Highlights

We are a small mom and pop shop specializing in Chiu Chow Noodles and other Chiu Chow Fusion dishes. We strive to use fresh quality ingredients. Our broth is made from scratch daily just like home comfort food. Our House Beef Noodle Soup is not like Vietnamese style pho but Chaozhou style noodle soup.

Pretty solid noodle house with yummy broth and a good variety of choices to order from. We ordered the Crabmeat Tomato Basil Noodles and House Special with Mixed Noodles. We thought the flavors were good and there was enough to take home for some leftovers. The place wasn’t crowded before noon. This is our second time here and they have specials if you order over $39 worth of food and pay in cash you can get a drink included with your meal. Hope this place stays around. Parking on the street if it’s available.

I love this little noodle shop, it's a mom and pop shop and they serve the best soups of any noodles dishes. They have pho, hu tieu, Cantonese style beef egg noodles soups, and many more. You can't go wrong with the noodles dishes here, they're all solid and so delicious. The servings are appropriate and you can order a large for the noodles dishes. The owners are so sweet and you can tell that they put in the hard work into making your order. I would come here for lunch whenever I can but their short hours on the weekday make it hard for me to catch them. They also have rice dishes and dumplings that are also delicious. I'm already thinking about the next bowl of noodles I'll get from them.

The most disappointed take out! The store was recommended by a social media. I ordered No. 1 large. The portion was small, and the chicken was so dry. Also No. 5 large, it's the house special. The portion was small, but the quality is not good either. The fish ball and beef ball were not tasty at all. I gave the store two stars as I hope the owner/chef be serious about the quality of the food. Sorry, it's not a store I will come back and recommend to my friends.

Google
Came to this restaurant already few times because the food are so delicious and fresh, especially the broth is so flavorful and not greasy at all. The meat no matter chicken or beef are moist and tender. We’ve tried different kinds of rice noodle and rice with chicken leg, love it a lot!! The most important thing is that the amount of food are very large, it’s hard to find other noodle at the same price better than this one. Also this restaurant is very clean and neat. Definitely worth to try, you won’t regret it!!

Google
It is definitely my favorite place to go for a weekday quick lunch. Food is super delicious and heathy and the staff is very nice, personable and trying to tailor its service to different customers needs. I am simply addictive to the tomato basil crabmeat noodle soup EVERY time and the salted plum with sparking soda is super refreshing and highly recommended too!!! Simply love this place!

Nice small restaurant, very different from the area.

Google
Came to this place with my wife for lunch today, we ordered the Crabmeat Tomato Basil Soup (Bun Rieu) and Special Beef Noodle Soup (Pho Dac Biet). Both soup base taste bland, the Beef Noodle Soup has no beef flavor, it has the chicken flavor instead. The Crabmeat Tomato soup has no flavor at all. They only give the bean spouts and couple slice of jalepeno. When I ask the waitress for some basil leaves and vegetables that supposedly come with the shoup and she said they dont have any and rudely pointed to my tomato saying that the vegetable. Very disappointed experience. There is better options close by.

Delicious. You have to sit down and eat here

Yelp
Delicious food. Nice and clean environment. Friendly service. It's my favorite place for breakfast/lunch.

Yelp
First time here. It's a cute quaint restaurant. There's plenty of photos of the food along the walls of the restaurant. I wanted to order everything but we decided to order 3 dishes. Food was so delicious! 10/10 recommend and will come back to try other dishes!

Yelp
I came here for the thai ice tea bear but honestly got impressed by the amazing food. The broth from this noodle soup was Heavenly capital H. So much flavor and the food was hearty it hit the spot for me straight to the soul. Kind of gave me hong kong fish ball soup vibe crossed with Teochew/viet flavors. Very umami and delicious. Not to mention the service was top notch. This place is a hidden gem hole in the wall. Must try!

