"Fishermen’s View is an Upper Cape institution, owned by local fishermen and brothers Bob and Danny Colbert, who have fished out of the Sandwich Marina for over 30 years. Fishermen’s View has something for everyone — a large restaurant and bar with beautiful light and views of the canal and marina, seasonal outdoor seating (often with live music) right on the marina, and a fish market with to-go options if you’d like to enjoy a meal at first-come, first-served picnic tables on the canal. The seafood options are boat-to-table and feature a raw bar, sushi, fried fish and clams, lobster and crab buckets, sandwiches and rolls, and more formal dinner options such as stuffed haddock, seared scallops, and swordfish steak. A side note for martini lovers: Don’t miss the pickle martini, which uses Grillo’s classic pickle brine." - Anna Darrow

Stopped by for lunch randomly when driving around cape cod. Beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating along with the bar. It wasnt too busy for a Friday afternoon. The complimentary corn bread they gave was delicious. Clam chowder was amazing!! Filled to the brim and so creamy and delicious. Grilled corn on the cob had a nice char and so sweet! Got a tuna sushi boat to share with my bf and we were so full! They did not skimp out on the fish at all. Each piece were thickly cut. Even the roll was stuffed with a good amount of tuna. Loved it.

Google
Even on a rainy day, our visit was absolutely worthwhile! The food here is genuinely amazing. We decided to share three different sandwiches. The lobster roll and crab sandwich were both outstanding, packed with flavor. The cod sandwich was unfortunately not very flavorful. However, the absolute highlight was the fried calamari. These aren't your typical calamari; they have a fantastic Thai or Asian-inspired flavor that's a must-try if you appreciate bold tastes

Google
Beautiful views and super fresh, well priced seafood! Husband said the lobster roll rivaled his favorite from our trips to Maine, and the fish tacos I had were flavorful and fresh. The red bliss potato salad is not to be missed, and the side of grilled corn on the cob was juicy. Service was great too, we enjoyed the live music and watching the boats go by in the very active marina. There’s a walking/biking path along the canal right next to the restaurant too. We moved our car after lunch and enjoyed a quick stroll.

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. They have delicious food to go with beautiful views of the canal. Great ambiance. Their sushi is fresh and our go to spot and order takeout regularly. Definitely check it out!

Ladyy Dyamond

Google
Loved the menu selections, the artwork on the walls for purchase. You must try one of the rolls (ie Lobster..). Who would not want to eat outside to watch the boats, birds, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Totally tranquil and relaxing while eating near the water. Next time you are in Sandwich, MA stop by you will not be disappointed. Highly Recommend!

Google
Lunch on a Thursday - everything was solid. Lots of options for groups with different tastes. Good portions, great flavors and presentation. Helpful service. And on top of that, a nice view of the canal traffic. Would definitely return!

Rob Novack

Google
Excellent, fresh seafood, caught locally with amazing views of the canal and will decorated interior. The lobster BLT was delicious and came with a good amount of lobster. New England clan chowder was also exceptional.

We stopped in from Eugene, Oregon. For our first time on the East Coast this place was perfect! Modern atmosphere and very kind staff. We tried a Half Oyster each for the first time and the waiter took his time to explain to us how to do it right. Shootout to Joe for the patience and kindness! Cape Cod is definitely worth the travel, we highly suggest this restaurant as a refuel station!

Yelp
Having only eaten on the patio in warmer months, wondered what it'd be like dining inside... The spacious dining room has multiple areas, we were seated in the room overlooking the water. Perfect, and another awesome dinner. --Chicken wings with dry rub was a great starter. Huge wings with a slightly spicy rub, served with tasty Alabama bbq sauce. --Potato wedges with horseradish dipping sauce another good choice. --The Caesar wedge was more than enough for two. --The swordfish special with asparagus and white bean stew was so, so good. Super fresh and expertly grilled. --And my non-fish eating friend enjoyed the double smashburger. Happy to see they offer Maine Lunch beer, often hard to find. Need to remember, next time, portions are huge and order accordingly. Service was the best. Wondered if we'd need a reservation on a 25-degree Wednesday night in January, but the dining room was packed at 6:00, so glad we snagged one.

