Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week | Eater LA

"In the Inland Empire Flavor Season’s Backyard Classic smash burger keeps things intentionally simple and delicious — a heavily seared, crusty burger married with pickles, chopped onions, American cheese, and sauce — making it a reliable suburban standout even if the strip-mall setting lacks ambiance." - Eater Staff

Was in the plaza to go to the urgent care and my son asked if we could try this place. We did and WOW!! Truly the best burger I've ever had! The staff was super friendly to begin with, answering ingredient questions to ensure I would be able to stick to my keto diet. So I ordered the smashroom burger, with no mild pepper spread, and no bun, my son ordered the chimichurri steak panini, and my husband ordered the cilantro lime bowl with chicken. They got the smoky mac to share. My burger was soooooo delicious! Comes with angus beef, sautéed mushrooms & red onions in creamy garlic butter sauce, havarti cheese. I ordered the double patty and shared with my hubby and son. They agreed on how good it was. But even so, they said they really liked what they ordered, too. My son thinks the smoky mac should be renamed bayou mac - and I agree! It has creamy four cheese macaroni and cheese, plus shrimp, smoked sausage, bell peppers. Give this place a try - you won't be sorry. As for us, we live 15 minutes away but I think we'll be regulars, including possibly going back tonight!

First thing you notice is how clean and open the place is. Seating both outside and inside, with open space and counter like seating with a large TV. Was greeted immediately by Nash who asked me if I had any questions about the menu. I let him know that I couldn’t decide between the cheesesteak and bbq rib sandwich. He gave me the breakdown and I went with the rib sandwich just because it was kinda unique and I imagined an elevated McRib sandwich, which was ended up being pretty accurate. Really enjoyed the sandwich, but then again, I am a McRib fan as well. Fries were cooked well and tasty. Could have been a little crispier, but then again, I ended up taking my order to go and could have been the commute. My gf got the cilantro lime bowl and really enjoyed it, but I didn’t get a chance to taste it because I was so full from my dish. We shared the spicy corn and agree with many others that it’s a great side dish. A little sweet and a little spicy. My gf added some extra Mayo at home, but it was just fine the way it was for me. Great service and food is all anyone can really ask for these days and Flavor Season hit all the marks. Will have to go back and try the cheesesteak, chimichurri steak and a smash burger! Will update my review accordingly!

Took the wife and kids here for lunch and the food was great. Everything is made to order so it's hot and fresh once food is received. Staff is really friendly. The cook is a nice guy and very attentive. Wasn't able to try the cheese steak as they run out quick so come early for those. Gets a little stuffy eating inside but maybe it's just me.

First time here I ordered the BBQ rib sandwich and I’m amazed they give such big piece of meat on my sandwich. Each bite was flavorful and the chunk of meat was worth the price I paid. All the employees are very friendly and they served the food directly to me. The restroom is very clean which says a lot of their kitchen. Too bad they lost out on the potential of finding a better location. It’s hidden inside a plaza where it’s not very busy but I’m happy they get customers.

Smash burger!!! Great flavor. Fries were seasoned nicely. Ordered the bacon cheese with double patties. Delicious! Got the combo that includes fries and a fountain drink. We also had a beet salad. The dressing wasn’t my favorite but the salad was fresh and yummy. It happened to be my husband’s birthday and they came over with two apple turnovers with two scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel! What a nice surprise! Good food, super nice service!

Finally got a chance to try this place and it's really great. Super awesome workers. The food is great. Really chill environment. We got the bacon cheddar burger combo with bbq ranch and roasted veggie panini combo. Never had a smash burger before but this is really good. The bacon is crispy and the fries taste nice and fresh. The roasted veggie panini is really tasty too. Nice to have veggie options as well. Plenty of sauce options as well. The bbq ranch is a nice addition to any item. I definitely recommend this place and I will be coming back very soon!!!!

The backyard classic burger was delicious, and it tasted like a home-cooked smash burger, which made it all the more enjoyable. I had a side of Mac and cheese, which I was not a huge fan of because it was like a box of Kraft. But some people love that, so maybe this will be your jam. The fries were good and had an excellent seasoning on them. I will definitely return if I’m craving a delicious smash burger.

Was excited to try the food based on the pictures but was a bit underwhelming when trying the food. I got togo and didn’t have a problem ordering and picking up my order at all. It was first a bit hard to find at night, with the light of the restaurant sign not turned on. Food So I decided to order a few items. I can give feedback based on what I ordered : Cilantro Lime Chicken Bowl- the only compliment I would say about this was the chicken seemed to be well marinated, and quite tasty. The inside of the Bowl was what was I believe a bit underwhelming. It had a lot of rice, some unseasoned diced tomatoes and diced onions. Smokey Mac and Cheese- I was actually looking forward to this, but I would say this was just mediocre. It did have a few bits of shrimp and bacon, but it was a bit dry on the top, and maybe it was because I did get it togo. Smashroom - this has good flavor but I believe it was missing more vegetables or something to keep the burger moist. The bun was a bit too soft. Again not sure if this was just because I got togo. I believe with just a few of these items the price may have been a bit high. It cost me $38 for just these items, and I guess I just expected more bang for the buck. I think I would rather stop by a local Habit Burger and get a juicer burger.
