"Night owls can find sustenance at this 24-hour diner with two locations in Hallandale Beach and Davie. This old Hollywood-themed diner offers most of the classics and a selection of sandwiches named after celebrities.  A few Greek specialties and even more upscale options like steaks, chops, and seafood round out the menu if you want to treat yourself." - Eater Staff

Not fancy. Not fine cuisine. Just really good diner food. LOTS of HUGE sandwiches to choose from. Meat and two veggie platters. Big predictable breakfasts. Plenty. Of. Food. lol Good coffee. Efficient staff. Open real late (2a, not 24x7 anymore). Seldom crowded. If you’re in the area and hungry - give it a try.

📍 Flashback Diner Review If you're craving French toast, this place delivers big time—perfectly golden, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Absolute must-try! As for the Philly steak sandwich, it was just okay—nothing to rave about but decent enough if you're in the mood for it. 🚨 Chili cheese fries? Hard pass. Way overpriced for what you get, and the taste just doesn't justify the cost. Overall, a mix of hits and misses, but that French toast alone might be worth the trip. 🍽️ #FoodReview #FlashbackDiner #FrenchToastWin #FoodieAdventures

Google
A fun place for dinner. I enjoyed the old picture of Elvis, star trek, titanic, and so on. The food was good. I had the cowboy burger, a cheese burger with an onion rings and bbq sauce on it. It was delicious, would recommend. The staff was friendly, and very accommodating of a large group.

Google
I had a REALLY amazing experience at Flashback Diner food was AMAZING!!! Got the Dick Clark Reuben and for dessert pumpkin pie and EVERYTHING was to my likings!!! Especially have live music in the restaurant!!!!! I’m comin’ back REAL soon!!! No question asked 🤣

Christopher Cleary

Google
The napkins are quality. Everything else is not. Scrambled eggs aspire to average. The sausage is dense and hard. Buttermilk pancakes are OK but without pure maple syrup, they struggle. Denver omelette is greasy and bland (and served without cheese). Hash browns were kind of disgusting. We were seated below a blown speaker that was equal parts static and music. Service was good, but who frequents a restaurant solely based on service?

Google
We came at 4am and I got the pastrami sooooo good. We also got the most insane chocolate cake with strawberry ice cream. The best part of the entire experience though was our waitress Stacey!!!! One of the best servers I’ve ever had. To have such a positive happy attitude at 4am is NOT easy. I worked in the service industry for 14 years, I know. She’s a keeper! Thank you Stacey !!

Google
Please ask for TAMA! She’s the absolute sweetest and her recommendations for everything was perfect . I didn’t capture a picture of the appetizer (shrimp skewer) . But the chicken and waffle and blue berry lemonade mimosa was amazing . Lots of food and good pricing. PLEASE COME HERE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.

Google
Good service, the server was nice, asked, and filled our coffee and orange juice (good one). The food was ok, the hashbrown was kind of sour and the waffles were warm/cold.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years and live 5 minutes away , Wifey was in the mood for soup and sandwich so we let's try it again . They've definitely remodeled since the last time we were here , we ordered the many bean soup and matzo ball soup and shared a corned beef sandwich , the coleslaw and pickles were fantastic everything was great , fast and clean our server Jessica was very bubbly and a great server . Will definitely come back .

Yelp
Was at Flashback Diner pretty late in the evening. Eggs, bacon, and pancakes all were good. Waitress was very quick and upbeat. It has a classic Diner vibe. Highly recommend!:)

Sabrina F.

Yelp
I have to say most diners I've been to have very weird tasting eggs - not this place! I had their veggie omelette - it was delicious! I loved the food! The "home fries" could've been better. Overall we were happy with our service and experience. I do plan to be back. I did see several patrons come in on a Sunday afternoon for the meatloaf so may try that entree in the future. Decor is cute and on theme, parking is ample, and place is well kept.

Janet M.

