"Housed in a converted grain elevator, Flâneur Wines’s Carlton tasting room pours a slate of wines from the Ribbon Ridge and Chehalem Mountains AVAs, including some welcome bubbles and whole cluster pinot. Flâneur Wines has a good handle on savory character in its pinot, with good structure for cellaring. As the indoor grain elevator tasting room is on the smaller side, it’s a good idea to grab a reservation. Flâneur is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, taking its last walk-in at 4:00 p.m." - Zoe Baillargeon, Brooke Jackson-Glidden

In comparison to other wineries in the valley not very impressed in terms of value. A $25 tasting with a three bottle purchase to waive with an average price of $50 per bottle doesn't make much sense. The wine was alright but nothing differentiated in my opinion.

Talk about an amazing space, with friendly helpful staff. Their wine really stands out from their peers. They have fruit forward vintages as well as the earthy pinots Oregon is known for. What really stood out for us though was their '17 chardonnay and the same vintage sparkling white. I'm just gonna say those were so perfect my wife had to convince me not to buy the magnum. So instead I will have to pack up some friends and bring them over. It's truly an experience and I loved every minute of it.

Top notch wines and great service. Beautiful interior building that was once a grain silo. Reasonable prices for being such high quality wines. Overall fantastic.

I can't say enough to say how impressed I am with Flaneur Wines. The creative spirit as witness by renovation and use of the historic Carton grain elevator as the tasting area and event center sets the stage for an experience hard to match. The staff is very knowledgeable and the hospitality is among the best among the Oregon wineries. As one who has been collecting wines for over 50 years, I have been fortunate to acquire wines from wineries before they were well know including wines from the Willamette valley going back to the 1970's. The wines of Flaneur are, without question, ones I will continue to add to my wine cellar. The 2017 La Belle Promenade Pinot Noir is an especially impressive wine, silky smooth, with complex, long lingering aroma and flavors, so satisfying and reminiscent of classic red burgundies. One can see why so many French wine houses are now establishing vineyards and wineries in the Willamette Valley. They see the potential when tasting wines like this!

Would have rated a 1 🌟, but the renovation of the grainery is amazing. We went here because the wine they guest poured at Dobbs was fantastic. The wine they offered was drinkable, but nothing special. They don't allow any outside food inside or on their patio. The patio is nice though. They do offer a couple plates, but unpronounceable and very expensive, $22 All-in-All, not very enjoyable.

Went to Tendril, Lavinea and Carlton Winemakers Studio; all with exceptional wines and service. Our group purchased multiple cases of lovely wines. Then, Flaneur...horrible tasting experience. We were left at a table for 15 minutes with no wines to taste! This us the 2nd experience of this nature. Never again!

We went early on a Friday with plenty of parking and tables without reserved signs and the woman said in a very rude way that she couldn't help us and asked us to come back another day. If there was any tact in the way she said this I would have understood, but it was like we weren't good enough to be there and she was just rude. I won't be trying again.

Flaneur is in a beautifully restored Carlton building which is worth a visit, and the wine was good. The service on the other hand in my opinion ruined the experience. Hopefully they will have turnover in staff soon as the man who poured for me was very arrogant. I have been to many more notable tasting rooms and honestly have never been "talked down to" from staff like I was here. I'd love to go back in a year once they are more settled and develop a better, classier tasting room staff.

Yelp
One our favorite tastings of the week! We will be back! And we joined the wine club. A cool place and a great experience.

Yelp
The location was unbeatable!!! Kelly was beyond amazing and Anthony the wine maker is a genius . Best winery in the entire Willamette Valley!!!

David M.

Yelp
We have done several dozen tastings in the Willamette Valley over the years & our experience at Flaneur this weekend was one of our all-time favorites. We'd been trying to come for years & glad that we finally made it happen. The pinots and chardonnay were absolutely tremendous and Mindy was one of the most knowledgeable sommeliers we've met, not to mention one of the most accommodating. PS Highly recommend splurging on their truffle popcorn with your tasting also!

Mark M.

Yelp
Kelly was amazing and made our visit to Flaneur extra special. The wines and nosh plate was unique and delicious. The interior is spectacular with a vibey grain barn feel. Totally coming back.

Yelp
Great space in a converted grain elevator. Pinots were bold and fruit forward. Some ready to drink today and some to lay down. Sparkling was also great. Had the cheese tasting to complement the wine tasting which was well curated. Did make a reservation since it was a Saturday, but they had a couple spare tables so you might be okay to walk in if you timed it right.