Yelp
Cute spot a couple of doors down north of Garden Cafe. It's easy to miss because the signage is on the street level but it's there. We got two large bowls of noodles and the portions were very, very generous. The brown chicken with chicken gizzard and liver was delicious. The broth is perfectly light and the chicken and the innards very well made. In fact, dare I say, this tasted better than most pho ga I've eaten around the SGV. The chicken and innards just tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Also had the large special beef rice noodles which equivalent to a pho dac biet. It was massive and I was stuffed. The broth was delicious and not filled with MSG (no post-meal thirst). I got their famous Thai ice bear milk tea which is Thai iced tea topped with a frozen piece of the tea in the shape of a bear. For $5.99, it comes with refills. I'll admit I got this drink because it was cute but it turned out to be the best Thai iced tea I've ever had. I rarely order it because I often find restaurants and boba shops make it way too sweet (or diluted if I ask for less sugar). The one here is strong, creamy and not very sweet. Literally perfect. If I wasn't so stuffed and if it wasn't $5.99 a pop, I would've had more of it. Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu options in the near future. The restaurant is rather small with only 5 or 6 tables for parties of up to 4 but service was quick and attentive. They are a very popular spot for takeout as traffic was steady with people picking up their orders on a weekday lunch hour. If you spend over a certain amount, you can take a complimentary drink with you on your way out - either a lemon iced tea or Thai iced tea depending on the amount spent (as of Jan 2024).

Yelp
I actually came here for the Thai Tea with the bear. Tried their house special noodle and it's good. I ordered large and it's so big, a lot of noodle and toppings. The Thai tea is good, free one refill. The place is small, it makes you feel cozy. Clean and simple decors. The service is pretty good; attentive and fast. I definitely will come back again.

Ammie T.

Yelp
Thai milk tea was flavorful and not water down. The crab noodle soup was okay not enough noodles and very few ingredients in the soup. The soup was flavorless. The hot and sour noodle was so bland and felt like someone just mixed all the left over together. Was not very appetizing. Service was fast and friendly. Small a very small place and there is no parking. We parked at the back and some lady for another store told us it's not for restaurant parking and the owners should not be letting people park there. So be prepared to look for parking in the streets. Will I come back again probably not.

Cheska Z.

Yelp
I ordered the house special rice noodle and the chicken noodle, and both were consistently good. The food arrived quickly, and the flavors were fantastic. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes from the menu! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Arnold T.

Yelp
Stopped by following a recommendation by a friend and I do have to say, my stomach was well satisfied. Ordered the crabmeat tomato basil noodle soup, five five hot and sour rice noodle, and steamed chicken with chili sauce. First off, the steamed chicken with chili sauce was good, although I have to say that the chili sauce is very reminiscent of the lao gan man chili sauce (if not the same). Chicken was tender and savory and was enjoyable. I tried a little of the tomato basil noodle soup and although good, I would have enjoyed it slight more if the flavor was stronger since it was a bit light for my taste. The five five hot and sour rice noodle, however was the standout. In comparison, each bite satisfied each of my taste buds. It does have a moderate sour taste (hence the name) so if you're one who avoids such flavors, this may not be the best option for you. However, definitely still worth a try if you can. The interior is a bit small and service can be a bit slow at times since there's only one person working in the front (at least during the time I was there - on a weeknight around 7 p.m.). Parking can also be a challenge since there's no designated lot so you'll have to park on the street. Give it a try!

Yelp
Good food. Nice hot soups. Very small restaurant , but clean and sometimes the most hidden places are good. Service was good and they were really nice.

Francesca L.

Yelp
Small shop I think only 6 tables so don't go with a big group. I tried the crab tomato bas noodle soup, only came with jalapeño, bean sprouts, and lemon on the side, although it appears like a bun rieu there are no herbs so I found it lacking some flavors. The dish that did not lack flavor was the salivating chicken! Tender chicken and flavorful spicy sauce, the dish lived up to the name. We actually wanted chicken wings but they were out so the server suggested this instead. Glad she took the time to offer an alternative.

Yelp
This place is definitely NOT 5 star worthy especially being in the SGV area where there are way better & way more flavorful spots. Food here is comparable to BMC, low quality and simple. Price wise and taste wise BMC still beats fivefive noodles by a long shot. Had I known they "try" to do fusion Viet noodle soups, I would've ate at a legit pho spot better. And let's be honest I came here for the Thai milk tea bear which they didn't have and it took them 20 mins after placing my order to let me know. Wish the waitress told me that sooner. Btw their milk tea is the worse I've ever had, watered down, tasteless with no creamy texture. Store bought premade bottled Thai tea is way more superior. Service is molasses slow, took 30 minutes just to get our Thai teas! While almost every table that came after us got their drinks. Hard pass, there is wayyyy better fusion spots around! Also, this place is tiny, so tiny that you won't even see it driving by, which is a good thing. Just keep driving you aren't missing anything!