Yelp
I love the nostalgic ambience of the dinner. Reminds me of growing up in New Jersey and going to the old school dinners. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Flashback Diner is located on Biscayne Blvd, right across from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach. I recommend turning into Flashback from the red light at Gulfstream Park to allow easy entry into the private parking lot at Flashback with plenty of free parking. We dined at Flashback on a weekday evening and were warmly greeted by the hostess and were promptly seated. Our server came by a few minutes later and was very nice and provided us with a warm greeting and offered us suggestions on the menu. We started with a carafe of Chardonnay wine ($27.99) and it was a decent quality for the price. They also provide you with a complimentary loaf of Challah bread to start as well. My husband and I both ordered the meatloaf ($17.99), including two slices of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and a green veggie. The diner had amazing service, and the food was the definition of comfort food. I highly recommend giving it a shot if that's the type of food you're in the mood for. I'm a little puzzled why some of the reviews are so low- so disregard these and definitely give them a try!

Yelp
Eh. One of the few things open at 11 pm on a weeknight. Figured we'd give it a try. I got the Patty melt, hubs got the club burger. Mine was decent, his was a bit bready not enough meat. I'm from the northeast and diners tend to hit the spot back home so I wouldn't say this fit the bill. Prob won't go back. IHOP was a bit more satisfying

Yelp
We used to love this place and always visited when in the area over the past 15 years. The last time we visited, about 6 months ago, we noticed a change in food quality that was not for the better. We left unhappy but thought that it may have been a fluke. We went back this morning and unfortunately found out that it was not. The pancakes were like rubber. The syrup was watery and had an off taste. The scrambled eggs were not blended together. The bacon was soggy and fatty ... all at a hefty price. So very disappointing as this place was a tradition for us when visiting Aventura on our way to the Keys.

Russ G.

Yelp
so its just really good and great service and a nice place to eat and the choices are the best to me its five stars easy and we really love it and the staff is super efficient always and that is for sure

Anita T.

Yelp
Got carry out for dessert. The portion (apple pie slice) was on the small side. They did warm it. Ordered a side scoop of ice cream. It was more like a half scoop. They had a tough time scooping it out of the frozen container. Nice, but I won't go back.

Lea L.

Yelp
Cute quaint diner. My friend recommended it to us. He had salmon with grits, which was delicious. My bf and I had eggs and pancakes, with mimosas.

Judith S.

Yelp
My last experience at Flashback Diner was somewhat mixed. While the service was commendable, with attentive and friendly staff, the food left much to be desired. I found the dishes to be lackluster and not up to par with my expectations. On the bright side, the good service did help make the meal a bit more enjoyable. Regarding the ambiance, I was taken aback when I realized my party was the only one in the entire diner. The lack of other customers gave the place an eerie and deserted feel, which affected the overall dining atmosphere. I would have preferred a livelier ambiance to enhance the dining experience. In summary, while the service was good, the food quality and the quiet ambiance with no other diners took away from what could have been a more enjoyable visit to Flashback Diner. With some improvements in the food department and efforts to create a more inviting ambiance, this restaurant could easily earn a higher rating.

Yelp
We came here for dinner with friends. We'd been here many years ago when looking for a place with a variety of options -- to suit everyone's different cravings -- and thought we could do the same this time. We came early and they were not very busy. In any case, we had good service. And there was plenty of parking in their private lot. You can have breakfast here all day. The eggs were cooked as ordered; the sausage links well done; the waffles were light and fluffy. The matzah ball soup was decent. The "ball" itself was huge. It also came with wavy noodles. The broth was flavorful. The spanakopita -- spinach pie -- was a large square with flaky filo. It was served with two large ripe red tomato slices. The Buffalo wings were meaty and only slightly spicy. It was a mix of drums and flats with celery. You got to choose between ranch or blue cheese for your dipping sauce. We were too full for desserts. But they had quite a few appealing cakes, et al, in their display case. Next time, I'd like to try their chicken and waffles or even one of their Benedict's. Good to know they're open whenever you're hungry and in the neighborhood.

Yelp
This place has a horrible vibe the manager is even horrible the server Leo messed up my order and I could hardly understand him food was ok nothing special at all very basic and the restroom was disgusting. This dinner was in halendale beach florida

Dai Ware N.

Yelp
Waited about 15 minutes for a someone to acknowledge seated customers. No one ever did. We left and went to another establishment. In this economy, restaurants must be extremely careful. Eating out is a luxury and it's much cheaper for the consumer to eat at home.

Anie R.