Yelp
I had a really good experience here! Starting with service, everyone was very friendly, we were sat right away and our server was attentive and helpful. The food was so delicious. Everything tasted amazing and the fish was very fresh. The restaurant had plenty of seating, when we first got there it was empty but it filled quickly and everyone seemed to be seated rather quickly. Good vibe!

Yelp
We stopped by for dinner w friends who live in the area. Lovely clean restaurant a welcome staff. Plenty of parking. The restaurant was by the water w great views . Was nice w area lit up. Our waitress was very friendly n helpful. We started off w the corn bread which was yummy. Had the bang bang shrimps n fish Kung pao fish gif appetizers. Oh the bang bang shrimp were huge n had a delicious mango ginger salsa sauce. Yum yum . The kung pao fish was fried and w a tangy sauce n had peanuts peppers n scallions n was yummy. For entrees we got the beet salad was a humongous portion w plenty of beets but there was no dressing. I had the crab cakes. Had 2 crab cakes to an order w greens n yazu mayo. Our friends had the spicy tuna lobster roll n the crispy dragon roll. Large portions n couldn't finish it n took a doggy bag. Would have loved to have desert but there was no room. Thank you Fishetmeb's view for a great meal w lovely company. Sorry didn't take any photos. We will sure stop by again if we are in the area.

Yelp
Yummy food and nice atmosphere. We came at night so didn't get to see any views but the food was good. Good service overall.

Joyce C.

Yelp
The food was fabulous. The atmosphere was great. I love dining on the ocean. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very accommodating. We were there for an 80th birthday celebration & we couldn't have asked for a better time. Looking forward to returning soon.

Yelp
Great ambiance but dry sandwiches! Stopped by fishermen's view on the way back from the cape and was delighted by the patio seating with outside warmers, a view of the water, and live music. The hosting staff up front were not very friendly upon arrival but our server was attentive! We ordered both the knuckle sandwich and crab sandwich which were both underwhelming, dry, and not very flavorful. Overall, it was nice nighttime spot but definetly try something on the menu if you visit.

Christina A.

Yelp
Just wow. Seating here is limited for the porch- get a reservation. It was the perfect blend of a beautiful view with a slight breeze from the floor to ceiling sliders they left slight ajar. Great service- and I mean exceptional. Drinks were good and strong. This is on the second floor, but if you are mobility challenged there is a small elevator that goes upstairs. Restaurant is simply beautiful. The food was beyond amazing. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.

Ashley L.

Yelp
Though their name and location may point to classic coastal seafood shack, Fisherman's View provides an elevated menu of fantastic, thoughtfully prepared items. We started off with a simple California Roll off their sushi menu, however instead of using imitation crab the roll was stuffed with Jonah crab meat. It was so delicious I don't think I can ever go back to imitation crab - 10/10! For an entree I ordered the pan seared sea scallops, which was accompanied by pappardelle pasta, oyster mushrooms, and a creamy leak sauce. It was decadent but delicious, with the scallops cooked perfectly. My friends ordered the haddock broil, which was also delicious, and the grilled Atlantic salmon. The salmon was good, but my friend felt it could have benefitted from some sort of sauce to complement the dish. The ambiance was great, they were playing live music and the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
As someone who loves trying new places and is always on the search for vegetarian-friendly options, Fisherman's View exceeded expectations. It's a popular spot known for its fresh food and lively atmosphere- there is always a wait. I picked the nachos, which were delicious and came in a generous portion size, perfect for sharing or enjoying solo. The atmosphere at Fisherman's View added to the overall enjoyment of the night--it was bustling yet welcoming. The staff were attentive and ensured a pleasant dining experience despite the crowd. Whether you're into seafood or looking for vegetarian options, this restaurant offers delicious food, a vibrant atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience.

