Google
Awesome spot for tasty and affordable sandwiches and salads! We tried the thyme chicken sandwich, turkey chile verde, and prickly pear chicken salad all were solid. Service was quick, and the bread was super good.

Google
Service was amazing. The sandwiches and pizza crust were definitely delicious! They make their bread from scratch daily and you can tell. They have many options of things to eat for everybody. From all the burgers you can choose from to all the breakfast items to normal entrées even to Pizza. They have specials every day and kids eat free on Sundays so you can’t go wrong.

We've been coming here for 20 years and highly recommend it. The food is always fresh and delicious We have so many favorites it's hard to decide. Anything you choose will be awesome. Great cold and hot sandwiches with awesome side choices. Their pizza choices are great. And they always have a delicious desert choice. Hope go and enjoy.

I love this place! The prickly pear chicken Caesar salad is my go to. It’s a low key chill vibe right off the crazy of downtown Gilbert. Definitely check it out.

Google
We have been dining at Flancer’s for many, many years. You can always count on excellent service and creative and delicious menu options! They bake their bread on site so all the sandwiches are amazing!

Tim Askelson

Google
Great sandwich combinations and the daily fresh-baked bread is the star of the sandwich.

The defining factor of Flancer’s is their dedication to a positive guest experience. The atmosphere is fine it is not fancy or anything. They have a large menu and chef has been there for 20 years (they have been open 21 years). Overall the food is good. Nothing struck me a TERRIFIC out of this world but everything is a solid 8/10. Been there twice. Had green chili stew the first time and a burger the second. My partners had French onion soup and pizza. All very good! They have good promos! Check out the photos for details on that type of offering.

I LOVE FLANCERS! The food is always good! I have never had a bad thing in the menu!

Yelp
After hearing several great things about this place, we decided to give it a try today. We walked in around 10:15 AM and were warmly greeted by a gentleman who let us know they technically didn't open until 10:30--but invited us to sit down and cool off from the heat while the kitchen was still getting prepped. He took our drink order right away and gave us a great rundown of the menu. We ended up ordering the French dip sandwich with fries and the Philly cheesesteak with coleslaw--both were exceptional. Brian was fantastic the entire time! He recommended we come back on a Sunday to try the churros or peach cobbler, which we're definitely planning to do. I'm also eyeing the wings and pizza for our next visit. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
(Incredible) Sandwich Fact: In the 1900s, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were considered a delicacy and only eaten by the wealthy. By the '20s, the price went down and they became more popular. Cup of the Soup of the Day, $5.50: Friday was the clam chowder. If you know me, you know I can't resist a cup of clam chowder. Their version is a bit darker in color but loaded in flavor. I recommend it. Lunch special: Pepperoni slice with five wings, $8.59: I'll be the first to admit that their pizza ain't the cutest. It was sitting in a pool of its own grease like a sunblock slathered grandpa in a hotel pool but it got its job done. The wings were pretty amazing though and made the lunch special worth it. Steak it to the Limit (Philly Cheesesteak), $17.75: Get it "wit" onions! I'm not usually a fan of peppers on my philly cheesesteaks but I respect it. It's a solid cheesesteak although the bread they used ain't it. I like a crunchier hoagie to hold all the goodness. As for the mac & cheese side, it was pretty bland. Spiked Prickly Pear Lemonade, $8.50: Ack! Where's the vibrant pink!? This is the kind of drink you won't get sloppy over before returning to work but save yourself a few bucks and just get the regular prickly pear lemonade. 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up. It's a solid spot for some lunch so support this local business!

Yelp
Yet another sad experience with Flancer's, involving a lack of training on how to find and confirm online orders, resulting in another order delivered past the pickup time...and we arrived late. We made sure to call an hour before this time to confirm that they had the order, which they did, and the restaurant of course wasn't busy at all again, so I'm not sure what happened this time. The food was fine, but, between the extremely heavy front door (?), the lackluster service and unfriendly employees, it just makes for a very depressing experience that never used to exist for all the decades I'd been dining here (along with the many guests I'd brought here). The Mesa location finally closed recently, so I'm pretty sure this location will follow suit and that'll be the end of an era on what was once such a cool, hip place.

