"This gourmet gastropub is perpetually packed with hungry locals and visitors lured by over-the-top burger and sandwich creations like the Graceland — a massive pile of six-hour hickory-smoked pulled pork smothered in Carolina barbecue sauce and fried onion strings. It’s also a solid spot for beers, tequila flights, and more." - Naomi Waxman

It’s a tiny restaurant but it’s so well decorated and the space is so thought out. Awesome atmosphere. The food was incredible. Best burger I’ve ever had in my LIFE. The pretzel bun was phenomenal. They were very accommodating to my dairy allergy which was wonderful.

The food was delicious! Very fresh and crazy good. It was a very busy place so it's popular. I had the Flat Mac burger on a gluten free bun with their homemade coleslaw. The coleslaw is outstanding as well! My husband had the Plain Jane Burger with the chips that are homemade too. And he got a side of fries for us to share. They are awesome as well!

Michelle,Ashley, and Matt the cook were great people that are a part of the staff here made it a warm and welcoming experience. They have live music on some days, which was great. The food was amazing. My burger was juicy and flavorful. I also had the cheese curds that lived up to the dairy land name. My friend had the clucker chicken sandwich. We went here twice and she ordered it both times that’s how good it was. I can’t wait to go back!

Kat Higgins

Google
Amazing food, fresh and delicious! Homemade ranch dressing for dipping fries. Can't wait to go back and try another burger and their chicken as well.

Christina Asetamy

Google
It's one of the best burgers around! We had the brie appetizer, which was melty and delicious. I had the burger with gouda and cheddar with fries. The meat was cooked perfectly and super tasty. All their beef is grass fed. The fries looked hand cut and had a great seasoning on them. The place is busy, busy! It's a small place, so it does get tight.

I recently visited the Flat Iron Tap at 150 Center St #2007, in Lake Geneva, WI. A real nice bar with a great look inside. My server suggested the sweet and spicy clacker sandwich. It came out timely and was very tasty. A good choice. A good variety of beer as well. It's a place I would definitely go back to. The only issue is the parking and everywhere in the city is metered. Nothing to do with Flat Iron. Just venting.

Been here 6 times now over the past few years, it’s awesome. Great sandwiches, great tap list great staff, it’s all great!

Google
This place never fails us. Delicious food, best cheese curds in the city, great service, awesome drinks, and cool music! Thanks again for an awesome time!

Yelp
My husband and I recently stopped by after seeing some great reviews on Yelp. The place has a small and cozy vibe with a really cool dark aesthetic. Even on a chilly Saturday in January, it was buzzing with people! We did have to wait about 25 minutes for a table, but that was totally fine with us (though I can only imagine how busy it gets during peak season!). Once we were seated, we kicked things off with two spotted cows and some delicious cheese curds to get our taste buds going--definitely a 10/10! My husband chose the Plane Jane, while I went for the Kurt-Astrophe. Let me tell you, the burgers are hand-packed and bursting with flavor, so be ready for some extra napkins because they are juicy and so-delicious! We really enjoyed our experience and can't wait to come back for another amazing burger.

Michelle A.

Yelp
This place is fun and this drink is amazing it's called Blueberry Muffin Tini The food is good and the service is great It's a busy place so make your reservations and come in for a good time!!!

Yelp
Survived tornadoes here. In town for a work conference on a spring weeknight, this was the best of the choices open at what seemed like a reasonable hour of 7-8pm! We sat at a two top table. The back door was open a few feet behind me. It didn't take long before tornado sirens were going off. I said to my friend as I kept noticing the service staff heading downstairs, "There are stairs to a basement right behind you and I'm not going out in this to find our hotel." So in the spirit of spending time, and what I order any time I see it on a menu (because I also buy it at the grocery and make it at home), is the Bavarian pretzel from Milwaukee Pretzel Company. It was prepared properly, crispy and salty on the outside with a soft interior. Flat Iron Tap bills itself as having Lake Geneva's best gourmet burgers. This is a scratch kitchen so be prepared for big, beefy, juicy burgers. All the types and toppings available. Service was prompt and friendly. I do wonder if we would have been asked to exit if we had not exited. Other customers weren't really leaving either as closing time approached. Flat Iron Tap stands out in my memory in Lake Geneva as much for riding out the storms that had been touching down around Lake Geneva as we were there as for its food. I would return here in the future to have another pretzel and burger in its casual, low key environment.

Yelp
Flat Iron Tap is one of our favorite spots in town. We love the fact that they don't use seed oils and that they have healthy options on the menu. I HIGHLY recommend their cauliflower bites as an appetizer! Just a heads up this place fills up fast on the weekends! This restaurant has a nice vibe and we've always had nice servers.

