkins + chopsticks What I Ordered: ordered both small w bean curd + cabbage as toppings - Laotan Boiled Fish: spice hits you after a whole, not too spicy, a bit oily, EP says they give lots of bean curd - Princess's Tomato Fish: slightly sweet, fresh, I forgot this is what cooked tomatoes are supposed to taste like
google avatar

Yelp
I've been looking for a delicious fish pot place and I think I've found a classic one! Tried the sauerkraut blackfish and pickled fish one night, so amazingly gooood. We got it delivered and it was packaged well and so tasty. Good portions of fish and veggies. What really surprised me though what the brown sugar rice cakes, it was such a soft mochi, yes a touch oily but so so good I ended up finishing all of them. Will definitely be ordering from them again
google avatar

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, the waft of fresh rice and fish stew greets you. It is heavenly! And the workers are quick to address and seat you too. I heard everything down to their appetizers were delicious. We tried the Crispy Popcorn Chicken ($6.95) and they tasted similar to Vivi Bubble Tea's. There's an obvious batter taste to it rather than crispy. But they were piping hot and had a fun little spicy kick to them. We got the #1 Large Portion Laotan Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili ($23.95). All large portions come with a choice of 4 toppings to go into the stew, so we got the Tofu, Round Lettuce, Bean Curd, and Baby Cabbage. The food came speedy quick. While it looked like a lot, the pot itself was pretty shallow. The taste was so delicious, with a sour creamy spicy taste to it. The Basa Fish option was fish fillet, great in soaking up the flavor while also retaining the flavor of the fish. The spice was only 1 chili pepper, but we both felt the heat. I can't imagine any higher! Rice is unlimited, but I wouldn't have known if it weren't for the Yelp reviews. The traffic and turnover here was busy, but I can totally see why. I am already thinking about coming back soon for their Snakehead fish and their other stew options.

Yelp
I came here after seeing a post on Xiao Hong Shu and I wasn't disappointed! I arrived around 5:15pm and there was no wait. My boyfriend and I were sat down immediately and reviewed the menu. The menu is very clear in both chinese and English which is great for ordering. The seating was also comfortable and the inside was pretty clean and bright. (Bathroom is also overall clean). We decided to order a large Laotan Pickled Pepper dish (1 chili pepper spice level) with snakehead fish - sides were tofu skin, baby cabbage, wood ear, and vermicelli, and a small Spicy Snakehead fish (3 chili pepper spice level) with tofu skin and wood ear. We got a side of panko skewers (actually they are pork belly skewers). We then got 1 iced lemon tea and 1 wheat milk tea. One of the drinks were free because they have a promotion where you can share one of their wechat business videos onto your wechat moments and then get a drink for free. I really enjoyed my lemon tea and my boyfriend enjoyed his milk tea! Onto the food - the laotan pickled pepper was definitely yummy for those who love pickled pepper flavor. However I also wanted something spicier and this was not very spicy - the other dish however had more of a kick which was enjoyable! Next time I might order 2 smalls in different flavors to satisfy both cravings. The skewers were just okay - I wouldn't order them next time as they're small and didn't add much to the overall meal. I'd recommend coming here if you have a craving for spicy fish or pickled pepper fish and don't want to break the bank. Prices are overall very reasonable for the food quality, and rice is free and unlimited! I ended up packing away a little more than half of the small spicy fish to bring home, and the leftovers from our rice bowls. :) I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Fish With You is a unique Szechuan restaurant in Flushing that specializes in sauerkraut fish. Starting at $15 for a boiled fish dish, you can share a meal with friends and still have a lot of fish leftover for your next meal. They give unlimited white rice as well! There's options for both spice and non-spice lovers, and add-ins like bean curd, lettuce, cabbage, tofu, vermicelli, and wood ear mushrooms to choose from. Ben's favorite was the boiled fish with pickled cabbage and green pepper, while mine was the Princess' tomato fish. The fish is so tender, while the whole dish is full of flavor. Don't forget to get yourself an iced tea to subside the spice!

