The setting was romantic, the food was good, the drinks were strong, the popcorn was hot and scene was set. We watched love and basketball from this cute little street view booth. Nicely decorated. The perfect Wednesday date night to usher in my boo’s birthday. It’s actually movie night. The volume of the TVs were loud enough so you couldn’t hear other conversations. I’ll be back.

Absolutely delicious! Every bite was immaculate. The staff was attentive and the vibes were great. Perfect date night spot or happy hour with friends. The Mac and cheese is a must have and the stuffed chicken was incredible.

My girlfriend and I dined here over the Fourth of July weekend. I’ll start by saying the food and drinks were good. However, the service was hit or miss. Guests who were seated after us received their drinks before we did, and our food came out quite slowly. We were initially seated in a corner booth next to a plugged-in oscillating fan, and the table was unsteady. Unfortunately, my girlfriend’s drink spilled as a result. The owner was attentive and attempted to fix the table, but when that didn’t work, we had to be moved. Our waitress was okay—maybe she was new or just having an off day. At one point, I was mid-sentence making a request when she turned and walked away. To her credit, she did bring me what I asked for, so she was at least listening. As a Black woman, I try to make it a point to support Black-owned businesses. However, when the level of service doesn’t meet basic standards, I can’t continue to support a place solely based on shared identity. This was my first time visiting D.C., and I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. Sadly, I left feeling very disappointed. I won’t be returning.

-first impression it’s loud as hell in here & cramped -For a 2pm reservation,we didn’t get a waiter until 3pm -Our order wasn’t taken until 3:30 & the food slowly came out, appetizers included -they ran out of crab cakes, pineapple juice & steak for the steak & cheese egg rolls -a chair broke & the GM literally caught an attitude & refused to bring more chairs because they weren’t prepped to accommodate the party size -no consistency in the drinks. One drink had an orange in it the first go round & then we ordered the same drink again & the 2nd time it came out with a lemon & dry ice 😐 ordered the purple rain & it definitely gave lemon drop (and they half way sugared the rim) -the Mac & cheese 9/10, good portion

Way too good!!! - we ordered the lamb chops, Mac and cheese, stuffed chicken and charbroiled oysters. Every dish was a different flavor experience. Too good not to leave a review!

This was my first time visiting this establishment, and I came with no expectations, but I was blown away! The customer service was truly outstanding. The food and drinks matched my palate perfectly, full of flavor and well-prepared. The music was at just the right level, not too loud, so I could enjoy both the atmosphere and conversation. The overall vibe was welcoming, comfortable, and well thought out. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be adding it to my list of favorites! Also, don’t ask about pricing, you pay for what you want.

Yelp
We hosted our chapter dinner here on a Thursday evening and had planned to be seated in a private room. Unfortunately, when we arrived for our 6 p.m. reservation, we learned the restaurant was experiencing AC issues. As a result, we were seated in the main dining area alongside regular guests. With over 45 guests in our party alone, this made for a very hot and cramped setting. Still, we were excited to fellowship together and made the best of the situation. We had prepaid for the evening and selected entrées from a prix fixe menu. Service was impressive given the circumstances. The bartenders moved quickly, and our server Moe was friendly, attentive, and full of personality. I started with a cocktail, the 24th Street, which was not only stunning in presentation but also delicious with just the right amount of kick. So good, I had three! Dinner began with a house salad featuring a light, flavorful vinaigrette, perfect to wake up the palate. For my entrée, I chose the steak frites (medium well). It was just okay. The steak was tougher than I prefer, and not having a steak knife didn't help. The peppercorn sauce, however, was excellent. The Parmesan fries were underwhelming, with only a light dusting of cheese, fine, but nothing special. We shared two family-style sides: mac and cheese and collard greens. The greens tasted canned. Not terrible, but definitely not homemade (no grandmas in that kitchen, lol). The mac and cheese, though, was flavorful and creamy, we even asked for seconds! I also treated myself to the steak and cheese egg rolls after seeing them at another table. They were a hit: crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Food took a while to come out, but with such a large party and regular walk-ins still being served, the delay was understandable. We ended the night with karaoke, laughter, and great conversation. Despite the hiccups, it turned out to be a wonderful evening filled with sisterhood and fun. I'd return.

