"Flame Tree is located just outside Dinoland USA, and it’s one of the most reliably good quick-service restaurants across all the parks. We usually go for the smoky pulled pork sandwich or the St. Louis-style ribs. It’s also worth noting that they serve boozy drinks, like a hard cider and fireball concoction topped with gummy worms and a flamingo-pink vodka lemonade. " - carina finn koeppicus, anne cruz

One of my son's favorite places to eat in all of Disney World. Food was delicious! We ordered Ribs & Chicken combo with cole slaw and beans, Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork, and a flamingo cupcake. Fun live music nearby ads to the atmosphere! Service was helpful.

Alright this is the spot! I’m realizing that Disney does ribs really well…. Get the ribs! The loaded Mac was fantastic & so were the loaded pulled pork fries, but I’d skip the loaded chipotle/popcorn fries.

Came here one day while we were hosting from friends from out of town. We brought their little girl all around Animal Kingdom so she could be excited at all the cute and cool animals there. We had a great time. And when it was time for lunch, we weighed our options and decided to come to good ol' Flame Tree. Standard ambiance. It's a counter service restaurant with many many chairs and tables. There are so many, I'm sure you'll never not be able to find a seat. And the service at that counter is fine. Some super friendly, some mildly grumpy people. Typical Disney mixture. As for the food itself, I got the St. Louis Rib Dinner (St. Louis Ribs served with Beans and Coleslaw). I upgraded my side from beans to rice and beans. Ribs were good. Not too tough, and there was plenty of BBQ sauce for some helpful slathering anyway. Rice and beans were good. More flavorful than I was expecting. Target audience, I reckon. And the slaw was sad and pathetic. If you like slaw, skip this slaw so you're not insulted. I also got to try the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork (Baked Macaroni & Cheese topped with Smoked Pulled Pork, Crispy Onions, and Coleslaw). Really a sad amount of food, but what was there was nice. Cheesy mac, moist pork in every bite, and those onions added a wonderful texture. Really nice, but don't order this if you are actually hungry. Overall, Disney counter service is all mediocre, we all know that. But this place was actually pretty delicious, and if you order the right thing, it's surprisingly filling. One of the better ones I've been to. I will probably be back.

Google
Our food choice in Animal Kingdom in January 2025, and the food was quite good for a theme park.Service was quick and staff were friendly, everything looked nice&clean. We found the price is reasonable in terms of taste and portion. Would definitely recommend it to friends. We had : Ribs, Chicken and Pulled Pork Sampler (with Beans & Coleslaw) Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork Coffee

Google
Wasn’t bad… but the pulled pork was super dry, and no amount of barbecue sauce was going to help. The Mac & cheese is pretty good though. Why do they have to put peppers in cornbread!?! Nice outdoor seating… If you can find a place to sit. Might return in the future and try something different.

Google
Flame Tree Barbecue is one of the biggest eateries in Animal Kingdom, with a widespread array of sheltered eating areas. These look out onto either the lake, over to Asia, back to Discovery Island or some lovely secluded spots too. The menu as the name suggests is a fare of barbecue delights as well as some tasty drinks and limited time snacks. Some great entrées and excellent value sides that are both shareable. Try the French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese or maybe the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler whilst taking in the excellent entertainment just over the walkway. It's an upbeat, fun and delicious place to eat

Absolutely wonderful food and covered space overlooking the lake. Best pulled pork mac n cheese.

Food is way over priced but this is always assume when at Disney. The coke I order was six dollars. For that I got a cup full of ice and they refused to refill it. My wife ordered a salad and she ate only a few bites because half of it was bad. The barbecue sandwiches were okay and bake beans were missing the mark having an over powering relish flavored. If you do not like birds do NOT go here. They are everywhere. Unfortunately one of my children is terrified of large birds and could not relax and eat his lunch. Like many of my Disney experiences I felt I paid too much for poor quality food in a very crowded atmosphere. Hard pass on this place.

Yelp
Scrumptious bbq! They had my favorite Mac and cheese topped with bbq pulled pork; it was incredibly delicious!! I could eat a million of these, I wish they had a restaurant in NY! The staff was ultra nice and the seating was fantastic outdoors! The themed drinks made my day with a light up ice cube!! Thanks for being amazing!

Kristy K.

Yelp
Flame Tree never disappoints. The fries are delicious, the pulled pork is so flavorful and the half smoked chicken is my husband's favorite. We always leave full and there's plenty of seating for a nice mid-day break!

