"Louisiana never felt so close to Atlanta. With a menu of Creole classics like gumbo and po’boys, Flatlands makes an excellent case for being the one OTP restaurant that can get you closest to New Orleans without ever leaving Alpharetta. The adventurous soul will love the alligator bites, and the seafood enthusiast will adore the catfish Pontchartrain. Finish the meal with some beignets." - Alex Leo-Guerra

"Fried alligator bites, spicy New Orleans barbecue shrimp, blackened catfish Pontchartrain, and Cajun shrimp pasta are all on the menu at Flatlands. Finish a meal with three traditional beignets covered in powdered sugar and paired with some bourbon, which there is no shortage of behind the bar at Flatlands." - Beth McKibben

Parking was super convenient, with plenty of spaces available on both sides of the restaurant. The seating options were great—cozy indoors and a really nice outdoor area if you prefer dining outside. We ordered the alligator bites appetizer plus Jambalaya, pork ribeye steak, fried basket, and the burger—and every single dish was absolutely delicious! Each plate was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. It’s rare to have four different dishes all be this good, but they nailed it. Our server was incredibly nice and sweet, which made the whole experience even better. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend!

Whoever cooks here.....knows what they're doing. Ok so parking was not a big deal at all. We parked right out front (BUT we arrived at 5:30 so) Seated immediately. They seated us in the little pavilion thingy. Which I thought was super cool! Until we realized that two sides were covered with thick clear plastic. No air flow. And no way of removing the curtains, we asked and they said no. One side of the table had a pleasant breeze while the other side was hating life. I'm sure they have their reasons but y'all.....it's June in Atlanta. Air flow is needed. Ok so food: Raw oysters were good. Hard to screw those up though. No hot sauce on the table. There should always be some form of hot sauce with raw oysters. Yes we could have asked for it but still. GUMBO. Listen can we talk about this gumbo because I'll give you 116 reasons why you need to try it. Seriously I considered licking that bowl. Calamari I am told was good. As well as the shrimp po boy. My friend's salad was requested with no tomatoes, but it arrived with tomatoes. So not a huge deal. I don't get people who don't like tomatoes, but still just pointing out the experience. A couple of us ordered the fried basket. Really good. Ok so risotto. Y'all. Best EVER. The flavors in here are mind-blowing. So what had happened was, since the pavilion was super stuffy and hot, we moved to a table outside. Once we did that, the service went from good to....not good. As in, our checks and cards sat there so long that one of us had to trot them inside to the bar and ask for the manager to process them so we could go on with our evening. None of this detracts from my 5 star rating. Just maybe sit inside or closer to the restaurant if you want better service. Oh and the place is totally cute btw. Recommended.

I had an amazing experience at Flatlands Bourbon & Bayou during lunch with my queen and our son. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for an incredible meal. The food was absolutely outstanding—everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. You could tell that each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail. The flavors were rich, authentic, and truly brought that Southern comfort vibe to the table. Every bite was just as good as the last! Our waitress, Ms. Chris, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. Her service was impeccable—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt right at home. She made great recommendations and ensured that our drinks stayed full and our meals were perfect. If you're looking for a place with amazing food, great service, and a laid-back yet classy atmosphere, Flatlands Bourbon & Bayou is the spot. We’ll definitely be back for another incredible meal. Highly recommend!

Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou is one of those hidden gems that hits all the right notes—bold flavors, smooth vibes, and unforgettable hospitality. The food alone is worth the visit: the crab dip came out hot and bubbling, packed with flavor, and the seafood gumbo had us scraping the bowl clean. Every dish felt like it had a story straight out of the bayou. But what really made the night was Lina, the bartender. From the moment we sat down, she was locked in—friendly, fast, and on point with every recommendation. She knew exactly what drinks would complement our plates and even clued us in on the after-party scene. It was like she knew our vibe before we said a word. Lina’s energy turned a great dinner into a full-on experience. Between the killer cocktails, the smooth cigar lounge, and the unbeatable hospitality, Flatlands is officially on our go-to list. 5/5 for food, drinks, and good times—shoutout to Lina for making it unforgettable!