Yelp
Listen it is what it is...good comfort food. Been here 2x already. First after seeing a musical 12am (our server was great Ruben sandwich was good). Second time came wit my mom for breakfast again "good comfort food" & price not bad either! Ps-I enjoy going to brunch but unfortunately places are getting way to expensive!! My last outing was to one of my favorite "brunch" place & for 3 people bill came out to almost $100!!!! Yes that's right & we ordered the usual. I almost fell out of my chair!!!!

Bernie W.

Yelp
Corned beef sandwich., tasteless & stringy & dry ! Fruit cup was a joke of the hardest tasteless fruit ! Not like the Flashback of years ago !

Jorge A.

Yelp
Food deliciousness, fresh and didn't hold back on portion size. Service off the chain Jessica was our server and she was on it so friendly and was there if we needed something. Ambiance was chill, had nice music playing in the background. Overall a wonderful experience and happy to return again and again! Thank you!

Ori W.

Yelp
Uber eats. Salmon benedict + 1 egg. This is how it looks like. I was completely sure the delivery person ate my order, but I called the restaurant and they knew exactly what I was talking about. The manager told me it is what it is. Jail food

Patrick D.

Yelp
I came with a large group of 10 people for an 8am breakfast. They have plenty of seating for large groups. They were short staffed and had a couple mix ups with the dishes ordered but the food was very good. The coffee cups all stayed filled. This is a 24 hour dinner. Much better than a Denny's or IHOP. It does cost a little more but to me, it's worth it.

W. M.

Yelp
The food was good we ordered two 2.2.2 French toast, eggs and sausage & bacon. One of my French toast was burnt of course the burnt side was on the bottom of the plate. Over the was good, hot and our server was very friendly.

Cheryl L.

Yelp
Great service. Friendly staff who are there to please. Best granola French toast with fresh berries. Yum

Diane M.

Yelp
Fatty and tough sandwiches. No way they are a half pound. We politely complained and the manager was rude. Not worth $20 a sandwich!

Faryn E.

Yelp
We came here after a night out and they saved the day! The food was so good even at 3am! Our server was Stacey and she was so awesome and polite. She is definitely the reason I would go back! It was a little chilly in the restaurant so I ordered the hot chocolate for my beverage. The. for breakfast I ordered the egg BLT which was interesting. The portions are HUGE so I could not finish it all and the BLT isn't so great for leftovers as it got soggy. 10/10 overall

Gary M.

Yelp
December 11/2021: Not a bad place. It definitely retro if that's what you're looking for. A family diner. Sunday morning & the place wasn't busy yet. The food was good tasting but not great. I have the Benny Goodman. Eggs were done perfect but neither the eggs or the hash browns were hot enough. Lost a star for slow food delivery & the temp of the food. I'd go back but I'd make sure on my food instructions.

Dorothy K.

Yelp
we went here at the peak of lunch hour. No other table had patrons. the waiter told us they were out of several menu items. my guests ordered lunch, and had no complaints. I, however, only had coffee, which wasn't fresh. the waiter took our Amex card, then came back and said they didn't accept Amex. all in all, we were not impressed, and although we were there for over an hour, no one else came in the establishment. I will not be returnin.

Samantha P.

Yelp
The food was decent, although quality and options have declined. The service was sub-par. I was quite disappointed in My experience.

Isabel F.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of the city, the restaurant exudes a timeless charm, but it's clear that it's been a while since it received the TLC it deserves. The interior, though once inviting, now bears signs of wear and tear, hinting at the need for a rejuvenating upgrade. With a fresh infusion of care, this hidden gem could once again sparkle, offering a delightful dining experience for all who step through its doors.

Daniel R.

Yelp
The saving grace last night was my friend's salad. His wife and I had something so simple as the two egg basic breakfast. Eggs were rather small and the food came out warm instead of hot. The potatoes were an abomination as they weren't properly cooked. The whole fiasco came out to $53.00 which felt like I was financially raped for this type of food quality. The toast was more toward heated bread than actually toasted. Service was above average but it won't save you from what you might get exposed to in food quality. Bathrooms were clean but had a strange odor. Liked the Davie location so much better. Plenty of parking is a plus and is right across the street from Gulfstream Park.

Tony M.