Yelp
Wonderful vibe and lovely decor. We came out to celebrate a birthday and love to dine at black owned businesses. For food we started with the Buffalo shrimp, corn bread and mussels. The shrimp were a tad salty but flavorful, the cornbread while delicious had a strong rosemary taste that could be overpowering and the mussel broth was delicious that we sopped it up with the bread. For mains we ordered lamb x2, ribeye, blacken salmon, branzino. All mains were a hit, but let me tell you if you love seafood do yourself a favor and have the branzino. The branzino was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and the chimichurri was delicious. Also get some Brussels sprouts and you won't regret it. The side was well balanced and the balsamic paired nicely with the roasted vegetable. As we were celebrating a birthday a choice of cheesecake or chocolate cake was offered. Our celebrant chose the creme brulee cheesecake, but it was not a hit possibly try the chocolate or the peach cobbler bread pudding. I took off one star for the slow service and the odd billing practices. They require a $20pp deposit that's credited to your final bill and a 10% service charge with the expectation to also tip an additional 20% for poor service (long waits between courses, empty water glasses, dropping off food with no serving utensils etc) I would go back because I love the concept, food and vibes, but possibly more for carryout than dining in.

Yelp
There for a friend's birthday dinner, room wasn't ready when we arrived so we waited at the bar. Bartender was new and a little forgetful, but he made good drinks. The drinks were like $16+, a bit pricey in my opinion. I was excited to try the vegan mushroom pepper steak, was a bit disappointed. The fried rice and sauce was overly salted, but the mushrooms and peppers were seasoned just right. Had to send it back due to the saltiness, our server Mo did great with our large party. He offered me something else, which I wasn't expecting. Got the salmon and brown rice, which was seasoned much better and not overly salted. The spot was cute, has an outdoor space and a cute private room. If I do return it'll probably be for happy hour, cuz those drink prices are wild. 4 drinks was over $80!!

Yelp
Food was good and portions are out of control you will definitely get your moneys worth. I enjoyed the 24th street cocktail, presentation of each dish and amazing wait staff. It took a moment to get seated due to our large party size but once seated are waiter was very attentive. The balloons and sleek dark decor made for a nice back drop and velvet plush furniture added a speak easy feel. Only suggestion would be a little less salt on the rice. Allow guest to season to taste. But this is just a personal preference. Support black business!!

Yelp
We went to celebrate a friendship and birthday. Brunch in Sunday is an active experience. The music is quite engaging but a bit challenging if you want to have a conversation. The option to eat outside resolved this problem. The servers were quite accommodating. We had coconut curry mussels for starters which were outrageous. Presentation was great and curry was delicious. One friend had chicken and waffles. She reported it was fabulous. Another friend had fish and grits. She also reported that it was delicious. My shrimp and grits did not disappoint! It was also mentioned that we should have the Mac and cheese. Yes indeed we are not regretting the decision. It was all magnificent.

Yelp
This black owned business is a gem! I've been wanting to come here for a while. And I finally found the opportunity to go! We sat at the bar, as it was happy hour and they had PLENTY of delicious selections. I ordered the rosemary cornbread, curry mussels, charbroiled oysters (they were a bit small), and jerk salmon bites! Everything was delicious. EVERYTHING! Service was a bit slow as it was a very busy night for them. (It was a holiday). However, it happened to be karaoke night (we had no idea); so it made the wait more bearable. This place gets pretty busy quick, so I suggest arriving early or making a reservation. The bartender was keeping up with the demand fairly well. Thank Christina! The restaurant offers dining room, bar, and patio seating. It's not the largest restaurant, but wherever you sit, will be a good spot for the energy that this restaurant brings!

Yelp
The food was phenomenal, per usual! We had a lovely dining experience. The lamb chops were seared to med rare perfection and the flavor was bold, garlicky, with a hint of sweetness. So delicious! The chargrilled oysters are a fav! So much flavor! The ribeye was huge and cooked well with delicious flavor. The Vegan jerk tacos, the buffalo shrimp, the branzino... the branzino was whole and buttery pieces of flavor melted in our mouths. The ambiance was smooth jazz on a Friday night. We will forever come back!

Yelp
Came here for my mother in laws birthday, clearly she likes a good time! I had never been and was delighted to know Thursdays are all night happy hour. Having come from another event I wasnt starving, but everyone raved about the steak egg rolls and wings. I had a Sangria that was not only refreshing, but packed a punch. They also have kareokee, and while I'm often too shy to perform, it was a hoot watching the others. We mainly had bar service which was decent given how packed it was and not very many staff people. The ambiance is loud and bustling, so if you're looking for a lively good time, this is for you!