Amber B.

Yelp
Service was great!! Plain Jane Burger was mediocre. Big patty. Very dry. Loved the pickles. Greens fresh. Fries were good.

Jim T.

Yelp
The food and service was fantastic. Great small bar feel. Beer choices are many! Says I need more characters.

Melissa L.

Yelp
This place was PACKED on a Friday night. We put our name in and had to wait about 45 minutes, but it was worth it!! It was all decked out for Halloween, which was a very fun atmosphere. 10/10 recommend trying the burgers (locally sourced), the cheese curds (a lot of cheese but so light and fluffy), and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. All were wonderful! It is rare to find a "farm to table" bar, but here we are! It's a small space and a hot spot in town, but the crowds prove how great it was. Come for good food and a lively bar ambiance!

Janelle P.

Yelp
The cheese curds here are hands down the cheesiest! We're talking cheese pull every time you dip a curd in sauce. This small spot feels like a local hang. Seating is limited, so expect a wait during busy hours. While it offers classic bar food, which I'll be the first to admit isn't my usual go-to, the prices were surprisingly steep. With that being said, I did find the atmosphere to be unique (not touristy), service was solid, and the cheese curds are heavenly.

Nate C.

Yelp
The food was delicious. There were plenty of people working that made the service great. Kind of a little hole in the wall place that makes it feel like a really neat place! Highly recommend!

Briana L.

Yelp
Fantastic casual burger and bar joint in Lake Geneva! Loved the jazz duo! - Don't skip the appetizers! Some of the best softest cheese curds I've ever had especially with their house made ranch! - Brussels sprouts were perfectly crispy with thick cut bacon and tasty Korean sauce - hefty burgers with fun toppings. Such soft fresh bread! Note that the french fries are seasoned and cumin is a heavy flavor. One person in our group wasn't a fan and the server swapped out plain french fries for no charge. Our server was amazing! She brought her appetizers out super quickly because she realized how hungry our group was. She had great recommendations & we never felt rushed. Def worth the wait for a table!

Yelp
This place is TINY. A bar maybe 10 tables total plus 3 outside. Very cramped. The food was decent but I think the menu is too extensive with really mostly burgers on it. Partner and I were really hungry, but with so many choices it made it hard to choose and I think we both ended up disappointed. I wanted a burger but also wanted the Brussel sprouts and the cheese curds and thanks to the price couldn't do all 3. But one burger claimed to have the cheese curds on it so I thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone. It wasn't until we ate all the Brussel sprouts and a few bites into the burger that I realized there was nothing resembling cheese curds on the burger. So either they made a mistake or they lied. Eh whatever. The food was enjoyable enough and I was ready to gtfo of there just to stop feeling servers squeeze between the bar patrons and the table patrons. The bathroom, although single occupancy, was the most spacious part of the place and kept very clean. I likely wouldn't return, but I know their success will continue with those who like the now-cookie-cutter trendy burger Gastropub vibe.

Heather M.

Yelp
I went here over the winter to see the ice sculptures in Lake Geneva. I like the fact it's off the beaten path and not touristy but still very busy nonetheless. While it is a bit cozy in there everything was fantastic from start to finish and definitely worth the wait! The cheese curds were amazing, the cheeseburger was fantastic and my vodka Lemonade and my friend's vanilla beer were both be good. The bartender was also very attentive. I will definitely back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
We put our name down at this popular spot in downtown Geneva on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up waiting an hour but had a nice time waiting at a brewery nearby. Once seated, the interior is certainly deceiving as it seems just like an overly crowded dive bar with interesting 2000s music choices. However, the locally sourced and crafted food was the main event. There's a chalkboard that shows where all the meat comes from which is cool! I had the strawberry margarita and Paloma with my meal as well, and these were both great. My boyfriend ordered a cocktail from the craft cocktail menu that came in a can, which was disappointing and funny to see everyone's reaction. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were deliciously sweet in a sauce and a large portion. I shared the ahi tuna salad and the salmon cuddy. Both were delicious and huge! Both the chips and fries side were also tasty with a nice seasoning. Everything was delicious and would definitely recommend. Service was a bit off because of how crowded it was and the wait was long but worth it!

Alexa R.

Yelp
I can't say enough nice things about this wonderful little gem. While not a very big place (so get here early, late or be prepared to wait) there's so much packed in that I could see myself coming here for every meal when I'm in Lake Geneva. The whiskey, beer and tequila selection is phenomenal. Beer options were outstanding! The food was wonderful with all the right balance in flavor. I truly can't wait to come back!