So, if you aren't a fan of spicy food I'd suggest you go elsewhere. Cajun food is typically spicy and this place did NOT disappoint. My friend's wife is from N.O. and they were the first people we told about this restaurant. It's a small, quaint setting, that gives N.O. vibes. The service was quick and attentive. The bourbon list (hence the name) is quite impressive and not ridiculously overpriced. We live in the city and the 22 mile drive up 400 is worth the trip. #GoEatGood

Overall 4.5 stars! This was a cute hidden gem and worth the one hour drive. Appetizers we opted for charbroil oysters and catfish nuggets (with sauce on side for dipping vs being tossed in it). The oysters were decent and fresh, I'm difficult to please on oysters (but I noticed it was very popular), the catfish nuggets were fried to perfection and flavor was amazing (my favorite). I ordered cajun shrimp pasta (it was perfect) and hubby ordered trout with risotto! My hubby always reject risotto at any restaurant but decided to try it. He said the best ever and the taste and texture sold him! Don't sleep on the mac and cheese! I rarely eat mac and cheese and hubby ordered a side of it and i loved it! Don't leave without ordering beignets (they taste like they're straight outta NOLA). I can't wait to return and try other items. The staff was very friendly and service was good. Lastly, I ordered a side car from the bar and it was wonderdul!

Came around 6:30 pm on a Sunday for dinner. There was plenty of parking and we were able to get seated right away. Started with the hot crab dip and it was so good! Definitely the table favorite. It did not taste spicy for those worried about spice levels. Portions are good sizes for the entrees, we were able to take home too. The table got the soft shell crab poboy, Cajun shrimp pasta, and the blackened pork ribeye. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. Also try out the beignets!! The vibe of the place is definitely southern comfort and was very homey.

Went out for date night after having my baby and it was well worth it. From the drink to the dessert everything was perfect. Perfectly seasoned, perfect temperature. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Cute NOLA themed spot with delicious food! Location and Parking Located in Alpharetta, Parking is located behind the building in marked spots. The parking is limited and can get busy during peak meal times. Venue and Atmosphere You are truly entering the Flatlands as soon as you pass the pond decked out with Mardi Gras beads and alligator statues, right next to the spacious patio and gazebo. The party continues inside, where every inch of the restaurant reminds you of the lively Bourbon St. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages The hot crab dip and catfish pontchartrain were to die for. Both were seasoned well with just the right amount of heat. The portions are filling without being massive. I was in the mood for a Bloody Mary with my lunch and they did not disappoint. Verdict I'll definitely visit again in the spring, so I can fully enjoy the outside with warm weather.

Yelp
The palace pecan beignets are the BEST! I'd drive to Alpharetta from The west side just for them! Everything else pales in comparison. The pecan okd fashioned wasn't the hat I thought it'd be; it was pecan pieces, not whole pecans and trying to get the pieces wasn't easy...the barbecue shrimp tasted more like spiced honey barbecue seasoning, not traditional NOLA barbecued shrimp. They werextra large though. The red b and and rice was ok and was lacking the seasoning of red beans and rice; like they were cooked separately and put together when plated. The andouille sausage was as good. This was the shrimp and andouille sausage meal. It comes with red beans & rice, andouille sausage, &. Barbecue shrimp; a nice sampling of 2"3 dishes. We sat upstairs Saturday afternoon, 2:1 and our server was great. I can't recall her name: the Flatlands salad is delicious. The shrimp are huge! I ordered 2 to go to take to a potluck later. The y initially forgot the avocado, but the server added it. The bacon was delicious in it. Great salad. Order it: My husband ordered the fried seafood basket and enjoyed it . He doesn't like spicy food and had to tequ at the fish grilled because the seasoning for the fried fish was too spicy for him: Great place with many bourdon drinks I hope to make my way through lol: This was my second visit and I will return soon:

Yelp
Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou is a great choice for authentic Cajun food in the greater Atlanta area. From their starters and mains, to their extensive top shelf Bourbon selection, this place is a perfect date night spot is Downtown Alpharetta. The restaurant offers outdoor, bar, as well as upstairs seating. The staff is always around, ready to refill your drink or offer you an order of their famous beignets. On our most recent visit, my husband and I were celebrating our one year anniversary. We both ordered a side salad, shared an order of Alligator Bites, and got a top shelf pour of whiskey to preface our main course. Our main courses were the Blackened Fish Tacos and Cajun Chicken Pasta. The Cajun Chicken Pasta usually comes with Andouille Sausage, but on this occasion I substituted it for spinach, which was super yummy.

Yelp
This a cute restaurant behind some buildings if you blink, you will miss it. They have parking and indoor and outdoor sitting. This place is a hidden gem. The service was good but the food just put an exclamation on the experience. Everything has flavor. The portion sizes were on point, even down to dessert. I was so full by the time I got to dessert but I had to try the bread pudding and glad I did. It was everything sad I could not finish it all. Definitely recommend can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I went here in November of '24 for a work trip and it was SO delicious. The asparagus was good but the jambalaya was beyond incredible. My coworker got a bigger dish but neither of us could finish our meals! Super delicious but also super filling. It was warm for late November so we sat outside and we were glad to have! The lights & setting are super cute, and some seats are even in the little gazebo outside. The service was also super kind, greatly appreciated the kind staff! From two midwesterners, we greatly enjoyed our meal here.

Chris B.

Yelp
While in Alpharetta GA last night, looking for something good to EAT, I stumbled upon this gem. Since I was alone I sat at the oba to have dinner. The bartender recommended their Jambalaya. If you do not like spicy food stay away. I love spicy food, and it was delicious. The hostess "Chris" recommended THE BEST ever bread pudding. OMG! It was warm, sweet to perfection, 10 out of 10. Next time I'm in town I will be back to have their catfish meal she recommended. In summary, you cannot miss with this place. Although I did not have an alcoholic drink, their bourbon lineup is extensive. I had sweet tea instead, and it was good. -jambalaya -Sweet Tea -Bread pudding

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while leaving a doctor appointment and I'm so glad we did! It was so delicious. I absolutely love the outside koi pond and the ambiance really gives New Orleans vibes. The food is well seasoned and even tried a small bite of the alligator bites which weren't half bad. The service was great and the waitress had great recommendations. I'll be back for sure.

Susan M.

Yelp
This was some of the best Cajun food I have had outside of New Orleans! I have been there twice now and the wait staff was so kind! The restaurant has a real low key hole in the wall vide and we loved it. I will definitely be back here whenever I am in town. FYI, we had the crab dip, Cajun shrimp, pasta, and the char grilled oysters. Totally worth it. And don't skip out on the beignets! Small but amazing!

Attiya K.

Yelp
Had a good experience at this restaurant. We were seated immediately and served quickly. All items came out fairly quickly. Has indoor and outdoor spaces which is always great. Great for families and big groups. Beignets were great and shrimp Po Boy and Gouda Burger were good as well. Great portions provided! Parking is a bit of a challenge since there we shared parking lots with other restaurants near by. They only have brunch on Sundays.

Elena K.

Yelp
Great little casual spot in downtown Alpharetta located in what was once (or so I'm told) a greenhouse for the residence. This is becoming a regular spot for us. Limited reservations available. I imagine it can get very busy since it's such a small place. This is 100% a place to dine if you enjoy New Orleans Cajun style. Ambiance : Super casual dining inside or patio with the most flavorful Cajun menu. Service : we have been there a few times and servers are always excellent with very good suggestions. The crab dip is hard to pass up. It's a small portion so order a second appetizer or the Crawfish Mac and Cheese to share. We have tried and loved several fish entrees, jambalaya, blackened fish tacos, shrimp poboy, crab poboy, crab dip, Crawfish Mac & Cheese, Red Beans and Rice, gumbo, pecan pie, bread pudding.

