Flatstick Pub Review - South Lake Union - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Flatstick Pub, a mini-golf bar, is practically designed for after-work functions—the mini golf costs $8 to play, the space is massive, and there are 32 different beers on tap. While the pub snacks here like mozzarella sticks and onion rings are just fine, you’ll want to spend your company’s budget on their tasty brick oven pizza instead. Just make sure you don’t accidentally clock your colleague in the face with a putter." - Aimee Rizzo

Flatstick Pub in Spokane is such a fun spot! Loved their fuffleboard! The staff is super friendly, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. I came in during lunch and was impressed by their $12 weekday lunch special (Monday–Friday, a great deal for the quality. They have an awesome selection of 22 craft beers and ciders on tap, plus several rotating draft cocktails. There’s even local root beer on tap for a non-alcoholic treat! I tried the pretzel, and it was fresh, soft, and not overly salted, way better than the typical beer bar pretzel! A perfect snack with a cider or an amazing hazy IPA like I did. If you’re around in the afternoons like myself, don’t miss happy hour from 3–5 PM on weekdays (unlimited games and drinks during that time!). Such a great way to unwind, especially if you're with friends or coworkers. Whether you're stopping in for lunch, drinks, or a bit of playful competition for team outings, Flatstick delivers on all fronts! Looking forward to being back!

Google
Fun place! I was here with a work group and we enjoyed pizza, finger foods and drinks. During a few interactions with staff, they were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed socializing and playing golf. No complaints here.

It was cute. Didn’t order food. I heard the food was too salty/greasy. If I went again it would be for the fun. Servers were nice but never checked on us. We bussed our own table.

Edit: After calling to resolve the double charge, the manager reached out and not only refunded the second payment but the original payment. From what I could gather, he did this out of remorse for the rough service that I had experienced as stated below. Additionally, to further make up for the rough night, the manager has offered a free little package deal of pizza and a couple drinks for me to redeem should I visit again. All of this, is extremely generous of the manager. I would like to thank the manager for his kindness and empathy for my rough first experience at the restaurant by changing the overall review to 5 stars and the customer service to also 5 stars. Thank you, Eric and I look forward to a new night at the Flatstick PUB. Original Review: The food was extremely overpriced and not good. The pretzel was burnt. The cashier never notified us that our drinks were ready and left them out. But the worst part, as I was paying for it all, the cashier canceled the transaction. I believed instantly this was because I did not want to tip for the poor food and service and he did not feel that was just. I didn’t want to argue and cause a scene, so I just tipped him just to shut his mouth so I could leave. The original transaction wasn’t actually cancelled though and I got doubled charged on my debit card. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.

Google
We visited on a Saturday morning right after it opened. Our first round of mini golf was a lot of fun but as soon as lots of kids started showing up, the flow definitely slowed down. Fun that there was different games to play but a little spendy if you pay for all of them. Definitely bar food, wasn't as impressed as everyone has made this place out to be

Google
Flatstick is hands-down one of our favorite spots. My husband stopped in for St. Patrick’s Day and was instantly hooked. Between the fun vibe, amazing staff, and that super tasty green beer, he couldn’t stop talking about it. We’ve been back again and again since, and it never disappoints. The team is so welcoming and fun, and the energy is always on point. Whether we’re grabbing drinks or just hanging out, Flatstick always delivers. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good time and even better people.

Google
Went in for bingo, it was really fun! Great family atmosphere, kids can be in there until 9:00pm. Pizza and garlic fries were very good. Service was outstanding. They have the nicest staff I have experienced overall. I highly recommend this place! Add trivia night to the Flatstick fun! Update: Not family friendly anymore. They have decided to go to more of a bar atmosphere instead of allowing families with kids to do bingo or trivia. Kids are allowed until 8 pm now. It was fun while it lasted. Seems like new management is making some changes. I hope that works out because this place has some absolutely rad staff members!

Yelp
Fun and amazing place, good food and fantastic selection of beers. I had my dinner here with colleagues, ordered some pizzas to share, all very good flavor, tried a few fruity beer and IPA, all good. There are plenty of games to play and team building. Location is good, service was great. High recommended!