Yelp
We stopped in last minute while in Cape Cod and so glad we did! The wait for a table was an hour but we were able to sit out back and have drinks and apps. The food was delicious and the drinks were great and strong! We split the Crap Crostinis and guac and chips. Very good but I didn't like the price of the crab crostinis. $26 for 4 pieces. For dinner I had Clam Chowder- theirs is think and creamy - was not my favorite on the trip- but good! I also had the Cod Melt. I really enjoyed this sandwich. The bread stayed firm and crispy and the fish was a decent portion and perfectly breaded and not oily. I had their Bees Knees cocktail. It was a 10/10! Shared the local oyster and they were some of the best I've ever had! Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would visit again if in the area.

Bre R.

Yelp
We waited 30 minutes at the bar around back. Cozy hightops with heaters. Excellent whole lobster cooked perfectly. Ask for it to be cracked. Jonah crabs not our favorite & the combo with lobster isn't split. We had to request after trying a bit. Cocktails here were to the brim & made well. Sides were good- large portions of mashed potatoes, corn. The cornbread cakes are great. The one thing that could be improved upon was the cut and cook on the steak.

Bea W.

Yelp
Usual expected menu items and a lot more I loved the Moroccan vegetable soup and Jonah crab cakes. Many fried dishes for those who want that and a lobster roll Many cocktails and wines to enjoy too. Great view. Knowledgeable service is always a pleasure.

Jen R.

Yelp
I love this place! Their Cape Cod Cosmo is the best cosmo that I have ever had! Whatever cranberry shrub is it is magically delicious. My sister loves the spicy mango margarita and the tuna poke bowl. My favorite dish is the poke bowl with salmon- also the best I have ever had. It is so colorful, fresh, and tasty with mango and strawberries. I have not ordered much else but I can say that the fries are great. My dining companions always love their food too. It is so fun to go here and sit outside by the canal. Sometimes there is live music. The inside bar is a fun place to sit as well. My only complaint is that the dining room is very loud. It can be hard to hear your companions.

Justin A.

Yelp
Great food and exceptional service. Having a view of the Cape Cod canal wasn't bad either. Lovely and fun atmosphere. We had a few great cocktails including a proper Mai Tai and a Moscow Mule. Gerri was our server and she was awesome! Best in the business! Super attentive and funny! With recommendations and conversation, she was perfect! Such a fun experience!

Jay P.

Yelp
We were disappointed that we could not get on the wait list because it was so long, but we ended up sitting at the bar. Our bartender/Waitress was top notched, friendly and attentive. We had the PEI mussels with a coconut curry sauce, wow! So good. Wife had the knuckle head sandwich and I the. Crab cake sandwich. Both were a great deal for the price and taste of what we got. Good mix of young and old as well. They had an acoustic singer outside that was very talented as well. The cape is crazy during the summer, but this place is worth giving a try

Gloria M.

Yelp
This place was super nice inside with huge windows and great views of the water. Our server was nice and frequently check in. To drink we had the Cucumber Pomegranate Martini, Grand Tour and the Guava Margarita. The Kung Pao fish bites were a MUST. This was some of the best salmon sushi I've ever had. So fresh and super thick slices. The grilled salmon was good but needed more salt. All around fab experience and will def be back

Chirag M.

Yelp
Great ambiance located right by the water. Service was on point. The menu is huge and we loved everything we got. I'd definitely come back here!

Alex K.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The fish kung pao starter was amazing and could be a dinner itself The views here are fantastic and there was live music; it was really nice. The servers were attentive and had good attitude.

Seana G.