Yelp
Damn!!!! What an amazing meal! My wife found this place on Yelp for us to try with our friends before a concert. She hit a home run with this find! Super cool place with indoor and outdoor seating. An amazing bourbon bar, and some of the best food in the area! And great food for the price! We started with the Alligator bites. They were very flavorful and tender. We then got the Catfish Ponchatrain and fried chicken to share. The catfish was fine, the seafood cream sauce with shrimp and crawfish over rice was to die for! The fried chicken was good, but the Cajun street corn was an explosion of flavors! We want to try to make this at home too! Service was very good. But as good as the food was, I wouldn't have cared! Great place to eat. We will be back!!!

Charlis F.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Missing the nuance of real New Orleans food. Very heavy on cream which isn't the way we cook. Great ambiance and tasty food but not at all authentic. Really enjoyed myself nonetheless. Service was nothing to write home about.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! My favorite food in the world is anything with a New Orleans creole flair and this place didn't disappoint. It's the kind of place that makes you wish you had several stomachs. Fantastic service, Kyle! Very attentive and great with recommendations. We got the BBQ shrimp for an app. Eight large shrimp. Plenty to share! The sauce is lovely and while it's marked spicy. It wasn't hot spicey. For entrees, we got the catfish and the crawfish Mac and cheese. Massive portions for both. The fish was tender and yummy. Of course we had to get dessert, two stuffed beignets! To die for! Great ambiance and use of what I'm assuming is an old house turned restaurant! Cute NOLA style decor. It's very cozy.

Zemin H.

Yelp
Parking space is very limited, I had to find parking spot at back street. The service was courteous, we sat outdoors at cute small pavilion with tree cover. We ordered few typical Creole food: Gumbo, Jambalaya, Crawfish Étouffée, Shrimp Andouille, plus half dozen of Gulf Oysters and Rockefeller Oysters. We started with some local Abita beers and oysters, both oysters were fresh, taste was fine except the size was very small, maybe it's off season? Gumbo: they don't serve seafood gumbo, from the looks and taste I guess it's Cajun style gumbo since the base didn't seem to have tomato and it's spicier; Jambalaya: it's the andouille sausage version, I hope they can make seafood version of Jambalaya as well, the taste of seafood Jambalaya is very close to Paella; Crawfish Étouffée: the look and taste of the gravy were almost same as gumbo except it's thicker, don't get me wrong, I liked it, should I know it, I would order Crawfish Étouffée only; Shrimp Andouille: I liked the smoky flavor from chunks of famous andouille sausage, red beans tasted very soft. Overall all the dishes were very delicious and authentic Cajun / Creole food.

Yelp
YELP NEVER LETS ME DOwN!!! Such a cute restaurant with a true Louisiana vibe!!! The food was sooo good!!! The alligator bites were everything !!! We ordered two orders of them. All of our food and drinks were amazing!!! Would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Flatland Bourbon and Bayou felt homey when you entered the premise. It looked like an Irish pub inside, and then so cozy with a hobo vibe outside, with Alligator rock sculptures and a small fish pond that my son was so fond of watching. We chose to dine in alfresco, 'cause it was a good and sunny weather in Atlanta. For the food: It was my first time tasting Alligator, so when I saw the Alligator bits in the menu as a starter, I chose it. The Alligator meat was so tender, and the batter was tasty and crispy. My son almost ate everything! For Entree, I ordered the Blackened Red Fish, and it's the best choice I had. The couscous did pair well with the red fish. I like the spices they put, and the fish never smelt fishy. My mom ordered seared salmon, and she loved it. She usually can't finish food, but this time, she cleaned her plate well. My dad ordered a fried seafood combo basket (shrimp, catfish filet, fries), and catfish is his least favorite. I tried it, and this species really had a distinct after taste. I will never order any catfish meal. The service is really good. The staff are efficient, and they explained what's on the menu well. They also know their menu. I will definitely recommend this, especially to try the Alligator bits!