Yelp
You had me at mini golf. A little-known secret about me - I'm excellent at mini golf. So, when my friends who were visiting from out of town came to visit Spokane, I suggested we do something active while we drank beer and Flatstick Pub seemed like the obvious choice. After grabbing a beer, we went to check-in for mini golf. A kid's birthday party had just started the course, so we were given a free round of duffleboard to keep us occupied until we could get on the course. I am however terrible at duffleboard. But it was still fun and I'm glad we tried it. Once it was our turn, we headed over the mini golf course and were able to play through pretty quickly. I think we only spent about an hour there because we had a dinner reservation to get to, but I would totally come back and hangout here. It's a fun environment and conveniently located in in downtown Spokane. Which also means that parking in one of the nearby lots might be a bit pricey, but you could always uber or grab one of the many lime scooters to get here too.

Yelp
If you are spending any time in downtown Spokane, this should be on your list of places to stop, hands down! This is one of our favorite things to do when we come up from Arizona. First, the environment is just so fun and laid back. The staff are all great and really helpful. It's all ages before 8pm, so our teenagers love to hang out there before the night crowd comes in. We always come during the happy hour (M-F 3-6pm) to get the $12 pizzas that feed our crowd and the music has always been on point. Free water and tons of drinks to choose from. Take home pint glasses available for purchase as well as other merch. The mini golf and Duffleboard are both 9 hole games and the score cards you use for 5 players. The mini golf has fun obstacles and Duffleboard (combo of shuffleboard and golf) is a unique, fast paced good ole time. Wickets is a first to the flag game with 9 wickets (think croquet with golf balls and putters). Having the shorter hole courses helps things move along pretty quickly but also you could spend one hour or several just going back and playing all the games again. Perfect for the competitive types and the casual players. It's not as easy it might look. If you want to sit back at a table or booth and take in the offerings of the pub, chat, people watch, play a board game or cards, you can do that too. They also have nights were they host bingo and game night. You can also book space for a private event or large group. Highly recommend and sometimes you can even find them on Groupon. Side note: parking is either street parking at meters (free after 7pm on weekdays) or in one of the parking garages nearby. The meter parking is the cheaper bet and gives you 2 hours.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. We stopped off while sightseeing for a drink and a snack. The online menu said they had gf food but it is all cooked in the same fryer so I wasn't able to eat but, we had a couple drinks and played some in door mini golf to wait out the rain.

Yelp
Great time! I do recommend just paying for all amenities because it's a way better deal than a la carte games, and they're all fun. Staff was kind & the place was clean.

Yelp
I'm into Flatstick and have made it a point to check out all of them. I am anxiously awaiting the opening of Tacoma and Redmond. This one ranks higher for me than Bellingham or Kirkland, it seems more like South Lake Union. This location was not open on my last drive thru, but this time it was priority number 1 on my stop off to Spokane. This place was busy on a Friday afternoon, but it's large and has some space to spread out. Like all Flatstick's it has an impressive tap list. It's in downtown Spokane and parking can be a bit tricky, but close to many things including Riverfront park. I really liked the mini golf course here, I love the hole that incorporated the Bloom's Day Run. We also made good use of the duffleboard course, I refused to leave until I had managed a hole in one on all 9. We also checked out the wickets game, but not sure if we truly played this correctly. I'm sad my friend declined to meet us for this amazing fun, if I was closer I would definitely bring more friends here to show it off.

Yelp
PRETZEL PRETZEL PRETZEL!!! We were just walking around town and saw Flatstick Pub. We needed to burn an hour of time so we decided to check it out. While we didn't play any of the games there are several fun games for the kids and adults to enjoy. We had dinner plans in a couple of hours so we were just going to grab beers. But someone decided to get a pretzel and we all tried a bite and it was the best pretzel we had ever tasted and ordered two more! Definitely get the pretzel and enjoy one or more of the many local brews they offer. I tried a beer from No Li and eventually had to go check that brewery out!

Yelp
SUCH a fun time here! After a week skiing in Sandpoint, we were staying nearby and happened to walk by and holy good times. We had our two teenage sons with us and we loved the amazing service by literally everyone in the bar. This being our first time playing duffleboard, we weren't sure what to expect, but what a way to spend a chilly day after walking all over downtown Spokane. They are clear about no kiddos after 9 and no problem with that here...we had plenty of time to get round after round in and even caught a few games of bingo before heading out. It's a must try, especially during the day when you've got your kids with!