Yelp
First time at Animal Kingdom and we tried Flame Tree Barbecue for lunch. We both had the pulled pork sandwich. I was expecting some barbecue sauce, but there wasn't. The coleslaw was added to the sandwich. Overall, it's okay.

SR C.

Yelp
Great meal. I had pulled pork - excellent; ribs, - very good but very messy ; and chicken, barely edible -dry and stringy breast meat. Adequate sides (mandarin oranges were good but baked beans were not). Not too expensive, overall my best meal in my summer 2024 trip to Walt Disney World. This is counter service and they got the orders right, so that's good. The ambience pf the outdoor dining was quite nice.

Sean B.

Yelp
Honestly this place is not the worst and not the best. I had the ribs and they were overcooked. My dining partner had the vegan bbq and it was good. Fries were a bit less done than desired, and the dessert was not so great, lots of fake cream and sugar. The cake part of the cupcake was very good however. Service was excellent and the food came out quickly so that's a bonus.

William C.

Yelp
One of our go to places failed us on this trip. The chicken salad was swimming in barbecue sauce which wilted the lettuce at the bottom. However, Shout out to Manager Luis for quickly making things right. Offered to make a new salad fresh with chicken on the side. We agreed on switching to the Pulled Pork Sandwich with a side of slaw & fries. I was a happy customer with a full belly. I love the location of this quick fix restaurant. It's conveniently located at the main intersection near the Tree if Life and often has live entertainment on a stage across the entrance.

Yelp
Wow! The food at Flame Tree Barbecue is delicious, especially being a quick service restaurant! Frame Tree Barbecue is located next to the Tree of Life. You can do a mobile order through the Disney World application. My family had ordered the following Kids Meal: Chicken leg with Graham Crackers Mac N Cheese: Pulled Pork Rib meal with Coleslaw There was so much seating available. There was covered table seating, and tables that overlooked the lake. We ended up sitting at a table next to the restaurant. When my partner had brought over our meal, unfortunately, one of the animals at Animal Kingdom swooped down and ate some of the mac n cheese pulled pork! Luckily for us, one of the cast members saw this and put in a new order for us. Unfortunately, we had to throw the food out as the cast member said we couldn't eat it. The wait wasn't too long, approximately 10 minutes and one of the Disney World team members brought our order out to the table. The Mac N Cheese pulled pork was scrumptious. The BBQ was sweet, but the flavor mixed well with the pulled pork. It was so filling, I couldn't eat it all! My partner enjoyed the ribs. My daughter ate all of the chicken leg! This restaurant is slightly on the more expensive options in Animal Kingdom, but it's totally worth it. The food quality is outstanding and you're provided a lot of food! I'd highly recommend Flame Tree Barbecue.

Kathy K.

Yelp
This counter service barbecue restaurant located in Animal Kingdom, offered a nice vegan or vegetarian option. I had the Impossible Burnt Ends platter with French fries and coleslaw $12.29. A good price for a theme park and pretty tasty. We sat at a covered outdoor pavilion

Yelp
Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney's Animal Kingdom is a carnivore's paradise nestled in the heart of the park's lush landscape. From the moment you catch a whiff of the smoky aroma wafting through the air, you know you're in for a treat. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering barbecue classics, from tender smoked ribs and juicy pulled pork sandwiches to flavorful rotisserie chicken. The portions are generous, ensuring you'll leave satisfied after indulging in these savory delights. The outdoor seating area offers picturesque views of Discovery River and Expedition Everest, making it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal amidst the beauty of nature. Whether you're fueling up for more adventures or simply craving some good old-fashioned barbecue, Flame Tree Barbecue is a must-visit dining destination at Animal Kingdom.

Paul N.

Yelp
This was my second time here and first time back since 2009. The ribs are as good as I remembered. It's great when you have theme park bbq with actual smoked ribs and not boiled or baked ribs. Only knock on this meal was the Coleslaw. This plus is a must lunch spot if you are at Animal Kingdom.

Patrick S.