Ann M.

Yelp
Cute small restaurant next to Garden cafe. Service was great, they cleaned the table and closed the drapes so the sun wasn't in my face when I ate. The Thai ice tea is super cute with the bear on top but it lacked flavor. Not pictured is lemon tea which I liked more than the thai tea. Maybe just too much ice or not sweet enough for the Thai tea. The chiu chow noodles were good and flavorful. The spicy sour noodles were good as well and you can choose the level of spiciness. The chili oil chicken was the best dish and my favorite. The burn of the sauce with slight sweetness was fantastic. Overall good spot for a quick dinner.

Yelp
This little spot is located on Baldwin Ave, right before you turn onto Huntington Drive, in Arcadia. Tucked in the corner, make sure you look and don't miss it. I had seen the ads on IG about the Thai Tea drinks with the bear shaped ice figures, and thought they were so cute! That's what initially caught my eye, so I ventured in to get a sip. But I found out there's more to this place than tea! It's a very small, quaint noodle shop, with about 6 tables? I can't remember. Seating is limited, but when we came it, we had a nice table available to us by the window. We wanted to try everything on the menu, but 2 people can only eat so much right? Haha. It was a little breezy outside, and raining too, so we opted for warm soup. And what's better than beef stew!!!! I was suprised to see beef stew on the menu, and the flavors were so good! You can really taste all the different spices, and the beef was so tender, and noodles chewy. Definitely hit the spot. For appetizer, we ordered the cold steam chicken with hot oil and peanuts. Oh my! Spicy and simple. If you love hot oil, then this is for you. My friend also ordered their dry noodle dish, which had egg rolls and bbq pork over vermicelli noodles. The veggies were really fresh. And the cutest part of our experience, was of course, the Thai Tea. It was sad when the ice bears started melting, but we got free refills, so I didn't mind. Haha. Anyway, if you're looking for a nice place to devour into some noodles, this is the hot spot for you. Come through!!!

Yelp
We don't usually venture out to Arcadia to eat, but my brother was craving noodles so we decided to try this place out. It's a very small and cozy restaurant with about 6-7 tables. I don't think they've been open for very long and I think they're probably most popular for their Thai iced tea with the Thai tea bear on top... so of course we had to try that! Here are the noodle dishes we tried: - Crabmeat tomato basil noodle soup - House special mixed noodle - Chicken noodle soup with egg noodles - Rice noodles with brown chicken and gizzards I don't think I've had soup noodles like this before and it included some things I don't usually eat (i.e. blood, gizzards, etc.). It might not be for everyone but it's worth trying. The texture of the egg noodles really stood out to me. The egg noodles were wider than what I normally had and I liked them a lot more than the rice noodles. Although the Thai tea is obviously very cute, it's actually probably some of the best tasting Thai tea I've had. It was super flavorful but not overly sweet, which is hard to find. You get a free refill, and when you're finished and the bear has melted a bit it's kind of like having Thai tea shaved ice. There's a parking lot in the back, but can be easy to miss especially since the street can be kind of busy. Parking lot is also pretty small but we managed to grab a spot. Overall I don't think I would go out of my way to come here again because this isn't personally my go-to food choice, but it's definitely worth a try. Service was also really great!

Elle C.

Yelp
Got the house special mixed noodles. Egg noodles were quite tasty, but thought the broth was a bit bland. They make the Thai iced tea in-house with actual tea leaves and have this super cute Thai tea ice bear. Service was good, about 6 tables for seating, and a small parking lot in the back of the building and street parking.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp and got to try it today with my coworkers. What stood out for me was the cute Thai tea with the bear ice! So CUTE!!! ***This review is for To-Go only. *** Located on Baldwin Ave. Right next to Garden Cafe. Small little restaurant. Very clean and new. We all ordered the House Special Rice Noodle. I believe it's Chiu Chow style noodles. Flavorful, savory and decent portions. BUT! Small order costs $15 and its a $1 more for large. I ordered a large because i wanted to see what difference it is. I regret ordering a large because the bowl looks exactly the same. I feel like I got ripped off the extra money. I had to call the restaurant back to ask them which bowl was large because they all look same! Same amount of pieces of meat and shrimp (i have photos for reference) the only difference was the bowl was a tiny bit taller. Got to try the cute Thai tea with the ice bear. Just a typical thai tea but don't think its worth the $6 for it. Overall, the food was good and service was quick and nice people.

