Fishmonger Nashville is the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. Located in the very cool new Neuhoff district in Germantown, Fishmonger packs lots a great flavors into a casual menu. The smoked fish dip is incredible — creamy, smoky, and impossible to stop eating. The blackened grouper Caesar salad is packed with flavor and has just the right kick, and the hamachi crudo is fresh, bright, and beautifully done. And don’t even think about leaving without trying the key lime pie — easily the best I’ve ever had. Tart, smooth, crumbly crust, and the perfect finish to the meal. Owner Skip is awesome — warm, welcoming, and clearly loves what he does. Fishmonger feels like a little coastal escape right in Nashville. Can’t wait to go back.

3.5 I called in a pick up order for the hot fish sandwich this review is only on the sandwich. I will definitely be back to dine in. The ambiance is up my Alley. The hot fish sandwich was a little disappointing I thought I was going to get a filet the size of my head. It was an decent length but not as meaty as the pictures I've seen online and ig. The flavor is nice it's a new spin on Nashville hot flavor, the celery salad is a nice addition adding crunch and acidity. The ranch is 5 stars! Great ranch sauce. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. I saw the bartender interacting with the guests too. They have the cutest dog friendly patio. The food was subpar and overpriced. I loved the atmosphere and May return for drinks. It was my birthday lunch and I left completely underwhelmed and honestly still a little hungry. Not what i expected from a 200.00 meal. I'll enclose pics. Buyer beware though.

This was a lovely food experience! We had several items off the menu, including the Caesar salad with blackened grouper (the dressing was amazing) and the tuna tartare. The sides were also excellent (special shout out to the beet salad). Highly recommend this cool spot!

We ordered the: [$18] Market Oysters - The oysters were great. Fresh and to the point. [$13] Chowder - The chowder was my absolute favorite thing. A thinner soup but the flavor definitely packed a punch. It had a vinegar-y essence which I loved. [$20] Hot Fish Sandwich - Huge. Very spicy. Good flavor. [$17] Gulf Shrimp Roll - I liked this but didn't love it. With the shrimp being cold about halfway through I didn't really want it anymore. Overall, I do think it can get a little on the pricey side depending on how much you want to try. I’d say 2 people is the sweet spot personally. A good experience & I'll be back to try the mussels eventually! (I would’ve but they had ran out so I’m thinking they are a hit)

We just had the most delicious meal here this evening! Their blackened grouper sandwich was incredible! The salmon chowder and Caesar salad are amazing! The atmosphere is great at Fishmonger! I highly recommend eating at this wonderful restaurant!

Skip and his crew provided the most special family dinner for us at the Neuhoff District. He explained every dish and the presentation of each was excellent. The ceviche was exceptionally fresh and we were introduced to hamachi collars which were to die for. The bartender, Jeremy, made us a fabulous cocktail and the servers were so kind and delightful. If you are ever near the Neuhoff District you MUST visit Fishmonger. Fabulous!

We had smoked fish dip, steamed mussels, chowder, shrimp cocktail and chef set oysters. Highly recommended everything except the chowder. It had an interesting flavor like a cinnamon or nutmeg? The cocktail sauce was the best we’ve ever had. We ended up ordering two rounds of it! The venue is very small just a bar and four 4-top tables, so peak meal time it might be a decent wait. All the food came out quickly and was outstanding. Also, they confirmed their fish is shipped in everyday.

My boyfriend and I tried Fishmonger when it first opened, and our first visit was a bit of a miss (it was very busy and we waited about 35 minutes to be seated). But we decided to give it another chance & we're so glad we did! This time the experience was completely different. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and even without a reservation we were seated quickly. We started with oysters and loved how fresh they tasted. Everything came out quickly, and the drinks were just as good as the food. The meal itself (not pictured) was excellent. I ordered the spicy fish sandwich and it was absolutely addictive, with the perfect balance of heat and buttery flavor. There are also so many fun things to do in the area, which made it easy to turn dinner into a great night out. We'll definitely be back!

This is a cashless location. Credit card only. There were multiple items on the limited menu that were not available. What they did have was quite excellent and very tasty. The seating is in a very open area in this office like building. Kind of reminded me of a food court. Parking is very limited unless you pay to park. Add $9 an hour to the dinner tab. The price is not inexpensive- but we enjoyed ourselves.

