Flatiron Review - East Atlanta Village - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Whether you’re in the mood for day-drinking or late-night “brewsing,” Flatiron is a chill little neighborhood bar where you can get a reliably good beer. Hit it for lunch or an early dinner, and you’ll be one of only a few folks sitting by the windows watching runners zip by on the sidewalk. It’s ballsy to tout your own food as famous, but “Our Famous Chicken Egg Rolls” earn the label, expertly fusing traditional chicken salad and Asian flavors. Things ramp up at night, when it’s not unusual to see people spilling out of the tiny wood-paneled interior and hanging out on the sidewalk. If you can’t find a spot, head upstairs to The Trophy Room, which houses an additional bar, darts, and a pool table, and order the jalapeno chili mac and cheese bowl from the late-night menu." - Juli Horsford

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY—- Lived here for a year and I’m moving out now but let me start off by saying the location is great and is in close proximity to everything in downtown and the building is in good shape for its age but that’s all the positives I have. There is a foul odor coming from the building and the plumbing at random times that comes and goes. It use to be a hotel so there is not much storage in the units and you can get a small and I mean small cage downstairs for storage but it’s $50 a month for it. All the fees that are included are ridiculous. Our base rent is $1,500 for a 2 bedroom but after fees and everything added I pay $1,700 a month for the apartment. The internet is through Quantum fiber and it’s only 200 MBPS basic speeds that’s $50 a month, a parking spot is $50 a month and the tiny storage locker is $50 a month so $150 in fees for things. They have a really small dog pad outside the apartments in front of dirty birds and EVERYONE in downtown Omaha uses it even though hotel flatiron advertises this as theirs it’s open to the public and no one ever maintains it. Trash is constantly overflowing and there is dog poop everywhere and it takes MONTHS for someone to finally clean it. The valet trash service company they use is a joke. If you have more than 2 trash bags they won’t take it. If you use a small grocery bag they won’t take it, if the second trash bags is not on top of the bin they won’t take it. The apartments talk about giving fines to residents who leave their trash out after the pick up time and there is a resident who leaves it out all week with no fines and no notice to put it back inside the unit. The elevator was broken for about a month and a half and we didn’t start getting updates until about 3 weeks of it broken. And the last and biggest complaint is the homeless people. There is a door across the from courthouse and the first door is just opened and not locked the second door is key fob entry. During the winter homeless people sleep there every night and the apartments do nothing but put up a “no trespassing” sign that they then sleep DIRECTLY UNDER. Seldin the company that owned the apartments before they sold said “we can’t do anything you just have to keep calling Omaha Police Department” and when the police would come they would remove the homeless person and not even 12 hours after they would come right back and Omaha police is too busy to be dealing with that. The new company Crown management said there is something that can be done but I’m not sticking around to see it. The only “amenity” they have is a room on the second floor that I’ve seen 1 person use in the year I’ve lived here. I lived here a year and it glad to be moving.

I truly love living here! The location is perfect - close enough to walk places, but still super quiet (you do hear sirens though because the fire station is down the street, but that's it). When I was touring multiple properties, Flatiron stuck out to me not only because of the beautiful, historic property, but because Nicole the property manager was so kind and accommodating. She is so joyful and very easy to work with, and easy to get a hold of when I need her. She happily fulfills my requests and I never feel like a burden. The maintenance is wonderful - Ryan is super timely, polite, and professional. The property offers private parking for tenants, which is great. The only thing I wish was more available is parking for my guests so they don't have to pay for the meter/worry about getting a ticket (but that's part of living downtown). Living here is wonderful though. The apartments are beautiful, bright and clean. The building is safe, quiet and peaceful. I definitely recommend if you want the convenience and lifestyle of downtown without all the chaos of the Old Market/Capitol District!

The architecture is beautiful, I love how they maintained a lot of the original structure to the building. The transition from Limelight to FlatIron was smooth all thanks to Nicole for going above and beyond. Her patience was definitely tested with me constantly bothering her with questions, she is truly a wonderful person. The unit was spotless and even had that new apartment smell to it. The residents that I've come across are friendly. I can't wait for the restaurant to open up to have a chic yet vintage vibe all in one place.

I recently moved into Flatiron and it’s been amazing. From the excellent help the manager provided to the preserved character of the building, I could not be happier with my new home. The updated appliances, beautiful bathrooms, in unit laundry, and overall design of the apartment makes it feel luxurious and cozy. Thank you Nicole!!

Just moved out after living here for 3 years. I will miss it so much, and I just loved my apartment. They did a really quality job renovating it, while maintaining it's true historic character. I also always had a good experience when needing maintenance at the apartment. I also loved seeing the growth of downtown Omaha in the time that I lived there, and I know that residents living downtown are a part of that awesome growth. My favorite part of living there is my Saturday stroll to the farmer's market in the summertime.

Absolutely love the Flatiron Apartments in Omaha, Ne. They are well managed, beautifully updated and have great amenities. The BATHTUB was a selling point, as was the location just far enough away from the Old Market to be quiet and convenient. If you are looking for a prime, downtown location, check out the Flatiron and say hello to NICOLE, the property manager. She went above and beyond during my time at the Flatiron and is awesome!

I am a new resident at Flatiron. The leasing agent helping me, Nicole, has been nothing short of excellent, professional, and kind through the entire process. I am excited about living in an area where management values the needs of their residents.
