Flat Iron Kings Cross

We ended our London city trip with dinner at Flat Iron, and it was the perfect finale. The food was absolutely delicious and more than generous in portion size. We ordered two steaks along with two sides to share, and it was more than enough for us. To our surprise, when our food arrived, they even added an extra portion of freshly baked fries on the house. Such a lovely gesture! What truly elevated our experience was the outstanding service from our server, Cora. She was genuinely kind, attentive, and truly interested in making our evening special. She gave us excellent recommendations and even sent us off with an extra bag of popcorn and an additional token, knowing we were leaving later that evening. We will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely loved our visit to Flat Iron King’s Cross. The steak was cooked perfectly – juicy, tender and full of flavour – especially impressive served straight on the hot iron. Simple, high-quality cooking done right. The sides were spot on too, from the crisp salad to the comforting extras, and the sauces complemented the steak really well. A nice touch with the popcorn while waiting, and the menu is refreshingly straightforward.

First time at Flat Iron, and definitely not the last! The steak was delicious, cooked perfectly and each of the sides (spinach, mash, and aubergine) were stunning. We shared them between two of us, which I think works really well alongside the steak. The sauces (peppercorn and wild mushrooms) were nice, although not necessary to me as the steak was just so nice on its own. The free takeaway ice cream is a nice little touch. Overall very impressed with Flat Iron, and the prices were good too.

A train to catch? This location is perfect for travellers who are after an affordable, perfectly cooked steak, not to mention the sides. I ordered a wagyu daily special “Skirt steak done rare” and my partner ordered a “Flat Iron steak done medium”. My cut weighed 200g (same as flat iron) and practically fell apart, very very tender. Arguably the softest steak i’ve had in a long time and well priced at £23. The steak complements the sides of creamy mash and the crispy topping of the mac and cheese. Drizzle some peppercorn sauce over top and it turns into such a treat. A silver cleaver is awarded to each customer upon paying their bill to attain some complimentary ice cream which was a lovely suprise!

What an amazing experience. The staff is so friendly and they welcome you with some free popcorn and water with herbs. We have ordered their flat iron steak and it was amazing, the prices are also fare. I highly recommend trying the macaroni and cheese . What was also amazing was the speed. The food arrived 8m after we have ordered and the restaurant was full. At the end they give you a lovely ice cream from the house!.. It was a great experience and really worth visiting

One of the best steaks I've had in London - ordered the wagyu and the flat iron steak. Sides were amazing too. Very friendly staff as well. The free ice-cream at the end of the meal was a sweet perfect end to the entire experience. I will definitely come back here the next time I visit London.

We reserved a table for my daughter's birthday. She loves steak and it didn't disappoint. The waiter was really lovely and explained the menu to us. We all got flatirons with a selection of sides to share - chips, Mac and cheese and creamed spinach - all delicious. Loved the complimentary popcorn and impromptu birthday ice cream for my daughter. I would definitely recommend.

The food was amazing, we were so happy to find this little spot to eat like this in London. Everything was simply great, the service was extremely quick. The cocktails were delicious. And a plus, they gave us little knifes that we have to change for free ice creams in our way out! I absolutely love this place! 🫶🏻

I'm not a steak person, but I am a burger gal. And both food choices here wowed my mouth. The menu here is super simple, but the food quality makes up for it. My mouth is watering from remembering the experience here. The green chili cheeseburger was messy to consume. The shredded lettuce was more like a slaw with how saucy it was. Even looking at the burger, you can see a sheen on the bun as if oil was smeared everywhere. It was tough to truly taste the burger itself with all the flavors going on. The green chili and pickles worked so well with the juiciness of the burger though. The 35 day aged ribeye was super juicy, fatty, and delicious. I think there was a perfect ratio of fat and meat going on here. There was a nice chew with each bite. I'm not a steak person, but with it being aged for that long, there was a nice subtle flavor. The hubs thoroughly his pick very much. The creamed spinach was surprisingly good. I'm not sure if it would rate high on the healthy scale, but it was indeed creamy and tasty. Veggies is the last thing I'd pick, but this pick was great. We overheard a local taking their friends here so this seemed to be a good spot. There was even a line forming before the business opened so get here early before the lunch crowd comes. Everything we ate was a 5 and had such a wowing moment. The complimentary popcorn at the beginning and soft serve ice cream at the end made everything that much more perfect. I would definitely come back if I'm in London again.

Amazing steak! The Mac n cheese was delicious! Only bummer is the ice cream machine was broken The service was really good and ambiance was great!!

Cute date night spot! The steak was good and the sides we ordered (fries and mac n cheese) were solid. I will come try other sides next time! The cut butcher knife was a plus. Minus one star because I do think it's pricey one you add up side and sauce. Ice cream soft serve at the end was delicious!

Always steak...that's what we want! Raw is best, with rodias beer, spinach, perfect! Service is so so, all the staff are smiling and respond fast, but I don't know why they chatting so much!.... small space but decorated elegant.

*EXPERIENCE: We got here around 8pm for dinner and was surprised to be seated immediately without a wait! From host to waitress to server, everyone was super friendly. *FOOD: the flat iron steak is obviously a must-get item here! We also got a side of truffle mash potatoes and it was amazing. The cocktails are also very unique and refreshing. At the end of the meal, you can even get some free ice cream! Overall a great bang-for buck restaurant!