In a word - YUM! I'm doing Dry January so ordered a zero proof cocktail, the Beach Belle, to start. Very delicious! For our appetizer, we shared the smoked fish dip. Both the dip and the bagel chips they came with were great. For my meal, I got the lobster roll with potatoes. I just love a lobster roll and this one did not disappoint! I would love to say I'll go back and try something different but honestly I'll probably just eat the lobster roll every time. Our server was great, the place had a cool vibe, and can't wait to go back. Bonus - if you have a credit card with Resy benefits, eating here activated some of my cash back for the quarter. The only thing better than a great meal is a free meal!

Went in after the ice storm so it was slow but the service was 10/10. The restaurant was in a building, in an open area not hard to find once you were in there. Food was pretty tasty. I actually enjoyed the Caesar grouper more than the hot fish sandwich. The seafood chowder was good too. I don't know how often I'd go out there cause I wouldn't crave that all the time and the menu is small.

The service was amazing! It's a cute little open shoppe with quality, fresh seafood. The oysters were incredibly fresh and refreshing to the taste. We enjoyed them so much that we ordered a second round. The blackened fish was excellent. I ordered it as a separate entrée without the sandwich, but my friends ordered the sandwich and they both really enjoyed it. The fish was clearly fresh, perfectly crunchy, well seasoned, and thankfully not dry. The cucumber salad was a delight, though it leaned a little on the sweeter side. One of my other friends ordered the soup and absolutely loved it. Overall, it was a great experience with fresh seafood and wonderful service. However, I do want to point out that the menu was limited and they were out of a couple of items when we arrived. They were easily accommodating to us, we were a larger party of 7, but the restaurant is pretty small. For the ambiance - if you've ever been to Krog Street Market or Ponce City Market in Atlanta, it gives that grab and go restaurant kind of feel.

One of the best spots to grab seafood in Nashville! Delicious options in a fun, no-hassle environment. The staff is kind and attentive. Our favorite items we've gotten are the lobster roll, hot fish sandwich, blacked grouper, peel & eat shrimp, and fish dip. Be prepared for a massive fish sandwich and a messy but delicious meal with the shrimp. We've enjoyed every drink we've had here - whether is a cocktail, glass of orange wine or a canned cider. Fishmonger is such a fun little spot, tucked into this cool, refurbished riverside space that feels low-key but still totally high-quality. It's not the easiest spot to find, but it is the kind of place where you walk up and think, "Yep, this is going to be good." Ava, our server, was awesome. Super friendly, on top of everything, and just made the whole night easy. The cocktails were creative in the best way -- we both ordered things that we thought we would possibly not like, and yet we did. Food-wise, we loved everything we ordered. The tuna tartare was fresh and bright, the lobster roll was rich, and the blackened grouper sandwich had just the right kick. It was pretty filling, to boot. Overall, Fishmonger kinda nails it: different vibe, great drinks, great food. Definitely a casual but high-quality spot worth going out of your way for.

Great service. Unique ambiance. Sadly the fish sandwich that made them famous was a bit..odd tasting to me. Bun also falls apart - they can easily find a better bun solution. Service was great and I'd go back but try something else.

My Mississippi catfish sandwich was so good! I am going back for more. Also, the smoked fish dip was delicious. As well as the tuna tartare. I left very satisfied. Cute place with very nice ambiance. Our server understood the assignment and recommended the best drinks. We had reservations which was recommended to us.

Second time eating here and even better than the first! The special- whole Branzino- was one of the best things I've had in a long time! So much flavor. It does have a lot of oil, so is filling even though it's just fish! Caesar salad is great, as is the smoked fish dip. I had the Belafonte cocktail- delicious and not too sweet, very unique. They were out of the key lime pie :( We walked right in around 7:30 on a Friday night.