Yelp
I came on a Saturday at noon time for lunch. There was a wait but I was next in line. The place is very small only 6 tables of 4. It's north of the Garden Café. They have a small parking lot in the back or street parking. I had this place bookmarked for a while since I was attracted by their teddy bear thai tea. I actually had no expectations for the food, only the drink but boy was I wrong. We ordered the Brown Chicken and gizzard rice noodle, house special with rice noodle and the teddy bear thai tea. Both noodle soups were packed with flavor. I read a review that the flavors are bland but I found the flavors were strong yet they didn't use msg. No idea how they did it but it was really good. The chicken was soft and tender and served with the green onion ginger sauce. The teddy bear thai tea was also really good. It was not over sweeten like most places. It came with one refill which was nice. Service was ok. We had to ask for refills and the check but that's normal for Chinese places. They also offered freebies like an ice tea or a thai tea if you order over a certain amount of money and pay in cash. We only had 2 people so we didn't meet the spending minimums but if you come in a group of 3 or 4 you can easily meet the minimums. I will be back again.

Yelp
I had an incredible dining experience at Five Five Noodles! The noodles were absolutely delicious, and I'm already looking forward to returning. The soup was exceptionally flavorful, and I highly recommend trying order #5; the portions were generous, and the meat was delectable. Overall, a truly satisfying and flavorful meal! The lady attending to us was incredibly kind and accommodating, and her funny kid added a delightful touch to the experience. Their hospitality made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

Evana L.

Yelp
A great spot for lunch! They have many delicious noodle and rice options. We ordered the: - #5 House special rice noodle (super yummy! came with a variety of meats and toppings) - #8 Hot and sour rice noodle (great for a cold day) - Steamed chicken with chili sauce (really tasty) - Thai ice bear milk tea (so cute and delicious) The servers were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it may be hard to come with a bigger group. We could only find street parking on the street in front of the restaurant which wasn't plentiful but still possible.

Linda T.

Yelp
Initially my friend and I came here wanting to get the Thai Iced Tea with the cute bear, but they were sold out for the day. We were craving some noodle soup and this was the perfect spot. Blink though and you just might miss the small narrow parking lot for this small mom and pop shop. I recommend parking on the street as there are no more than 5 parking spots shared with other shops and 1 handicap spot in the back. The restaurant itself is small. There are no more than 6 or 7 tables. Service was wonderful, the lady there was so sweet and nice. There are plentiful food items on their menu from rice to noodles to egg rolls. It's like a Vietnamese/Chinese menu. I ordered the House Special Egg Noodle Soup - and there's nothing I love more than a hearty warm bowl of noodle soup. It's such a comfort meal for me. They're very generous with their portions and I had a good amount of leftovers. It was really good. 5/5 Enjoy

Hannah S.

Yelp
I had to come see what this little bear in the tea was all about haha! I also love a good noodle house and was excited to see a new one nearby yay! We were not disappointed on our visit! The Thai Tea with the cute little bear is really fun - So come for the bear but stay for their yummy noodles! I tried the House Special with rice noodles - it's a big bowl of hot, brothy deliciousness. It comes with several thinly sliced pieces of beef, a couple of shrimp, some fish balls and beef balls, a slice of another type of beef (or kidney maybe - not sure), and ground pork. The flavors are definitely there - it's savory and has depth. I also really enjoyed the texture of the rice noodles - just the right amount of firmness. It comes with a plate of bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, and lemon. Their Thai Tea comes with a frozen Thai tea bear in it so that is super fun! The tea tastes pretty typical - it was good. I agree with other reviewers though- they pack the glass FULL of ice so it's gone in a few gulps lol - I think it's to help the bear stand up better. But this particular tea comes with free refills and by the second round the poor little bear was drowning in the tea haha! Inside is small but cozy - they have a TV and on our visit it was playing some very entertaining music performances. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The menu is limited but decent - I definitely want to come back and try one of their vermicelli bowls. Prices are a little high imo - but I think they're no different than anything else in the area - just how it is nowadays lol. There is street parking directly out front - it's limited to 2 hours from 9am-6pm and it's on a busy street. It looked like there may be some additional parking in back as well. Overall we enjoyed our lunch experience and will definitely be back! Happy to have this new noodle spot in town!