AMAZE!!! the food, the atmosphere amazing!!! we had natalia as our servers and she was so attentive and helpful! our food came out so quickly and was beyond delicious. steak cooked perfectly and all the sides just incredible! would HIGHLY recommend!!!!!

Food 10/10 The salmon was superb and the katsu curry was amazing. Food is fresh! Service 10/10 We came in towards closing time and they still let us order and provided amazing service Ambiance 9/10 The place is a little small but I think that is normal for Barcelona. The tables a little too close to each other but it is to be expected.

We are staying in London 2 days before heading home. We came back from a long day of site seeing. We looked for a place to eat close by and not too expensive and this hit the spot. Food was awesome and ice cream was delicious. Will stop here next time we are in London.

The steak at flat iron has been the best food I've enjoyed since visiting England and something I was craving throughout my trip. Following a bad day of major train delays and ultimately missing my flight to Paris we visited this location and they turned our night around by being friendly and even comping our drinks which was a wonderful surprise after a rough 6 hours! If I ever come back to England I hope to visit another flat iron whether that's in London or elsewhere!

So Good!! There were 4 of us 3 got the flat iron steak and 1 the burger. The burger was delicious!!! The steak was also very good only complaint is when you order medium it is rare and I won't eat that. The sides we got were the garlic mash, very good, fries, always good and the aubergine best side we had. We had 3 different favorite sauces the peppercorn, Bernaise and the mushroom. Only complaint is the cooking of the steak, free ice cream was amazing.

This place is amazing! They give you popcorn to start and the menu is super simple. I ordered my flat iron steak medium rare and it was delightful with the wild mushroom sauce. The creamed spinach was my favorite side followed by the fries. At the end of the meal they give you a voucher to exchange for a cone of tahitian vanilla soft serve ice cream. So delicious! Highly recommended.

This is my ideal steak place! I wish we had a place like this at home when I'm craving steak, so I always try to come when I am visiting. Gluten free options. Their steak is so tender, and I get the cheapest flat iron one! This location doesn't (anymore?) serve with greens and you have to order chips separately which is a bummer but I guess it reduces temptation if you just came for the steak! My steak was a little overcooked but it was still soooo tender. And then they give you free ice cream at the end by giving you a cute little token.

The steak was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. The peppercorn and bernaise sauces were also very good and complemented the steak. The complementary popcorn was a nice touch. The free ice cream at the end was the best flavored vanilla ice cream. Such a unique and creamy taste. The restaurant has a nice layout, however, I wish there were less stools and more chairs for comfort. Would highly recommend!

First night in London and just picked this gem. Amazing chips (fries) that melt in your mouth. I enjoyed with the chili mayo dipping sauce. My wife had the truffle Mac and cheese side and it was "the best ever." Steak and burger were good. Service was attentive, particularly by UK standards.

I ate here for the first time recently, and I have to say, even as someone who doesn't enjoy steaks too much, I loved it. From the rustic vibes, to the simple yet flavorful menu, to the fresh popcorn, this place really rocks! They, for the most part, are a steak restaurant but I ordered a large cauliflower and it was the best dish I've had in a month or so, and my friends who got the steak also seemed to have similar praise for their dishes. Great drinks as well, plus some solid ice cream for dessert. Plus prices were pretty reasonable for this area of London (a steak was only 12 pounds!). Overall a great experience, and I recommend you stop by if your in the kings cross area.

Was so amazing, steak was great, bone marrow mashed potatoes were great, truffle Mac n cheese was great. Wished I lived closer to one, so I could visit more often

Delicious and great price. Ordered the flat iron steak and it was perfect. Side dishes were all great as welll.

The food was very tasty and well-presented but lacking in quantity. I'm not a big person and normally cannot eat an entire meal in a restaurant (unless it's from the child's or lunch menu), but I left hungry that night. It was quite dark at our table and I had trouble reading the minimalist menu. Our fabulous server was there to help though. The food came out promptly (although it took awhile to get served). Bottom line: what food I had was yummy and arrived in a timely manner. Lack of choice and quantity for price left me not wanting to return.

We came across this place after a long day of travel and an over priced, crappy lunch at our near by hotel. We wandered all around the neighborhood looking for something satisfying and were delighted at the thoughtfully sourced and lovingly prepared food! The steak and salad and wine were delicious. Not too much to waste but enough to leave satisfied. I would highly recommend (we are from LA and spoiled with wonderful food from around the world)! Price, flavor, ambiance, service, was all great! Why not 5 stars? 5 is for next level mind blowing. This place is super solid. We will be back.

Only two days in London around the Kings Cross - St Pancras area. Found this the first night and was amazed. Not only a terrific special (ribeye), but I discovered beef dripping popcorn served to all customers and an ice cream for dessert. Their Tempranillo was also very tasty, enough that I asked to take a picture of the bottle. Well, it was good enough to go back a second time for an encore. Sold out of the special, I took their Scottish Bavette, and while the ribeye was better, this was still Olympic level of steak. More impressively, the server remembered everything from the night before, and (I suspect, though don't know) the owner or manager stopped by and asked whether it was deja vu. Everything was five star, without the pomp and over the top feel. They know their steaks, wine, and how to treat a customer. Highly recommend!

We loved Flat Iron!! Super helpful about my gluten intolerance and the food was SO good. Staff was super nice. 10/10 would recommend and would return!