The space itself is smaller than I expected, so when they're busy, there may be a wait. It may be a challenge to find free parking, so be prepared to pay & walk a bit. I stopped in here for lunch and loved the fresh and flavorful seafood options! This restaurant is located in the Neuhoff building (no parking validation sadly) and offers a curated selection of seafood dishes and creative cocktails. The ambiance is dark and moody with vibrant neon signs and nautical accents. It's the kind of place where you can grab a seat at the bar or enjoy a laid back meal on a sunlit afternoon. I tried the caesar salad with grouper and the smoked fish dip. That salad is what would keep me coming back. It's perfectly cooked, super fresh, and full of flavor! The smoked fish dip was a great appetizer and reminded me of a charcuterie board- bagel chips, pickled onions, and banana peppers. Service was easy going and efficient, ideal for a no fuss lunch or casual dinner. For fans of quality seafood, Fishmonger is a must visit. This restaurant is in the Neuhoff District and in such a great location. It was relatively quick to get seated when I came on a Saturday for lunch. I had the Caesar salad with grouper. The fish was so moist and perfectly seasoned and went really so well with the ceasar salad. I really enjoyed it and it's made me look forward to trying more dishes here!

You guys!! This place is a must!! Everything we had was made to perfection! It was fresh and full of flavor! When you read the description you will be like how does this even go together but it does and it tastes amazing! We had the crab and avocado and the crab tasted so fresh, as well as the chef set oysters, they were from Alabama. Kiwi and oysters when would of ever thought! Perfection! I'm obsessed and want more! And the smoked fish dip! Yummy! The restaurant itself is super cute! It was a mazed to find but we definitely got lucky on a Saturday nite to walk right in and 2 chairs was waiting for us at the bar. Loved the area!

This has quickly become my new favorite cocktail bar in Germantown. Located in the new developed area of Neuhoff, this is a cozy-vibey bar with delicious food, snacks and outstanding cocktails. I highly recommend the Abuelita cocktail which is a fun spin on an Espresso Martini with Tequila that borders on a Mexican Mocha. The oysters are fresh! I recommend stopping by for drinks and food for a fun date night or with friends. The seating is limited, and at the moment it's first come first served. They have a huge waiting area so it's easy to grab a drink and wait for your table. Can't wait to go back!

This one is exclusively for the seafood lovers. Although Fishmonger has a small menu everything we tried was so good! The bar area is colorful and modern. It is slightly hard to find since the storefront isn't on the pathway but tucked back into almost an alley. We ordered the tuna tartare as an app then ordered two more items off of their specials menu for the evening. We split a fish dish with a side of broccolini and both were tasty. We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night but were able to get a table in this small outdoor area they have which was kind of funky. Service was a bit slow but we were not in a rush. Overall good experience and would come back.

What a cozy and welcome addition to the always entertaining G town food scene! I popped over to Fishmonger on a Sunday evening about an hour before they closed early due to selling out of most of their menu (for good reason!). The main purpose of my visit was to sample the heavenly cocktail The Abuelita, which is a spicy & delicious iteration of the classic espresso martini. Fellow Yelpers & besties Amanda M. & TJ M whose drink recommendations are NEVER to be ignored accurately hyped this cocktail. While holding the bar down we snacked on the smoked fish dip & shared a platter of raw oysters. I haven't eaten a raw oyster in probably 15 years & although a novice in the area, I was impressed with the freshness of what I had. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to return to eat some more of their menu offerings. Bartenders were very friendly & didn't seem to mind us hanging out while they closed up which was nice.

The hot brown butter potatoes were heavenly. The perfect snap and soft on the inside pair well with the butter. I ended up deconstructing my sandwich but the grouper was flakey and seasoned well. I didn't like the layout of the restaurant because half of it is actually in the walking way of the shopping area. It felt very disconnected and a bit food court-ish. Beyond that, my waiter was friendly and helpful. I will be back.

This is the place for excellent service, food, ambiance and drinks!! Thank you so much Jaden and Jordan, I really enjoyed my food and especially my drink too... I was hesitant because of the aperitivo, so glad that Jordan explained to me about what makes this drink, instant new fave too! fresh squeezed lemon juice and fresh flower petals this is what I consider to be a specialty cocktail... I rate this bar experience above most places I've been this year! Just because of the freshness of the food and the care with detail makes this an above 5 star for sure!!

Open format oyster bar, hidden at the back of building. The Market Oysters were delicious smaller and from Alabama. The Lobster Roll was tough and chewy. The Smoked Fish Dip is also excellent. Service at the bar was friendly and attentive.

Brand new restaurant tucked inside. Cocktail drinks hit the spot and the ambiance rustic feeling. Definitely a vibe here. Seafood lover will love the phenomenal fresh food here. Worth the visit.

