I woke up this morning with my heart set on trying a paticular shop that I've been itching to get to. Much like every other time, it was closed. Apparently my cravings kick in on Mondays, the only day they aren't open. Perfect. Be that as it may, I still needed to be caffeinated or things would soon turn ugly.
The hunt began - to the Yelposphere in search of plan B. What caught my attention here was the house made bitters. Intrigued, I needed to know more. Nitro brew also available... hmm... my very tolerant of my whims husband's favorite. My choice was made. I'd do this for him! (& because I really needed more input on these bitters... and black Hawaiian salt...)
Seats were about 60% full, tho the majority were solos at 2-seater tables... and most were deep into the Matrix. No worries, we plopped our butts on the stage and watched - both of the guys behind the counter were surprisingly personable. It was easy to feel comfortable.
On to what you really want to know. Is the coffee any good. My husband said his nitro cold brew was & he appreciated it not being full of sweeteners. As for mine, the kingfield, it was thick and creamy, with a taste as rich as the aroma. The touch of salt offset the sweetness and enhanced the flavors, adding balance and depth. The cup finished clean, no syrupy residue or unmixed settlement. Good to the last drop has an entirely new meaning!
The added selection of toilet tissue was a fun touch and, obviously, a crowd pleaser.
Parking can be tricky, piles of snow and limited space. Seating can be just as tricky. Totally worth a stop tho - if you like a lil craftiness.
