The best fish and chips we have found on the coast. Portions are also huge, but this is one of the rare quality and quantity situations. You just get a bunch of the best. This time we all got the tuna. One order of jalapeno poppers, and a fish taco just to try one (really good if you're into these). They have moved 2 blocks away and now share dining space with South Jetty Dinning Room & Bar. Food is the same amazing fish and chips we expect...but having clean restrooms, pool tables, and a bar (even though we're not drinkers) is 100% an upgrade for our dining experience. If you haven't been here just go and thank me later 🤣

Best Fish n Chips anywhere! The owner, Ed, is an awesome guy and loves being of service. My usual is the $6 "Bag O' Fish that includes 6 pieces of cod and tartar sauce, perfect for a quick lunch or eating on the road. Yesterday I had the Sampler, which includes, a rock fish fillet, 2 pieces of cod, 1 salmon, 1 albacore and fries for $18. Everything was fantastic! The beer batter is excellent! I cannot recommend it enough!

If you like fried seafood you will love this place. The batter is light, not too oily but very crispy. The cod and shrimp were plump and delectable. The fried fish tacos had a great crunch, the coleslaw was more vinegar forward, not a mayonnaise based Mexican tartar sauce, so they felt lighter. I had to throw some shrimp in there too, and I’m happy I did. I did not try the french fries but they didn’t look special. If I went again, I would get the rockfish. I don’t think you can go wrong ordering anything here. I hear they are moving to a new location nearby. I didn't see any beer? Prices felt very reasonable. I wish they had salmon chowder or fried salmon fish tacos. Maybe that’s just because it’s salmon season right now? I would love a fusion fish taco with fried salmon topped with fresh salmon roe and drizzled with wasabi infused crème fraîche. 😋🙌🏼🐟🎣🌮🇺🇸🇯🇵🇲🇽💥🙌🏼

Easily the best fish and chips I've ever had in the PNW. My landlocked self is going to be dreaming of that beer battered rockfish for years to come. Be aware: recent reviews show this place to have outdoor seating, but it does not (maybe it did at one time?), so don't show up on foot with your dog like we did.

It’s taken a while to get Google to update the information- but Fishmongers is now part of The South Jetty Lounge, on the restaurant side of the building in Hammond/Warrenton. Same great owners and delicious food choices, with even more options!! Comfortable indoor seating where you can enjoy a beverage or two, and prime rib dinners on Friday and Saturday nights! Come check it out!!

Not a fan of the new location. I’ve gone a few times before leaving my review to give it a fair chance. You walk in and the sign says see the host. It should say see the bartender. The dining room feels dark and deserted and I was unsure where to go the first time I went in. I wandered around into the bar area looking lost until the bartender asked if they could help me. And sometimes there’s no one there and you just stand there for a few minutes waiting to be acknowledged. I’ve never gotten a receipt so I thought the prices just went up. Turns out they charge you $2 extra per to-go container they need to use for your food. So it’s a $4 surcharge every time for me as I don’t want to sit and eat in a dark bar. They also didn’t ask what size I wanted the first couple times I asked for fries (didn’t realize there was sizes) so I wondered why my total was $4 more the last time I went in. Turns out that person just put me in for the largest size where the other was putting in a small. The food still seems the same overall and I’m not saying I’ll never go here again, but I was somewhat of a regular before and all of this combined will keep me away.

Wow, what a great find! This place is amazing. I brought my wife here for Valentine's Day. We had the cod and rockfish; both were amazing, but the local rockfish was fantastic—so fresh and delicious! We found our new favorite spot. Not to mention the portions are huge and at an amazing price. This is a must-stop; do yourself a favor and swing in for some amazing local food.

The Best Fish & Chips on the Coast — Fishmongers, Hammond OR Located in the small seaside town of Hammond, Oregon, Fishmongers feels exactly like what you’d hope for from a coastal fish & chips joint. The interior is dark and cozy, with wood everywhere—walls, tables, beams—and nautical décor like ship artwork and rope-wrapped pillars. We were greeted by an extremely warm, friendly, and enthusiastic server who clearly loves the restaurant and takes pride in the food. The menu is refreshingly simple, centered around fish & chips made with your choice of fish. We went traditional with cod, and any small shortcomings this place might have instantly faded away with the first bite. The fish was light, flaky, and perfectly seasoned—crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender inside. Served with fries, lemon, tartar sauce, and coleslaw, the portions were generous and satisfying. Quite honestly, it may be the best fish & chips we’ve ever had. A must-visit if you’re in the area—and worth the drive from nearby Astoria.

I have eaten at tons of fish places and FM wins hands down. We drive out from Beaverton on day trips just for dinner. We also stop here after duck hunting for lunch.

