Kantiners

"Steeped in tradition, this family-run business is now in its fourth generation. Kantiners is a tastefully designed restaurant that specialises in seasonal and regional cuisine. Pretty terraces front and back. The cosy bar is also nice. The Hotel Waldkrug proposes lovely guestrooms should you wish to extend your stay." - Michelin Inspector

I have traveled to this area many times for business meetings and in this instance the places where I have stayed in the past were either booked or over our corporate budget policy. I was able to book my stay for Hotel Waldkrug via my corporate travel portal. Because this was a pay in advance reservation, I was able to choose this hotel. The staff was very accommodating. I happened to have dinner at the hotel on both nights and breakfast as well. The food was excellent and the room was in great repair. I especially appreciated having English news options on the TV.

Will be back! What a great way to get away for the weekend. The spa treatments surpassed my expectations and the hotel staff were warm and accommodating. I booked a wellness weekend package and felt I got more than my money’s worth. All of my meals were prepared individually gluten free— a rare find in Germany!

This is truly a family-run hotel, and is so much the better for that! The hotel is located in the picturesque, little town of Delbrück, and offers first-class gastronomic delights, large, well-furnished rooms, and a top-notch sauna and wellness area, with swimming pool, which also has various water jets, etc. We have just spent new year there, and perhaps one of the best features is that all the staff knew who all of the guests were, and took a personal interest in their needs. It's never going to be the cheapest hotel in the world, but that's not the point! It may well be one of the friendliest, most comfortable hotels, and certainly the one in which you feel very much zu hause!

I love this place. I have been several times. The spa is lovely, clean, and enjoyable. I have had many services there and they are all great. I have enjoyed the baths and the massages. The restaurant is amazing. I’ve even brought family here for Christmas dinner. The rooms are very modern and nice. If you have any problems they will fix them. The earlier comment that the hotel doesn’t like Americans is a lie. I’m an American and I come here often. I speak German but not the best. The staff has never been rude and they speak English if I need them too. I have no complaints about this place. I love it. It’s a great place to relax and eat if you live nearby and a great place to stay if you live farther away.

Been here a few times, quality has changed, flowers are gone, the old vibe is just gone. Cheaper and low quality food and coffee. You can tell they’ve changed the quality and before they had more staff as well. But post Covid the place isn’t the same. Staff is bitter and rude and catty. They hold an air of “we are better than you,” when they’re just receptionists and staff that are supposed to help you. Instead they stop you from getting proper services and massages or even scheduling anything with the property. They speak to you like a dog or turn their nose up if they think THEY are too good for. There’s a word for that. But if you discriminate against anyone just advertise that from now on? This way we know what to avoid and where to spend our money? This place went downhill in the last two years and it’s just going south. Low quality food, restaurants changed a lot too. Front desk receptionists rude and bad teeth, yet she sneers and tries to talk down to us. Who the hell hires an absolute troll to exist as a receptionist? It was such a dehumanizing experience to go to this place the level of closeted racism and snide behaviors just ruined our trip. It was horrific.
