NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Flat Out Burger is very appropriately named—the wagyu smashburger spot in Bed-Stuy only has a few things on their menu. There’s a $7 single with grilled onions, american cheese, sauce, and pickles, and a  $10 double. They also sell single and double quarter pounders, and some loaded fries." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Google
Nice staff and great food. After more trips than I’d like to admit, I’ve made my way around the menu, and it feels like every few weeks I have a new favorite! Right now it’s the Quarter Pounder, but the loaded fries were my first love, so I always have to shout them out... yum! Whether I walk in or call ahead, the food is always ready quickly, which is one of my favorite parts. It’s become one of those spots I recommend to anyone looking for something quick, consistent and delicious. One question: do you still have the turkey burger? That one was awesome, but I didn’t see it on the menu board last time I was there.

Google
Flat Out Burger feels like a community staple. It’s a tasty smash burger with a house sauce that really makes the entire burger. Paul, the owner, is a super nice guy and passionate about the restaurant. The menu is very affordable, $7 for a single patty classic burger. The most expensive menu item are the veggie loaded fries for $14.50. My vegetarian friends also rave about their veggie burgers and vegetarian friendly options. I usually get take out from here because the only option for seating are four bar stools. It’s a great and delicious spot to enjoy a smash burger.

Google
Flat Out Burger really stands out from other smash burger establishments. You can taste the quality in everything they use, from the great beef to the locally made pickles that add such good flavor. The buttery brioche bun is a big step up from the usual smash burger. It’s soft, holds up well, and ties everything together. You can feel that they’re a true community business. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into this concept, and you can see the pride in the details. Overall, a really solid spot.

Google
My new favorite place for a quick bite! Trendy spot with an absolutely knockout smash burger. The star of the show was the quarter pounder, 10/10! Will definitely be back soon.

Finally, a legit old-school, no-frills smash burger spot in Bed-Stuy with reasonable prices and a killer plant-based option! I went for the double VEG aka Beyond Meat burger with cheese ($12.5), plus a side of fries ($5), and my plant-based heart (and stomach) was instantly won over. This thing was hefty, juicy, and packed with flavor from the perfectly grilled bun to the savory patty and tangy pickles (I might personally do extra pickles myself next time around). It’s exactly the kind of burger I’ve been craving in the neighborhood. Finally! And while I’m all about that plant-based life, I’ve got no doubt their meat options are just as fire. The spot itself is minimalist but stylishly decorated (With a window+wall leaner/ledge setup with room for 3-4 standing adult. Here's to hoping for curb side tables in the future), with a clean, no-nonsense vibe. The staff is super friendly, and my order came out fast, hot, and flawless. Bottom line? If you like your burgers done right, thick and positively greasy, these guys make it look easy. Will be back ASAP.

Google
Paulie, the owner, is MAD cool. Please support this business. Hawa is super nice, she greeted us upon entering and was super helpful and attentive to our order. She's beautiful with a great smile and is the best presence to have for customers coming in As some individuals in thread have mentioned, this is a no frills, no bullshit burger joint with vegan options for my vegan peoples. Its a cozy restaurant. Some seating on counter+stools layout. Its well ventilated, bright and like a oasis in deep space, when you want a burger late at night, its a oasis from dark brooklyn. Its like a burger safe room. The loaded fries were delicious. Theres enough seasoning and sauce to justify the amount. The burger is sufficiently greasy and full of flavor. Overall a great spot. Probably my #1 in brooklyn.

Google
This place is sooooo good! My friends and I stopped by late this weekend. Not only were the burgers really good, but the service was great. The people working were super nice to us. Also, the prices are more than fair given the quality. All in all, this is my new go to burger spot for late night outings in the city.

Google
A double classic cheeseburger with fries and a sprite. $21.73. My son said it tastes good but I feel like it not fulling . Like you can get more fries anywhere else for $4.50

Yelp
Amazing place and welcome addition to the neighborhood. I've been several times but today was doing yard work all morning looking forward to noon opening. They were doing some photos for delivery apps so weren't open quite yet. Talked to who happened to be the owner outside. He apologized for the delay, went in and got me an order while shoot was going on. He didn't have to do this but it was very appreciated. Beyond all of that the burgers and fries are phenomenal. Definitely rooting for this place.

Yelp
Happy for this spot to have opened up! Last night, my partner and I ordered delivery from here of two Classic Double Smash Burgers which come with Signature Flat Out Sauce, Yellow American Cheese, Diced Grilled Onions and Pickles on a Soft Brioche Bun. The Flat Out Sauce was yummy and if I ordered fries, I'd definitely want to dip them in this. We thought that these were great! The meat was cooked well and there were plenty of toppings, however, they were a bit on the greasier side. We also ordered a bag of Utz Jalepeño chips, but they gave us Spicy Utz instead. I'd love to try their Veggie and Spicy burgers. We'll likely order from here again!

Yelp
I switched up my walking route today and was rewarded by the open doors (and window) of Flat Out Burger. So as any normal person would do, I shuffled my lunch plans, walked in, and ordered a burger! I was welcomed in by Anthony, who informed me that they've been open for about a week. He gave me the run down about the menu (the veggie burger is Beyond Meat) and plans for future items (like a turkey burger). On a first try I'd usually get a regular burger, but in keeping with the spirit of the day I switched up and ordered a single Spicy patty to go and a Mexican Sprite. The Spicy burger comes with their house spicy sauce, sliced jalapenos, onion, and no pickles. I believe the bun was potato bread. I really enjoyed the crunch of the jalapenos. They were definitely fresh and not soggy or spooned out of a jar. The spice level was pleasant but not overwhelming. The onion also wasn't overpowering. And for $8, I'm definitely happy with my choice. Flat Out Burger is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Very often the desire for a regular burger strikes and there's no dedicated burger joint to serve that purpose. The location is solid and I think they'll do well here.

Yelp
Tried them out for lunch. Spot is cute with limited seating. Love the artwork. I got the spicy single patty burger and fries. About $13. Took less than 10 minutes to receive my order. Simple burger and fries. Not sure what it was but something was missing to me. I may try them again for the spicy loaded fries.

Yelp
I ordered Flat Out Burger for delivery. I had the double cheese burger, fries, and a side of flat out sauce. The burger was meaty, greasy, and delicious; the fries hot, crispy, and plentiful. Their flat out sauce, to me, is super similar to in n out spread, and I am a big fan! I will definitely order from here again and would suggest giving it a try!

Yelp
On a whim I hit up Flat out burger, and I'm glad I did. Went for the smash burger single. Original and Spicy. Both were decent. The sauce was okay. I'd probably skip the sauce next time and definitely go for the spicy variant again. Service attentive and welcoming. All said I'm done, this is one of the few nice burger spots open late.

Yelp
amazing burgers and coffee! NOT expensive and quality burgers! The service is friendly and place super clean!

Yelp
This hidden is by far one of the best newcomers in Smashburger in New York City. Don't pass this one up. Be sure to try the classic spicy.

Yelp
Amazing foodie experience, beautiful modern and clean. So refreshing to be welcomed with a smile and then served some true Brooklyn smash burgers and the Mozzy chopped cheese is a must. Adding to my list of favs and taking a ride to get my FLATOUT fix. Service was amazing and friendly.

Yelp
Stopped by here after a walk around the neighborhood, moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was impressively fast and perfect for a quick bite without sacrificing quality. But the real star? The burgers. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, each bite was better than the last. Cannot wait for delivery options!