Awesome fish and chips! Had the sampler, comes with cod, salmon, albacore and rockfish. Three of those were the first time I'd tried them fried and would go back for more! Fresh as can be, huge portions and great prices! Would highly recommend! To go only but they do take cards.

Cute little roadside seafood shack. No inside seating. Covered and open seating out front. Service is quick and friendly. Limited menu of fried seafood and a few other things like seafood tacos. The portions are ridiculously large. How they do it for the quality and price point I have no idea, and I'm sure not complaining. It took me three meals to get through my tuna and chips, which included NINE good size pieces of tuna and a heaping amount of fries. The tuna was awesome, the crinkle fries pretty standard. Great tartar sauce and very fresh but a bit bland coleslaw. Will definitely be back.

Ordered the sampler platter and I was blown away by how much food I got. Super fresh fish. Quality was top notch. Customer service was amazing too. This is a gem. I will definitely come back.

The way fish and chips is suppose to taste. None of that frozen breaded stuff. Fresh, batter dipped cod, made while you wait. Friendly staff, decent prices. I'll definitely be back when I visit the area again!

The good- tons of food for the money. Quaint little place very close to fort Stevens. The bad-dry and over cooked.

The bag-o-fish for only $5 is unbelievably good. No WONDER this place has such good ratings! A tiny little fish shop with great service, great food, great outdoor seating. Will be back!!!

The rock fish and chips were good, then we saw the political rhetoric they displayed. We were not ok by the owners out front political advertising. We wont go there again.

Got sampler's dinners and rockfish dinners for our family. Stunningly good. We're PNW people and have had lots of fish and chips, growing up on Ivars and everything else up to fine dining. The. Best. Ever. Large portions and every bite excellent. I can't believe they got the large rockfish fillets perfect but they were perfect. Super nice people at the restaurant too.

Wow....what else can I say about this place? Drove up from Cannon Beach to try it out based on the reviews and it was well worth it. Off the main drag, but that didn't slow down business! We got here when it opened and immediately greeted by the super friendly + helpful staff (that I am going to guess are the owners). We shared the sampler + shrimp cocktail and both were amazing. We were stuffed for $26!!! Homemade batter + tartar sauce, both of which were great. Definitely coming back again. Thank you so much for such a great dining experience, they are getting harder to come by these days!

Great fish and chips! We had the sampler and there was more than enough to feed both of us. This is a take out only business but they have tables outside you can eat at. The People behind the counter were delightful!

Great people! This is what I like in a local 'Fish-N-Chips' joint. Shared the sampler with my 11y/o Son. Crispy outside, fresh fish cooked to perfection on the inside. Portion size was the largest I've had, enough to slow us both down for sure. Didn't even get to the Bag O Fish(which comes in a box) side we ordered. Also..... very Veteran/First Responder friendly. Much appreciated! Nice clean establishment with a few tented tables outside or a two minute drive to some great tailgate spots.

I have been wanting to try Fishmongers in Hammond OR for a long time, based on all the good things I had heard. I finally made it in one cold, rainy PNW day...and they weren't packed, like all the other times I had driven by and opted not to wait. This little joint did NOT disappoint!! I chose their sampler which included a piece of all the fish they offer. Tuna, salmon, cod, rockfish, fries and some slaw. Truly the BEST fried fish in the area! Numero Uno!! The batter is crispy and light. So crunchy, and not dripping in grease! I think the cod and rockfish were my favorites, but the tuna was also good. I'm not a fan of fried salmon, but that's my tastebuds. That had nothing to do with the quality of the fish or cook. I just like my salmon grilled or baked. (My husband liked it.)The fries were also fried to perfection. If I had a complaint it would be the food isn't seasoned much. But, I kind of like that cause it allows the customer to salt it as liberally or minimally as they want. A good thing for those watching their sodium. Just make sure to ask for a salt packet if you like salt. The slaw is a savory, vinegary kind, not the sweet stuff you get at KFC. On top of the delicious fish, the fellows cooking are truly sweethearts. Very nice, and informative when this nosy customer was asking questions about their establishment. It was a slow day so they had time to engage in a nice conversation. The portion of food was perfect for a big appetite, too. I wanted to eat it all, but honestly could not....which made my husband happy when I surprised him with the equivalent of 2.5 pieces of fried fish and fries when I got home. (I tied all the fish and left portions for the spouse! lol!) It reheated well in the air fryer and he now wants to try this place the next time we're in the area together. There is outdoor seating. Nothing fancy. Some picnic tables under an awning. It was too cold and wet for me to take advantage of the area, so I consumed the goods in my car. Do not overlook this little gem of a dive. Truly. The BEST fish and chips in town

What a delicious meal, and all perfectly packaged to go! Our fish was fresh and expertly fried to perfection! The proprietor not only made our meal, but he also recommended a parking area right around the corner for the best water view of Astoria and Columbia Rv. to eat our amazing meal. Grew up in San Diego, surfing Baja, and eating fish tacos the whole way. probably over a 1000. most unique and best fish tacos I have ever eaten. the slaw is amazing, you can get differ ent types of fish for your protein. the fish and chips are also amazing. There is four types of fish daily,but the rockfish is my favorite. it is the oil and temperature they cook with that keeps all this deliciousness moister than anywhere in the area. Puts Bowpicker to shame, go get you some fresh fish today, you will not be sorry....