Yelp
It's a solid place. I love the location, the food was delicious (I had the Chesapeake oysters, Chilean sea bass, buffalo wings, and oyster Rockefeller) and Dante was attentive.

Yelp
This place reminds me of the song 'Don't Believe the Hype'. This place is definitely overrated, especially the brunch. Maybe Dinner will be better but sorry Brunch is not whats happening here. We started with the Mimosas where you had to order the bottle then get Orange or Pineapple juice on the side. They charge you $35 and bring out the cheapest $5 bottle of Wycliff Champagne but tell you there is an option to upgrade for an additional charge When the food came out it was not eye catching at all. The presentation of the food was just that - the food on the plate with no thought put into it. It wasn't prepared the way we ordered it but I was not surprised. I can go on and on about the soggy fried devil eggs or the dry peach cobbler bread pudding. One positive note is they played nice music The guy that brought the food to the table did not speak English nor did he understand what we were saying. The waitress was busy running around she may have came to our table once. They add the gratuities to the bill but at this point I didn't care I was just ready to go. Would I come back? Definitely not for Brunch.

Yelp
My cousin was in town and I decided to check out Flavorture. This restaurant has been on my list for a while now and I'm just happy I finally made it. We went on a Friday night around 7pm and I didn't make reservations. We only had a party of 2 so it was easier to get seated, my cousin was seated immediately and I met her a half hour later. Parking in that area is always difficult so keep that in mind. The waiter was amazing! He was SUPER attentive and made really good suggestions! My cousin ordered a couple mocktails and the jerk jackfruit tacos. She said it was delicious! I ordered the charbroiled oysters and it was ok. I love oysters, but I've had better, it just didn't get me a wow factor. Maybe it was overcooked. I ordered the pork chops and my cousin ordered the coconut curry Tofu. She was very happy that the menu was very vegan friendly and she could order with ease. We also had the roasted balsamic Brussels sprouts and the mashed potatoes. My meal was delicious she very well seasoned. I ordered a Lychee martini with gin and babbbbyyy they did an amazing job! I ordered another! The ambiance was definitely a little darker and gave a nighttime mood. We saw a lot of dates and it started to get busy later on. It was very clean and decorated well. Overall, I had a great experience and I would absolutely return!

Yelp
Flavorture is good date night spot. My guest and I sat at the bar. In addition to the food we had drinks too. My friend ordered from the prefixed menu. I thought the service was pretty good. I felt like that server could have been more attentive, but we still enjoyed our meal.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 2 on 6/30 for brunch. You are required to put down a $20/pp deposit when reserving your table but it counts towards your bill. Located just two blocks down from the zoo parking is sparse but on a Sunday street parking was available a block over from the restaurant. Upon walking up on Flavorture, it's not clear where the entrance is based on the layout but the front door is located under an awning to the left. When walking in you're greeted by a DJ to the immediate left and the bar but it wasn't clear where the hostess station was or where to check in. I walked past the DJ table and the bar before I was greeted by a hostess (maybe ?)who said she'd help me. Not sure where to go, I went back to the front to wait before I was seated by my waitress Kiera. I had: Deep fried deviled eggs - 6/10 - the salmon one was my favorite, the others lacked flavor and the deep fry didn't do anything for the texture. Chicken and waffles - 8/10 - the flavor was solid and the chicken was well fried. The waffle was fluffy and even reheated well in the microwave when I went for my leftovers. The music was great and our waitress was very attentive and the wait time wasn't long which was a plus. My friend had the oysters and crab cake Benedict and didn't have any complaints.

Yelp
I came here for a birthday dinner and from beginning to end everything was absolutely amazing. The service was impeccable and every single thing we ordered was delicious. For starters, we had the charbroiled oysters which we loved! For main courses we had the crab fried rice, salmon, lamb chops and whole grilled branzino. I've never had better branzino! I can't say enough about this place! It took me awhile to get there but I can't wait to return! Special shoutout to Mo who was our server and provided us exceptional service. Hats off to the owners! You've have quite the gem!!

