What to Eat Inside St. Paul’s Keg & Case Food Hall - Eater Twin Cities

"Five Watt is the first to open at the market in the morning and a fantastic place to hit either before digging into all the good food, or after a big meal. Known for coffee cocktails, there’s a 90s-inspired one that comes with a Tootsie Roll." - Joy Summers

Google
Good coffee! Kind, happy employees! I’ve always had top notch service here. They accept Apple Pay as well. My usual drink is the busy beaver with oat milk!

Very very good! We like to try coffee when traveling as much as we can. This was amazing and probably my favorite to date. I had The Saints with halva. It was so so good. First time having halva as well. Very good. My husband had The Kingfield which he loved as well. Will definitely go back!

Finally tried their coffee here on a whim I always visited keg & case but for other venues not the coffee. Glad I did though because their menu is so different from other local coffee shops. I like how they added black pepper to this drink and it actually taste good ! I was nervous but it just balances it out so good. I often come here just for this honestly now sometimes for the food though to.

Very nice place! One of the baristas even let me taste the lavender honey syrup they had before I ordered it in my latte! Very delicious Oat milk latte :) also very nice atmosphere for coffee and chatting so thanks!!

Google
Loved the creativity in flavors and drink profiles. Excellent cold brew. The Gin Basil drink is 👌🏽. Both the gin bitters and basil simple were impeccably balanced! Friendly barista. Def a repeat stop!

Google
FANTASTIC QUALITY ESPRESSO! The iced miel latte wasn't too sweet and the measurements of honey and cinnamon were perfect. Service was wonderful too. Highly highly recommend their espresso drinks.

Google
I have been to literally a hundred different coffee shops from AK to Mississippi, CA to NC and this by far has the best Dirty Chai I have ever experienced

Google
Perfect for a little Sunday morning reading and writing. Love the sunny little nook next to the coffee shop.

Yelp
Stopped in on my way is it to the Twin Cities. Coffee drinks were great had the Pollinator, and another one with black pepper ( can't remember the name) it was great and both full of flavor and undertone nuances

Yelp
Absolutely, positively delicious cappuccinos to be had by all here. Great coffee and a pleasant experience. What more could you ask for...

Yelp
Gosh I just love a great flavored latte and Five Watt delivers. A great balance of espresso and the multitude of flavors so it's never too sweet (ahem like I find a larger coffeehouse chain to be). The staff was quick and friendly and the vibe tucked on the first floor of Keg & Case is hip yet cozy. Lots of table and seating options to work, study or socialize too!

Yelp
This five watt location is not the best, even their coffee doesn't taste as good. I prefer the Five watt on lyndale or Nicolette.

Yelp
Best. Final. Coffee. Experience. In. The. Twin. Cities. I was exploring Keg & Case Market and decided to stop by the Five Watt Coffee stand as it was highly recommended by a friend who's a local. I was really impressed by the unique syrups and many different combinations they have on their menu... I'm *always* a fan of coffee shops that boldly experiment with different flavor pairings with their drinks and are creative with their menu. The barista was funny and lighthearted which was a breath of fresh air after the long day that I had. I finally settled on trying out their basil syrup (my first time ever seeing and trying a basil syrup at a coffee shop) in my go-to coffee drink: a decaf oat milk cortado. The drink was so good I wanted to drink the cortado slowly and savor every sip!! The basil syrup wasn't too sweet, and was slightly earthy, which paired beautifully with their nutty yet cocoa flavored espresso and creamy oat milk. I can't believe I waited until the very last day of my visit to the twin cities to try Five Watt Coffee but rest assured I won't be making the same mistake next time I visit. Definitely check this spot out if you ever find yourself in Keg & Case Market!

Yelp
Most interesting coffee in the twin cities, bar none. They have perfected the "coffee cocktail" - the Big Easy is my personal favorite. Standard drinks are always excellent as well. I will routinely go way out of my way to get Five Watt, regardless of the location. Cannot recommend highly enough if you're bored of standard lattes and cold brew. Yelp Scale My scoring scale: 1 - would never go back 2 - would not recommend and try to avoid returning 3 - would return if convenient or if others wanted to 4 - would recommend and return happily 5 - will always recommend and return routinely

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much and it turned out to be an amazing latte. I ordered a Butterscotch oat milk latte and was not disappointed.