I never leave reviews but this place was amazing! We stumbled upon it after leaving Astoria and I'm so glad we did. Friendly employees, delicious food and lots of it! We were their last customers at 5:15pm on a Tuesday because they sold out, so get there early if you can!

We stopped by to get some fish & chips to go! We got their sampler, which had a piece of all their fried fish options. My favorite of these was the salmon. These came with excellent homemade tartar sauce and fries. Our stop was short and filling. Everything was fresh and despite the food being fried, it didn't feel heavy. Their fish is clean and tasty. They are worth the stop!

We were craving salmon fish and chips, so ventured to Hammond to try The FishMongers. We loved everything about our visit. Cute little outpost with delicious food. Fantastic service by the owner and perfectly fried fish, tender, crispy, delicious. We drove over to Hammond pier to eat. Our lunch companions were pretty cool too!

We got there just before they closed early. The rockfish, shrimp and salmon were all worth getting again and the fries were also good. The only mistake I made was washing my hands with the soap at the portable sink in the outdoor eating area. Every time I ate a fry or piece of fish, the first thing I smelled was the strong soap they used.

Got the bag of fish for $5 which was 6 small pieces of cod and tartare sauce. Loved the tartar sauce since it was very creamy. Freshly fried cod batter was light and fluffy and very crispy, comparable to tempura but a bit heavier. Was decently stuffed and found no need to get fries with it. If you pay $10 in cash you get a free drink btw. Service was quick. There's only outdoor seating so bring your coats or eat in your car.

The fish was fresh and extra crispy because of the rice flour. Portions are generous and staff was helpful in answering questions and allergy needs. Slaw was black pepper forward. Great bang for $15.

The FishMongers 100% deserve a 5/5 rate. All of it was phenomenal...food, ambiance, and especially the service. Cute little restaurant with a chalkboard menu. We got the cod fish and chips and a fish taco. Our food was bursting with flavor. Not to mention the portion is huge. The fish and chips had nice sized pieces of fish which paired well with the crinkle cut fries. Their tartar sauce is amazing. It's thick, so that to me screamed delicious!!! The fish taco had a great slaw and every bite was excellent. The workers were so friendly and welcoming to us. We have three daughters and one of the cooks pointed down to the lollipops telling them to grab one! So sweet of him. And I also have to mention that they have the good lollipops, blowpops, not little dum dums! After we ordered we decided to wait outside til our order was ready. While waiting, the cashier came out and gave our girls fruit snacks! So generous and kind of them. We already know that whenever we are passing through Warrenton, this is a must for us!!! So happy we stopped to try it.

Walked in on a very wet day and noticed no indoor seating. The guy behind the counter noticed and graciously said there were a couple of places with sit down options in town but we decided to order anyway and eat in the car. He then recommended a place where we can park and get an ocean view and maybe see seals. While waiting for our order, I started coughing (I have asthma) When our order came, the guy was rummaging underneath the counter and he told us he heard someone coughing and was looking for cough drops to give to me- I thought that was super nice of him. We ordered rockfish and cod and they were fresh and crispy. The tartar was substantial, which is always nice. My husband and I were very happy with the food and certainly the service- I'd totally recommend this place!

We love fish and chips and love trying new places. This place beat my expectations on the fish and chips. The CRUNCH!!! Will definitely come back again if we are in the area. FYI: they only serve clam chowder in the winter time. So if you are craving that, call ahead

The best fried fish I had so far, good with or without the tartar(e?) sauce, the fish has a base blackpepper taste seasoning already. The amount of food you get totally worth the price of it. The staff is very friendly too :) hope this cute little place thrives on

Possibly the best Fish n Chips ever. We ordered the combo for two adults and couldn't finish it. We also had a bowl of chowder to share and it was also delicious (creamy, full of clams, and just a bit of smoke). Overall, fresh and tasty!

Absolutely delicious and worthy of their 5 stars. The employees were friendly, and the service was fairly quick. The place itself is small but there are some benches in the front, so I stayed and enjoyed mine there. It's perfectly located if you're headed to or from Fort Steven's too!

So. Good. As visitors to the PNW, we were looking for a fresh seafood and boy did they deliver! So good! Big quantities!

Great seafood. We had the sampler meal and it was great. I'm a big eater and I couldn't eat it all. Very tasty and fresh. Friendly service. Would definitely recommend this place.