Yelp
Met a friend for lunch and didn't know what to expect as I've never even heard of this place. My friend said she has been coming here since they opened in 2000 and always gets the same thing- 1/2 Philly cheese steak sandwich with a salad, and their chocolate chip cookie. I decided to get a full Philly cheese steak sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries $16.25. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the sandwich was! The flavor and seasoning was spot on, there was good amount of meat, and the bread was soft and fluffy. The sweet potatoes were very good too. The service was not the friendliest and they got my check wrong two times which was a bit annoying. They also charge 2.5% for credit card transactions which is a pet peeve of mine but the food was good so I'd probably go back.

Yelp
Great, affordable sandwich and salad options! We had the thyme chicken sandwich, turkey chile verde, and prickly pear chicken salad. Quick, good service and great bread.

Yelp
This was the first time eating at this establishment and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious. We got it to go. We chose a good sandwich. I had the turkey club with avocado with the green chili aïoli and it was so good and they had cream of potato for their soup of the day, which was absolutely delicious. The bread was so soft on my sandwich. I was so impressed so needless to say I will be going here again as for the service the gentleman that took my order on the phone said give him 12 minutes so we did and then we got there and had to wait for another 15. They were really busy sowe couldn't we Understood.

Yelp
I freakon love this place. My friend has lived next to it forever and every time we drive by I say FLANCERS! so I finally took her and we shared a sandwich. It was so good. Doesn't matter which sandwich u order bc it's all about the bread!!!!!!! Service was good!

Yelp
My friend and I went to the Mesa location and found out they are closing that location today. This was my first time at Flancer's and it was soooo good. I had a filet mignon sandwich and it was perfect. They didn't skimp on the meat. I had a bite of my friend's appetizer and it was fantastic as well. Really good quality food. I will definitely be visiting the Gilbert location when I am in the east valley. I wish they had more locations bc I would definitely be here at the time!

Yelp
Absolute best sandwich in the area, the fires are always perfect and the other home made sides are delicious. Service is always fantastic

Eric S.

Yelp
We love the food but we are so disappointed that they discontinued there daily specials. Wow what a difference in the traffic of the restaurant. Not a smart move we won't be coming back.

Timmoen S.

Yelp
Service is good, very friendly and refilled drinks as needed. Atmosphere ok if you like rock music playing while you eat. Fry's were not hot, calzone was edible, but very little cheese and small. I would not order it again. The sauce that came with the calzone was very peppery and paste like. Chicken sandwich was ok, but would not order again. Sandwich bread was not fresh, like it used to always be.

Yelp
Flancer's is always amazing food! Pizza is great but try anything with their green chili aioli on it.
google avatar

Maggie G.

Yelp
I did not get to try the food... I placed a large order through the website. It was 2pm asking if it could be delivered at 6pm. They called to verify the order and got to work. It was for a dear friend and her family dealing with a dying young brother. The entire family is gathering around him, but no one was thinking of food. So I got online and ordered. Everything made on time and delivered (through Grub Hub) a little early. I really appreciated Flancer's getting it completed and out on such short notice.

Yelp
Just a heads up on some promotions they have. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.‍‍

Yelp
Loved the play in words for the entire menu! It was fun getting to see how they would describe the sandwiches. I definitely appreciate that you can get a half sandwich as they are fairly large. We enjoyed looking at the various murals on the walls. The food was delicious and came out fast and hot. It's a fun place to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Our server Brian L. was a hoot! Very personable and made the wait for our drinks and food okay. Even though it wasn't busy it seemed like he was struggling to keep up BUT his personality made it all okay. The food was good - a tad pricey - but good. One of our three orders was delayed in coming out so our food lost its heat while we waited.
google avatar

Sherry K.