Yelp
I had such a pleasant experience at Flavorture. We had reservations right at the time in which they opened on Sunday, so seating for us was almost immediately and I would recommend a reservation. The food was spectacular from the rosemary butter croissant (super soft and delicious) to the flavorful chicken and waffles (appropriate for the name of the restaurant- Flavorture) to the charbroiled oysters (which are a good shareable size). The beverages did not disappoint either. If possible, it is more convenient to access it via metro, as it's walking distance to the restaurant, but if you can't there is nearby street parking. I absolutely loved the music they were playing which was mostly R&B and the decor - velvet green chair furnishings and table settings! This is a perfect place to go for dates, girl's day out, or just solo grabbing a bite to eat (they have limited bar seating too). Flavorture is on my running list of recommended DC brunch places to eat and I'd definitely go again!

Yelp
Let's start off by saying the vibes were immaculate! I am a lover of afrobeats and Caribbean music and the music was great. I was there for my girlfriend's birthday and the whole group enjoyed the music and the ambiance. Our server was so great the table was a little demanding and she kept her cool and was super sweet and helpful love love loved her. The food was absolutely delicious. Was a tad bit disappointed in the lamb chop size but the steak is huge and everything else was portioned nicely. The GM was super nice to the bday girl would definitely recommend going here !
google avatar

Yelp
I think I've had the best Brussels sprouts in my life here. They weee perfectly charred and sweet. Legit the best. Their crab fried rice has CHUNKS of real crab! Can't get any better than that. Their Mac and cheese is also really cheesy, rich and super delicious. The staff was super friendly, I'm giving this a 4 star only because the space is very small and it can get kinda squishy but in terms of decor AND food, this place is a keeper. A lot of times black owned restaurants get bad reps for customer service but this place is superb. The manager Michael McGlawn was very nice and Mo is hands down the best server there!

Yelp
ATE EVERY LAST CRUMB This place was super cute, and a great place to have a birthday dinner. I do advise, if you have a party over 6 im not sure it'll be too comfortable due to the size of the space but call to see if they accommodate. Parking : I took an uber because of the area and lack of parking but apparently they valet across the street at the omni hotel FYI. Ambiance : 9/10 the layout is well designed for the space they're working within. It is a bit tight when you have a large party. Bar was nice and the seating itself was comfortable. Staff : The hostess was super cool and kept good convo as we waited to be seated. Our server was okay - he missed a few things we ordered and we had to remind him a couple times but he did bring out a birthday dessert with the flashing lights and everything which we really appreciated! Food : The ONLY reason this wasn't a 5 star experience was because of the wait we endured to get our food. We had a reservation @8, by 8:30 our whole party arrived but we didn't get our main entrees until close to 11pm. We didn't leave until almost midnight. BUT i will say they did not disappoint when the food arrived. I will be back for brunch :)

Yelp
I came across some posts on social media for Flavorture and decided to give it a try during one of our weekly Date Nights. Let me just say, i was NOT disappointed with the food! It was absolutely amazing! They have a $40 per person dinner special that we tried so I ordered the stuffed chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and kale caesar salad. The flavor in the chicken and garlic mashed potatoes was nothing like I have ever tasted before! Delicious! My Wife ordered blackened salmon, as well as the mashed potatoes and salad. The salmon was just as good as the chicken! We also had cornbread along with vegan egg rolls and they were tasty as well. The only thing I would recommend is to pack your patience. The service was a tad bit slow for my liking. I understand proper preparation of the food, but at least as a server, communicate to your customers by updating them about the delivery of their food throughout dinner. Aside from that, it was definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Great service! Everyone at this restaurant is very pleasant and helpful. The food is very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is very cute and enjoyable. Perfect for any occasion: date night, brunch with the ladies, or a bite at the bar alone!