The fish & chips here is excellent: thick fillets, very fresh, moist and falling apart, coated with thin, crisp batter; good fries, generous tartar. The gentleman who served us, who I assume is the owner, was exceptionally gracious and outgoing. My wife and I both look forward to making The Fishmongers our regular fish & chips habit whenever we visit the Oregon Coast.

Some of the best fried fish on the coast! If you're ever lucky enough to be there while they have their chowder available, it's a must try! Buddy from Boston said it's the best "chowdah" he's ever had, and he's from New England!

This was our first dining experience in the Astoria/Warrenton area and it was a great first spot. My wife ordered the cod fish and chips and a cup of chowder, I had the fried shrimp and shared my wife's fries. She loved the fish and the fries were cooked perfectly crispy. They were the best crinkle cut fries!! The chowder was passable she said. Not the best she's had but definitely tasty. I had the side of fried shrimp and shared my wife's fries. You get 5 shrimp for $6, or a shrimp basket for $15. I have a smaller appetite so the side and some of my wife's fries and I was set with a cheap dinner! The staff was super friendly, we had dinner for two for under $25, and they were super speedy. I only wait 15 minutes for my food and I was the 4th in line when I got there and there were plenty of mobile orders as well. All in all, great spot with great food and great staff. Definitely will be eating here again.

Everything here was delicious! I came because I wanted to try Tuna Fish n Chips since I had never had tuna that way. It is very good, fresh with a super crispy batter breading. My husband had the shrimp dinner. They had to be the colossal size. So much in each meal that 2 people could easily share one dinner. The slaw was a bit different. I bit peppery.

Wow, the Fish Mongers fish and chips were so good. Definitely we will be coming back when traveling to Oregon. If you get the chance try it. Worth the trip.

We were going to be driving through the area, and my daughter...who did some research to fulfill her need for fish n chips while wandering...decided that FishMongers was the right choice. We were there this past Saturday at 1pmish. One person was eating their meal in their car in the lot, but other than that we were the only one inside to order. The owner was the only person holding down the operation, so it took a while to get the food, but he was very personable and friendly. There were a few options for your deep fried pleasure, and our group of 4 opted for: 2 orders of cod, 1 of salmon, 1 variety plate (salmon, cod, and rockfish), and a side order of shrimp. Orders came with a large side of fries and small containers of macaroni salad and slaw. Two of us tried the macaroni and we both liked it, but I can't speak for the slaw as no one in our party is a fan. Heed my warning, you'll need to be a big eater or incredibly hungry to eat it all. The cod orders my daughter and I chose included 4 decent sized pieces...he said it's usually 3 but he added an extra to each of ours...and we could've easily shared one of the meals. The salmon and variety plates were greatly enjoyed by the guys, and the fried shrimp were large and tasty. Everything was cooked perfectly, yes...greasy as you'd expect with fish n chips, but not overly saturated by any means. He kindly threw in an extra large order of fries he had, which of course we didn't get to enjoy because we were all too full attempting to get through our meals. We also decided at the last minute after getting our food that we wanted a couple of cans of soda too. He very generously gave us those on the house. We were quite happy with my daughters choice of fried goodness. We will stop in again next time we are in the area. Go in and enjoy...,but go in hungry!

Came here based off the reviews and they did not miss. I ordered the 3 fish tacos and they were delicious. There were a lot of flavors going on and all blended really well together. The only seating is a few tables outside. Loved the theme they have going on and the support for our first responders.

The fish is fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection. We ate the sampler platter and it was more than enough for two. We also had the fish tacos with side order of fish nuggets and shrimp. The shrimp are large and so yummy. My husband enjoyed talking with the owner. Everyone is so friendly and this is our go to place for fish.

Holy fish stick Batman! This place is so freakin good. A group of my friends and I spent the day hiking at a near by park and decided to stop by as options were limited in this area. Wow are we so glad we did. Fresh seems like an understatement. These guys cooked our dishes so perfectly and the different options had a perfect pick for everyone. These guys are the real deal

Yum!!! This is by far the best fish and chips I've had, we got the cod and fish tacos and it was so fresh and delicious! Best priced and tasting around here for sure. And the employees were all so nice and happy, we will definitely be back soon!

If you're like me and craving a good fish and chips.... This place is it. I got the sampler which had each type of fillet they order, fries, coleslaw and sauces to go with. 10/10 would recommend. The fish was ABSOLUTELY cooked to perfection leaving it moist and flakey while having some amazing crispy batter coated on the outside. I was full but I forced myself to finish every bite as not to let anything go to waste. Service was great and the shop has a nice feel inside. Pay w cash and they had free drinks! Thank you FishMongers for excellent lunch!

Great service and good variety. We did take out when we wanted to eat back at our room.
