Went to this fish restaurant on a recommendation from a business colleague, we had a very good meal and the fish was fresh and the drinks inexpensive. Puddings and coffees were good and the service was excellent all round. Sea food was excellent fresh and very tasty

I had a great experience here. The wait staff were so helpful and lovely. I had a couple of questions about the menu which they happily helped me with. I was hoping to get a cocktail but wasn't sure what to order since there was no cocktails on the menu so they made me one especially and it was exactly what I was after. The food was delicious and I thought it was actually reasonably priced for what I had. Would definitely recommend this place and will likely visit again next time I'm in Gothenburg. Thank you!

Nice classic restaurant. Went for dinner. Food was good, not amazing but absolutely not bad either. We had among other things the lobster tartar for starter, this was average. The gratinated scallop for starter was amazing. Service was polite and professional. Would recommend

I seriously didn't think it could get better but this place is heavenly. From the staff, to the location and ambiance, we had a great time. They accommodated two large groups without reservations and we indulged in wonderful wine and seafood. Thanks for a great visit.

Classy decor. Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was fantastic. My dinner partner had mussels and halibut, and I had the deluxe shellfish platter. Our waitress recommended a white wine that paired well with our selections. Dessert was excellent. Highly recommended.

The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, beautifully decorated, the volume was low so we could talk normally. Wish it was a bit brighter inside, it was very dimly light. They have great staff there, very welcoming and attentive to all your needs. We tired the buffet, they gave us some bread and soup as starters which were really good. Afterwards we went and tried stuff from the buffet, most of it was good, but wished they had a bigger selection of seafood. Ordered two types of oysters Fine de Claire and I don’t remember what the other type was, but they tasted like oysters. You also got 3 types of condiments with the oysters. 25G Störkaviar: I personally do not see what the hype around caviar is, so I didn’t enjoy it that much. Also, the service was great at this place except for when I asked about the caviar. Our server asked if I meant the Kalixlöjrom when I had already stated I wanted the Störkaviar, I found it a bit odd (I asked for the more expensive alternative they had).

Beautifully appointed restaurant with excellent, attentive staff. My companions had the De Luxe seafood platter and enjoyed it very well, while I had an entrecote with a red wine reduction that was delicious. Seemed to have quite an extensive bar, particularly a very large variety of grappas that caught my attention.

Yelp
Nice upscale restaurant serving local fresh seafood. Offers coat check upon arrival. Walking distance to most of the downtown hotels. Started with some entrees for apps - cod balls and mussels. Cod balls were meaty and tasty. The mussels were in a light white sauce. For my main, went with the buffet of seafood. The great part of this is that they bring you refills. Smoked shrimp, shrimp, crab claws and langostines (think giant crawfish or baby lobster). I didn't care for the smoked shrimp (too Smokey for me) and the regular shrimp were a little on the small side for the effort of taking off the shell. The langostine tails were full of flavor, claws were hard to get at. Highlight of the meal was the local crab claws. Reminded me of stone crab, but not a sweet. For dinner had the creams brûlée with rum and violet ice cream instead of the sorbet. The rum vanilla was tasty, the violet was too strong for me. Great restaurant, great service, will return on my next trip.

Yelp
I for one didn't know what I was walking myself into when we were invited here and am so glad my host did. The atmosphere is undoubtedly with its cozy Swedish design charms: sophisticated, delicate details, modern, and old world. I don't know how else to describe it. The host graciously ordered for us and recommended the blini with löj caviar as the starter. It's a perfect bite of creaminess (from blini) and crispness of the löj caviar mixed with the sour cream, chives, shallots, and dill. Next came the seafood platter with lobsters, crawfishes, mussels, and Swedish shrimps. Everything on the plate were cooked simple and the way it is suppose to taste, fresh and sweet. For the main course turbot with fresh beets and soft poached egg over fresh wasabi roots were divine (as if I had any more stomach space)!! The turbot was surprisingly thick and meaty, fresh beets had an unforgettable crisp clean finish, and when I was expecting the running yolk of a poach egg to spread into the wasabi root, the yolk instead was creamy soft that together with the fresh wasabi roots were perfectly harmonized. Just when I thought the meal was over, came more Swedish (and European) hospitality to finish the meal with cheese plate, coffee or tea. I wish I knew more about cheese to tell you the experience. The meal was so wonderful that I have to write about it; however, before I end, I must tell you about the drinking culture too :) The evening started with a glass of Champagne and another. With the starter, we toasted to glass of schnapps with the blini and löj caviar. Move to a bottle of Bourgogne Chardonnay (oaky flavor...tres interesting) since we were eating the turbot. Later came 3 more glasses of wine to pair with cheese plate, and we finished with Berta grappa and tea but not before bottomless Champagne throughout the meal. Toast to the host , this was an unforgettable meal!!