Yelp
This particular Five Watt Coffee is located within Keg and Case. They have their own entrance to the coffee shop but I chose to enter through the main entrance of Keg and Case. They have a lot of unique coffees to choose from and at this particular time they were featuring strawberry flavored coffees. I definitely want to go back and try these coffees. I visited five watt on a Thursday around noon. It was not particularly busy and there was one couple in front of me ordering when I arrived. It took some times to give my order as there was one person working who was in charge of ordering and making coffee. I ordered the Busy Beaver and it was great. Definitely a sweeter coffee but fun to have the kick of the black pepper flavor in the coffee. My friend ordered the vanilla latter and it was also very good. It was a nice and smooth coffee but also very sweet. If you do not enjoy sweet coffees this may not be your place but I will 100% be going back.

Yelp
Gave it another try and tried out the pumpkin drink they had! It was super delicious. It's a little pricey for the 16oz being $7 but I guess that's expected with the nicer coffee shops. I asked for them to make it less sweet and it turned out great.

Yelp
I love five watt coffee. This location is located in Keg and Case which is super cool. They have a variety of drink options as well as a good pastry selection. The staff here is very nice and friendly. Ask them for suggestions on what to get! I got one of their specialty cold drink and my boyfriend got a hot espresso drink. Wow they were good. They both had so much flavor and tasted awesome. We liked the iced one more. There is a few seats by the coffee area, but most of their seating is upstairs. The upstairs seating is split up from the brewery seating. Overall a cool place to come and grab coffee and shop around a bit! They have other cute shops and if you want to get lunch too, there is many options! Come here and try some unique coffee options!

Yelp
I came here on a Monday early afternoon and was able to find parking right outside on the street for free. I believe they have a free lot as well! There were more people there than I anticipated, there weren't any seats for me and my friend so we went upstairs where they had more seating for the general market. I ordered a large vanilla latte and it was pretty good! Overall a pretty good location if you're looking to grab a quick cup of coffee because you can also browse the surrounding vendors but they have a limited space so I wouldn't say it's the best to sit and chat with a friend or get work done.

Yelp
Brilliant service and unbelievable products. Like the best coffee in the cities. The people are very sociable and positive. I cannot say enough about this establishment

Yelp
Five Watt does it again - I love Five Watt coffee and the location in the West 7th Market is adorable! The staff are always friendly and the service is efficient. I love grabbing a coffee and walking around the market; an iced vanilla latte with oat or almond milk pairs well with a gourmet donut. Five Watt is my personal favorite vendor in the West 7th Market and i've never been disappointed by the coffee or the service. The menu has a balance of traditional espresso and tea drinks, and some more original Five Watt creations. Five Watt is my favorite local coffee chain and if you find yourself in the Twin Cities, I would recommend a visit to any of their locations. The West 7th location provides an experience unique to the other locations, as the market itself is quite cool and fun!

Yelp
One word: Tasty! I wouldn't call myself a coffee connoisseur by any means but I can be a bit of a coffee snob. I don't like my coffee too bitter or boiling hot; I don't care what you say but it takes real barista skill to perfect a good latte at the PERFECT temperature for immediate drinking. Five Watt has a pretty cool little space carved out within the market and I like that it's near the entrance because some people might want to just pop in the market exclusively for coffee and not want to navigate the building for a cup of joe to go. Although if you do want to stay they have a nice cozy area seating tucked in the corner should you not want to peruse the market. I've been twice now and both times I've gotten the seasonal special "Pumpkin Spice Lawsuit". It's real good. With REAL pumpkin. I'm anxious to return and try some other selections. The quality is definitely there and I'm sure everything else is amazing. I'd put Five Watt up there in my top 3 favorite MN coffee shops next to Black Eye and Quixotic.

Yelp
I got the Busy Beaver and my friend got the all day all night!! Absolutely amazing coffee highly recommend, cool location too!

Yelp
How awesome is it to have a brand new Five Watt around? I am obsessed with Keg and Case Market and the fact that it now has one of the best coffee shops around makes it even more awesome. I quite like the Five Watt space, located in the corner on the first floor of the market. It has its own cute little seating area so you can enjoy your caffeine with maybe a pastry and relax before exploring the rest of the market. If you don't feel like grabbing a seat at the table, there's also a simple bar with a few stools just to add to the seating options. The coffee bar and counter is spacious and beautiful - new and shiny and it's obvious a lot of work went into putting this space together. You can expect a fun neon sign as well as a graffiti wall and a bright green one for cool photo ops. Staff was pleasant upon my visit which is standard for Five Watt. If you've been to Five Watt, you know to expect excellent coffee. They have some of the most fun unique coffee drinks around. That stands true to this location as well. My favorite Kingfield ( espresso, vanilla, coriander bitters, milk, and black Hawaiian sea salt) us top of the menu and go-to. You will be surprised, however, to see some brand new concoctions exclusive just to this area alone like the 1994 BOYZ which is a cold press with vanilla, cream, cinnamon, bitters, and it comes with an actual tootsie roll. So fun! Five Watt is definitely a highlight at the Keg and Case Market, at least for a caffeine fiend like me and I'm sure it will be appreciated by many others as well thanks to their yummy lattes, warm cappuccinos, and sweet mochas!