Yelp
Yes, Flame Tree Barbecue is quite expensive, but the food and the seating area really made it a worthwhile visit when eating at Animal Kingdom. As the Animal Kingdom gets closer to close, not as many of the restaurants or food spots stay open making the choices slim. My first choice for food was Eight Spoon Cafe for their Pulled Pork Jelly Doughnut Sandwich, but by the time we were hungry for dinner, it had sadly closed. The only place left open that had anything close was Flame Tree Barbecue. My friend and I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the St. Louis Ribs plate. The pulled pork sandwich (4/5) was solid with flavorful juicy pieces of pulled pork with tangy coleslaw in between soft buns. If there could have been a bit more coleslaw to help balance it all out, I would have been super happy with this. The St. Louis Ribs (3.5/5) was another solid plate with several well cooked and seasoned ribs but nothing amazing. What I really enjoyed was the seating area. Although I have read some blogs say that it can get busy, when I got there around dinner time, it was pretty much free seating for their outdoor patio that overlooks the Discovery River. We were even able to score seats with that awesome view of Expedition Everest around sunset! As most other popular fast casual dining options at Disney World, I would highly encourage to plan ahead and use the Disney mobile app to order. Remember to go back into the app and say that you have arrived so that they can have the food ready by the time you are there! Overall, Flame Tree Barbecue is a great option for solid food with a view that is worth enjoying around dinner time!

Yelp
So after eating all day I figured it was a good idea to go have a salad!! The kids had some pulled pork sandwich through out the day!! My salad was AMAZING!! Pork was good too- but my salad was so much better! - still not as good as the tacos around the corner, but I totally would get it again!

Joann V.

Yelp
4.5 stars Mom and I shared the combo rib and chicken with baked beans and coleslaw. We both enjoyed it very much and would definitely recommend it. The plate only comes with 2 ribs and a very lean chicken thigh leg. The bbq sauce was very much to my liking - wasn't too sweet or salty, just right with a bit of a kick. Baked beans were surprisingly my favorite! As far as theme-park food goes, this is the best I've had. Sure, the ribs aren't fall off the bone tender or the portions big, but it's a decent meal. The prices for Disney parks will always be $$ to $$$, so it might as well be pleasant. Seating is difficult to find and, when it's a bit rainy, the ground makes for an uncomfortable experience, especially since the flooring is uneven and textured throughout Animal Kingdom (which means water pools in certain areas). But once you do find seating, the atmosphere here is quite nice. As someone who is new to using the Disney app's mobile ordering system, I struggled with understanding the pickup procedure and am grateful there were cast members around to explain how and where I should wait. I'm certain I committed some Disney faux pas somewhere...

Stephen M.

Yelp
I was a bit on the fence about this one. Service was slow and they were having computer issues. They were moving people around because the register we were at was down and several people that came in after us ended up checking out first because they didn't move us first. That added an extra 10 minutes or more just to the ordering process. We also ended up waiting a long time for our food and by the time it came other people that had been in our party had already finished eating. Really the stars I'm giving are more for the taste of the food. Everything was hot and it tasted really good. I enjoyed a barbecue pork sandwich with some fries and coleslaw. The seating was outdoors and very difficult to get at with a wheelchair but we made it work. If you don't mind the wait or the cost the food is definitely worth stopping for.

Alexandria B.

Yelp
In the 90s, the very first time I came to Disney World.... My family and I sat down after a long day to grab food at Animal Kingdom (the best Disney park) and my life was changed. Flame Tree Barbecue has been a staple in my Disney itenerary for over 2 decades. And for 2 decades they have never once wavered. The chicken and rib combo os my favorite meal at the Disney Parks and I feel like enough people don't give this restaurant their props. Love Flame Tree Barbecue and I can't wait to visit again!

Rose O.

Yelp
Don't have a reservation... not needed for this place. It has amazing food for those who did not plan ahead. Very soft buns and tasty barbecue pulled pork sandwiches. I definitely recommend.

Brett J.

Yelp
Now this is bbq!!! Found in Disney's animal kingdom this is a spot you must eat at! Unfortunately they serve their bbq sandwich with coleslaw on it. I DONT Like coleslaw at all. However once I stripped my bbq if the awful offending stuff it was still top notch. The meat, the sauce, the flavors were soooo much better then the high end bbq experience we tried before. I highly recommend this place if you have a hankering for bbq. Be sure to order a head of time... there will be a wait. And the seating is all outside but I can not stress enough that this is the bbq that you are dreaming of!! Even the fries are exceptional. I was completely impressed... well worth the cost and just flat out good food.

Jenny T.