Yelp
I am writing to express my appreciation for the exceptional service at The Fisherman's View in Sandwich, MA. As long-term regular customers who visit weekly, we have consistently experienced the highest level of professionalism and dedication from the staff, particularly from Tara, the bartender. Tara exemplifies what outstanding service looks like. She tirelessly works to ensure that every guest feels recognized and valued, personalizing their experience with a genuine touch. Her ability to engage with patrons while maintaining a high standard of service sets a benchmark for her colleagues. It's evident that she holds her own work to a high standard, which may occasionally challenge those around her, but it ultimately elevates the entire experience for everyone. I believe the owners recognize Tara's immense value, but I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge her hard work and dedication. She deserves all the compliments for her commitment to excellence. If you visit The Fisherman's View, I highly recommend asking for Tara--her service will undoubtedly enhance your experience. Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful establishment!

Yelp
My first review was shortly after the restaurant opened. Since then, I've probably eaten at the F/V 25-30 times. I absolutely love this place and even reviewed it on my website (https://mybuzzardsbay.com/2021/05/08/the-fishermans-view-sandwich/). I'll add some additional food photos...

Howard B.

Yelp
Fisherman's View is a good spot for high-quality, tasty seafood with fantastic views right on the Cape Cod Canal. I ordered the scallops, which were cooked to perfection, and the salad, which was huge and fresh. They have an extensive menu, so there's plenty to choose from. The service was quick and friendly, despite how busy the place always is. They have a lot of tables, and on one visit, I was able to walk right in, opting for high-top or outdoor seating. However, on another visit, there was a long wait, and I didn't stick around and went somewhere else. The only ding for me here is that the hostess staff could pick it up a notch regarding helpfulness and friendliness. Overall, the exceptional seafood and beautiful location make it well worth a visit. Maybe go off-peak, though.

Paul C.

Yelp
Fisherman's' View keeps getting better. Huge, varied menu including sushi offerings. The three of us stopped in for lunch (reservations accepted and recommended) and the place was nearly full at noon on a Wednesday. I had the delicious Lobster Knuckle sandwich with loads of fresh lobster, lettuce, tomato, avocado and bacon on Texas toast. Delish. My companions had fish and chips and broiled scrod respectively, both delicious. Excellent, attentive service. Comfortable resto with great views of the Cape Cod Canal traffic. Highly recommended.

Allie J.

Yelp
Whenever I hear the word "sushi" I always think of the crunchy tempura roll at FV as it's DELISH

Disney H.

Yelp
For the "crab melt" sandwich I'd leave one star, that thing was terrible. But the sushi, apps, drinks, and other meals were quite good. If this is how the crab melt is supposed to be prepared, it has no business on the menu with such better options available. Jonas crab melt sandwich: MAYBE 2oz of crab total, smothered by a bland cheese/veggie blend. The thing was so flavorless that the only thing about it with personality was the buttered toast. If it had 4 times the amount of crab it still wouldn't be enough to make this sandwich good. Great fries The sushi was tender, filling, and a longer roll than expected. Zesty sauce with just the right amount of punch. Kung Pao fish bites: With a name like that id expect it to have any amount of spiciness, but it had none. However, it was good, and a decent amount of fish.

Yelp
Went for lunch on a Saturday in October .It was busy but not super crowded. We were leaving around 3, and there definitely was a different crowd coming in. Seems like it could become fancier at night. Best fried fish and cole slaw that I have ever had. The atmosphere was perfect. Great view, live music that wasn't overly loud. The service was great. The bartenders made excellent drinks. After we eat, we took some drinks outside to watch the boats come down the canal. Highly recommend, we will be back.

Temi A.

Yelp
The service at this establishment is despicable. Jerri at the bar was incredibly disrespectful to the group I was with. She initially ignored us for 10 minutes and upon sending a second group of people to order for us when ordering a bottle of wine and she required us to show multiple forms of identification reporting that it was because we were from out of state while the people around us were also from out of state and were not required to show multiple forms of identification.

Gina K.

