This place is hit or miss. We went around 830 last night, spent over $60 for food that mostly ended up in the trash, it was beyond disappointing. First off for the goat and oxtail you can only get a medium or large which is fine but to pay all that money for food that is rotten and has been sitting out alllll day is absolutely ridiculous. We got a beef patty with cheese and coco bread, the bread and cheese were ok, the beef patty must have been sitting in that hot box under that light all day, because when I tried to bite it it was hard like a rock on the edge, i ended up tossing it in the trash. Same with the medium goat with rice and peas and cabbage. The cabbage was so soggy and stink, the goat was sour and rotten, the rice and peas were somewhat edible. We also got two orders of stew chicken with rice and peas which seemed to be ok. I wasn’t able to get photos of all of the food but here is the beef patty. I think if you just expect that whatever you get has most likely been out since they opened earlier in the day you, you can gage whether it’s worth it or not. And I’d highly recommend going in person and really inspecting it before you purchase, and if it doesn’t look right or your gut tells you to pass…. Ruunnnnn out the door and go somewhere else.

Imagine being punished for not wanting to eat meat. Today I came in to get rice and vegetables and was told I could not despite the menu right there saying side order of rice. I just walked out, nobody got time for that. Good reminder that I can prepare my own food and ignorant people don’t deserve my $$ - last visit I’ll ever make

I just bought an oxtail plate, a sweet&spicy chicken plate along with a side of fried chicken and Mac. What a big disappointment! I actually want my money back, but I’ll just never return to this location. $60 for what???? NONE OF IT WAS GOOD!

I just paid nine dollars for a scoop of cabbage and one piece of chicken? This experience was very different than my first with the owner. What happened to the love? Where is the joy in sharing your food. This is supposed to be soul food. Caribbean soul food. I come spend my hard earned money and I expect better energy and some love when I get served. The last time I was here the ox tails wac and tough. This plate of stew beef is the same. It’s supposed to be tender but it’s tough. Dude in there today needs to learn how to not be so stingy. The food is already high price so give me what I deserve or what I’m paying for rather. Y’all must not want repeat business. I’ll stick with the other local restaurants.

I got the ox tails, we all know ox tails are expensive so I was well prepared to spend over 20 dollars. I was told they only make medium plates even though the option for a small plate was there, what I wasn’t prepared for was the premature baby ox tails I received. Ox tails already lack meat, so for them to be so small seems like a waist of time trying to eat it. The flavor was ok not bad but not great. Cabbage was just cabbage.

I’m sorry that others have given low ratings, I can say that I have been away for about 10 years. Since I have been back I have been very very satisfied with the food especially the curry goat ! It is seasoned very very well ! My 1st Curry goat meal was in 1975, that curry goat came from a Haiti restaurant on Blue Hill Ave many years ago . Since then I have been eating Curry goat. A person that grew up on Curry Goat and people that have been eating Curry Goat know the difference. Flames in Brockton you are the bomb! I have been coming all hours of the day and have yet to be disappointed’ They are also very very clean ESPECIALLY IN THR KITCHEN! Keep up the good work Flames your # 1 in my book. I have gone to many Jamaican restaurants in Brockton for the same dish. No comments!

The food is decent. However, the brown stew chicken was sooo dark it looks black, way too much browning. They load you up with rice, and give less meat & vegetables. Also, please when people come into the establishment be professional, it’s such a turn off to see employees disputing with other employees in front of customers. Bad attitude is not good. And no one wants that bad energy around their food.