Yelp
If you need proof that money can buy happiness, here you go. Best fish in the world. Lobster soup is heavenly. The green apple thing served with creme brulee is very unique. Nice location too. Dress up though, not good to show up in jeans (like I did).

Yelp
Exspensive but then Restaurants in Sweden are never cheap. I really enjoyed this place, great atmosphere stunning service ,good choice of fresh fish and extensive wine list. Service was attentive without being overbearing. I chose a typical Swedish dish of assorted Herring and cheeses for a starter thinking light not too much. I was astounded when a three teir tray (a la French Fruits de Mer) was placed in front of me , herring prepared in six or seven different ways and a simalar number of Scandanavian cheeses. Stunning. Fresh baked cod followed this and it was to die for. Sadly I couldn't manage a dessert but the ones I saw looked great. Really great dining experience.

Yelp
This is, hands down, by far one of the best, if not the best seafood buffet restaurant in town. Yes, it's a bit pricey to eat here, but the dining experience and the buffet itself is absolutely outstanding. Now I know what you're thinking... "Buffet"? Yes, it is a buffet but the quality and selection of the food is top notch. Now, they may not have a wide variety of seafood, but instead they have a few really high quality local seafood dishes. They have crab claws, crayfish, and shrimp. They have some other dishes like smoked salmon Caesar salad, salmon sashimi and poached salmon. And on top of that they serve a delicious poached fish soup as an appetizer. If you're looking to tantalize your taste buds with great west coast Swedish seafood, this is it. Book a table in advance so you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Probably more like 3.5 stars. Unassuming from the outside, a giant golden lobster perched on top of the doorway. Inside the settings are beautiful and elegant, as you would expect for such a fine dining spot. There are a lot of "suits", and a few tourists. We had a shellfish platter (Plateau), which is lobster, langoustines and shrimps cooked in a dill-wine sauce. Very flavourful yet not heavy. Also had a cod dish (Ostronspackead torsk) and a haddock (Kolja) dish, both were quite good. Desserts were whimsical and delightful. I've not had any bad dessert in Sweden; they are beautiful to the eyes and sing in the mouth, often light-textured yet richly flavourful, a small portion size provides complete satisfaction. A bit pricey, but not over the top. Given Gothenburg has several Michelin stars, I think the fine dining restaurants are reasonably priced compared to other European gourmet destinations.

Yelp
If I'd been searching for a restaurant on my own, I'd never have found Fiskekrogen, or selected it if I had. Fortunately, we were taken by a colleague and friend who had grown up in the area, who wanted to share something special with us. Wow... the food, ambience and service were all first-rate. It felt like a cornucopia of riches from the sea was being presented at our table, in a never-ending banquet of deliciousness. It was all so amazing and good, we didn't have room for desert, though I did try a lovely port to finish up. I can barely remember what we ate, it just streamed out to our table so efficiently. The ironic thing is that when it came down to comparisons, the American lobster bested the Swedish, to our palates (maybe it was familiarity?), and the French oysters also bested the Swedish (lighter, sweeter and brinier). Being in Sweden, we wanted the opposite to be true! We were treated for dinner. I suspect the price of the meal was astronomical. We are indebted to our host for showing us such a marvelous time at a place I might never have discovered otherwise. I will be back if I return to Goteborg, cost be damned!
