"The address most recently housed a short-lived outpost of fast-casual Byblos Mediterranean restaurant, which opened in the summer of 2018 after a five-month renovation of what was the Flaming Torch restaurant (destroyed by a fire)." - Clair Lorell

"Helen Freund dined at Vyoone’s — which Zohreh Khaleghi, previously of Flaming Torch, opened in January with Vyoone Segue Lewis — and gushes about the ambience, calling the French eatery both 'chic' and 'charming' in equal measure. Freund calls the Warehouse District restaurant — situated at 412 Girod Street — one of the neighborhood’s best-kept secrets, owing to its romantic atmosphere (think: cushy couches on the patio, hanging pendant lights.) The restaurant’s French-with-Creole-elements menu also impressed the critic. Particularly, a classic indulgent soup somehow made even more gluttonous. The Creole influences mean layering short ribs on a bed of grits, or serving crawfish beignets. The only complaint? The pricing — Freund didn’t appreciate the $46 price tag on a chicory-roasted rack of lamb. Overall, though, the critic was extremely impressed with the menu, saying it’s unlikely that this hidden gem will remain under the radar for long." - Alison Baitz

Went for Easter Brunch. Service was HORRIBLE. Water glasses empty, no bread. Restaurant ran out of shrimp at 1pm? Entrees took over 2 hrs (we are talking poached eggs and fish too). AND it was NOT busy, restaurant maybe 2/3rds full, maybe. Multiple parties walked out without having been served. We were getting up to leave when the food arrived. Food was mediocre at best...not at all worth their most recent price increase either. Very unhappy. Will NEVER return.

I'm a tourist at New Orleans. We discovered this small restaurant while walking this afternoon. The experience was excellent: the onion soup, the salad, and the nice attention, even though we arrived out of schedule (3:15 pm). I recommend it for sure, slightly pricely, just as everything else at New Orleans.

this is an adorable little french restaurant in a former home on octavia. there were only two other tables the night we were there, and our server jon took impeccable care of all of us. the wine was great. the onion soup was perfect, just what i had been craving. i loved it from the moment i walked in to the moment i left. the coq au vin was not that great, but my date loved his steak au poivre. raspberry sorbet was perfect.