Yelp
The 'Supper Club' evening is excellent and I highly recommend it. It was my first time going and I went by myself, but everyone was warm and welcoming and I made some new friends. But, the evening is really about the 'Supper' the chef they bring in is fantastic and the food is spot in. You will not leave hungry. I hope they keep doing this because it's hard to find wineries doing social events and bringing the community together. It's unique and fun and more establishments should follow this blueprint. Beautiful setting, great food, excellent wines, of course, wonderful and attentive staff. I have paid much more for way less for a dining experience. This isn't just 'going out to dinner' this is an experience that will be memorable and you'll probably leave with a nice bottle of wine. :)

Yelp
The tasting room was cool - converted silo with lots of wood on the walls and different styles of tables and chairs for a unique experience. We all had the highlighted wine flight - $30/each - bubbles to pinot noir. Our server was robotic and explained the amounts of new oak barrels and the locations of the vineyards but she sounded bored and scripted. There was no interaction of wanting to know if we were locals or visitors, no questions if we enjoyed the wine or engaging in conversation as we had experienced at other local wineries. Place was empty by the time we had our third pour (out of five and around 330pm) so guess it's time to break out the staff tasting! A male staff member came out to the bar with a bottle wrapped in tin foil - wth? - and proceeded to pour five full glasses on the bar and then they all started drinking. Overheard a comment while they were laughing and chatting that it was a 2013. That would have been nice to try... Meanwhile we had empty glasses for almost 10 minutes. No eye contact. No checking on us (table was next to the bar too). My son works at a winery so is industry. I worked in the industry for 5 years until recently and would have NEVER done anything so tacky. Pass on this tasting experience. There are plenty of amazing wineries and tasting rooms within walking distance to have an immersive experience. Too bad because we joined the wine club on the last three wineries before that. They lost out on that one.

Yelp
6 of us had a great time tasting at Flaneur. Excellent bubbles, chard and pinots (and popcorn!!). Such a rustic and comfortable space to enjoy wine. Thank you Mindy for taking care of us - you're awesome!

Yelp
Recommended by the Sommelier at Okta, McMinnville, Flaneur was an exceptional tasting experience. Sandy was our host and educated us about the Williamette Valley (1st timers here), and enriched our experience with her generous knowledge and fine wines. The refurbed Grainery provides a unique experience inside or out. We chose the patio on a sunny Oregon day and it did not disappoint. The whole concept of the Flaneur spoke to us on our adventure and we reveled in enjoying every moment. The wines were fabulous and we bought several Pinots and the Sparkling - which I can't get enough of. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We had not been to Flâneur since they opened in the Grain Elevator, and we were blown away by how beautiful it is! Kellie served us and she was a delight! We had so much fun! We were the only customers in there for most of our tasting. She had several parties outside, but she took great care of us! She was clearly busy, but she took time to chat with us, and we shared a lot of laughs. We ended up buying a case. We can't wait to go back next year. Beth Hommert

Yelp
Joined the club we loved the wine and tasting room so much. Bought a bottle of bubbles to celebrate our son's engagement

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful inside ! The tasting room is inside a grain elevator and it is just so cool! Love the plants, art work and music playing . Good wines and service as well. Loved the vibe, very relaxed. We had an awesome time!

Yelp
This winery is newer establishment in Carlton, but I love their tasting room. Old barn turned into a beautiful well designed space. Open air but still cozy, so feels like being home, bar counter, couch and upstair library. Wish I can live here :) All Pinot Nor for Red and Chardonnay for white but their Wines have potential, and looking forward to coming back to do more tasting when the city has girls night out! (Every other month, April, June, Aug, Oct and Dec)

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting on Saturday, May 27. Our host, Sandy, both instructed and answered our many questions regarding the wines served. We left feeling a little bit smarter and with a delicious bottle of 2018 Pinot...I really appreciated both the passion and enthusiasm of Sandy...Highly recommended!

Yelp
The Flaneur space in the grain elevator in Carlton is magical! It's the best if the old world of wood craft construction and a super cozy and friendly tasting space -- and of course the wines are unbelievable! So much to offer, words do little to describe, but it is a destination worth a drive. Love the people too ! warm and wine savvy, friendly and charming. Highest recommendation!!!

Mandy N.

Yelp
Beautiful wines and a lovely, grand tasting room, with excellent customer service! They also allow dogs inside which is always going to gain the establishment an extra star ;).

Candra C.

Yelp
The dinners, wine, happy hours and other events continue to impress. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the wines and more importantly fun! The food is excellent and keeps getting better, which is hard to imagine. The space is one-of-a-kind and perfect for events or a casual tasting. A true delight on all fronts! Big shout out to our friends at Flaneur!