Jai B.

Yelp
The quality is in consistent. On a good night the food is great. I was a fan of the alligator bites and Po'Boy. Flavors are good. A unique option in Alpharetta.

Suhana E.

Yelp
We love the atmosphere outside and inside. Super cozy place. I like the string lights. We were seated right away and given menus. We ordered crab dip, crawfish etouffee, catfish pontchartrain. WOW. The food is PHENOMENAL!! The chef surely paid attention to details. The dishes were very flavorful all around. Our server was great. Great service, great food. Definitely will come back.

Candace H.

Yelp
Good food, drinks, and service. Hands down, the beignets are the best I've had in Georgia and the closest that I've had to New Orleans's beignets! The regular ones are light and fluffy and come out nice n hot! Then we ordered the praline stuffed beignets and they just stole the show! Absolutely delicious! I would drive to Alpharetta just to get those! The crab dip wasn't good to me. It just tasted like a cream cheese dip. I didn't see any shrimp in it and the crab was minimal. But there were huge pieces of bell peppers in it... I ordered the pontchartrain with trout instead of catfish and it desperately needed salt but once I added salt it was very yummy! The chargrilled oysters were ok. They could have used more butter and slightly more seasoning. The lychee martini was made perfectly! Strong but tasty. I'll definitely be back for the beignets and cocktails, as well as try a couple of other menu items.

Zareen N.

Yelp
We just had a wonderful New Year's Eve meal at Flatlands. Every NYE meal from now on should be Cajun. And if Flatlands can be the where, awesome. Considering it was the late afternoon of NYE, the restaurant was seriously relaxed, and the service was fast, friendly, and fantastic. The front of house employees all seemed really jovial and pleasant. I don't know whether or not to keep this gem a secret or to shout from the rooftops, but we've already decided that this is going to be the place we next bring our friends to. I started with a bowl of gumbo followed by the crawfish etoufee. I also nursed a classic sazerac for most of the meal. I finished with an order of the stuffed beignets. My hubs had the catfish Pontchartrain and later, the bread pudding. My son had a shrimp po'boy and cajun street corn, and also, the bread pudding. We also ordered a few things to take home..... All of it was delicious. We will be back.

Joyrina H.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place out as the menu seemed very interesting. I myself had the seafood risotto which was ok as it was very bland and not at all hearty and filling like risottos that I'm used to. It had salmon broken up in pieces into it, small bites of crawfish and shrimp, which the dish lacked flavor and seasoning. The rest of my party had the salmon and shrimp pasta which they enjoyed. I had a vintage old fashioned drink which I didn't see the waitress to get a straw but that would have been nice to have so I could sip my drink. We did order the beignets for dessert which was good and was the best part of the meal besides my drink. I imagined the food to give me a creole, Louisiana taste and it was below average. Parking is available and shared with Warm Waves.

Harriet C.

Yelp
Every time I come here, I enjoy it. We started with New Orleans BBQ Shrimp for an appetizer. They were good. I had the seafood risotto and it was delicious. My friend had the Cajun shrimp pasta and he enjoyed it. My son had the kids cheeseburger. We got the beignets for dessert which were good. My cocktail was good.

Eric P.