Yelp
We ordered from multiple spots in animal kingdom. This was our kids spot. It was alright. Hot dog 5/5 Hot dog is a hot dog. Can't go wrong with it. Pulled pork 4/5 It was a bit on the dry side. Flavor was light. Was just alright. Chicken leg 4/5 Was okay as well. Not very memorable. Slushie 5/5 Best thing I got there. Flavor was a good mix. Good for the hot day with the cute cube.

Lee O.

Yelp
Awesome food for a quick bite @ a amusement park...but then again it's Animal Kingdom in Disney in FLORIDA!!!

Beth K.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch before leaving Animal Kingdom. I've been several times before, I always enjoy it, but I seem to forget just how good it is. We also have very high standards when it comes to barbecue, and Flame Tree is definitely a favorite. We split the sampler platter, which included pork, chicken, and ribs, and added a side of onion rings. All of the meats were fantastic! They were so good I didn't even think to open the sauce. I enjoyed the onion rings a lot too. The portion sizes were also quite generous and we were both full after our lunch. I don't think I could have finished that sampler by myself. It is a little pricey, but it's Disney World, so what do you expect? That said, compared to a lot of Disney options, the prices here are reasonable for the amount you get and the quality of the food. All of the cast members working in the area were delightful and helpful. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick bite in Animal Kingdom!

Renelle W.

Yelp
If hunger catches you at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, Flame Tree Barbecue is a great option for relatively fast, reasonable and tasty food. One nuance is that you have to order from the Disney application; no ifs, ands or buts. Meals (both adult and kids) are good portion sizes. You can spend less than $16 per meal...which in the world of Disney is a steal. The meat wasn't dry and everything was tasty. It is semi outdoor seating, thank goodness, because it was raining. If you like birds roaming around while you eat, this is the spot for you. Cute little ducks and other species of birds would be walking around the tables. FYI: don't feed them!

Ashlry H.

Yelp
We visited Animal Kingdom for a day and had many things to do! In order to get more things done, we needed a good grab-and-go lunch. It wasn't exactly grab-and-go, but it didn't take much time at all! We placed a mobile order, so I'm not sure how long just going up and ordering takes. (Knowing Disney, probably too long) Once we got our food, we went a little behind the restaurant and found a perfect lakeside view! It was beautiful and only a few other people were there. As for the food, It definitely hit the spot! We got macaroni and cheese, pulled pork, and onions to share. We had two kid meals, which both of our kids appreciated, and we also got slushies. The slushies were OK, but straws were not provided and they were out of spoons, so we enjoyed our refreshing slush with a fork. Oh, and also take note of this: If you have an older child, don't get them something from the kids menu. It is a considerably small portion and would be great for a little kid! But the 12 year old of our group was a little hungry throughout the rest of the day and we ended up having to spend more money to get them a snack. Overall, delicious food! (Especially the cornbread! DO NOT SKIP THE CORNBREAD) Come here for a fast and delicious lunch.

Kelli B.

Yelp
The food is always good here, but it does come in high quantity. You get your money's worth for sure! I had the baked Mac&Cheese with pulled pork & the rotten apple drink. They both were delicious. I also enjoyed the entertainment of the birds hoping on my table to steal the food. I did mobile order for pick up. The app is very user friendly and I only waited about 3 minutes from completing order to it being ready. Then, I grabbed a bag from the store next door&took leftovers home to eat! There isn't a good here I wouldn't eat

Sean P.

Yelp
This dish came with macaroni and cheese as the bottom with slaw, pulled pork, two big onion rings and some bbq sauce on top. I don't recall what the drink was called, but was bummed when the pineapple came out as candied pineapple and not fresh slices. For the meal, the flavor was pretty good for a theme park food stand, but for the price (I know, Disney), you'd think the portion - especially meat - could've been much more. Overall, I would've likely gotten a different meal if I had to do it again and hopefully enjoy it like the rave reviews of others.

Mommy Manda A.

Yelp
Tried this place at Disney world. The food was good. I love that the chicken is real and on the bone!

Tom P.

Yelp
Standard theme park fare but slightly different because they have a few more things than the other vendors. Chicken was a bit dry and they didn't have any chicken fingers or nuggets. But one thing I was very impressed by was that I had two trays to carry over to dinosaur land and just one of me. Well a nice and gracious young lady decided to help out walking the entire way and got it over to a picnic table. Not bad service at all.

Timothy N.