Yelp
We docked right near Fishermen's View and it came highly recommended. So we stopped for lunch. It seemed very busy but, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table for 5 outside on the deck. The weather was beautiful so a seat on the patio was perfect. We ordered the king pow fish for the table, it is a healthy portion for splitting and was very flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. I ordered a sushi roll based on our waitress's recommendation, she did not steer me wrong. It had layers of flavor and was very filling. It was perfect for a late lunch, knowing I was going to be eating dinner only a few hours later.

Courtney S.

Yelp
We go here for lunch every August and it's a highlight of our summer. Great sushi and service is always friendly! And the views of course are a bonus!

Laurel D.

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere and service. View also a big plus. Cocktails imaginative. Would recommend.

Katelyn C.

Yelp
Love everything about this place! Food is great, servers are friendly and the views/ambience are fantastic. Highly suggest making a reservation, wait times can be long (but worth it!)

Warren S.

Yelp
Excellent service, food and cocktails. Was impressed by this local place. The quality of the food and drinks wa outstanding. Lobster rolls were fantastic and the atmosphere was quintessential New England.

Steven B.

Yelp
What a view for sure. We sat at the bar and split the torched scallop roll, the clam chowder -thick and delish, and then the cod melt, a delightful light cod sandwich. The bartenders were all very friendly with quick service and suggestions to offer. A little one martini and an old fashion topped off the meal and we couldn't decide what was better, the view, the vibe, the service or the food. We will just have to come back and decide. We went off hours and it still had a few people, bet it gets slammed in the summer at peak times. Simply put a great place and one of our favorites at the Cape.

Veronica B.

Yelp
Everything about this place was amazing! Service was great! We went with the servers recommendation for each course and the food was so delicious. Fresh ingredients. The views were beautiful and the place was very clean.

Pete M.

Yelp
Another great meal at Fishermen's View. Clam chowder, Octopus appetizer and fried clam plate were all great! Sat on the deck, super weather, great service and yet another great meal.

Gertrude H.

Yelp
We were visiting from the west coast and were very excited to try the seafood around Cape Cod. It's been a disappointing week of trying one place after the other here on the Cape and also at Martha's Vineyard. I think what was missing for me was the flavor. The quality of the seafood was always superb but fell short on the taste and preparation. Then we found this restaurant. I ordered one of their sushi rolls. I don't remember what it was called but it had the Jonah crab, salmon, cream cheese and other stuffings. Delicious. Everything about it was great. The combination of the flavors, the crunchiness of the tempura, the warmness of the sushi...I was sorry that I did not find this place earlier. For good measure, we also ordered corn on the cob and split a smash burger. Another fantastic find. I wasn't meaning to find one of the best burgers I've ever had but here I got it. Our server was also super sweet and helpful. We came on an early Wednesday afternoon and got seated right away with a view of the marina. Overall an outstanding experience.

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Sarah was top notch server! She remembered our request. Dinner was fabulous with a beautiful view! I ordered the Sunflower cocktail which was refreshing, and oh so tasty! The fried clams with fries , and coleslaw was very filling the portions were huge! We had the key lime pies for dessert so tasty! This view again was amazing!

Jake C.

Yelp
Incredible. Started with the calamari that was some of the best I've ever had. My wife got the crab stuffed haddock and I got the scallops, both amazing dishes. Would recommend to everyone! Great atmosphere by the docks and the seafood is caught fresh daily.

Scott G.

Yelp
Great food! Best bartenders! Best views! Best music just ask the boss!!! Gotta try the fried clams and the knuckle sandwich!!!

Nick N.

Yelp
Awesome awesome awesome restaurant My son and I went here a few weeks ago. We had capris salad and fish and Jim's and lobster blt. Every thing was top shelf. The food and service was outstanding. What a great pick to enjoy on the water front . The place was clean and the food was prepared above anything I have had in my life . A absolute winner of a restaurant. Five stars is the only way to mail down the rating on this beautiful establishment

Jay D.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic experience at Fishermen's View. Our lunch server was Sabrina and was phenomenal-attentive and personable. Food came out quickly and everything was delicious! Nice spot for sushi with a view you can't beat

Lori L.