Yelp
Yelp's mentioning of favorite or best outdoor dining should not have included Flatstick, they dont have outdoor dining. Maybe check the other reviews if they are accurate. No fault to Flatstick!

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary before our fancy dinner. He was in charge of the fancy dinner and I was in charge of happy hour. I chose this place to give us a little bit of fun before hand and it was such a good idea. The staff was amazing first of all - accommodating and really friendly. We did the mini golf and the shuffleboard and while I was terrible at both it was so fun. It was cool to see our whole city be setup on each of the courses. We only had drinks but they were tasty - a margarita and a mule! Very typical for us. We had a blast and the pictures are cute. Enjoy if you go and bring the whole family.

Yelp
Such a fun place to be on a date or with the kids. Can get crowded at times since there's not a lot of options with mini golfing and the other games, plus not as big as I thought the golfing areas were. Good varieties of craft beer. Decent menu for pizza. Not really a lot. But still delicious. Good space for seating. Would recommend going for a cute date idea or even having fun with the kids. P.s. some of the golfing areas are broken (lights, music that it plays, or sometimes even the golfing course itself). Not sure if they've fixed it since the last time we visited.

Yelp
Bottom Line: what a great golf-themed sports pub that has a fun vibe and family friendly. While it's normally hard to please two completely separate demographics (college vs family), Flatstick does it with ease. It's a must try. Try this place if you are visiting downtown Spokane and you need a place to just chill on a Friday night or if you want to bring some of your out-of-town friends to sit down and catch up. There's plenty of seats for large groups and the open seating arrangements makes it ideal for large groups. There's a lot of TVs for those epic games you're trying to watch as a group and there's plenty of putt-putt games, shuffle boards, and mega-Jenga prices to keep the children entertained. The beer list and cocktail lists are epic. There's something for everyone and a nice Shirley Temple for the kiddos. The food menu is somewhat limited but there's enough bar food type items to keep everyone happy. Plus there's ice cream... which may or may not be a good idea to mix with your alcohol... unless it's Baileys. This place is a must try.

Yelp
We were looking for something fun to do and found this cool place within walking distance of our hotel, Flatstick Pub. This is a really cool pub with a fun atmosphere and is themed around the sport of golf. The restaurant itself is very spacious and there is a whole section to play mini golf and "duffleboard" (a mix between mini golf and shuffleboard). The beer selection consists of locally sourced beers and it was a pretty wide variety to choose from. Since we didn't know what to get we decided to order a flight of beers to go along with our pizza that we ordered. The food and beer selections were great. After eating we went for a round of mini golf. We had an enjoyable time at Flatstick Pub. The restaurant, the food and the staff were great, and getting to play mini golf after dinner was a welcome treat. Great place to go with friends or even for a fun date night. Give them a try!

Yelp
Super fun place! Games + food seemed a little over priced but it was still good. was loud but servers were nice.

Yelp
If you're coming for anything other than pizza - don't. Ordered a Caesar Salad and it was something you'd find at Applebee's. Lettuce, parmesan cheese sprinkle (the kind you'd put on pizza), and croutons. No shaved parm or pecorino romano as the menu says. Odd customer service. I can't say that they were bad, but I can't say that they were nice. They came across as dry... Beer selection was mediocre. Most of the beers catered to non beer drinkers with most of the beers coming in under 6%. I can't comment on the game area. I really wanted to eat my sad salad, drink my beer, and head on to somewhere better.

Yelp
Great location if you're looking for a spot to hang out, especially with kids. Great menu, wonderful selection of beers. 9 holds off Putt Putt for $10 unlimited play, $5 for duffleball. Board games and other games available for free.

Yelp
My husband and I have been players club members since flatstick first opened in Spokane. I'd argue that flatstick is one of the best things to happen to Spokane in a long time. It's a great place to hang out, serve fantastic food, and is active in the community. I love that they use a local artist out of Seattle to create their interior decor and golf courses. I've never had a bad experience here, I really can't sing its praises enough. Great service, great fun, great people.