I really wanted to like this place and I'm going to give it a generous 4 Stars and I'm being very generous, because I want this place to stay open. The tuna tartare wasn't very special. The crostini was a little stale and you taste everything else EXCEPT the Tuna. I think it was just lost in the sauce. The grouper sandwich that everyone talks about NEEDS some kind of Aioli or Remoulade to make it great. It's ok as is though but no one wants OK. Like I said everyone has been talking about this sandwich so I was a little disappointed. The major disappointment was the potatoes and cucumber salad. The potatoes need to be caramelized if something. Otherwise it's just mini baked potatoes, drizzled with brown butter. And I was a little irritated that I got pickles instead of a cucumber salad. Add to the fact they said they were closing at 7 even though yelp says 9. And they were out of the Crudos....i don't know if I'd go back. It's a One and Done...but if they get their act together I might go back...

Tucked away in the neuhoff district is this quaint little seafood restaurant. The food was phenomenal and super fresh. We stopped in for lunch right when they opened and service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back!

I was visiting from Austin and this place was at the top of my list and it totally delivered. The oysters with the kiwi were out of control good. And the focaccia with black sesame butter was a star. Also, painkillers are my fave drink and this place has textbook example of one and shows why they are my fave. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Great service too.

Vibes were fantastic, perfect date spot. We got the mussels which were phenomenal and the brown butter potatoes which might have been my favorite potatoes in Nashville. It was our second time getting the oysters and we keep coming back for them. The staff is so nice and informative, we 100% will keep coming back.

Tucked in an open corner of the Neuhoff Building, this place may have a small interior, but the vibrant colors give it a lively, welcoming vibe. I tried the Passion of the Spritz, which had chocolate bitters, and I could definitely taste the chocolatey notes! For food, I had the Black Grouper Sandwich. Despite looking a bit charred, it didn't taste burnt at all. I also ordered the chef set oysters which were $22 (6 oysters), which is $4 pricier than the market oysters due to the creative toppings. The kiwi, oil, and citrus foam added a fun sweet and sour twist, which I wasn't expecting. It's definitely different from the usual oysters, and I appreciate the chef's innovative spin. However, in all honesty, I think I would have preferred the oysters without the toppings.

Insanely expensive margarita, but also the best margarita I've ever had so I think it's okay!! With tax and included tip, each marg came out to a little over $20. Yeesh! But this melon margarita with midori was PERFECT!! It was incredibly strong first of all, but you can't taste the tequila, so it is a bit dangerous, but a fun kind of a dangerous lol. It's this fun neon yellow color and comes in a glass mug. It is SO refreshing! Also fishmonger is incredibly cute inside, and feels way too cool to be in Nashville (respectfully). Would return for the marg! Great service too.

absolutely everything was top-notch -primo-delicious. Going back for dinner tonight. We got a recommendation from a local friend of ours and we were not disappointed. It really is awesome.

Interesting setting, short menu, excellent product, expertly cooked, pleasant informal but very attentive service. We went for lunch on a Wednesday, was moderately busy. It is in a very open part of one of the reused massive factories of this area, all the walls and ceilings are concrete. Wondering if when it's very busy if it might get noisy. Very small kitchen, looked not much bigger than a large closet. Amazing what they can do from it. Long bar with a kind of Rat Pack era Vegas look. Usual custom cocktail list. Made me want to come back some evening to try a couple, along with a couple of things off the raw bar menu - oysters, shrimp, a couple of different crudo options. I had the hot fish sandwich, beautiful catfish filet, broiled, glistening with red chili oil. Very spicy at first, but as it cooled got less so. Eating it with bites of the chopped lettuce and very nice bun that it sat on made for a very tasty combination. I'd get it again, but after I tried the tuna melt, which the waiter said is fantastic. My buddy had the chowder, which he said was tasty but didn't have enough of the melange of seafood listed in its menu description. Lots of potato chunks though. We also shared the beet salad and buttered fingerling potatoes, both well prepared. Disappointed that they didn't have ice tea. Moderately priced, my sandwich, side, and coke came to about $30 Before tip.

Sat at the bar for lunch today. Great service, great food, fun atmosphere. Food is a little pricey, but everything was delicious and tasted very fresh--worth the price.