Yelp
From the moment I stepped into Flavorture, it was clear I was in for a treat. The aesthetics of this place are nothing short of perfect, offering a unique blend of elegance and whimsy that set a fantastic stage for the evening. Every detail, from the lighting to the furnishings, contributes to an atmosphere that's both inviting and exciting. The wonderful customer service only amplified my experience. The staff at Flavorture are genuinely warm and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. My waitress' recommendations were spot-on, guiding my friend and I through their exquisite selection of dishes and drinks with expertise and grace. And then there's the food - simply banging! Every single dish was a banger.... Every single dish. Never have I been to a place where every customer raves about every single thing on the menu! Each dish was a revelation, boasting bold flavors and impeccable presentation. We ordered the chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, and mash potatoes. My friends went and enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, broccolini, lamb, and more! I am definitely eager to return! The onlyyyy thing I have as a note is that there is not really great parking options. If you are so lucky to get street parking that is a great option. Otherwise there is a hotel across the street that you can pay $20 for parking. But I'd rather pay $20 for that 24th street cocktail! It was tasty, strong, and pretty! Overall, Flavorture is a gem that excels in every aspect - from its perfect aesthetics and wonderful customer service to the banging food. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a dining experience that's as pleasurable for the palate as it is for the eyes and the soul. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This visit was long overdue but well worth it. There are no pics because I was to hungry to snap. Venue like many DC dinning experiences was very small but they offered seating inside at bar or patio. Started my meal off with their brunch menu ordering the croissant as well as the charbroiled oysters and that's joints were fire. Main course I ordered the shrimp and grits and maaaannnn oh man they were extremely saucy seasoned and sensational. I washed it all down with some mango mimosas. Atmosphere was a vibe as there was an awesome DJ. My bartender was stellar she was attentive gave great suggestions on the menu and made sure to double back and check on my needs during a busy day. As always your favorite foodie letting you know if you haven't visited Flavorture what's the hold up.

Yelp
I went there for Sunday brunch. The Deep Fried wings are described as Buttermilk marinated party wings, served with a house prepared mumbo sauce. The sauce was drizzled over the top. The wings had much too much batter on them and they were overcooked. The servers were dressed like club women, not like servers. The music was much too loud. The space is too small to have an actual DJ. There is a sign outside that had the incorrect opening and closing hours for the restaurant. It was a sign that was actually printed by the restaurant. Why would it be incorrect??? I was very disappointed.

Yelp
I went during black restaurant week. The place was empty but soon busy. We went around 5:30ish. Parking is terrible so good luck but I think that's all of DC. Now back to Flavorture.. for the most part the flavor is there but not with the salmon bites. They were fishy and the manager and I agreed to disagree on the meaning of deep fried. Those things were dipped in grease but deep fried negative. The drinks were popping! Atmosphere was nice and dark like a steakhouse. Customer service was good and restrooms were clean. I didn't eat a mean dish but overall I do recommend you at least give it a try. For the restaurant: since this is a black owned restaurant and you have whiskey Wednesday you should incorporate the black owned whiskey brand Uncle Nearest in your drink specials. It's not like you don't offer the brand. Your food is high as hell so you know we'll pay for the drinks too. They are bomb.

Yelp
The food taste good! It's really small inside and intimate. I hated the table we were sat at which seem like they just added bc they were out of space all the way in the back damn near by the kitchen. Table of 2 my 1st time there wasn't impressed with seating. Vibe was cool and drinks were bomb! I had Lemon drop with Reposado tequila.

Yelp
Had a delicious dinner with my bestie and thoroughly enjoyed our meal ! Loved the music and service was amazing. The branzino was one of the best I've ever had and the skillet cornbread was perfect. Everything tasted amazing . Highly recommend if you're in the area. Our server also mentioned they have a great brunch so definitely adding that to my list of things to try!

Yelp
Let me start out by saying this place is underrated. It's a really small restaurant with really nice staff. The ambiance is nice and has a warm yet contemporary feel. They give you a glass of champagne when you enter. We had the oysters, Blackened Salmon, Broccolini, Brussel sprouts, buffalo shrimp, Crab Fried Rice, Macncheese and corn bread. Everything was GOOD!! Please check it out! Note: It's a $20 fee per person to reserve, but it is credited on your bill.

Yelp
Step into a mix of Flavor & Culture, This is a black-owned business and as a DC native born and raised I appreciate everything that this restaurant and experience was when we visited for my first time. If terms like "standing on business" or "on my soul" could be put into flavor this restaurant would be the prime example of such. If someone from DC was to describe this experience in our lingo we'd probably say the following "Aye moe, errythang from dis jawn be hittin' from the service to the atmosphere to the food. If you ain't hit dis spot yet you lunching, get here! stamp " We had a variety of different foods from the wonderful cornbread with unique flavor due to the honey and rosemary butter cornbread, to lobster bisque with Brandy infused cream, to braise short rib sliders, to delicious Skillet mac and cheese, even the lemonade was freshly squeezed and tasted great! We also celebrated our one year anniversary and had a nice acknowledgment of this with a sign and champagne. We ended the night with delectable bread pudding with what tasted like a cinnamon based ice cream. Chef Pinke who is the owner has created a staple in the neighborhood for a wonderful cultural experience. Everything was nicely done and well prepared. The bar was also stocked really nicely and presentation with the lighting of the atmosphere was on point. They also had big Mike doing karaoke and you can ask for the "Big Mike special" of your drink which includes double of whatever you're having. This was such a memorable experience for us both and we will be sure to return, if you haven't been here already what are you waiting for? Get here! Thank you chef Pinke and Chef Mac, you can definitely tell that someone's grandma raise them right in the kitchen because there is love in that food!