Rachel L.

Yelp
Very good taste of the Lao tan suan cai fish. Awesome northeast rice, that's must try. Fresh black fish slice.

Yelp
Ate here today for lunch with my sister and mom for me trying this out for the first time. We had shared together different kinds of dishes such as the spicy and non spicy fish with different toppings that it tasted great and delicious that we got a side of rice to at least satisfy our taste. The service there was also attentive. We couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Yelp
The name Fish With You always makes me think of the Makoto Shinkai anime "Weathering With You". Its not what brought me in here because this place has nothing to do with the anime - I came for their spicy fish soup! FIsh With You was surprising larger inside with its tables lining the right side. The left side has an army of rice cookers keeping warm all you can eat rice with your soup. Since I came with some friends I was able to try a few of their dishes. My pick for the group was the Boiled fish with pickled cabbage and green pepper(corns - Sichuan type). I love this soup, but I must say I prefer Nai Brother's version more, but unfortunately they are a take out spot only. The pungent and spicy boiled beef was my second favorite. Perhaps because the other two were fish variations. We ordered snakehead fish in all because it was a little more money with the logic being it would be better, but I think I would have preferred the basa fish. Ginzhou sour soup fish and classic spicy fish were the other two versions. We ordered small versions of each and we all left feeling good, but I must say the actual content of the bowls were deceptively less than I thought. When you get to the bottom you can see their is a raised bottom so the seemingly large bowls hold less soup than it looks like. All in all, I would brave the propositioning ladies of 40th road to come back here if I was in the mood for this type of soup and sit down experience. Perhaps some tweaks to the order would up my rating a bit.

Yelp
Food (4/5): We ordered two sets. The first set was of Laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili. We got it with chicken slices and orange fruit tea. The other set was the Princess's tomato fish set meal. It came with panko skewer and passion fruit tea. All the soups, and appetizers were quite good although they could have stronger flavors. The chicken slices however could definitely be better because it was mostly flour and not much good meat. Service (4/5): Not particularly friendly and the server seemed to have limited English. However, the food came out reasonably fast and they were able to adjust the appetizers on the set. They also were nice and helped out; for example, when it looked like I needed larger napkins they got me some. Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant looks modern and clean. It was really well lit with one side chairs and another side booth seats. They also have the utensils inside a pull out cabinet of the table.

Yelp
I liked the spot. I'm a huge fan of Sichuan cuisine. I've never done fish soup before and enjoyed the meal. There's lots of flavors and the heat doesn't overpower the dish. The restaurant is a little snug but clean! Service was great, our waitress checked up on us and got us refills for the rice. Enjoyed the spot and look forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
TLDR: If you're fond of the boiled spicy fish in Flushing - this is a chain from China where they serve just this. If you're in the mood for some spicy fish on rice, this place is perfect. I like it - pretty simple menu, you can get small portion, large portion, combo meals, etc. Personally - I'd stick with the classic mala flavor. The pickled broth was good but I prefer just standard spicy flavors. Unlimited rice. Tasty, no frills and oh yes - no bones!
google avatar

Paula W.

Yelp
Love coming here when I'm craving fish. I've tried all the options so far and all are delicious and reasonably priced, with unlimited rice refill. The popcorn chicken is particularly yummy as well. Can get really busy during dinner time but the turnover is pretty fast. All the tables also has drawers for napkins.

Yelp
A nice and clean restaurant, good food and friendly customer service. Definitely a must try when you are in Flushing.

Yelp
This is an amazing place to get your fix of szechuan fish fillets because god knows there's very few places that can deliver the authenticity quite as well! You have your pick of different fish fillets and broth types. We went with the most popular version and it was delicious. The fish was tender and flavorful, and the broth base complemented it perfectly. The ambiance was chill and the service was fast as well.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
My family and i enjoyed the variety of soups you can choose from being the tomato base, szechuan, and pickled. I like both the fish fillet or snakehead but the fillet is more meaty while the snakehead is thinner. The soups also come with 2-4 sides depending on the size you pick. We got cabbage, woodear, bean curd, and tofu. Not a huge fan of the beancurd. They give you unlimited rice. We also ordered the popcorn chicken and fried chicken (thought we think it is actually pork) these were okay. This place is relatively small but very clean and bright lights. Service wasn't too bad but they aren't super attentive.
google avatar

Sillyrama A.