Christine T.

Yelp
We came in Sunday night around 6pm and the restaurant was empty. Street parking was easy to find. Restaurant was nice and clean with soft Chinese music playing in the background. Service was friendly. We ordered house special egg noodle soup and the white cut chicken w steamed rice. Foods came out quickly. The noodle was good, lot of toppings and fulfilling. However the chicken rice was not as good. Chicken was tender but white rice was very dry and hard. Overall, it was ok to give it a try.

Thuy Dan T.

Yelp
Not gonna lie, I first came here for the Thai tea with the bear on top and I don't regret it! Menu is concise with various noodles, rice, and protein dishes. Ordered the soft chicken in chili sauce was very tasty. The chicken was tender and had the nice, soft texture you'd expect from steaming it. The chili sauce was flavorful, had a nice sting to it, and the peanut toppings gave a good crunch. Mixed beef noodles soup - it resembled a Bo Kho (Vietnamese Braised Beef Stew) to me but thinner consistency. The mixed rice and egg noodles was interesting. The beef chunks were tender and the carrots gave a nice bite. FiveFive Sour and Hot: It was sour, tangy and served with with more or a vermicelli noodle (but menu says rice). Served with sliced beef and pieces of thai chili and eggs. I thought it was a unique noodle soup that you wouldn't normally see on a menu. Lastly onto the Bear Thai Tea. The tea flavor was good but was wayyy too much ice. Too much ice to where it was difficult for the bear to even melt and you could drink the whole glass in one gulp (without even trying that hard).

Austin W.

Yelp
Five Five Noodles serves up decent noodle dishes with generous portions. While the flavor could be enhanced a bit more, the staff is welcoming and attentive. The interior, though on the smaller side, provides an intimate dining experience.

Kenny W.

Yelp
This is my new favorite noodle shop. I got the number 5. It came with shrimp and lots of other meats. The star was that broth that was nice and smooth enough to drink. Plus, the lady serving the food was awesome. She was ultra attentive, granted there were no other customers. She still performed with a level of service that's rarely seen these days. I'll definitely be a frequent patron of this place going forward.

Luke L.

Yelp
*** Review on take-out order *** One day I was in a mood of getting Chiu Chow noodle, but most Chiu Chow restaurants close by 4 PM. Luckily, I discovered that Fivefive Noodles was one of the only places that still serving Chiu Chow noodle after 6 PM in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley). [Ordering]: There's a $25 minimum in order to use credit cards. I called the restaurant and placing a takeout order was a breeze. The waitress said my order will be ready in 20 minutes and she was true to her words. [Parking]: Street parking only, but plenty of street parking spots in this part of the neighborhood. *** #5 House Special Egg Noodle (small for $13.99): The broth had a savory flavor, but I probably should have dined in instead of getting takeout. Egg noodles arrived in a solid rectangular shape and looked like pre-packaged ramen. Decent toppings except one of them tasted slightly bitter. *** I have a feeling that my experience would have been much better if I had ordered rice noodles instead of egg noodles. P.S. - They use an Instagrammable bear-shaped ice cube for their Thai iced tea.

Steph D.

Yelp
This is a cute mom and pop shop on Duarte Rd. They are brilliant to create the Thai Tea bear drink because everyone ordered it! Our waitress even asked if we wanted a refill Togo. We ordered the house special noodle bowls, which you can choose either egg or rice noodles. The presentation is mediocre, but the flavors taste clean and hearty. We enjoyed the chewy texture of the noodles combined with a various assortment of meat and meatballs. The ambiance is very casual and small. You can't come with a large party or you will take up the whole restaurant.

Kevin J.

Yelp
Food was delicious! I tried the house special rice noodles, hot and sour noodles, fire chicken and thai iced tea. In general their flavors are more subtle than other restaurants yet still having a nice flavor profile which i enjoyed. The small hot and sour noodle was huge, so i can't imagine how much more they give for large. I like that the place is really clean and well kept as well.

Cindy G.