Yelp
Came here for a fun evening, the place was packed but found a table right away in the bar area. I paid $40 for a pretzel, 3 chicken tenders with fries and garlic cheese curds. The amount of cheese curds that I received for the price were the best value. The chicken strip basket was super tiny for $14, not worth it but tasty. The pretzel also wasn't worth the price. The food is very mediocre bar food and would not bring me back but their drinks are very good and the games are fun. I came here for a yelp event a couple of months ago and had a better experience then than I did tonight. This is literally an adult chucky cheese. I also hate that they don't accept cash! The pricing is fair for the golf games and is why I didn't leave 3 stars.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
No cash excepted! For me, this is a big red flag, because once cash is no longer allowed to be used as a currency to pay for things , the government could one day, freeze or take all our assets. I don't like to support businesses that don't take money.
google avatar

Bansari S.

Yelp
We went in for drinks and ended up getting pizza too! It was all good! I would say their mixed drink wasn't the best and maybe needed to be stirred more or something. It didn't seem to have alcohol but was extremely sour. But the pizza made up for it! Good quality, good amount, super friendly staff
google avatar

Yelp
Indoor mini golf and many, many beers. It's loud but the music is good A nice way to spend a smoky summer day and still be able to breathe. I had a Groupon too, so BONUS!!
google avatar

Thomas P.

Yelp
Great place for families or coworkers. Great selection of beers. They have A weekday special of two slices of pizza, salad and a drink (beer) for $12. Staff is friendly and the golf courses are entertaining. Definitely will come back!
google avatar

Barrett F.

Yelp
The place its self is very fun with great bears and ciders on tap. I got a pizza with some wings with friends and the pizza was very bad the bread had no flavor and the tomato sauce had no flavor as well. The wings were okay. I'd recommend this place for a good time but not to sit down and eat
google avatar

Yelp
The IDEA of this place and its concept is super cool, my family and I were stoked to try it out but I was truthfully disappointed. We walked in and it was obviously busy, there were a couple reserved tables for parties. We signed up for the mini golf only but there was a party of six in front of us, so we decided to go to the bar first. There is no table service, everything is go to the kitchen or go to the bar - didn't bother us. We got our drinks which were average prices, loved that you could tell how much was in the keg by what was on the TV screen. Once we got our beers we decided to go play, the team of six had moved one hole ahead of us. We were extremely disappointed at the fact that there was no regulation to the golfing, you could take as much time as you needed with no repercussions which made for an extremely slow game. The 9 holes were extremely compact, there was hardly any room to move about and be comfortable. However we loved the keg stands to hold our drinks as we moved about, but only held six drinks which they were placed in between two holes. The group of two or three behind us were extremely pushy and tried to start on the hole we were on more than once. I had actually hit my ball out of bounds and had to move past them twice, both of the guys were hovering behind us and both times I said excuse me, but they didn't budge. I absolutely love the idea of this place, but feel as though there is no room for anything. You are way to close to everyone around you, getting bumped into, no regulations to the mini golf, and the customer service isn't quite there. The best part was playing the large Jenga in the back room which absolutely no one was in.

Yelp
This is a MUST-GO spot! It has everything you would need! Great place for fun, food, family night, date night- any occasion! They have mini golf with super fun and creative holes. They have a games called duffleboard (think mini golf mixed with shuffle board). They have wickets (like croquet but with golf instead). And in the back they even have pockets that's like pool but using golf instead). Every game is so exciting and unbelievably fun! For $10 they have unlimited games and all of them and I highly recommend this! They have lots of tables to eat and hangout. Near the tables they even have board games and giant janga to enjoy. They have lots of drink options (alcohol and not) and their beers are locally sourced. They have good options for food including bar food, pizzas, and salads. There are smaller snack type eats and full dinner options as well. I went with someone who was celiac and couldn't have gluten contamination and the chef was knowledgeable and accommodating. The seats are both booth seating and moveable chairs with tables. Both the bar staff/cashiers were super friendly and helpful! Even in a moment when my friend and I couldn't decided who was paying, the staff flipped a coin to help us decide showing us what a fun environment it was! He also was the one who suggested to do unlimited games and we are so glad we took his advice because we stayed all night! There is street parking as well as a parking garage nearby. There is a mall with a movie theater too if you want to make a day of it. All the fun for wonderful prices and friendly staff- I would give this place a million stars if I could!