Yelp
Flavorture has been on my list for a while and we finally made it. We were greeted and sat immediately for our reservation. Our server was pleasant and explained the menu to us. We ordered oysters for our appetizer and drinks. The 24th st cocktail was tasty and aesthetically pleasing. For my entree I decided on buffalo shrimp and the kale Caesar. Everything was bomb and met our expectations. The manager came over to greet us and make sure we were satisfied. I want to return to try their brunch. They have hookah during brunch. I recommend dining at Flavorture perfect spot for any occasion.

Yelp
Went to flavorture with a group of friends 2 weeks ago on a Saturday night and we had an amazing time! The food was delicious, for appetizers we got the Caesar salad, prime rib sliders, cornbread, and oysters. The oysters were literally seasoned to perfection, mouthwatering! We all agreed 10/10, the best oysters I've ever had. The Caesar salad was okay, i think the kale made it difficult to absorb the dressing so it tasted a bit dry. Short rib sliders were pretty good too, sweet and savory! The cornbread... STAR of the show!!! It had a delicious honey butter touch to it. For entrees we got the salmon, steak, chicken and for sides Brussels, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes. This restaurant is one of those restaurants were you order everything separate. Salmon was 8/10, chicken 7/10 and rib eye 6/10. The steak was just a bit too sweet for my liking and didn't care for the seasoning. But for the size it's definitely worth the price. The salmon had a delicious ginger glaze to it. Chicken was paired nicely with sundried tomatoes and Cajun cream sauce. The sides were all delicious, one of the best Brussels I've had. The mashed potatoes and Mac were delicious too! The drinks were pretty good too! We had to make a reservation but even with the reservation, our table wasn't ready for another 10-15 min. The restaurant is also pretty small and seats are pretty close together but nonetheless the service and good food made up for that! Definitely a must try!

Yelp
We liked everything about Flavorture. The ambience is very nice. The restaurant was quiet on the Saturday night when we went at 6:30. I had a 24th Street as a cocktail & liked it very much. The distinctive part was that dry ice had been added so there was steam floating up from it. The drink was sweet but good. For a starter we shared an order of broiled oysters. They were very tasty. For my entree I had the lamb chops prepared medium rare. They were spectacular! Perfectly prepared & very flavorful. Tom had one of the four that came in a serving. Tom had the lobster & blue crab scampi. He was very happy with it. His only criticism was that the lobster was hard to get out of the shell & had no problem. We also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts & they were delicious too. Crispy & very rich.

Yelp
One of the hardest things about dinning in DC is consistency. I love it here because the food and the service is ALWAYS good! Great for night out with friends or your boo! I love the egg rolls, buffalo shrimp, ribeye steak and broccolini just to name a few. But don't say the steak isn't good and you order it well done lol. Ps. Writing this while crushing my leftovers

Yelp
First, let me say I've visited Flavorture twice so that I can write an accurate review. My first visit was for Sunday brunch. The food is tapas style and very delicious. The mimosas are decent. I love the oysters, the wings, and salad. I was just disappointed we were put in a back room and the table was tight. Brunch can cost you over $80-90. So be prepared that they add that 22% to the bill. So, a week ago (Saturday night) I dined here for a pre Father's Day dinner. When we walked up, I was the only one offered sangria by the hostess. My other half was not offered. The hostess was not the friendliest. Negative star. We were greeted by "moi Moi. Who was our server. He was very nice. Although, we never got our corn bread and he disappeared for a while. There was a woman who kept checking in on us who was nice. For a Saturday night in DC, I was a little disappointed it didn't have the upscale vibe I was expecting. A lot of the diners seemed super young. Here are the dinner items I enjoyed: -Charbroiled Oysters -House Wings -Scampi Pasta I love that this spot is Black owned. Unfortunately , parking in woodley park is hit or miss. The restaurant doesn't have valet so make sure you add 30 mins to find parking.