Yelp
Neat little Cajun spot in Alpharetta. I've had the etouffee and the fried seafood basket. Both are really good and prices are reasonable. Full bar and good beer choice. An excellent option for dining in Alpharetta Square vicinity.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Fun concept but our service left a little to be desired. One of our plates came out dirty, we had lemonade accidentally poured into one of our water glasses, and we had to remind our server that we ordered drinks after the food arrived. Our server seemed very distracted the entire time we were there. The food was ok...alligator bites were delicious and I recommend those if you decide to come here. The rest of the food ordered (mac and cheese, nola salad, chicken sandwich) was kinda basic.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Walking from downtown, you step just off the street to Flatlands, and almost immediately the atmosphere changes. We visited on a Saturday evening without a reservation, so outdoor seating was the only thing available, but with the tree cover and fans, even in early August we were comfortable outside. Our group tried a bit of everything on the menu. We had the calamari and gator bites, both of which were great quality and perfectly flavored. We then had Jambalaya, Gumbo, Catfish Pontchartrain, Seared Salmon and Cajun Pasta, (oh and kids tenders). The servings were really big and everything was excellent. The 2 in our group who had the gumbo said it was the best they had ever had. The kids plate was huge. We ended the meal with regular and praline beignets. (They have four different flavors and my only complaint is that they didn't offer a sampler/flight.) They were very busy. Our server was very attentive, but you could definitely tell she had a lot of tables. We were in no hurry and it was fine. The mosquitoes started getting bad late in the evening, but they did say they were spraying the following week. Overall I would recommend Flatlands

My-Linh D.

Yelp
It's such a cute little spot for creole food! The pricing by is unmatched for the food that you get. My favorite were the oysters. They are pretty small but the flavor is packed! The workers there are so nice. They took their time recommending me what they like and what is usually popular!

Chá L.

Yelp
Delicious food especially the crawfish etouffee and alligator bites. All I can say about alligator meat is it's a combination of fish and chicken texture. Service is quick and attentive. Beautiful outdoor seats under a gazebo or outside in a garden next to the parking lot.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch. Greeted immediately upon arrival. We were seated on the outside section. The location isn't enormous. Nice size for a nice crowd. Once seated our waitress introduced herself and gave us a moment to review the menu. Our waitress was very pleasant.. We ordered maybe 5-7 mins of deciding and food was served not too long after. Didn't seem like a major wait. A normal time; everything was hot and apparently cooked to order. Very good. Seasoned great. Good portion size. Shrimp and catfish was battered well. The fries were just as good. Shrimp and grits were also amazing. The location is behind The Southern Porch. We parking the reserved slots for those particular restaurants. I'm sure there was more parking available. You could actually miss this spot if you weren't looking for it. I would recommend stopping by and trying it.

Dee C.

Yelp
The food was great and we had Sam as our server and she was amazing, will definitely be back.

Jaz M.

Yelp
I called in an order for regular beignets and was offered the stuffed strawberry or pralines also. I had to try them! The pralines n crème was my fav 10/10. The caramel inside was so good. It wasn't too sweet and had nuts mixed throughout. The strawberry was good too but didn't beat the praline. The lady that took the call and the man Kwame who took my order were friendly. Both orders cost $19 total, a little overpriced but hey. The scenery was nice with an open patio. The parking lot accommodates guests also. If the food is as good as the desserts, go see about this place!

Carla J.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere with a Cajun vibe. Very nice Koi pond as you enter. An extensive drink menu with something for everyone. The service was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered the calamari which was flavorful and the right amount of spice. We split the pork chop meal and a side of the corn and Parmesan risotto. Everything was great! Pork chop was tender and juicy. The risotto was my favorite with its creamy texture and flavor. Definitely would recommend this place.

Oneka P.

Yelp
It was cold when we went but love that they have a cute outdoor seating area for when it gets warm. May come back just to sit outside. As far as the food...it was fine. After eating gumbo and etouffe in New Orleans it's hard to beat that. My mom was feeling generous and let my brother and I take meals to go. I got the crawfish etouffe and it was just okay. Could have used a bit more flavor. My main meal at the restaurant was the salmon with sweet potato risotto. That was really good! Specifically the risotto! Alligator bites were tasty with all the different sauces. My moms gumbo was just okay. I didn't taste my brothers pasta but he said it was good. My dad got fried chicken and it was just okay. I don't think the food is amazing at all but I think in the summer it would be a cute spot to get together and eat maybe just one more time.