Cynthia B.

Yelp
We had lunch at Flat Iron Tap twice while in Lake Geneva for a weekend trip. Expansive menu with lots of options. It was super busy both times, but we managed to get a table. My husband really enjoyed the wings. We got those twice while in town. We also LOVED the salmon flatbread sandwich. It was so delicious. Michelle and Mark were awesome! Great food and a definite must while in the area!!

Jeannette A.

Yelp
Was in town for the weekend and craving some cheese curds, so i swung by and grabbed a pick-up order. Cute little place in he downtown area. Street parking available, but first come, first serve. Curds were delicious, at first I would have preferred ranch to dip but the dill sauce they had was good. Mozzarella sticks didn't really transport well, chewy. Bet they would be better if you sat in with a beer :).

Kristin S.

Yelp
Had the chefs special chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Looks like a bar but with gourmet food!

Travis L.

Yelp
The cheese curds and brussel sprouts are very good, I recommend them. I had the Thai's Up Chicken sandwich and it was good, not great. We sat outside, but the service seemed slower (maybe because we were outside?) The fries are good, the house made chips are ok at best, and really you should get the fries instead.

Jen J.

Yelp
Did a day trip to lake Geneva this weekend and was able to stop at flat iron tap. I saw this place on tik tok and it also had stellar reviews on Yelp and I now understand why! The food was fantastic! They use all products from Wisconsin and the chicken and beef they use is all super high quality! I got an ahi tuna salad which was fantastic but their burgers looked amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. It was a little slow to get our food but was also very busy so it was understandable. They don't have outdoor seating really and their inside is small so if you have a large group expect to wait. I am definitely adding this on the list of places to go back to!

Rich G.

Yelp
The Flat Iron Tap goes far beyond beer! The atmosphere is always electric and the customer service is second to none! All the food is amazing too, no matter what I order I have been completely satisfied and the full bar does not disappoint. I would highly recommend you make your way there and try something off their incredible menu.

Alison Z.

Yelp
A friend was going to Lake Geneva and was asking me for dining suggestions. I was looking at my Lake Geneva bookmark and didn't notice Flat Iron Tap had a review from me!! Sooooo, here we go!! The designer had a wonderful attention to detail! I loved the creativity to showcase iron work. Very cool! We loved our dinner I wish I remembered what we ordered, BUT I did take a picture!! My husband always sighs before we eat, because he knows there will be a picture!! Bookmark this restaurant!!

Kelsey A.

Yelp
Shockingly good bar food in a fun, eclectic, local staple. The fried brussel sprouts, chips and guacamole, and cauliflower bites were great. The burgers are legendary.

Emily M.

Yelp
Always my favorite place to come when I'm in LG and craving a burger! Great service and always a cozy vibe! Love it here!

Devin W.

Yelp
Server was great and attentive. But if you are looking for a restaurant, there are some good burgers here but if you are vegetarian looking for somewhere to eat, in my experience with the black bean burger it was not terrible but not great either. Maybe it's just my taste buds , but overall I would recommend to try/go for cocktails , other food and atmosphere. The chef/cook seemed very nice , and probably the meat burgers are fantastic but the vegetarian burgers are not. Price for meal :$30.11 for black bean burger and one drink

Food M.

Yelp
I've been the food distance for 50 years and just retired. I've had burgers and fries for long long time. As far as the burgers, probably the juiciest burger I ever had. My wife had the bison burger, and it was great The best was their fresh cut 1/4 inch homemade fries. Never have I had thick and tasty fries anywhere. And trust me I've been around. Of places go with one cut shoe strings that come out cold overcooked and tasteless. These fries substance to them!!!!

Shelley P.

Yelp
Service is awesome. Attentive, fast but so laid back. Sat at the bar sports room n tv for a Saturday afternoon. Best cheese curds I've had in Wisconsin!! Nice music. Super busy when we arrived around 3:15pm early November. Small quaint place, come grab a seat if you can!

Kristianne B.

Yelp
Small restaurant located close to the lake. Stopped by here for lunch. The food was delicious. We ended up ordering the cheesehead burger and the flat iron patty melt. Both were very good. Cheese curds were also good and the ranch was different but still pretty good. Service was ok. I felt like there was only one waitress which was also the host and bartender. Seem kinda busy for lunch for her to do everything. But overall, everything was good.

Penny L.