Yelp
If you like sour spicy fish, you'll want to try it here. I like their Lao tan fish the most. The others are good as well. Rice is unlimited. Service is fast and very good. For the price of the dish I think the portions are pretty generous.
google avatar

Julie K.

Yelp
This small restaurant is hidden away in the streets of flushing. The interior is clean and bright. You order dishes on your phone but if you have questions, the waiters are happy to help. You could stand up and get your own bowl of rice for free. The fish dishes were not my favorite, as the sour fish was very sour and tomato fish had an interesting tomato flavor. However, the popcorn chicken and skewers were juicy and delicious. I highly recommend the taiwanese sausage as it was thick and savory. For how affordable the price is and the amount they give, this place is definitely worth a try.

Yelp
New fav spot! Food and service 10/10. The place is nice and clean. Unlimited rice baby!
google avatar

Yelp
We tried out Fish For You in Chinatown, NY, and it was awesome! The vibe was cool, and the hot pot was on point. Staffs were so friendly and helpful. They were kind enough to not question much about our order since we were having a little food tour in China town so we couldn't order much. The food was tasty with the right amount of spices. If you're into hot pot, give it a shot!
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
I've tried their tomato flavor and laotan flavor, both were great with unlimited rice. The laotan spice level isn't too spicy, just the right level I would say.
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
I walk past this location on the way home from the LIRR, and it's always popping every week night. The fish is good and tender (we opted for a 2 person snake head meal). I personally prefer my food super salty (Nai Ges Saukerkraut fish is much saltier), but my boyfriend really enjoyed the food here! Service was fast and efficient as well. I can see why there's always a crowd inside!
google avatar

Ken R.

Yelp
Always visit this place when in Flushing , the food is awesome, flavorful, spicy comfort food. The friendly staff will give you a large bowl of soup with rice . Prices are very good and the place is busy, but they'll always find you a seat . Wish they had a place like this in New Jersey!

Yelp
Cuisine: 9 Service: 8 Decor: 8 Value: 8 Overall: 9 I really like this popular franchise from China specializing in fish. It makes some of my favorite Szechuan style dishes accessible for an individual rather than needing a large group in order to enjoy it. First of all, I love the bright and clean looking interior design with a modern appearance for this small casual eatery. Tables are mostly built for four people, with cool drawers that pull out for additional utensils and napkins. Servers are friendly too. Picture menus are easy to follow with pre-set combos on the left. Your a la carte fish (5) and beef (1) options are in the middle, and side dishes (2 free) are on the top right. After two visits, I have tried three of their five fish offerings. There are two choices, Basa and Snakehead Fish. Both options are pretty tender, but I do prefer Snakehead Fish. Here are my thoughts on the flavors. Poached Fish with Pickled Mustard (8/10) - If you like a soup that's a bit spicy, slightly numbing, and quite sour, then this is your choice. Very classic Szechuan dish that's usually served as a soup for a group. This version is not the best I ever had, but it was a very solid one. Pickled Mustard Fish in Golden Soup (10/10) - I don't know what to say except they found the perfect balance of flavors for me. Similar to the one above but the soup simply had more umami. Some Szechuan enthusiasts might say it needs more chili peppers or Szechuan peppercorns, but I don't care. It's perfect! Classic Spicy Poach Fish (8/10) - This is more like a sauce than a soup, slightly thicker, and definitely heavier. You can taste the heat from the spices and you will feel a tingly sensation whenever you bite into one of the Szechuan peppercorns. The bean sprout that comes with this dish is excellent to eat on top of your rice. Btw, did I mention the white rice is AYCE? Well, they have a dedicated rice cooker section constantly churning out more rice to help you digest all that spicy goodness. Nice touch! For the sides, which are cooked with the main entree you order, I love Baby Cabbage and Needle Mushroom because they absorb so much flavor. However, Bean Curd, Tofu, and Black Fungus really adds great texture too, so mix it up. On the middle and bottom right side of the menu are the snacks and drinks. Honestly, everything I tried so far were fantastic, especially the three types of skewers. These fried meats on a stick were all so tender and flavorful. I also had the Tasty Crispy Chicken (mislabeled, it's pork), which isn't really all that crispy, but is traditionally fried this way with a soft batter. If you don't mind that, it's tender and the sweet & sour dipping was tasty. Wheat Flavored Milk Tea was good, while the Iced Lemon Tea was average. This specialty shop does not have a lot of options, but enough variety to keep me coming back. Honestly, I know I'll be craving their fish very often. Without a doubt, I will be visiting regularly. Love this place!