Priyanka N.

Yelp
Great find in downtown Alpharetta. Catfish nuggets were fresh and delicious. Cajun shrimp pasta was flavorful and perfect. Shrimp po boy was the best we've had with big juicy shrimp. The dirty rice was perfectly fluffy with a good hint of heat. And our drinks were amazing too! Ambiance made us feel like we were right in the bayou, and Vladimir's service was good. We will definitely be back!

Charlene T.

Yelp
This is a fun quaint restaurant in downtown Alpharetta. It has beautiful outdoor garden seating and lots of fun New Orlean's style decor. You almost feel as if you transcend to NOLO for the time you sit at one of their tables. The service is impeccable. The staff has been there for years. Very friendly, accommodating, efficient and customer focused. They NEVER disappoint! We've been dining here for over five years now. The food is THE Best Cajun fare I've had outside of NOLO and .... Better than some I've had in NOLO. Ever look at a menu and want to say "I'll take one of everything", well this is that kind of place. Over the years I've had just about everything on the menu! I'm in love with it all, as is my husband and my Cajun step-dad! The Gumbo is a must!

Kari K.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service from Sam! We enjoyed crawfish Mac & Cheese, shrimp & grits, crab dip, shrimp andouille, and gumbo! Delicious!

Tammy B.

Yelp
The food, services and ambiance was amazing! I enjoyed my drink and the crawfish ettouffe.

Timothy S.

Yelp
OMG! What an amazing find. Parking in lot, not on street. Full service bar, our server was Anna. "Anna Amazing". Great service!!! Great attitude. Definitely made our night. I had smoked gouda burger, my wife had the crayfish etouffee. Wow!!! Serving size is great. Worth repeating again and again....

Leroy C.

Yelp
I've had this restaurant on my to do list for a while and finally had a chance to visit. They have a really nice casual ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. My wife and I opted to sit outside. The service was great and the food was even better. I'll say it was some of the best Cajun food I've had in a long time. The crab dip and gumbo starters were delicious. The seared salmon and catfish pontchartrain were absolutely fantastic. And what is a Cajun meal without beignets for dessert. Sorry, no pics because we were too eager to dive in. We'll definitely be back.

Dawn L.

Yelp
Great food and great staff. I was somewhat disappointed by the signature cocktails...but it's more of a bourbon place, so if straight is your style then enjoy your bliss! The garden area felt like a little dream world to enjoy my husband's companionship. There is enough variety in food options and spice levels that you'll be happy with this choice.

Yelp
Yummy Cajun spot in Alpharetta. All of our food was tasty. Service was good. Weather cooperated for us to sit outside in the gazebo.

Yelp
I enjoy flatlands a lot. The food is relatively consistent, and the drinks are amazing.

Yelp
Cute lil gem with a Cajun heart. Sat outside and had great service and yummy food. The beignets were the bow on top.

Yelp
You NEED to get the fish here. My partner ordered the Blackened Redfish 10/10!!! And I got the catfish pontchartrain which was 8/10! Both were soooo good but the Blackened Redfish was the winner! We also got the Hot Crab Dip as an appetizer and it hit the spot! Service was great. Outdoor seating was shady and cool. Would come back again for the fish!

