"This South Florida chain has been a favorite since 1959. And we like the Surfside location a lot—it's dark and wooden, like the hull of an old ship. It's actually our second favorite Flanigan's location in Miami (yes, we ranked them all). Both the wings (free every Wednesday if you buy a pitcher of beer) and ribs will give you the sustenance you need after helping your little cousin build sandcastles for six hours. "Wait time on a random Saturday at 8pm: 15-30 mins All our Flanigan’s are pretty landlocked, which is counterintuitive for a restaurant that feels like the hull of a pretty chill pirate ship. But the Surfside location is just across the street from a literal ocean, and its carefree beachy-ness comes through. The wooden exterior puts you in a nautical mood before you even walk in, and the segmented dining rooms give the big space an intimate dive bar feel no matter where you sit. But the service is what sets Surfside apart. They say hello and goodbye like they mean it, the juicy wings are stacked with the care of an architect, and bartenders wordlessly sling napkins your way just as you feel sauce dripping down your chin. Their wings are pretty good, and consistently so—no matter which of the eight Miami locations you visit. They aren’t mind-blowing, but they’re comforting—the kind of saucy wings (mild, medium, hot, or BBQ are your options) perfect for drenching in blue cheese.