Yelp
Went there for the first time, what a mistake, Ordered the Reuben sandwich. It was very thin and the meat was 90% fatty. It was horrible. The potato pancake was nothing to write home about and our waitress was a miserable woman. My guest ordered a chicken Cobb salad and the bill was $44. Trust me I will not be going back there!

Katherine D.

Yelp
Very sweet staff, giant breakfast! Went around 9:30 on a Saturday and wasn't too busy.

Zane C.

Yelp
My wife and I moved to the Miami area at the beginning of the year. This was one of the first places we tried it was a 24 hour diner. Now here we are nearly a year later, we visit multiple times per week, the service, food, and overall experiences absolutely fantastic. Never have had a bad visit, and we will keep coming back.

Rodrigo B.

Yelp
UPDATE* This time it took an hour to get our food. Sadly, nothings changed since the last time we been here.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
The restaurant was fine, seemed to be clean. Service was just ok. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and that was good. But the Belgian waffle was not good, it had no flavor and it was rubbery. I could barely cut it. My daughter had the pancakes and same thing so I guess the same batter was used. One of us got the grits and those were off too, didn't eat them. It was definitely overpriced for the quality of food you get.

Jess B.

Yelp
Although the service was excellent, the food quality has diminished. I ordered a grill chicken breast with two sides Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. The Mac and cheese is always excellent the chicken however was dry and bland. My husband got the salmon bowl which was wonderful. I just wish the chicken breast was just disappointing for me.

Sarah S.

Yelp
If I could rate this place 0 stars I would.. I'm actually shocked that this place has customers. I ordered the 2-2-2 (2 eggs, 2 bacon, French toast) for $12.99 and my boyfriend ordered the flashback dinner combo that was basically the same plate as mine but he took the "pancake" and the only difference was his had "1 more piece of bacon" for $15.99. He asked for an extra pancake because his plate only came with "1" and the server punched an entire extra order of pancakes so he got 2 on his plate and an extra stack of 3 which we were charged for. I went to cut open my over-easy eggs down the middle of the two and a bunch of water poured out of the eggs and went all over my plate. There was no way I was eating that and why is there tons of water coming out of the eggs?? I showed the waitress who then said she'd bring me two more, and when I got those, they were barely cooked. At that point I was grossed out and was not going to eat them. I ate the 2 cold pieces of bacon and moved on to the 2 pieces of French toast that were cut in half. It looked like they just painted the sides of bread with egg, left them for a few minutes so they were mushy and served them to me with a bit of icing sugar. Everything was cold, my boyfriends pancakes tasted salty like they were just cooked on the same stovetop as something else with spices. I don't understand why everything was undercooked. I was so frustrated and disgusted that a place would serve food like that to people that we decided to ask for the cheque, which was $49.50, and then when we paid on card, the card machine had tip options at 18% which is $9 freaking dollars, 20% and 25%. ARE THEY CRAZY?! They are feeding people disgusting food and think it's okay. This place should be out of business for the food quality. Not to mention the huge waste of food. I could eat sand and drink the ocean water from the Miami beach and the experience would be the same, the only difference would be that it wouldn't cost me $55.

Mpreach W.

Yelp
Solid diner food, at a good price. Staff was attentive and kind, I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Jon G.

Yelp
Went to this diner one morning before heading to airport. Food was amazing and so was their service. Tama was our server and was excellent as all their servers because we saw a lot of positive interaction. Cute diner with a warm feeling. We will be back when we're down here again.

Jigar D.

Yelp
What a day and night difference in service at this location. We went there twice once at midnight the day we landed and once for brunch couple days later. The service at midnight was top notch 1st class. The hostess was cheerful and attentive vs the hostess few days later was just waiting for her shift to end. The food is good and I guess can depend on when you go there. For brunch they were out of most things we wanted to order what a shame. Things we would recommend are the old fashioned milk shake abs the onion rings tower.

Asia E.

Yelp
The best thing about this place was definitely the service! Our hostess was so nice and had the best customer service. I chose the chicken Parmesan for my entree. The chicken was good and well seasoned however i wasn't a big fan of the noodles they came with as they were larger and there wasn't enough sauce for them. They have a large selection of sweet treats to choose from cakes to pie and cookies. For dessert i chose the cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, it was absolutely delicious so decedent and creamy i would highly recommend trying it!