Yelp
came here for an early dinner. we got there minutes after they opened and were seated right away. shortly after, all the tables (5 tables total) were full. i ordered the house special with egg noodles and my husband got the pork vermicelli. my house special was good. i saw that ppl said it was bland but i think it's meant to be a nice clean broth and then you add lemon and spicy accordingly. my husband liked the vermicelli but said the sauce was a lil sweeter than he's used to. the thai tea tho was bomb! we got a lemon tea for free cause we paid cash and that was bomb too! they both had a strong tea flavor which i love. the establishment is pretty small. only one waitress and one cook but our waitress was very nice and attentive. will definitely return.

Camille R.

Yelp
Came for the hot n sour soup because their instagram video of it sold it so good. Alot more spicier than I expected. I asked for mild, but it still was pretty challenging to eat. I wish I had more heat tolerance. The Thai tea with the ice bear in it helped with the heat problem. Not a very large spot but cozy and inviting nonetheless. Will come back to try more dishes.

Frank O.

Yelp
Some dishes are amazing, two are soso but I'll give them the 5-star rating. Been here twice, it's a small dining room with six tables. They don't have a reservation system (online or by phone), so it's first come first serve. Single bathroom stall in the back, seems very small place and a husband-wife team (kitchen and service respectively). Every dish is large, probably 1.5 people worth of food. We feed 4 adults with 3 dishes. They offer some free drinks if you spend above a certain threshold and pay in cash. For $50+ it's their Thai Tea which comes with a frozen bear statue. The way this looks nice in pictures is that the cup is filled with ice and the bear rests on top. We ask for the bear on the side and then no-ice in the cup and it comes about 80% full. Thai tea tastes like a stock Thai tea, fine as a freebie but would not pay for it out of pocket (and I suspect the bear is for Insta pics). Twice we've had the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork. It also comes with two shrimp and an egg roll. A pretty simple dish but tastes great. I like the eggroll more than the other proteins, the pork is seasoned and cooked while the shrimp looks and tastes like it was boiled or steamed whole. With a pour of fish sauce and a mix all the ingredients come together well. Further the bowl is large and too much for a 6 foot guy to finish by himself. The House Special Egg noodle soup is also very good. It looks like a pho but the broth is closer to a chicken soup. Inside there are egg noodles (good chewy texture but hard to separate) and various proteins (shrimp, fishball, meatball, sliced beef). Each time we have leftovers to take home for another meal. The chicken leg with rice looks basic but was somehow well seasoned and moist. The Crabmeat tomato basil noodle soup was rich, would like more crabmeat but still worth the value, and was one of a few dishes finished while still there. The steamed chicken with chili is an appetizer that is about an entrée portion. Here the chicken plays backup to the chili sauce and generous peanuts on top. It is served cold and easy to take leftovers home.

Phoua T.

Yelp
Upon coming in, the staff greeted and was feiendly. The shop is small and clean. Food was great and the thai was amazing. If you bring in cash, the thai tea is free if you order about $50 worth of food. They also have a zelle or venmo option if you dont have cash. Would definitely come back for their food and drinks.

Doreen T.

Yelp
We visited during the grand opening promo for the free Thai ice bear milk tea. Their menu consists of Vietnamese & Chiu Chow entrees. We got: #5 House Special Rice Noodles #10 Rice Vermicelli with grilled pork, egg rolls, and shrimps Their portion is just right and I noticed they don't use MSG, heavy oil or a lot of salt. It's great if you are trying to cut down sodium and cholesterol. The ice bear is definitely a unique novelty and it got us in the door! Hope to come back to try to chicken rice dish next time.

Ana T.

Yelp
I had been wanting to come to this place to eat ever since I first saw pictures of that boba bear. Definitely was not disappointed. It's a small restaurant but interior is bright and nice. Service was good and attentive...they don't bother you while you're eating but they'll know when you need something. I got the House Special Rice Noodle and Thai Ice Bear Milk Tea. The soup was light and meal was tasty. The Thai milk tea was good, and they would give you a refill. Looking forward to coming back.

Ed C.

