Where to Eat and Drink Near Great Smoky Mountains National Park | Eater

"Another breakfast institution in the area, Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin is a Tennessee mini-chain with a half dozen locations around the Smokies, all housed in literal wooden cabins. The Pigeon Forge location, right on the main U.S. 441 corridor that enters the national park from the northwest, is convenient for pregaming before a hike. Sure, you could feast on chicken fried steak or chicken biscuit skillets, but there’s no better way to fuel up for a day in the mountains than with a plate of bear cakes — bear-shaped smiley-face pancakes with a chocolate syrup smile and chocolate chip eyes. Or, if you’d rather not order off the kids’ menu, other pancake options range from cinnamon-swirled sticky bun pancakes with cream cheese icing to multigrain pancakes spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg." - Matt Kirouac

Be prepared for alot of food. Definitely being your stomach. Good reviews on the food all around. The pancakes are large, the scrambled eggs are cooked well, the bacon is thick cut and spot on. The hash brown casserole is delicious. Our server was great. Very attentive. We all ate too much and had food left over.

We had excellent service - our server was on point. Great family friendly place with good breakfast options. I particularly like that they offer gluten free pancakes. The one thing we did not like was the candied bacon twists - too fatty / not crispy enough and flavor not great I’ve been here 3x and always on a weekday so no wait, but I hear it gets crowded on the weekends

Food was good. Service was good. Our food came quickly. My wife's crepes were very good. The chicken was tender and juicy, the waffle was fairly good. I expected the sauce to have more heat. Note: they serve Pepsi products

Went here for breakfast this morning and honestly the food is pretty average the pancakes are like any other pancakes you find. Beats i-hop for sure but that's not a very high bar lol. My wife got the hash browns and they are fantastic I was just hoping for a little more from the pancakes. The kids enjoyed it though and that's what matters. The atmosphere of this place though is definitely on the better side. Staff is friendly and professional i would recommend

If you’re hungry for breakfast and wanting something delicious with friendly service, come to Flapjack’s and order a skillet! I ordered a scrumptious Spanish skillet with eggs, hash browns, green peppers, chorizo, shredded cheeses, and fresh Pico de Gallo! My friend ordered Walker’s Cabin Skillet, which also looked delicious, that consisted of Skillet of hash browns, topped with a split cathead biscuit, two eggs, and smothered in sausage gravy and shredded cheeses, and a choice of bacon or sausage. Both meals came with a side of 2 pancakes, but the highlight of our meal were the skillets! The manager comped us Flapjack fritters (without us even asking) for having us wait for a few extra minutes to get seated and at the end, comped our entire meal! Wow! I wish I were from this area so I could pay them another visit!

We went at 10am to the Flapjacks in Gatlinburg. These were the best pancakes Ive ever eaten in my life! Behold.... the sticky bun pancake. Our server, Zataria (forgive me for butchering her name if I did) was the best server, great attitude, attentive. We actually went again the next day and gave her a big hug.

These fresh fruit crepes are absolutely so delicious, there was so many things on this menu I need to try! If I’m ever back this way I’ll definitely be stopping back in, and the view was beautiful outside and the restaurant inside is very nicely decorated. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the smokies , service was fast and friendly as well. A+++

Great restaurant! And f you want breakfast on the Parkeay but want free parking… this is a great option as they have their own parking lot! Even with a party of 9 the wait was only 5-10 minutes and they were busy! We had a wonderful waitress who even made an impromptu bday pancake for us and sang along with us! The food was pretty good and the order came out accurate! Coffee is good and fresh too. The kind you can actually drink black! Will eat here again.