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise this place was. A cute little house off Alpharetta Main Street. Next to the house was a sprawling tree that was incredible. Under the tree a gazebo with moss on the roof and a great Koi pond next to it. That's what greets you before you even get inside. In addition, there is even some great outdoor seating. Ambiance inside is great. Very cozy and well decorated. We got a seat on the inside patio. We were happy being inside since it was 95 degrees outside and humid. Once we were seated, I ordered some refreshing tea and my wife ordered a class of white wine. We also opted for an appetizer... hot crab dip with tortilla chips. What can I say??!? The crab dip was heaven in a hot iron skillet. It was incredible! Not blowing sunshine up your skirt, this stuff was the bomb! We polished off every bite. Two thumbs up for that appetizer. Awesome way to kick things off. The wife opted for Blackened Catfish Ponchatrain. I went with the Cajun Shrimp pasta. They came out nice and hot and looked amazing and smelled out of the world. My Cajun Shrimp Pasta was in the most tasty cream / Dijon mustard sauce. Going to sound strange but we were slurping up the sauce with the spoon. It was that good. It could have stood on its own as a soup. The Catfish Ponchatrain was also out of this world. It was blackened catfish on a bed of rice with shrimp, jalapeño, cabbage, and a lot of other great flavors. You can't go wrong with this dish or the Cajun Pasta. Overall, what a fantastic experience. We spent about two hours there taking our time, enjoying the atmosphere and especially enjoying the great food. We had a great server and everyone was very friendly. We will be back. Lots! Thank you Flatlands for a great Saturday afternoon experience.

Yelp
The food received mixed reviews from our party. The salmon, the jambalaya, and the pasta was great but the fried chicken was bland and required honey mustard. Our table service was super but the bar service was poor. My adult son ordered a drink and a 'side of cherries' and the bartender thought he ordered a drink called a Sidecar. The "mistake" drink was brought to our table and several of us thought it tasted terrible. Finally it was finished by my 70 year old mother. At the end of the night the bartender asked if the mistake drink was was consumed and if so he was charging for it. I told the truth and had to to cover the bartender's mistake. Luckily I had a bar tab separate from the table tab. I'll come back for the food but stick with a beer or water.

Yelp
We stopped by for dinner with no reservation and chose to sit outside. It has a very chill outdoor dining area. The inside seems quite small. Our server is very nice and took her time to explain to us what is the most popular dish and what she likes. We went with the cajun pasta and it was perfect. The sauce, the shrimp, the sausage all work well together with the pasta to give your taste bud and explosion in flavor. The oyster rockefeller oyster were much better than the chargrilled. It was about $15-17 for half a dozen. The crawfish etouffee was lighter in salt. But it is not bad at all. Normally I would have to drink a lot of water eating this dish. But this one is good in its own way. Overall I enjoyed our visit and would come back again.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. I lived in New Orleans for a month and this restaurant took me right back with the quality of the food and the atmosphere the building. It has fun crocodile statues, Mardi Gras bead, and a gazebo with outdoor lighting to sit under while eating. The waiter was kind enough to let us switch tables to sit underneath the gazebo when space was available. The food is excellent here. For appetizers we have the crab dip which is the BEST tasting crab dip I've ever had. It is a little on the pricier side but they give a healthy portion. Everyone at the table loved it. For entree I had the Cajun shrimp pasta with an incredible Dijon cream sauce. Honestly one of the best Pastas I've ever had and it's the reason I've come here multiple times and brought friends to the restaurant. For dessert we have the beignets with pralines inside. These beignets are honestly better than some I've had in New Orleans since they are stuffed in addition to the usually soft pillowy texture people love about them. It's a unique an appreciated twist on a classic dessert. Overall I love this restaurant and look forward to coming many more times and showing more and more of my friends about it.

Yelp
This place had been here longer than I care to admit before I actually tried it. I've been here 3x now ... and it consistently proves to be the best Cajun food in this area. Lots of things to love about this place -- its own parking area, outdoor seating, a quaint bar, and a rustic old house setting with dining across two floors. I love this place. The gumbo here is on point. It has a spicy profile that creeps up on you, layered in so much flavor. Other things worth eating include the warm crab dip, the shrimp etouffee, the crawfish mac and cheese ... pretty much anything. If you're in the mood for a drink, I really enjoy the very small bar. Next time you're there, have a seat, strike up a conversation with the bartender and order a Vieux Carre. They did it right.
