After checking out the Lake Geneva Farmer's Market, I let my boyfriend pick where to eat, and he picked Flat Iron Tap. Since it wasn't busy, we had the option to sit at the bar or at a hightop. For drinks, my boyfriend had #16: Foggy Geezer. Amanda allowed me to sample their selection of ciders and sours. I liked all three of them: #3: First Press (Ciderboys Cider Co), #6: Blueberry Blast (Mckenzie's Hard Cider), #13: Kohl's Cash millionaire (Young Blood Beer Co). However, I went with #3: First Press (Ciderboys Cider Co), which was smooth, crisp, fresh, sweet, tart, and dry. For appetizers, we shared an order of Hand Battered Cheese Curds, which consisted of Hill Valley Dairy cheese curds seasoned cajun style, beer battered, fried in burger grease, and served with ranch dressing. I've never seen cheese curds this big. It filled us up. Both of us were in the mood for burgers. My boyfriend enjoyed The CheeseHead, which consisted of beef patty, cheddar, and gouda on a toasted brioche bun, served with mixed greens as well as tomato and red onion on the side.
The John Daly was kind of disappointing. It consisted of beef, whiskey gouda cheese sauce, beer battered onion rings, and moonshine BBQ sauce. The beef patty was charred and burnt, and the onions were still raw. I'd return for their selection on tap and cheese curds!