Yelp
Quick service and seating on a Thursday night! Bustling with naive Chinese people so you know it's good!! Got the Laotan boiled fish with black fungus and cabbage - small and snake fish. it was so good!! and so well priced at $18 to share between two not to hungry folks! mild spice, perfectly tolerable for my mild spice level. Also tried the popcorn chicken and it was yummy but nothing spectacular. Definitely want to return to try the tomato one!

Yelp
The place is clean but tends to be crowded on the weekend. Service is good. Big portion. I didn't really like how they sliced their food. It looked very artificial as in machine chopped, rather than manually chopped. I've also ordered delivery from them. It is a good portion and well packaged.

Yelp
The laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili basa fish was amazing! It was sour with just the right amount of spicy to counter it. Definitely worth the travel to get to get it!!!

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to get fish fillet soup in flushing. It is nicely lit and if you share a moment on WeChat, you get a free drink. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good! The fish is very flakey and the tomato broth was delicious. The sauerkraut broth wasn't for me and I wish the skewers were more flavorful, but I think overall it was a great place to eat.

Yelp
We visited the restaurant on Saturday when they opened for the day. We were surprised that we were not the day's first customers. We noticed that the decor was nice and it was spacious despite the storefront being rather small. We ordered the large Princess' Tomato Basa Fish because we didn't want to try something spicy. Since we ordered a large, we could pick four sides to add to the soup. So we added black fungus, vermicelli, tofu, and bean curd. FYI, the rice is always free to refill when eating in. It was flavorful and filling with the sides, and we had a lot of the sides left over at the end. However, we didn't feel like the food had blown our minds. Overall, we would go here again and try their different soup bases and maybe their combos.

Yelp
This place is so so good and delicious if you like the Szechuan style spicy fish stew! We had the Boiled Snakehead with Pickled Cabbage & Green Pepper where it comes with 4 sides if you get the large or 2 sides if you get the small. I like this fish soup over the Laotan one because this one's spiciness is more about the numbing sensation in your mouth that is really just really good if you like Szechuan food. We also ordered the popcorn chicken which I thought was really tasty and I like how the proportion of chicken to the fried dough part was pretty well balanced. It also had a slight kick to it which I really like. As everyone mentioned, there's unlimited rice so you can ask for refill as you finish your first bowl. There was a good amount of seatings and it's a great place to enjoy the fish stew whether alone or with a group of people.