Yelp
Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom serves up some delicious BBQ fare. The ribs and pulled pork are a highlight, and the riverside seating is a nice touch. It's getting 4 stars from me because, while the food is great, I wish there were more side options to choose from.

Taylor M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my food here. I got the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. Being from south Alabama, I was very impressed. It was delicious. The workers were also so friendly! The only "negative" is the seating is further away but not a huge issue!

Martin M.

Yelp
If you're in the Animal Kingdom, this is definitely the best place to get a quick stop meal. Portions are huge for the price point, which is usually a rare find in theme parks. For just $17, I got a rib and chicken meal which was way too much for just 1 person to devour. The BBQ was also pretty on-point and the sauce was good, both chicken and rib were cooked well.

Meg T.

Yelp
Our entire experience after ordering wasn't good at Flame Tree Barbecue. To start, we ordered easily through Mobile Order. No problems. But then we went to pick up our meal, which was essentially sitting right in front of customers at the end of the line, and two people without masks on are asking questions, right over our food. Lovely. Seating was ample, but it was raining, and the birds were getting aggressive. One attacked someone behind us for her food and she literally had to fight them off. The food wasn't even worth being attacked for, the pulled pork was flavorless and the hot dog wasn't anything to write home about. I mean really birds, you weren't missing anything, I promise you. All in all, should we visit Animal Kingdom again, we won't be eating at Flame Tree Barbecue.

Beth E.

Yelp
We usually find that eating at any of the walk up places in the Disney parks, doesn't get you good food. This time, we were pleasantly surprised with this choice. First, because of COVID, you must order food through their app. It was super easy to use and to pay, and then you wait for them to send you a message and you go pick up your food. It was especially nice that they weren't allowing parties to sit before they got their food. When our food was ready, we easily found a seat, which is usually difficult. The menu is limited, but all seemed like good BBQ choices. I had the Mac and cheese with pulled pork, topped with coleslaw and onion rings. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly good and the pork was tender. I only wished their had been more bbq sauce.

Cory L.

Yelp
It's 2022 and I know my taste buds have changed but... The good: Great seating areas. The one by the waterfront pavilion was amazing because we got to catch one of the kite flying shows. (There are also maybe 3 high table tops that could fit a smaller family of 2-4 people that also had awesome views.) I'd say the view of the kites were probably better than the views from the audience, but you can't hear the announcements or see the mini parade of course. Still, we hadn't been planning on watching it and we got to eat food, so it was a win. The bad: Did we decide to increase the sweet level and decrease the heat/spice? Even the coleslaw was sweet and almost inedible. The ribs themselves were tasty but pretty fatty and simply lacked a yum factor other than it was filling. But my preschooler was willing to eat some of it. She was honestly more into the fries.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Highly recommend this spot if you are at Animal Kingdom. They have mobile order which is super helpful. BBQ pork Mac n cheese is amazing. Coleslaw on top. Did need a little more sauce and the portion was a bit small, but overall extremely well done. Think this is one of the better spots in the park

Hayley L.

Yelp
This was probably my favorite place we ate at the entire trip! Food was delicious. I got the barbecue chicken salad and it was amazing. These giant birds are all around and definitely scared my siblings when they jumped onto the table behind us hahahaha.

Steven W.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed what I ordered for lunch which was bbq ribs and chicken with corn and beans. Did mobile order and portions were surprisingly large. The outdoor seating had shade and you are met with squirrels and ducks. Food was surprisingly good for theme park.

Andy J.

Yelp
While many consider the Satu'li Canteen in Pandora their favorite, Flame Tree BBQ remains my favorite counter service restaurant in Animal Kingdom. Entrees include the Ribs, Chicken and Pulled Pork Sampler, the Ribs and Chicken Combo and my favorite the 1/2 Chicken platter. All come with their signature baked beans and coleslaw. Side for purchase include french fries and onion rings. Kids meals include a baked chicken drumstick, turkey sandwich and an all-beef hotdog. Allergy friendly alternatives are also available. While the food is very good, I think it is the amazing outdoor seating area that makes this such an incredible place to eat. When the park was under construction this location was going to be an amphitheater. That all changed when they decided to make a theater inside the base of the Tree of Life instead. The tiered landscaping was already in place, so Disney simply integrated this into the covered pavilion seating area. It is an amazingly picturesque location in the park with a reflecting pond and lake-view seating. When the park first opens the space is empty of people and it is a wonderful place to take photos.