Yelp
One of my favorites! this family owned and operated restaurant catches their own fis! it doesn't get any fresher than that! I ordered the "Knuckle Sandwich" and it did not disappoint! the lobster was so fresh. our view of the water was breathtaking on a nice sunny day. The white staff was friendly and thorough. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience!

Ellie S.

Yelp
Was driving into the cape for the weekend. Stumbled upon Fishermen's and stopped for a late lunch. It was our first time trying lobster rolls and wow they did not disappoint. We also got a beer and a cocktail as well as calamari for an appetizer. Service was good with a beautiful view of the water. I'm still dreaming about the lobster roll. Try!!

Randy L.

Yelp
I'm a local, walking distance to Fisherman's View from The beach. It's OK, but not a place to have fun or discussions. Staff friendly ... sometimes. Owners ... I've had little contact, but when I did they were arrogant. Loud and not terribly attractive environment. In-line bar facing a dull marina AND the better restaurant choice in Sandwich - The Pilot House - warmer environment, more inviting staff who actually remember locals, and a much better time. Sadly, Pilot House is closed for the winter but when it re-opens, locals will be there. For tourists, FV is probably an OK choice. But I know many locals who avoid the experience to spend time at a more fun place.

Diana M.

Yelp
Great view, super drinks, awesome sushi. Did not care for the salmon bites in pita. They were not bites, more like a ground salmon burger. I was expecting grilled chunks of salmon.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
when i think of cape cod i don't usually think of sushi, but the salmon sashimi here was SO fresh.. maybe the best I've had in massachusetts. makes sense because of the location. melt in your mouth consistency. 10/10 the clam chowder was exactly as expected, hearty and inviting. the salad (forget which one) was full of bright flavors and ingredients. great start to a cape cod trip.

Claire C.

Yelp
The lobster was so delicious! We had a lobster sandwich that melted in your mouth. The service, water view, and ambiance made the whole experience fabulous.

Donna O.

Yelp
Sent by locals in January from a meeting on the cape because I wanted a lobster roll on my way back to Logan airport. It was crowded for a late lunch at the bar and folks were friendly to this out of towner. Roll was delicious and service was great.

Matt W.

Yelp
Stumbled across Fishermen's view via a local recommendation and will start off by saying this should be on your bucket list if you're in the area. This place has a great location with a pretty solid view. The staff, so helpful, so fun, so awesome. There was a lady running the bar outside that was the absolute best and made some amazing cocktails and our server was the coolest guy ever. Prices are extremely reasonable and their seafood was so delicious and fresh. They have three boats they own and go out to catch a lot of their menu fresh. Sea to table. I believe it was around $5.50 a pound for lobster during my recent visit which is a ridiculous deal. I went with a few sushi rolls (Crispy Dragon and Torched Scallop Rolls) which I shared and the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll. First, this was hands down the best lobster roll I had in the area. As you guessed by the name, I went with the warm as I've never been huge on the cold. The meat was perfect!, That buttery goodness and the meat to bun ratio was the best I had in 3 different places during my visits by a long shot. The sushi also tasted fantastic, one of which had scallops which was an awesome first for me on sushi! We also had their cornbread which was so full of flavor and the moisture was *chefs kiss* Dang this place was great and to wrap up as I started, go check them out. Thanks a ton to the phenomenal staff!

Dannie W.

Yelp
I like this place because of the ocean view either indoors or outdoors. The lobster sushi rolls are interesting to try, but it doesn't have much lobster flavor. The steamed lobster is well cooked. The meat is tender but not much ocean flavor like the ones in Maine. The fried fish with beer batter has very good fries. The batter is a bit thick though. In general, I'll still come back here for the seafood and view.