Yelp
We hosted our wedding's welcome party at FSP Spokane and couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. They helped us to block space for our group, set up tee times and food in advance. Easy communication and honestly a great value for the price paid & experience. Everyone had a great time. Thank you!
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
This place is great. It was a little late when my wife and our friend were there. But these folks didn't stop cleaning the tables. I watched the same table get cleaned 3 times even when no one sat down. The line was never long to grab drink and the folks behind the bar were quick and very friendly. We all loved this place
google avatar

Cheyenne L.

Yelp
This is a great place to host a group event. We recently hosted what was supposed to be a group of 30. It grew to over 70 overnight. Eric took great care of us, added food to our pre-order, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. The food is great, the drink menu is extensive, and the games are a blast.
google avatar

Yelp
Are you looking for something fun to do in downtown Spokane? Yes, this is your spot. The course is super cute but challenging. We had a lovely time and the people behind the bar were just lovely. We will definitely be back when in town. Thanks for a great time.

Alli P.

Yelp
Food is great, the games are too much fun, and their local beer selection is unmatched! By far my favorite place to hang with family and friends!

Yelp
Came here in a large group setting and it was perfect. Large area to accommodate everyone, special crafted cocktails were refreshing. Bingo night was cool , love the Wickets game!

Yelp
Very few places in spokane have a beer selection as great as this place. Absolutely love it here!

Yelp
Just spent the best evening here, the back nine pizza, fries and wings were delicious. My daughter loved the mini golf, A family friendly place in downtown spokane. Looking forward to coming back for a date night!!

Yelp
The drinks were amazing. Also the Mini Golf was great! Would recommend if you want a nice night away!

Yelp
This is a fun family experience, for all ages. We had a great time here! The service was great and super welcoming. Food tasted amazing. Must go to when in Spokane after 9pm it is for people 21+ so they have something for all ages.

Yelp
Great fun wonderful beer selection staff was fun and enjoyable. Enjoyed the place much. Didn't try the food.

Erika S.

Yelp
The pizza crust is delicious, hand tossed even! The fat slices are huge. We ordered 2 of the salads as well and WOW, super fresh ingredients and so very tasty. They are definitely a new place with a few things to work out, like some signage explaining how things work with food/mini golfing, or the bussing station(s), but overall it's nbd. The service at the front counter was excellent, they were knowledgeable about the beer selections and super nice! My kids enjoyed watching the pizzas being made and of course the mini golf! Love that kids are welcome until 9pm

Windy H.

Yelp
A group went to Flatstick after a conference. We had pizza that was decent. The setting was really fun and active. You order at the desk so there's not much to say about service, it was fast. They don't have a regular bar just items on tap. A few sugary mixed drinks and a decent beer selection. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat dinner there unless I was with a few people and wanted to do mini golf or play games.

Jake G.

Yelp
Great local business focusing on Washington State beer, fun, and mini golf! They also have an awesome selection of ciders, wines, and cocktails. Family friendly, lots of tables, easy to walk in with any size group for lunch or dinner. Semi covered patio outside. They also offer pizza, salads, and some fried options as well. Smiles everywhere, friendly staff. Awesome option for hosting any size party or event!

Mitchell T.

Yelp
What a great family friendly way to have a fun afternoon! The mini golf is definitely a challenging course. I didn't get to play the shuffle board golf game but it looked like everyone was having fun that was playing it. Cheers

Alla V.

Yelp
Wish I could leave zero. This place doesn't care about customer service. They kicked me out for no reason and didn't even let me finish my beer, they grabbed it out of my hands.
google avatar

Yelp
What an absolute disappointing experience. My wife and I finally had a babysitter for our 3 children over 2 years old (we have a newborn, a 2 a 4 and a 6 year old) and while we had our two month old with us. Apparently the server here assumed we were planning to give our child shots or something. We finally got a chance to play some mini golf and get some appetizers, but within 5 minutes, we were told to leave. Apparently they are afraid of us serving a 2 month old alcohol? I have worked in the wine beer and liqueur industry for 18 years now, and unless we were sitting at the bar (we were not) we were wanting to eat and play some mini golf, while we sat at a table (not the bar) but the very rude bearded bartender couldn't respect a parents right to enjoy a night out (sometimes you gotta bring your newborn)
google avatar

Connor D.

