We were SET on having pizza night, and it had been a few years since we've been to Fixture, so my parents, husband and I gave it a go!
It's a good size charming bistro with the exposed creamy city brick, cool behind-the-bar tiling, and high ceilings. Overall a welcoming atmosphere. Plus, they still have tables well-spread out which is appreciated.
Though we did come for pizza, and that's the speciality here, their menu is packed with options beyond that. Wings, pasta, sandwiches, soups, salads, and apps galore. We went with eggplant fries as a starter. You can't really go wrong with those... nice and crispy on the outside, topped with parm and herbs, and a delish marinara for dipping. We also put in a salad to share before the main event (pizza), but were bummed it came out last. However, it was very flavorful! It was the chopped salad, packed with greens, onions, chickpeas, gorgonzola cheese, garlic, and more.
Let me just say, two large pizzas was a silly amount for four people to share. Our eyes were certainly bigger than our stomachs! But fear not, to go boxes are on the ready. We ate about half of each: the Tin Tidow and a build-your-own Hawaiian style. I was definitely a bigger fan of the Hawaiian. Yummy slices of Canadian bacon (that weren't too greasey), a nice basil touch, and and sweet punch of pineapple. It was overall the lighter option, but my dad and hubby enjoyed the more meat and cheese-heavy Tin Widow.
Other notes: Service: on the slower end for sure, but we weren't in a hurry so it wasn't much of a bother. Parking: it can be tough around this area, as it's only street parking. Pricing: definitely reasonable - you get what you pay for... yummy za!