Yelp
This place is one of our OG places to have good a ol' BLT sandwich. It comes with green chile mayo on it. This place is soo delicious. I do see they get their regular customers which says a lot of a business. It's a small restaurant but packs a punch with their quality of food!

Yelp
My wife and I ordered for the first time last night and it was not good. The food was warm at best. The chicken was extremely dry. My wife had one bite and we tossed it. I ate one half and can only describe it as like heat treated eraser. Hate leaving reviews like this for a local company but for $15-$16 per sandwich? Must elevate your game FlancerFirst and last time.

Yelp
Flancers is a simple yet incredible restaurant. It is very different than most of the more commercial restaurants in downtown Gilbert. The menu and service are family friendly. They have a deep menu and they are able to deliver quality flavors across the board. From the smokey taste of their "Steak it to the Limit" cheesesteak to the delicious toasted goat cheese "Goat to Have It" salad, I find myself craving the unique flavors. Better yet, different chefs produce slightly different variations which ensure no two times are exactly the same. Overall, it is just a refreshing local shop that deserves credit for the variety, value and quality.

Wayne E.

Yelp
Wow! Worst experience ever. Never going back. Brought out appetizer missing ingredients then slapped down a plate of bread crumbs as goat cheese. Nope this place is history. Use to be good but that's place is long gone...
google avatar

Dale H.

Yelp
I almost always get one of their sandwiches because I love their homemade roll, but tonight I decided to try the Green chile, prickley pear chicken and dry roasted tomatoes pizza - and loved it. Green Chile added some extra flavor to the already delicious priclkey pear chicken. Great pizza. Everyone else also loved their sandwiches or salads but we were also pleasantly surprised that on Mondays seniors basically but one meal + drink, get a 2nd meal free. Great Deal for Great food.

Wendy L.

Yelp
Ordered on Door dash! What a disaster. I specifically said NO ONIONS... and they loaded it with onions. I am allergic to onions. Now I cannot eat the salad. What a waste of time and money.
google avatar

Garrett G.

Yelp
The soda tastes funny and the food was only okay. We did go on Thanksgiving Day so perhaps everyone's game was off?

Dawn J.

Yelp
WOW. Best thing about the sandwiches, they aren't that hard ciabatta shit..... and it's thin, so I get actual meat, cheese and extra goodies. The sides are great as well, jalapeño mac n cheese, roasted veggies and the sweet potato fries . Cool vibe with the music - not blaring so we could talk and a variety of genres. Server recommendation was the prickly pear - absolute hit!! Will be back -- didn't even get to try the pizza

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while waiting on a nearby doctor's appointment. Expecting a standard sandwich shop, we were pleasantly surprised to find great food and service. The place is on the small side with wooden tables and benches, but feels nice and cozy. The owner greets you with a smile and will happily go over the menu with you. The food is cooked quickly and is served hot. I had a sandwich that was made with house-made bread, and that was the difference between a normal sandwich and a great one! The fries were crispy and well seasoned without too much salt. My wife ordered a breakfast egg meal and loved the food. Bring an appetite and be prepared to be completely spoiled!!

Sam J.

Yelp
We love going to Flancer's for the great food and great service. Their homemade bread is the best!

Yelp
Boyfriend and I stopped in here on a Friday night. Our waiter (I think Brian) and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the Chile Verde Turkey and the bf got the cheesesteak. My side was the mac and cheese and his was the potatoes. We both felt our sandwiches were good and sides decent. I'd come back here again but unsure that I'll "crave" it. We did both feel like the portions were a bit small. The ambiance is throw back.