Alafia107 Z.

Yelp
Coming from the diner capital of America - NJ - I can honestly say that this spot is legit! The food is great, the decor could "flashback" to some of the other great talents of the era depicted, and even though most of the servers are really nice and professional, there is Damariys, just an amazing personality - calm, cool, and collected. He is not only very professional, but he is extremely patient, even during very busy hours. Thank God for people like Damarius

bertica r.

Yelp
we used to go to this diner every Sunday , but the prices have become ridiculously expensive! We stopped in yesterday for a quick lunch. I had the Matxzo ball soup, It was one big Matzo ball with noodels in a watery broth, with some microscopic bits of carrot and celery. The cost was $9.99... My huband had a patty melt. The bill was $32.+ For a soup and sandwich?! Then we waited and waited to get the bill. I'm not going again. I know all about inflation, but really! It's a diner. It's supossed to be inexpensive! The new owners have really jacked up the prices!

Anish B.

Yelp
Fantastic 24/7 diner with yummy comfort food. I enjoyed the omelette and homestyle potatoes - portions were large and filling. The staff was attentive and friendly. Great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner with friends. The menu includes american/greek dishes. Definitely a staple in Hallandale Beach!

Emilia H.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE flashback we usually go once a week. I've tried so many things on the menu they are all great and we are both very picky. Another plus is the food usually comes out fast so you can be in and out. I can't believe there are bad reviews about the service! We love Annie, Tashni, and Olga but everyone has great customer service. I've seen MANY rude customers and they handle them professionally.

Maxie M.

Yelp
I used to go to Flashback Diner now and then a few years ago. The food was fair, nothing great, but warranted return visits. I went recently and the food was not good. I had an open-face turkey dinner with mash potatoes, stuffing and green beans. The turkey was dry and tasteless and the gravy was not good. I also did not like the potatoes, stuffing or green beans. The small cranberry sauce was the one saving grace. The portion size was very good, but a waste of food as I ate very little. My husband had a corned beef sandwich which was also questionable regarding taste. The bread was not good either. They have a very large menu with so much to choose from, but I don't think I'll be going back because the meal lacked taste and consisted of low quality ingredients. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I did want to share my feedback because dining out can be expensive and you hope to get what you pay for by enjoying your meal. I will say that the staff was o.k.

Milli P.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. Larissa was our waitress and she took such great care of us. I was ordering individual breakfast orders for the kids (4,2,&1) she stopped me and said the order has a lot of food and that 2 of them should be enough for the 3 of them and boy was she right. I even had leftovers . I ordered the hash and eggs and it was delicious . My husband had the power omelet it was so good it was the first time he didn't complain . My husband is the type that finds something wrong everywhere we go. He's a harsh critic. I recommend this place to anyone with kids. They are extremely kid friendly.

Kelly M.

Yelp
The best food when you're hungry at late at night good service and relaxing place too enjoy a midnight snack or meal

Ana R.

Yelp
I Called in an order over the phone. I ordered a Gyro & French Fries. When I got it home it lacked lettuce & tomatoes, the lettuce it did have was actually wilted. Oh gyro sauce was missing, accompanying by two packs of mayonnaise . This is deplorable!!!! Hallandale

Lazaro V.

Yelp
Wasn't expecting to come here tonight at all. Had plans of going elsewhere to eat but all the places were packed with of a wait time of at least an hour. With a 3 year old that doesn't work for me. Hadn't been here in years. Decor was a lil outdated but I mean it is called Flashback Diner. Not a huge menu but it is comfort food at its finest. I had the King of club sandwich with fries. Simple yet flavorful sandwich. You can tell the tomato was fresh bacon was crispy and turkey was thick cut. Over very great sandwich. Food great service was great highly recommend if in the neighborhood. Big shoutout to my server Christian he went above and beyond. Great service from him. Overall 8.5/10

John B.

Yelp
Picked up food to go. Meatloaf dinner and the Anthony Quinn ( chicken gyro ). Only to get one measly piece of meatloaf and the chicken gyro was 2 pieces of white bread with pieces of chicken and lettuce. Very disappointed with this place today.