Dwayne A.

Yelp
There's no wonder this place usually has a good crowd. The food is always flavorful and great when you want to get away from the some old fried food. Being able to mobile order really makes things easy when planning your day. The BBQ chicken salad was amazing and the seasonal desserts are always a nice treat. This is a go-to restaurant.

Stacy F.

Yelp
A solid quick serve restaurant in the Animal Kingdom area. They have mobile ordering, or you can do standard in line queue. I recommend the chicken platter (#6) - very yummy and a lot of food. I shared with my toddler and she liked the chicken. There is a ton of seating! I love all the variety of seating areas, and there are some great views throughout. It's definitely easier to find a seat here than the majority of other quick serve places in the parks in general. I personally like the ones by the fountain area, but there are some great lake water views also. There is plenty of tree coverage, but many of the areas are also under pavilions with shade. Overall: A A good quick serve location with yummy food and great seating.

Minnie L.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch today with my BF today. He had the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork lunch which he really enjoyed. i had the kids' menu is tem called the Pulled Pork Platter.. We both agreed the meat was very good and so was the bbq sauce. I had a tangerine and a small snack size bag of cinnamon flavored graham crackers which seemed to have gotten stale even though they expire in February 2023. Overall. it was a good lunch and we even got to see a nice water show too.

Chachi B.

Yelp
Excellent care and service. They gladly provide a Menu for food ALLERGIES** My preferred lunch or dinner times are always the Pre or Post Rush Hour. If you are on the typical schedule for meals? Patience will save your happy Disney mood. The Regular Menu is located within plain view. Since, their is no table service. The pay/order stations are located in front of the pick up counters. ""It's OK to politely walk up to a register and ask the cashiers for a menu"" We ordered a Sampler Platter. Consisted of 3 BBQ Ribs, Chicken Thigh, one Chicken Leg and a generous portion of Pulled Pork. Two sides, coleslaw and baked beans. Everything was tasty cooked and served proper temperature. The baked beans were Ranchero large beans:-P delicious. On my next visit I will return for the Pulled Pork and the Baked Beans. I definitely NOT RECOMEND THE GFree Cookies. They were ROCK HARD!! I recomend have dessert elsewhere:-)

Gaylon G.

Yelp
At this point in time, COVID has completely transformed the landscape of amusement parks, and Disney is no exception. Whereas this used to be a walk-up type of restaurant where you order at the register, it is now one of many restaurants that you have to do mobile ordering for. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, it means that you have to have the My Disney Experience app on your phone and pre-order the food before you arrive. It will give you a time window during which you pick it up. Even more, you have to tell the restaurant when you are there to get it so that they can start preparing it. The short version of this is that in highly busy times, like Spring Break or holidays, there is a wait coming. On this particular visit, we did the pre-order, then told them when we arrived to get it that we were there. Then ensued the 30-45 minute wait. The next best part was then wandering around looking for a place to sit. Some of the seating was blocked by employees making sure that only dining customers took the seats. Some was open for all. I'll talk about the food in a minute, but for now, my advice about the mobile ordering is that you pre-order well in advance and tell them you're there for the food at least 20-30 minutes before you actually intend to get it. You run the risk of the food sitting there and getting cold, but I guess I'd prefer that to myself standing there and getting hot. Now, was the food worth it? Somewhat. This is one of the better options that's open right now. The food is not epic, but not amazing, and combined with the other things already mentioned, the glow dimmed a bit. We had the Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Pulled Pork. Sounds like BBQ food, right? It was. That's exactly what it was. It filled the hole and satisfied. Again, not immensely exciting but good and reliable. Assuming the current options at the Animal Kingdom don't change much in the future, this would be on my list of repeatable experiences.

Ezmi A.

Yelp
My husband got the combo, I got the kids chicken drum stick mainly because I was going to eat my husband chicken breast any ways. Over all the BEST comfort food we receive out of the 4 parks we have been to. For the most part when you go to Disney your paying for the experience not the food... but this one was definitely a great one!

Tanya A.

Yelp
For a theme park bbq restaurant I would give it a 3/5. I preordered our food and it still took over an hour to make. I ordered 2 hot dogs, onion rings and pulled pork. My kids were hungry and gobbled down the hot dogs right away- and fully enjoyed the cookies. The onion rings were typically. The pulled pork was super dry... and that's where the sauce came into okay. Sauce always makes everything better. Seating is also extremely frustrating. They have limited spots with fans that are first come first serve and there are plenty of people just "hanging out" to stay out of the sun. It was extremely difficult for us to find a spot for the four of us basically making circles for 15mins to secure a table. I wish they setup a better system for this. In the future, I might go for a Turkey leg and a Mickey pretzel when at the parks.