Yelp
I don't usually leave bad reviews (in fact, I don't have many reviews on here at all), but I felt this needed to be said. I recently tried the tuna sandwich at Flancer's in Gilbert, and unfortunately, it was extremely oversalted. After just one bite, I felt sick, and I couldn't continue eating it. The green chile mushroom phyllos were put on a bed of greens which made no sense for delivery transport as the greens got soggy leaving a disgusting taste affecting the appetizer. I understand that everyone has different tastes, but this was beyond what I could handle. The quality of the sandwich and the phyllos just didn't justify the price. I really wanted to enjoy it, but sadly, this was a hard miss for me. Hopefully, it was just an off day.

Yelp
My Dearest Flancers, As a born and raised local, Flancers truly has been a staple for me. From my highschool and college days, to date nights with my husband, I have always loved the food and atmosphere. BUT as a regular and true fan of Flancers, change has been made and sadly not in a good way. The fries have always been in a league of their own with how crispy and home made they were, but now, today we were given basic Idaho or orleta frozen shape like fries. They were in fact cooked and salted but lacked the crispiness and home made feel as the original fries had! The sandwiches and services are always and I mean ALWAYS top quality! Please bring back your quality, top notch fries. Sincerely, A usual customer

Yelp
Ordered thru Uber eats. Worst pizza I've ever had. The crust was softer than a wet noodles and there was no cheese at all. $30 in the trash can.
google avatar

Terry W.

Yelp
Staff not wearing masks, no spacing of tables. Have to knock off a star just for that. They should take customer welfare more seriously, even if some of the customers don't seem to care. Service was very friendly, and reasonably attentive. We had the "Where The Meats Have Gone" sandwich and fries, and the "It's about Thyme Chicken" with Green Chile Stew. The "Meats" sandwich was underwhelming. Not bad, but not great. Fries were very nice. The Thyme Chicken was better, and their Green Chile Stew was pretty good.

Anna M.

Yelp
Delicious! I had the prickly pair chicken sandwich with a side of green chile Mac n' cheese. The baguette was soft and the light spread on the bread was dynamite! Chicken was moist and thinly shaved. An all around great sandwich! The side of green chile Mac n cheese was good too. Not dry and had some spice with chunks of peppers within. Tasty! I can't wait to go back because I have been trying to find a good Philly cheese steak and one of my friend's said her husband's entire family orders the Philly each time they frequent the restaurant. If you're looking for good salads and sandwiches, look no further!

Kay N.

Yelp
Love this place! The prickly pear chicken was so good! The fresh baked bread sets it off and the homemade desserts are delicious! Some pretty cool retro concert/music posters on the walls. Service was fast as well. We will be back!

David P.

Yelp
The menu looked fantastic, but the sandwiches fell flat. I ordered the Prickly Pear Chicken and my wife got the Ace Club and both were just very bland. I'd be willing to give this place another try, but I won't get my hopes up.

Brenda H.

Yelp
ordered a BLT and no complaints about the bacon, but barely any lettuce and one very thin piece of tomato split between the 2 sides of the sandwich. Very disappointing and not cheap

Helen T.

Yelp
We live a mile from this place (the one on Higley) but today was our first time. Julia, our server was exceptional, and the pastrami was delicious-smokey and the bun was soft and fresh. My husband had the tuna melt and loved it as well. We are looking forward to returning for breakfast, brunch and to try out everything on their menu! What a gem of a restaurant!
google avatar

Evelyn D.

Yelp
Still great. As wonderful as the menu is hubby only gets the Philly cheesesteak. He just needs to figure out which side he likes. Not a fan of the fries as they have a coating on them which he doesn't like. I tried the goat cheese salad- excellent- and the chili pork stew - very hot but good.
google avatar

Tom A.

Yelp
Really enjoyed their food, service, and Shell fuel rewards program. Sorry to see you leave that program. We may still stop by occasionally but it's a pretty slim chance.

Ruth B.