Yelp
Flavorture has been on my foodie list since they opened! When my friend chose this for her bday, I was stoked! I went last Wednesday to celebrate my friends birthday. When you walk through the door you are offered complimentary champagne. I arrived early so I sat at the bar. They have Happy Hour all day Wednesday so you know I took part. They had raw oysters for $1 and whiskey sours for $7. I ordered a half dozen & a drink till the rest of the party arrived. The bar seats are a little low for the bar-top. I felt like I needed a booster seat, nonetheless, its a beautiful bar to sit at. The restaurant is pretty small so I was curious where our party of 12 was sitting. They have an intimate room for parties which was nice. Our server Unique was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of! A lot of the staff were checking in, going above & beyond making sure we were having the best experience. We even had the pleasure of meeting Chef Sam!!! We ordered a lot of food so I tried quite a bit. The raw oysters were amazing. The wings are a must; juicy & flavorful! The lobster and blue crab pasta was perhaps my favorite. The brussels were crispy & full of flavor. The 10 cheese mac n chz had great taste. I also ordered the charbroiled oysters, they were pretty salty & didn't remind me of the ones in Nola. Besides that, everything was BOMB & the food came out very timely despite 12 of us. There was amazing teamwork & Chef Sam knows what he doing. Bless Him! Last, The bartenders make great drinks here! They packed a punch but were balanced beautifully. Overall, 9/10 I can not wait to come back and try more items. Thank you for all the hospitality & making not just my friend but everyone in the party feel special. P.S. Arrive early to find parking, this is a reservation you do not want to miss. The bathrooms are decorated beautifully so ladies go take a pic lol. This beautiful restaurant is also black owned and done well. I commend yall!

Yelp
Hey Foodies and Flavor Explorers, I just had to drop you a line about my recent culinary escapade at FLAVORTURE, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a flavor fiesta! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and charm that set the tone for the entire experience. The ambiance? Think cozy meets chic, with just the right amount of funky flair to keep things interesting; especially the music. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food! The drinks were absolutely on the spot. I tried the CALVERT STREET SPICY MARGARITA $16 and ESPRESSO MARTINI $16 Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with creativity and flavor that left my taste buds dancing with delight. From the zesty appetizers (JERK JACKFRUIT TACOS (2) $12, BUFFALO SHRIMP (3) $14 to the decadent entrees (VEGAN PEPPER STEAK $25, GRILLED LOBSTER & CRAB SCAMPI $48 , every bite was a symphony of taste and texture that kept me coming back for more. Lets not forget the sides too (COLLARD GREENS $9, ROASTED BALSAMIC BRUSSELS $9) everything was delish! And can we talk about the service? I had Mo and he was giving me life, but the chef came to talk to me and the manager Marvin. It was top-notch! The staff at Flavorture are true culinary wizards, effortlessly weaving their magic to ensure that every diner feels like royalty. They were attentive, friendly, and oh-so-knowledgeable about the menu, making recommendations that were absolute game-changers. So, if you're looking for a dining experience that's as unforgettable as it is delicious, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! For the quality of the food I think the prices are great so if you're gonna try different dishes like I did, be prepared to receive a $225 bill which includes a 22% service charge (this I don't agree with, it's too high and takes away from the great experience). Bon appétit UniBou.com

Yelp
I always look forward to trying out a new brunch spot. And after hearing about this new, black owned restaurant- I was not only excited by what I saw from the menu options but also looking forward to supporting! Never have I ever experienced such loud music while trying to eat. I was confused as to whether the focus was creating a club vibe with food, or a restaurant with good music. After 30 mins, we asked to be moved to a different table - and luckily it meant we could somewhat hear each other speak during the meal. Their brunch at Flavorture is different to your regular bottomless food brunches. You don't have the option to choose what you would like to try from the menu... It's all bought out to you in bite size portions. Not a great idea in my opinion - I'd like to be able to choose my own food. Overall I was really disappointed. Maybe the experience would be different if I had gone for lunch or dinner - because then I could chose what I want to eat. But I'm not in a rush to go back.