Yelp
So good for a grab and go place plus they had a great covered seating area which we timed perfectly since a downpour came while we were eating!

Yelp
Pre-COVID review Prior to visiting Disney earlier this year, I compiled a list of foods at each park that I wanted to try that I'd seen on social media, YouTube, or recommendations from Disney Facebook groups. I could never just do the sandwiches in your backpack thing at Disney, since there's so much good food to be had! Anyway, I had the pulled pork cheese fries on my list so I opened up the mobile ordering on the Disney app and got down to business. There were two lines: one line for people whose orders weren't ready yet, and a line for those who had been notified their order was ready. Well, at least, that's how it was supposed to work. There was a cast member there directing people for awhile, but then she disappeared and people just lined right up even though they hadn't received notification that their order was ready. The food took much longer than any other mobile ordering experience I had during our visit, and it wasn't that busy. We finally got our fries and went to find a seat in the seating area nearby. The pulled pork was flavorful and juicy, but the cheese sauce was just your typical nacho cheese sauce you get at any high school sporting event. And the fries were just okay - they weren't fresh and were a little stale. We got the spicy and regular barbecue sauces on the side; both were good! The spicy was not too spicy and both had good flavor without being sickly sweet like some BBQ sauce. Overall I enjoyed this snack okay but I honestly probably wouldn't get it again.

Yelp
Disney restaurants are always hit or miss for us. We absolutely loved Flame Tree Barbecue located in Animal Kingdom. It was actually really good bbq for quick service in a park. They offer good size portions and tasty food. Located directly across from Hakuna Matata Dance party which offers fun live music. You might also see Kevin From UP walking by since this is his favorite spot. We both got the bbq pulled pork sandwhich with a side of fries. This restaurant is very accommodating for people with allergies. We love this about Disney. My allergy friendly boyfriend got his without their coleslaw topping, a gluten free bun and gluten free fries. They even offered him beans since he cannot have the coleslaw. I got it just the way it comes and we both loved our food. They have plenty of seating surrounding the restaurant. Kinda annoying how the pollin was falling on our food but we can only blame Mother Nature for this. Besides the pesky pollin our only downfall of our lunch was the wait for the food. This however is to be expected when preparing a gluten free dish. Now we have a yummy stop in Animal Kingdom.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Flame Tree Barbecue, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. The quick service restaurant in Animal Kingdom has a decent menu and fair prices. It was raining the day we went to the Animal Kingdom, so we got extremely lucky in finding a seat almost immediately, and even more lucky in finding a seat with an incredible view of Expedition Everest. The view is, in my opinion, Flame Tree Barbecue's only saving grace. We ordered the barbecue sampler and the salad, hoping to infuse some greens into an otherwise generally unhealthy meal. The salad was pretty refreshing with its light, zesty dressing and corn-bread croutons. The sampler was, to be delicate, awful. The sampler comes with a large piece of chicken, a few ribs, some pulled pork, and a side of beans. The beans looked solidified and we didn't touch them. The chicken was greasy and not done in any conceivable BBQ style. The ribs were undercooked, and the pork was somehow too dry and too fatty. Our total meal was 30 dollars, not bad at all for the quantity of food received, but an absolute waste on the quality. We absolutely love Animal Kingdom Park, but we're dropping the F in Flame Tree because the restaurant was just plain Lame Tree.

Yelp
My husband and stopped here for afternoon lunch while at Animal Kingdom. It is located in the Africa area of the park. The BBQ chicken was fall off the bone delicious. It had a very smoky flavor which I loved. My husband got the pork sandwich and he was just as pleased with his food. I ordered the mandarin orange vodka lemonade which was tasty, but not worth the price as very little vodka taste to it. The seating here definitely contributes to the 5 stars as there is an abundance of outside seating in a nice tropical like setting. We were lucky enough to sit in the back on upper level and had perfect view of the parrots flight around the Tree of Life. It was amazing to see and the birds in flight so colorful. I believe they do this every hour on the quarter hour, but you can check to see if different. It was a real treat to see this while eating some great BBQ