Yelp
In my opinion, extremely strong coffee even though I asked for half-caf, 8 oz coffee was around $5.00 or $6.00 I would not recommend this place, costumer service was ok, but in conclusion Overpriced place.

Yelp
We checked out Keg and Case Market and found Five Watt Coffee right when we wanted to get some coffee to get our day going. I ordered the pumpkin spice lawsuit (probably a seasonal drink) and I was able to taste all the spices and it didn't taste like a big chained coffee shop pumpkin spice latte. We sat in the upstairs area of Keg and Case Market- it was a perfect drink for a freezing cold Monday morning!

Yelp
Awesome spot in a very nicely renovated building. Pastry was underwhelming- tasted day old. Nice macchiato.

Yelp
Favorite local coffee shop in the Twin Cities!! Try the drink named after their original location - the Kingsfield. The miel is great too. Customer service is excellent!! I asked for a custom latte with Cardamom and orange and they made it perfectly!!

Yelp
Pretty expensive for a coffee shop and this place had quite a bit of traffic so if you're looking for a peaceful place to get some work done I wouldn't come here. The menu has unique items and it would've been worth it had the drink been as exciting as the menu. I ordered the Kung Fu generation and the matcha flavor was lacking and the bitterness was excessive.

Yelp
Cool spot. Friendly staff. Pretty good brew.
google avatar

Farren S.

Yelp
This place has great style. As with other hip places, this one is sure to be a crowd pleaser in the Twin Cities area. There are a variety of options for seating around the market itself, and selection of stools to choose from right by and kind of inside the shop area. The coffee was good. However, a bit pricey for the super small cup. I ordered an Americano with steamed milk and it was about 8oz or less of total volume. I had to add an additional significant amount of cream to my drink. The service was good - no complaints on my end. If you are looking for a good cup of coffee give this place a try.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee place.. they have good and different flavors. I will comeback for sure

Yelp
Very good coffee and tea, good flavors and the employees obviously know what their doing. The cider and chai tea was a perfect blend. Only 4 stars though because the staff wasn't super friendly, they acted a little annoyed with me while placing my order. But maybe they were just having a bad morning. We will still be back :)

Yelp
I think the 5Watt Coffee male barista was running on low power 1Watt today when it comes to customer service. First thing he said, was Not "welcome" or "Hi, what would you like". But "Put your mask on!" I already had the mask on, but not cover over the nose (that how I like it). I told him "I breath through the mouth". Truth or not? it does not matter, but should be enough for him to stop right there and serve! Instead he started to argue. I hate these "small Popes" cop-wanna be trying to act authorities everywhere. We have enough of this stupidity mask thing, which does not stop any virus anyway, but makes situation worse, when restrict oxygen intake (weakens immune defense) and inhale again what you exhale. I told him, I don't want any espresso from you. Walked away and thinking to find maybe another coffee place inside, maybe a 100W customer service! Nothing there. I really wanted that espresso. Before I walked out I need to give the advice... I'm also in customer service field and the old good simple device is always true "customer is always right". Then he said that I was the one that was arguing! Enough of these little popes authorizes. You just lost a Lifetime customer... and got your deserved 1-Star feedback. Reflecting over the situation, this is from my viewpoint. I had a stressful day was going to a job in St Paul (coming from Mpls) Had 10 min over before starts and look forward to that espresso. I guess my anger about the whole mask idiocy was triggered by him and made me mad. But he did do nothing to relief situation. Could had said and I would be happy. "Hey I apologize, I will give you a Free espresso, and we welcome you back next time!"

Yelp
We stopped in an enjoyed amazing oat lattes at five watt yesterday. I love that it's a radio station too where indie artists can bring their music to be broadcast live.

Terry F.

Yelp
I stopped by Five Watt Coffee in the Keg&Case market of St Paul yesterday, mid-morning. Had my first $4 cup of very basic coffee... here's how that works... I asked what they were brewing, and the response was "we've got sort of a medium roast brewed over there". I said, sure, give me a cup of that. I guess I got the large, which is in the 12-16 ounce range (refills are $1 apparently). Price was $3.25. Barista hands me 3 quarters as my hand is perched about the large pickle-jar sized container with a "TIPS" sign attached. There is no way you don't drop those 3 quarters in that jar, amounting to a 23% tip on a VERY average cup of already over-priced coffee. There you have it, a $4 cup of coffee. Starbucks is where I go for a bargain now...