Yelp
Nothing like being the first, so when you hear that in 2023, Flavorture is the first black owned restaurant in Woodley Park, it's a bittersweet reality for me. That said, my fingers were crossed that this groundbreaking restaurant was worth the unfathomable wait! I'm ecstatic to report that Flavorture has done an outstanding job fitting into this exclusive DC neighborhood quite nicely. Flavorture is small but packs a powerful punch! It has a very nice heated patio area before entering the relatively narrow space, with a large bar and limited seating (be SURE to make a reservation). The hostess greeted us with a complimentary glass of champagne which is always a nice touch. Recently, this has become somewhat of a trend with the new sexy boutique styled restaurants.. love it! We had the best seats in the house, next to the window giving us a birds eye view of the entire restaurant. I believe there's another small dining area near the restrooms, however, we didn't make the trip to see. I was a tad bit thrown off by the New Orleans themed decor because other than the two oyster appetizers, the menu didn't match. Flavorture is in a word "Flavorful" pun intended..lol! The food was outstanding and seasoned to perfection. I am a HUGE lamb lover and I can't remember having better! My friend opted for the Lobster and Crab scampi which was mouthwatering! The Chesapeake Charbroiled Oysters were large and loaded with lump crab, but I needed two more to satisfy that glorious taste that hit my mouth..LOL Flavorture is definitely not a casual restaurant. Be prepared to drop like you would at any other fine dining establishment in the DMV and 22% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Although I'm a generous tipper anyway, I'm not a fan of this practice. As a champion of minority owned businesses, as long as you treat me right, I'll treat you right. Flavorture will definitely be a place I frequent when I want something GOOOOD in my mouth!! In reality, Flavorture would get 4.5 stars if Yelp would ever implement the half star option, but I rounded up this time because this is a historic restaurant with unbelievable tasting food!!

Yelp
Stopped by Flavorture, for the first time, for brunch this past weekend and I was extremely pleased -- this didn't disappoint at all! Brunch in DC is a big thing, no matter the weekend, so of course the restaurant was packed upon arrival. While the restaurant is rather small, it's to be expected given the area the restaurant is in. Nevertheless, the liveliness of the restaurant and the DJ playing my favorite music quickly took my mind off how small the space was. I was seated in the area in the back and the decor and aesthetic gave exactly what I hoped it would -- modern and upscale. There were chandeliers and balloon fixtures in the ceiling and the tableware was perfectly situated and cute also. For food, I tried charbroiled oysters to start and while they were just OK, my entree, the Cajun Shrimp and Grits, made up for where the oysters lacked. My friends both ordered wings (sweet jerk flavored wings and plain fried wings) and Mac and cheese and they both said the meal exceeded their expectations. The service was a bit slow, but our server, the manager, and the kitchen staff were all very apologetic for the time it took for us to receive our meal. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Flavorture and will definitely be returning to try out more of their menu very soon.

Yelp
I am really glad I tried this establishment. I love to support black owned business. My experience was marginal but I see the potential for this restaurant if they can tweak some noticeable discrepancies. I would like to say that all the food I sampled from everyone's plate was flavorful with great presentation, but the cleanliness of the utensils and the glasses was disappointing. I am a big fan of Kirkland's brand Prosecco, but almost $50/bottle was overpriced. Regarding our service, our server was very knowledgeable and hospitable. I definitely recommend Sarah if you choose to visit. The live band was a great touch to the dining experience. It wasn't overly loud being in the separate dining room from the bar area, but I am sure it's really loud in the main restaurant and takes away from the intimate dining experience.

Yelp
his restaurant has highly seasoned food, which was great. I sat at the bar and experienced an array of items. The co owner was bartending the night I visited and was really accommodating. The location is small, but was packed with patrons. And the decor was modern.

Yelp
The ambiance was amazing. The food was beyond delicious and the service was on point! Reagan took great care of us. We will be back for dinner. I love how you literally try everything on the menu. Every item was well prepared. If you are planning to come, don't eat all day because it is so filling. Our server never allowed our cup to get empty. Run, don't walk. It was worth every penny spent! 28/10 I highly recommend.

Yelp
Finally got a reservation to Flavorture. I went for brunch and had a nice time. The dj played allll the right songs and the restaurant in general had a nice, chill vibe. The food was really good but pricey especially for a brunch. I didn't see that much hype to pay $85-$90. Tip: Parking is slim to none so I would suggest Uber. Also, the metro is a few feet away.