Yelp
Small mom & pop shop serving freshly made Vietnamese/Chinese fusion food! Overall I had a good experience. Got the #2 (rice noodles with brown chicken and gizzards). The soup was really light and not salty, which made it really taste like a homemade meal. Chicken was tender, and gizzards were good. The Vietnamese iced coffee was only OK, so I'd pass on that The owner lady running the dining room was very nice and friendly. She had her young daughter with her, while the husband appeared to run the kitchen. Clean space, with only 5 tables. Good for a quick, light bowl of noodle soup!

Amy W.

Yelp
What a great find amongst so many other bigger restaurants nearby. This is a true mom and pop shop run by a hardworking husband and wife couple. The place can be easily missed as it's a small shop. Parking in the rear or street parking. They have a good variety of familiar noodle dishes. I finally got to try the chicken rice that is always sold out. Now I know why, the chicken meat was tender and flavorful. We also got the beef rib stew with egg noodles. The noodles gave the perfect chewiness. The beef stew was aromatic and I can taste the long hours of it being cooked. The hot and sour noodle soup was a great pack of flavors. This is nostalgic of home cooked noodles. The pickled veggies, meat, egg and spices gave a rich bowl of heartiness. We got a surprise with a free giant beef rib soup when we ordered $50 of food. Overall, I enjoyed how healthy all the broth taste without heavy oil or salt.

Yelp
Love to see these new mom and pop shops opening in my hometown and this place is pretty good! They have some notable things that I enjoyed while I tried some things I've never had before. First off I love the drinks. The salted ume with sparkling water was very tasty it had a unique sweet flavor that I enjoyed. Also the Thai tea had a ice bear floating on top which is great for pictures moments. For appetizers we got the egg rolls which were crispy and something I'd recommend. The fish sauce that it comes with is bomb. We also tried the steamed chicken with Chilli sauce from the special menu which was pretty good as well although I'm not a huge fan of cold chicken. Really good if you're into that though. For the entrees I tried the five five hot and sour rice noodles. I've never heard or had that before but to be honest this was kind of a no go for me. It came with a stinky tofu type fragrance which was a bit offsetting but past the smell the soup wasn't too hot or sour to me, a bit bland actually. The meat and eggs along with the noodles were tasty though. Overall wouldn't get again but worth a try. The second entree I tried was the house special rice noodle. Now this one I would recommend, the soup is a bit on the sweeter side than other restaurants I've tried but the portions are pretty large and the ingredients seem fresh. Even the kidney that it came with wasn't too gamey at all! I ended up parking on the street and it's a small restaurant with like 5 tables so you may wait if it's prime eating hours. Def come support this mom and pop shop! I'll have to try the vermicelli noodles next time because I heard good things.

Yelp
Love that this place had the cutest Bear Boba drink ! Great presentation. Order the boiled chicken I found that it need to be cooked more ,found the chicken under cooked, The rice had a strong fish flavor. This place wasn't for me.

Yelp
Mainly went here for the cute Thai tea bear. The Thai tea was made very well and not extremely sweet like how most places make it. They put a lot of ice in the small cup, but glad they give 1 free refill. I tried the beef stew noodle soup and crab tomato noodle soup , but both soup bases were very bland. I also ordered the pork and beef vermicelli , they were the best two dishes out of everything. However the egg roll that came with it was just ok. I would say they make meat right, but soups are lacking with no depth in flavor.

Yelp
New mom and pop shop that opened less than a month ago that serves fusion dishes including noodle soup, vermicelli dishes and rice plates. We ordered the brown chicken and gizzards rice noodle soup and house special noodle soup. Both soup dishes felt homey and soothing. The broth did not taste like it was full of msg compared to other places, and we were not scrambling for water after each sip of soup. The broth was flavorful, and the portion sizes were huge and well worth it at it's price point. The egg rolls were crispy and crunchy and served with a side of fish sauce. The salted Ume sparkling soda drink was interesting but the combo worked really well . It reminded me of calpico soda with plum flavor. Overall, a very clean restaurant with around 6 tables inside. The owners were very nice and friendly. There is parking behind the building as well as street parking.

Yelp
This new restaurant just opened up and they serve great Chinese fusion noodles. We got their House special rice noodles, which is a Chiu Chow noodle dish, and their Chicken rice noodles with gizzard. Both noodle dishes were flavorful and filling. I enjoyed the house special noodle broth and the chicken dish was juicy and tender. We also got the egg rolls which came with a fish sauce and for drinks we got the Vietnamese coffee and Ume sparkling soda. The egg rolls were very crispy and delicious with a had a Vietnamese fusion to it. The Vietnamese coffee had a coffee flavor to it and the ume sparkling soda tasted like sprite with several dried plums. Overall a nice little mom and pop shop serving comforting Asian fusion noodles. I would definitely come back to support this newly opened restaurant.