Marion S.

Yelp
Unbelievable wines the cuvée is incredible along with the revelry Pinot is unlike anything I've tried. Ask for will to pour your wines! Friendly and knowledgable!

Stephen F.

Yelp
This place is EPIC! I've been to both their downtown tasting room and their barn in Newberg and just wow! The wines are really a standout in the valley, the tasting locations are super cool, and the staff is knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly! Add this to your list for sure!

Daniel M.

Yelp
Too much oak across the board. Didn't care for any of the wines on their tasting flight. Wine glasses were sub-par for Pinot. .... Service was friendly but sub-professional. Nice space and location, and lots to love about the aesthetic. A little more baby-friendly than most wine-centered businesses. They are pushing the envelope on design and space, but their wines have a ways to go. They may just need to let some more of their barrels age; not sure if they are trying to be so oaky or not. 3.5 stars if I could.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Flaneur is one of those smaller wineries in the valley. They are doing great things thou, don't let their size fool you! Currently they are in downtown Carlton, by apt only. They are renovating the old grain elevator building that is targeted to open sometime next year. I can't wait to see what they do with the space! The current tasting room is small, and has a view of the action where the wine is stored. If your lucky, the winemaker might be there when you visit. Flaneur is a cool name with a story behind it. Their wines are very good too. From a light Pinot to a darker more bold Pinot, they have something for everyone's palate I beleive. I'm a fan of their Chardy also. Oregon Chards are smoother than the all buttery California styles. We loved Flaneur and the people behind these wines so much, we joined their club. We are very excited to see what awesome things they have planned!

Cristin O.

Yelp
Loved the building and location in downtown Carlton. Great ambiance inside of a converted grain storage building. Wines were OK after tasting some of the best in the region. Also, we purchased 3 bottles of wine, and Flaneur only waived one tasting fee, which isn't what I've experienced at other wineries in the area, and was a disappointment to our group. I shared this feedback directly with GM.

Dawn S.

Yelp
Really disappointed in the service here. If we hadn't had incredible service at the other wineries we visited it might of ruined our day. Not sure what ''twas going on.

Jessica P.

Yelp
This place was great! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, was because the flight costs $25, and the pours we got were TINY. I'd expect to pay $15 for a flight in a tasting room (not a scenic vineyard) but the new building was really neat and they let well behaved dogs inside, which was a plus for us on the rainy day that we went in. The staff are all super friendly and great at giving descriptions of what we were drinking and I'm excited to see the upstairs portion as soon as they're finished with construction. The Chardonnay was my favorite, which surprised me, being more of a red wine girl.

John N.

Yelp
A very unique setting for a tasting excellent wines. Mindy did a great job of informing us about each of the wines we tasted. Will definitely come back here.

H M.

Yelp
Spend an enjoyable afternoon wine tasting here Make sure Will is your server/pourer he was great!

Jonathan M.

Yelp
One of the best wine tasting experiences I've ever had. The tasting room is comfortable and gorgeous. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. The wine was incredible. I'm ready to go back for more! I've not been able to stop talking about Flaneur since we left Carlton!

Michelle M.

Yelp
Our tasting was a couple weeks ago when most businesses were reopening after being shut down for a while, and they seemed to be handling it well. Beautiful renovated space with multiple places for small groups to hang out social distanced. The wine was a little young but we bought a few to take home.

Denise O.

Yelp
We went to Flaneur for the first time Today. My boyfriend has a vineyard in Dayton. We have done a lot of wine tasting in the Willamette Valley. This is our new favorite spot. Tyson was super knowledgeable and very friendly. The wines were Amazing! We will be back in Oregon for harvest and cannot wait to visit Flaneur again! Thank you Tyson for such a great experience!

Nadja K.

Yelp
This place was fabulous!!! They are on the mid to high end, but worth every penny. They have a small selection, but I enjoyed each one!!! I will be back with more friends to share this fabulous place with them!

Rick O.

Yelp
Not a bad place. I think it will get better as time goes on. Not the best wines in the area but okay. The price points are a little high especially for the Chardonnay. They did a really nice job restoring the old grain elevator.

T M.

Yelp
5 stars though for the personality of the tasting presenter Cody! Excellent knoweledge and pesonality in a very ecletic location. Well worth the visit. Nice flights that were reasonably priced.

Henry G.

Yelp
Delicious wines! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Repurposed and wonderfully cozy barn/wine tasting room.