Yelp
The sandwich and fries were good but it did not justify the price. I'd go again if it wasn't 17$ for a meal. I would have appreciated the bread for my sandwich having the option of being toasted. The customer service was nice but they would ask too often how was my food, and if everything was ok and I just wanted to eat my food so I would just give them a thumbs up alot. The place had a beautiful interior as well as a nice view of down town gilbert though the pricing on the food in todays economy doesn't encourage a second visit.

Shar S.

Yelp
Always hear about this place. Came years ago and the host/waiter was rude. This kept me from coming back Then a friend who mentioned it recently had me wanting to give it another try We'll host/ waiter still rude and short The jalapeño mashed was spoiled The soup was amazing The Philly steak was not toasted- and had gritty meat pieces French fried came cold phyllo's are not to be ordered. Horrible
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
We ordered for pick up. We ordered the meatball sub combo and the We Must Meat, I Ain't Lion* Filet Mignon with sweet potato fries. The food is just alright the times we have been. Tonight there was a bone in my meatball sub and I was so sad!

Bessie C.

Yelp
I've consistently enjoyed excellent meals at Flancer's. Their innovative gourmet sandwiches and heavenly desserts never disappoint, always pleasing my taste buds. Plus, the warm and comforting atmosphere makes each dining experience there utterly soothing.
google avatar

Kayla V.

Yelp
I had low expectations but the quality of food was even lower. The bolognese l received looks nothing like the pictures. It's flavorless tomato sauce with overcooked, unseasoned bits of ground beef. The caesar salad dressing looked promising but also had no flavor. I haven't left a review since 2014 but here I am. I am offended by the nerve and audacity to call this bolognese. Also, stacking cold products ontop of hot in a bag that's tied shut is lazy and careless. Do better.
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
The goat cheese bruschetta appetizer is fantastic! 20/10 recommend that one. The beef stroganoff entree was not good. It uses fettuccine noodles and the sauce had next to no flavor, not to mention it was very watery. The steak in the sauce was quite good though. Remember to check-in via Yelp, as they will give you a free cookie!

Carissa H.

Yelp
We shared the Philly Cheesesteak and Prickly Pear chicken sandwich with fries and green Chile Mac and cheese.. everything was delicious! Our server Myke was awesome and made great recommendations!

Alexander C.

Yelp
I went in as an Uber delivery driver. Had to wait an extra 15 minutes for the order and was angrilly sassed by staff over simple questions about the order. No excuse to treat delivery badly when we're enabling your sales in delivery.

Joanne T.

Yelp
I wouldn't put it on my list of favorites, but it wasn't bad, just disappointed . I got a hamburger and expected it to be on a bun, it came on a roll, not seasoned. Restaurant is dated and has the old building smell, now I know why I haven't been here in years. Service was ok, that's all I can say‍
google avatar

Miss M.

Yelp
No matter where I go and no matter what I think I always forget how good the bread is that planters. Doesn't really matter what's on there, that bread is just good! I chose the chili relleno sandwich and I was not disappointed. I ended up just taking the artillery animal off the bread and eating it by itself and enabling on the bread. The chili mac and cheese had a bit more heat than I was expecting but after several bites my mouth became accustomed to it and I enjoyed it the pasta was done properly the cheese was creamy and I could taste the chilies! I wish the chairs were a little bit more comfortable for the last, it's just a little cafe! For the first several years this place was open it got the best sandwich in the valley from Phoenix New times and well deserved. No one at my table was disappointed except the vegetarian who said the pesto wasn't smeared enough and it was a bit dry. I told her she should have sent it back but she said oh well I ate it. Well they can't improve things if you don't tell him it's not right and you can't enjoy it if you don't tell him the way you want it! The cobbler on the other hand, was dry, lacked a substantial amount of fruit and didn't have much flavor. That was disappointing. The other picture is of apple cobbler that I had gotten at a previous visit and it was quite tasty but came with the ice cream. I was taking the mango cobbler home for later which is why I didn't have the ice cream with it.