We like spicy food. We love chowder and have eaten it in New England and California coastal towns as well as a lot of places in between those locations. The food here was so bad that it was not edible. The chowder was brown water with an oil slick on top. I'm familiar with Manhattan style chowder, which is more brothy. This was neither Manhattan chowder nor traditional cream based chowder. It was a bowl of brown water with oil on top. And the only thing it tasted like was HOT. We love spicy food but this was palate blowing HOT. We also ordered a blackened grouper sandwich. After removing the large piece of brown lettuce, I still gave it a try. I didnt know HOT was a flavor but apparently it is because that is the only thing I registered as I chewed the one bite i took. Ordered a glass of red wine and for heavens sake it was served chilled. That was sad for this red wine lover. But I would have completely ignored the iced red wine, had we just been able to eat ANYTHING. That food had so much spice on it that my hands burned after i touched the grouper when i picked up the sandwich to take a bite. There was also a dish that was called coleslaw. Lets not even speak of it... smh. With so much restaurant competition in that area of Nashville along the river, and being in a very trendy looking spot, I certainly expected that their food would be edible. Not sure how they stay in business. It was that bad. We paid the full check, but first told them it was literally inedible. We asked for the check less than five minutes after they brought our food to the table. No gracious reduction in bill was offered. Boo. I do NOT recommend

Let me start with the positives the oysters were good and the vibes are nice. I would recommend trying the oysters and that's all. My reasoning.... one word. MID. For the price charged it does not justify the portions and the taste as well. The taste I can't say enough how unimpressed I was by the flavor not to mention the soggy bun. There are plenty of better restaurants just be careful because Nashville yelp can be deceiving. P.S if you are ever in Chattanooga go to Uncle Larry's best catfish you'll ever have.

Amazing service and great food! We had friends in town and decided to try Fishmonger since it's newer and we were craving seafood. We got the Murder Point, AL oysters to share and they were great, I also got the Caesar salad and blackened grouper sandwich and they were also great. I'll defiantly come back. I wish I remembered the names of all who helped us but it was a group effort and everyone was friendly. Ambiance was cool and eclectic great music and vibes .

Quaint spot fantastic food great service. The blackened grouper sandwich was superb. Smoked whitefish dip delicious . Real deal Keylime pie! We're only in town for a couple of days but we're going back. Was a little hard to find with the street issue but worth the effort.

I've never tried raw oysters until I went here. They were sooo good. I can't wait to go back for more. The fish sandwich was good also.

We loved Fishmonger. The location is fantastic, and the building is gorgeous. The restaurant itself is Brooklyn-cool and just a fun place to enjoy a meal. The real star, though, is the fabulous food. We tried the razor clams, the chef set oysters, the lobster roll, and the chowder. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I mean really delicious -- like award-winning chef delicious. We also tried the Key Lime Pie, which we were told is brought in from a bakery in Atlanta. I'm not a judge of Key Lime Pie, but this one seemed pretty tasty to us. All in all, Fishmonger is an awesome edition to the ever-growing Nashville food scene.

A $43 lobster roll? Are you kidding me? This place had been recommended to us, and it is indeed situated in a gorgeous setting with very impressive architecture. That is about the nicest thing I can say about this restaurant. The menu is tiny, and half of it is a raw bar. My husband and I don't eat raw fish, so the menu was a problem for us. Also, no hard seltzers and no light beer. So if you are trying to keep your calories down, you will have to drink water. We ordered the fish dip, which was mediocre at best, and it came with 4 half-slices of bagel crisps. We had to ask for more. My husband had the chowder, which was also mediocre. The blackened grouper sandwich was recommended, as it had been prepared with their "New Bay" spices. For $23, we got a fish sandwich and a pickle. Nothing on the side, unless you want to count the little pickle sliver. The "New Bay" spice was essentially the Chinese five-spice combination, and I didn't like it at all. I wish they would have told me it was prepared with fennel and cloves and star anise, and I would have ordered something else (the shrimp cocktail or a salad would have been the only thing left for me to order). So based on the lack of variety of refreshments, the tiny menu, the super high prices, the "New Bay" spices on the blackened grouper, this place gets a big thumbs down from me.

Food was good, but the price seems high for the amount/quality. Service was adequate for the small dinning area. The drinks were fun and the area/building was awesome. Would recommend more for a drink/snack date night place than a full dinner