Yelp
We no longer patron here. The male manager is beyond rude. They messed up our to-go order and when we called to have them to tell them what happened he screamed and fought with me on the phone for 10 minutes before finally agreeing to remake the food. What he actually did was have them microwave the improper food and also dump a whole salt shaker into it. It was beyond inedible. We have people with health issues and because of this he made them so terribly ill they were sick and vomiting for over a week. We called the next day to speak to another manager who seemed to care but didn't seem interested in even reprimanding him for the treatment of customers. We used to go there once a week and no longer have any trust or respect for this establishment. It's a real shame too because their food was always good but knowing you have people with health issues and deliberately sabotaging food to try and cause them harm is unforgivable. If he didn't want to remake the food he easily could have offered us a refund as we would have returned the food regardless. Then for the main manager to not even reprimand him and the chefs for the behavior is also unforgivable; let someone else end up in a hospital for this and them get sued and maybe they'll have a little more respect and compassion for their patrons.

Jamie Lee B.

Yelp
Best tap place I've ever been to! It was super crowded and busy but I understand why now. We got cheese curds & burgers! Was a definite hit. We didn't try any drinks but the atmosphere and food was amazing.

Scott S.

Yelp
On a visit to Lake Geneva, we heard good things about Flat Iron Tap and decided to go there for lunch a few days ago while spending a day trip to the area. It's a tiny local tavern-style place with tables outside in front along the street and some tables and booths inside. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun while being chill with darker lighting. The music was great for us as it was late 70's, 80's and early 90's rock and some pop. Our server Amanda was very attentive and pleasant, giving us great service and good conversation. They had a nice variety of craft beers on tap including a vanilla ale from one of my favorite craft breweries, Alltech from Lexington, KY. Outstanding brew! We had their cheese curds as an appetizer and were thrilled with them. They were battered and fried. Although they were rather large, they were light and tasty. We cleared the plate with abandon. My wife had the Van Helsing Burger and I had the Old Mutton (ground lamb). Both were excellent. We opted for their homemade fries and potato chips which were very generous and tasty. Take a look at their menu for more details. I also appreciated their homemade pickles which were lightly pickled. They offset the big bold burgers. All in all, this place is rather new to the scene and is a great alternative to some of the other staples in the area. I'm sure on the weekends its got to be slammed. So when you go there you may need to have a backup plan if you can't handle the wait time. Just do us all a favor and don't discount them if you show up on a busy day during busy times for dining. They are popular for good reason.

Kaleb G.

Yelp
Have eaten here a few times during work trips to Lake Geneva. Food is always excellent while offering some twists on standard recipes. They also have a very well rounded craft beer menu. Service has always been on par. Smallish inside but nice bar and nice ambiance.

Pedro P.

Yelp
What can I say, I've been coming to this place for the past 5 years the place is a great spot, during the peak months it's always packed , it's lovely to dine off season,, the staff is above par.

Bob K.

Yelp
Was told to check this restaurant out when in the area! Definitely worth the trip. Food was outstanding! Great menu, well prepared and unique. Service was excellent. I recommend you stop in when you are in Lake Geneva!

Craig B.

Yelp
Amazing bison burger, quality beer selection, friendly bartender! Just wish I would have asked the waitress for her number. kidding, not kidding ‍

Jen C.

Yelp
Food was delicious sat at the bar ordered food and drinks with Mark who was very friendly and had great recommendations for burgers! Highly recommend cute place

Marie B.

Yelp
Food is always fresh and delicious. A must in Lake Geneva. If you love Brussels sprouts you will love theirs.

Douglas E.

Yelp
Couldn't have picked a better spot for a beer and burger! Mark the bartender/waiter was outstanding.

Laura N.

Yelp
The variety of beer is amazing, or not all IPA, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend stopping in on a fall Saturday afternoon for a beer and lunch!

Deb L.

Yelp
After finishing the 22 mile walk around Geneva Lake, we celebrated with drinks and apps at Flat Iron. Can I just say Brie!!! Holy moly, it was delicious. Cauliflower bites were a bit tangy and delicious. The beer selection is amazing.

Jon F.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I had the WisconSinner burger and cheese curds for an appetizer. They were both amazing. We went fairly early on a Friday night, around 5:30pm and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. However, it started to get very busy. There was about a three foot space between the table and the barstools at the bar. People were getting packed in like sardines and continuously brushing against us and our table as it's a small space and everyone had to go by us to get in and out. If it wasn't for that it'd have been a great time, but the service was decent and the food was excellent.

Hannah F.

Yelp
Best chicken sandwich in Lake Geneva. Great beer selection. In walking distance to everything else.

Sydney C.

