Flatland Bourbon and Bayou felt homey when you entered the premise. It looked like an Irish pub inside, and then so cozy with a hobo vibe outside, with Alligator rock sculptures and a small fish pond that my son was so fond of watching. We chose to dine in alfresco, 'cause it was a good and sunny weather in Atlanta.
For the food: It was my first time tasting Alligator, so when I saw the Alligator bits in the menu as a starter, I chose it. The Alligator meat was so tender, and the batter was tasty and crispy. My son almost ate everything! For Entree, I ordered the Blackened Red Fish, and it's the best choice I had. The couscous did pair well with the red fish. I like the spices they put, and the fish never smelt fishy. My mom ordered seared salmon, and she loved it. She usually can't finish food, but this time, she cleaned her plate well. My dad ordered a fried seafood combo basket (shrimp, catfish filet, fries), and catfish is his least favorite. I tried it, and this species really had a distinct after taste. I will never order any catfish meal. The service is really good. The staff are efficient, and they explained what's on the menu well. They also know their menu. I will definitely recommend this, especially to try the Alligator bits!