Yelp
What can I say about flagstick, at best It's kind of a fun idea. They don't have a full bar the food is meh. They also don't accept cash which is just weird and low key discrimination against the working class and immigrants..... take your elitist agenda elsewhere. I wanted to give a 1 star, but for having a creative spin on the bar concept I'll bump it to 2.

Kasey A.

Yelp
Staff is super friendly and helpful with picking out drinks! They have over 30 IPAs to choose from! Their indoor mini golf is a must to do if you are looking for something fun to do downtown Spokane. I have recommended this pub to all my friends and family that this is a must do when downtown!

Destiny L.

Yelp
This place ALWAYS has the worst service and not at the fault of wait staff. They should staff according to the amount of people who are eating. NOT run their staff ragged trying to keep up with an overwhelming amount of tables. The food is OK at best. If you like overpaying for bar food. The drinks are good though. I'd say save yourself $50 and go to one of the fast food places.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in here for the first time Saturday evening; this is a new establishment, everything was new and upscale, and it was very busy. There is a nine-hole putt-putt golf course and some other games to play. We started with a glass of Chardonnay, which came canned; standard. We ordered the Super Garlic Fries and the Fairway pizza. The garlic fries were hot and had a nice crisp outside and soft inside, plenty of garlic and parmesan cheese, we had the house fry sauce to go along, the fries were excellent. The Fairway pizza came with chicken, pesto, onions, goat cheese, arugula, and mozzarella. The crust was thin and crisp, the toppings were adequate, the pizza was satisfactory but nothing special.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
I am not a big microbrew fan but wanted to go check this place out as I had heard the food was excellent. It did not disappoint! Not only was the pizza excellent, the tots, monkey bread and even salads were delicious! Something for everyone to eat. The sauces were also amazing - curry ketchup and some kind of creamy truffle sauce for dipping tots or fries. Also had microbrew tasters- great to taste stuff and they have a lot of ciders etc. I can't wait to go back and try the other pizzas. Also, download app to see revolving taps. The food is separate tab from bar but that's a Seattle type thing. Weird for Spokane, but fine.
google avatar

Lanette K.

Yelp
Had a fun night out with some friends and tried Flatstick Pub for the first time. We went after 7pm which is adults only (21+). It was busy but not bad, they had certain restrictions in place for Covid-19 guidelines. But the environment and energy was still there. Didn't try any food but I heard the pizzas are pretty good. Had a couple drinks while we played a few rounds. Buy the bundle for duffleboard and mini golf.. it's the better deal for a full experience and not that much more expensive.

Yelp
Although the self imposed American pandemonium has led to the temporary closure of this location, they had managed to be open just prior to all hell breaking loose for a tournament that was worth crossing the pass to participate in for a chance at amazing prizes. If you know the history of Flatstick, you know this is where their family is from, and although they have a lot more locations in Western Washington, this Eastern location is a real gem in the lineup. If I had to rank the locations, this is probably number two overall of my favorite places to visit. In all fairness, it is probably their best overall location based on size, games, and layout. Each location has their own unique charm, but after two visits here and getting exposed to the beauty of Spokane, this one is something special. Smack in the middle of downtown Spokane, only a short bus ride from the airport, you can have a great weekend trip out to the country and get back west before anyone would miss you. The food menu here is transplanted from the South Lake Union location, so if you enjoy eating there, you will probably find something enjoyable. Unfortunately, if you're plant based, you are SOL. Not sure if they have gluten free crust, but if you have specific dietary needs, Spokane has you covered with several nearby plant based alternatives within walking distance. The games are top notch, including the best competitive Duffleboard course you will find in any of their locations. Mini golf here is also highly competitive, with completely unique holes and approaches not seen in previous locations. With the added space, they also have unique games not seen on the West Side, but since everyone has been a bunch of savage, non-mask wearing, zombies, nobody is playing anything for a while. Hopefully, they can continue to weather the storm. Places like Flatstick will leave a huge void if we lose them, but politicians really could care less. Buy local. Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Visit Spokane.