Yelp
Fivefive replaced one of my favorite mom n pop restaurants. This restaurant is located in a fairly busy street, but the store itself is not in a good visible area nor is the layout really that good. The place showed up on the hot and new list some months ago and I've put it in my places to try list. Food: Ordered pho, pho ga and a soy sauce chicken rice. One of the first things I noticed with the broth is it didn't have much of a Vietnamese taste to it. It was very much a homemade flavor with little to no MSG. The food felt a lot healthier. At my age I didn't mind a meal like this on the blander side. If you're looking for that umami MSG kick, this is not your place. Service: Only 1 gal working the front on a semi busy sunday night. The service was a bit slower than you'd expect, but she had a positive attitude. Environment: Parking is readily available in the street. I think the rear parking lot is also available. Seating is pretty limited. Maybe capacity at 20 people? Price: Price is fairly average for the type of food. This place definitely is catering to the Chinese clientele as opposed to the Vietnamese crowd. Why you ask? They had Chinese music playing followed by Chinese dramas being played on the TV. All the customers spoke mandarin. Food: 4 Environment: 3 Service: 3 Price: 4

Yelp
The food here reminds me of home cooking, simple and it hits the spot! They offer a good variety of Vietnamese-inspired noodles. The noodles come in a small or large sizes, and you can choose rice or egg noodle (or mixed noodles). We tried the house special soup with egg noodles and the beef stew with mixed noodles! The egg noodles are not your traditional thin egg noodle but a thicker one. The portions are generous, and they have a free drink special if you spend a certain amount of money and pay in cash. Overall, it was good but I'm still on the quest to find my ultimate noodle spot!

Yelp
This is a small mom and pop shop that is right by Garden Cafe. The space is a little small but it was inviting and clean. It's a great catch up or date spot. Also perfect if you're looking for a light, healthy option. The server was friendly and helpful by making suggestions for my indecisive self. I went with the smaller bowl of chicken + chicken gizzard rice noodles (portion was bigger than I expected) and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was silky, tender, and cooked just right. The broth was flavorful, balanced, and light. And their version of Thai tea includes a cute little ice bear. Thai tea is usually very sweet, but it was at the level I prefer and it wasn't very creamy. I highly recommend coming for a visit.

Yelp
Ordered to go but love how quaint the little noodle place is. I am surprised at their crab tomato noodle which I can only find them at Vietnamese restaurant (and not all of them can make this noodle right!). We also love the house special rice noodles and highly recommend this place. Definitely will come back to try other noodles on the menu.

Yelp
The restaurant is located off Baldwin by the Arcadia Garden cafe. Found street parking. I ordered for takeout over the phone. Super nice lady but a tad broken English so you may want to order by the numbers on the menu. I tried the house special rice noodle soup and egg rolls. Food tastes great. The egg rolls did get a bit soggy at home but probably dining in would have still been crispy. The house special rice noodle soup is one of my favorites and not all chinese restaurants have it so I'm happy there's now a spot nearby I can go to get it. Small store but friendly staff.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! Honestly, some of the dishes like the rice and the soup are much better than the Vietnamese dishes I know in Little Saigon OC.

Yelp
Their crabmeat tomato basil soup and their house special noodle soup is what I typically order since they're consistently good. Perfect to satisfy your noodle soup cravings. There are a few tables inside which is nice and clean. Th eir chili oil is good and their vinegar chili goes really well with the dishes.

Yelp
Looking for a Vietnamese food place to eat near home, and we are glad to have found this place! It's a small restaurant, and the service is great! Hubby had the House Special, and I had the Crabmeat tomatoes rice noodle soup. We both finished our bowl of soups. We will come back and try other dishes on their menu.

Yelp
Menu is simple and focused on noodles. For the price and quantity, definitely a place at least worth trying. Their Thai tea comes with one free refill. 5 stars less so to compare to fancy food but as mentioned, for what you pay and get it's worth a five star try.