Yelp
I would drive from Chicago for the lamb burger here. Be here when they open. Bring my own fork and knife.

Laura S.

Yelp
Second time here. Not sure why it's taken us so long to come back. I love this this place! And we got the same seat in the window. The service is great ... keep it up! The burgers were delicious, shoe string French fries were wonderful. The blood orange Moscow mule was heavenly. Thank you to all for keeping it real! Real good, real welcoming, real

Bessy T.

Yelp
Really amazing farm to table options with awesome beer flights + a huge burger menu Make sure to get the cheese curds. They are orange and freshly fried. SUPER cheesey (notice the cheese pull) They ran out of wings this time around

Samantha B.

Yelp
Service was spectacular. They had live music which was really nice. Food was absolutely fantastic. Best I've had so far in lake Geneva. I'll definitely return.

Kelly K.

Yelp
Really really great food in downtown Lake Geneva! It's not a big place but worth the wait. Our server was great and the food was super good. Great beer menu and we love the partnership with local farmers for the best ingredients - it absolutely shows in the food. We had cheese curds for an appetizer (of course when in WI) and were happy to see they were actually house made, not just frozen drop & fry. My husband went with The Van Helsing burger and absolutely loved it - not overly garlicky as the description might sound. I went outside my wheelhouse and tried The Old Mutton, which is a lamb burger. I'm only mad at myself for not having enough room to finish every bite, the flavor was outstanding ! My husband is also picky about his Old Fashioned, so when he takes a pic, it must be good! Most importantly - any place that is good to our daughter is a place we will always return to. I would not earmark this place as "GREAT for kids," just based on the size/setup, but they won't say no to a family and offer a kids menu. Our server was super attentive and friendly to her, which we appreciate always. And even though he's not technically a part of the staff, the live musician playing made sure to play a special song that he thought she might like at the end of the night... so to any staff reading this please pass along our thanks again to him, it was so thoughtful. Not sure when we will return to Lake Geneva, but this place will be at the top of our list for places to eat when we do!

Samantha L.

Yelp
After checking out the Lake Geneva Farmer's Market, I let my boyfriend pick where to eat, and he picked Flat Iron Tap. Since it wasn't busy, we had the option to sit at the bar or at a hightop. For drinks, my boyfriend had #16: Foggy Geezer. Amanda allowed me to sample their selection of ciders and sours. I liked all three of them: #3: First Press (Ciderboys Cider Co), #6: Blueberry Blast (Mckenzie's Hard Cider), #13: Kohl's Cash millionaire (Young Blood Beer Co). However, I went with #3: First Press (Ciderboys Cider Co), which was smooth, crisp, fresh, sweet, tart, and dry. For appetizers, we shared an order of Hand Battered Cheese Curds, which consisted of Hill Valley Dairy cheese curds seasoned cajun style, beer battered, fried in burger grease, and served with ranch dressing. I've never seen cheese curds this big. It filled us up. Both of us were in the mood for burgers. My boyfriend enjoyed The CheeseHead, which consisted of beef patty, cheddar, and gouda on a toasted brioche bun, served with mixed greens as well as tomato and red onion on the side. The John Daly was kind of disappointing. It consisted of beef, whiskey gouda cheese sauce, beer battered onion rings, and moonshine BBQ sauce. The beef patty was charred and burnt, and the onions were still raw. I'd return for their selection on tap and cheese curds!

Adrianne K.

Yelp
The food was BOMB! I had the Van Helsig, Garlic burger, OMG! DELICIOUS! Best burger definitely fresh meat, seasoned to perfection! We also had a Patty Melt which was also delicious! Nice beer list as well. Service was great, had 2 kiddos with us and the waitress was very sweet! Atmosphere was as expected, the only thing was no air-conditioning when we were there and it was pretty warm inside. Otherwise I can't wait to go back and try something else!

Lauren L.

Yelp
We came on a Tuesday evening and waited about 15 minutes to get a table. It was pretty busy, which is a testament to how many people love it! We sat inside and it was fairly loud, but it's to be expected at this type of bar. We ordered the Brussel sprout appetizer to start and they were so good. We finished them super quickly and wanted to lick the plate. For dinner I got the Kurt-tastrophe Burger. It was super juicy, but could have had some more flavor. I upgraded for the fries and it was a huge portion (almost too big) and they needed some salt, but they were cut nice and thin. My partner got the Wisconsinner Burger. He said it was a bit dry, so he added a side of bbq sauce and loved it. I ordered the strawberry cider which was some of the best fruit cider I've had. It wasn't fake strawberry tasting at all. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and would go again!