Yelp
came back for dine-in recently! we tried the classic spicy fish (picked tofu and baby cabbage as sides) and the fish with pickled cabbage and chiles (with black fungus and sweet potato vermicelli); both with snakehead fish. we also tried the crispy chicken bites. we both agreed that the pickled cabbage version is much better. the spicy version, while good, can get pretty heavy. the chicken bites were good and a nice addition to our meal. service was good and the place was still decently packed around 9 pm on a Sunday night. low-key, no frills kinda spot if you want Szechuan-style fish dishes, but without going to a proper Szechuan restaurant. i've recommended this spot to family and they're a fan too. will return for sure!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this relatively new shop tucked away amongst many shops on 40 Rd. Had the Snakehead Fish in Pickled Cabbage & Pepper soup which is pretty spicy but good flavor. Beef set included Spicy Beef soup, Fried Chicken Strips appetizer, and Rice Milk Tea Drink. Great flavor and very tender thick slices of beef. Soup comes very spicy so I was able to ask them to make it mild. Fried Chicken Strips were extra crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and very well seasoned with salt & pepper in the breading so the side of ketchup isn't necessarily unless you wanted to mute the pepper. Appetizer of Pork Belly skewers and dessert of Brown Sugar Rice Cakes rounded out the meal. Skewers were cooked just right with the pork belly (bacon) pieces still juicy to the bite and the Rice Cakes were sweet & crispy. Servers were very nice to explain everything on the menu and you can either order on the app/browser or via the server. Oh and unlimited bowls of rice are free!

Yelp
Suan Cai fish soup is amazing and this is the place to get in Flushing China Town . Ordered 1,2 with snakehead fish , pork belly skewers and more than enough for two. They use a special rice with unlimited refills and taste great. Place gets busy but service is quick and prices more than reasonable for this quality of food. Don't hesitate to make this a stop ! Recommend !

Yelp
Fish With You is a casual chain restaurant from China that serves Sichuan boiled fish. Service was good, although English is limited with some of the servers. The boiled fish dishes are delicious! They have combos available but you can also order a la cart. The small comes with two free "sides" (more like add-ins) while the large comes with four. Unlimited rice is included. The small is pretty large. Probably enough for two servings. I had the snakehead fish with tomato broth and with pickled mustard. The pickled mustard one is rated one spice level but it is definitely not mild. The pickled mustard soup is spicy and a bit sour, while the tomato is not spicy and sweet. I enjoyed the tomato one more. We couldn't finish our food so we took the rest to go. Delicious food and nice servers!

Yelp
Decided to finally try this restaurant after seeing it on Tiktok and XiaoHongShu. Stopped by on a Friday night for takeout and was pleasantly surprised by how many people were dining in (restaurant is on a quieter street off Main St). I ordered a large order Laotan Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili for 2 people plus 2 passion fruit teas. Food was delicious and just the right amount of spice. Fish was delicious and not overcooked. The employees were all very polite as well. Food took about 15 minutes to be ready which is pretty fast for a Friday night. Definitely will be back to try other fish dishes and the skewers too.

Yelp
I love boiled fish with pickled vegetables, and so glad that @fishwithyouusa specializes in it! I like the spicier version and the snakehead fish is more tender which goes really well with the soup base. Even the glutinous rice cake and other snacks were very yummy!

Yelp
I've been here four times now, and it's so consistently delicious. I always walk away feeling immensely satisfied. The value, flavors, and speed of receiving your food are all here in flushing. Boiled Basa with Pickled Cabbage and Chili - truly a 5 star dish. It hits all the notes of savory, salty, sour, warming, tingly. The fish is tender but won't fall apart under pressure from chopsticks. I really love adding tofu, cabbage, bean curd, and wood ear mushroom (they soak up the soup flavor really well). Beef skewers (not pictured) - tender, a little fatty, flavored well with cumin. Popcorn chicken - hell, even this is great. Good crispiness on the outside and juiciness on the inside. There's even a pleasing hint of spice.

Yelp
Delicious filling meal! Have variety of flavors to choose from, my favorite is the lemon since I don't like too spicy. Comes with either Baja or snake fish, comes with rice & 4 sides, got the black fungus, tofu, sweet potato vermicelli and cabbage, nice flavors!! Bill came to $35 with can of herbal tea & including tip for 2ppl, great lunch!!

Yelp
I came with a group of two friends and was able to share a large bowl! We got the pickled vegetables with fish, and I felt that the soup was really "clear". It wasn't super flavorful and there could be more "sourness" to the soup. Such a great place for some soup, and being able to sit and chat. Greatly priced!
