Definitely my favorite restaurant I ate at during my four day visit to Nashville. Hidden, off the beaten path in Printer's Alley - but absolutely worth the walk over from the busy Broadway area. The food was phenomenal, all made from scratch and was not what we were expecting. We were thinking bland English fish n chips and beers - and instead we got the best Shepherd's Pie I have ever had, great appetizers, especially the Blackfriars Fries. The Michelob Ultra girls were there as well, so we ended up with some cool swag and free beers. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a drink and an entree here - you will not regret it.

3/24 Update: Finally stopped in and got dinner here. I got the lamb burger and my partner got the fish and chips. All delicious! If you've never tried mushy peas, you need to try them! We stopped in here after a show at the Ryman Theater and got a couple of good drinks and snacks. They have a great selection of beer. A lot of European beers but also some good local choices too. We shared a few appetizers and they were delicious! The deviled eggs were awesome and full of flavor. We also tried the chips and curry sauce which was also awesome. (Forgot to take a pic though, oops) Service was good. The bartender was friendly and our food came out fairly quickly. All in all, a great chill place to hang out in Nashville! Can't wait to come back.

We just popped in for a cocktail with friends. Quaint English Pub style restaurant/bar. We didn't eat anything so I can't speak for the food. The service was average. The style was fun. The atmosphere was casual-people of all ages and styles. The old fashioned was tasty.

This is a great place to escape the tourist crowded streets of Nashville. My wife and I hit just about every bar downtown Nashville, but always returned to Fleet Street Pub for a relaxing drink and great conversation with people from all over the world. Ian, our bar tender yesterday was from London and a delight to talk with. We met friends from Ireland and all over the US. I had their Fish and Chips during one visit and it was "outstanding". We split their burger for lunch and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

If you're looking for an authentic pub experience with a unique vibe, Fleet Street Pub is the place to be! From the moment you step in, the atmosphere transports you straight to England, with its cozy yet lively ambiance. Even the bathrooms add to the experience—with their striking red doors and eclectic decor, every detail here feels intentional and fun. The food was fantastic. We had the chicken pie, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly hearty. The fish and chips delivered exactly what you'd expect from a classic English dish—crispy, golden-battered fish and perfectly cooked chips. The burger was solid as well, hitting all the right notes for a satisfying bite. On top of that, the service was stellar! Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we never had to wait for a refill—our drinks seemed to appear as if by magic before we even finished the last sip. Fleet Street is an excellent late-night spot tucked away in Printer’s Alley, making it a great find for anyone craving a welcoming, warm, and delicious pub experience. Highly recommend checking it out!

Google
The waitress said the Fish and Chips is like top 10 in the US. It was really good. Fish pieces were big and very tasty. Also got the lamb sliders as they were suggested. Lamb sliders were alright. The bread pudding stole the show! Beat bread pudding I have ever had. Takes ten minutes to prepare and it was worth it. Almost wish we got 2 of them it was that amazing!

Google
Coming from england and finding this gem was great. Best fish n chips in a long time batrer perfect. Quiet afternoon but premier league footy was on. Toilets amazing too. Shame about the arsenal flags but cant win everything....

Google
Basement located pub in the alley, which is open late night. Veggie burger and fries were fine. They had a bow and arrow game but arrows were missing. Staff was unbothered when we asked. The ceiling definitely needs a refurbishment, it looked so dirty and dead.

Yelp
Off the beaten path that provides a quieter Nashville venue. Service is always prompt and provides a wide beer and spirit selection. Always great to hang for a few hours.

Yelp
If you need to get away from the madness of Broadway, Fleet Street pub is a good option. No live music and a place to have a conversation at a reasonable sound level. Can't speak to the food as we just stopped in for a quiet drink and it was a pleasant enough experience. If you're into football (real football, not throwball) you'll probably feel at home here even though they seem to think Arsenal are a worthy team to support. I guess they enjoy feeling hopeful for 3/4 of a season then hopeless for the last 12 games. Anyway, good top shelf Scotch selection for a bar in a city where Bourbon and Tennessee whiskey take top spot. Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Dalmore all available for the connoisseur - Macallan for those who don't know any better.

Yelp
Two words: Lamb Burger. Very flavorful and the fries with it were excellent. A big thanks to the employee I ran into with the purple hair who recommended I stop in. Also, Bella was such a pleasant waitress. Very kind and attentive. I will certainly be coming back. Be sure to check out their lunch special! Great pub atmosphere and a solid crowd.

Yelp
The fish and chips special for lunch is a great deal!!! It was really good fish and chips and our server Dale was great!

Yelp
I stopped into Fleet Street while in Nashville looking for a beer and a snack. Located in the cool area of Printers Alley, the pub is underground. It's a cozy spot with friendly service with some great traditional pub food. It's got a few couches and some additional good seating for small groups as well as regular restaurant and bar seating. I'm still thinking about the curry fries
google avatar

Brandie A.

Yelp
Super underrated. We had the fish lunch special and it was some of best fish we have had - put Gordon Ramsays fish place in Las Vegas to shame. Bella was one of the most friendly and helpful bartender came across and we enjoyed our quick stop in! Fish/chips and a pop for 7.50 can't beat it! We will be back in the evening to try some of the beers!!!

Yelp
While visiting Nashville, we stopped by for an early dinner. I ordered deviled eggs as an appetizer and lamb burger with a side of potatoes for my meal. The food was prepared perfectly and tasted great. I also had several of their British import beers that were on tap, cold and refreshing. They have a great vibe and beautiful bar to remind you of European pubs. This is definitely a must stop in Nashville.
google avatar

Yelp
Not bad....mashed potatoes were cold.....but I was hungry.....decent vibe...............

Yelp
Food was just ok. Service was really poor. Not sure if short staffed or just inattentive waitress because it took forever to to get food and I sat and waited and waited to pay. Finally just took it up to bar to pay as my entire party was outside and waiting for a good 10 min. All of our drinks kept being delivered to our husbands table which was next to us. My Pimm's Cup was decent. Order some chips and French onion dip for for an appetizer but didn't come out until most of our party was completely done with their meal. Did have great music!

Julianne L.

Yelp
Lovely. I've taken several trips to the UK and love the traditional foods there. Today I tried Fleet Street Pub. It had that same vibe, even to ordering at the bar for delivery to a table. I went there for the shepherd's pie, but because I can't eat red onions I ordered the bangers and mash instead. Oh, my, it was good. I'd like to go back, but the parking there is absurdly expensive. $25 for two hours, and one hour wasn't nearly enough for a liesurely lunch that cost only $19 and change, including the tip. And I'm still looking for a shepherd's pie with no red onions.

Savannah B.

Yelp
Came for a Saturday Arsenal game and sat at the bar. Amazing fish & chips and even better service.
google avatar

Arthur B.

Yelp
Solid English Pub. Kind of has a British grunge theme to it. The cod fish and chips were on point and definitely worth getting especially if you're drinking a lot. Service was very good. Bathrooms are in the front.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place while in the Printers Alley music neighborhood in Nashville, TN Sun Sep 24 2023. We were exploring different music venues nearby when we spotted this place. A British style pub in Nashville? Surprised us for sure. It was authentic in atmosphere, food, drink, & recorded music. Also has satellite feed for UK & Euro league soccer which draws early morning crowds at 9:00am b/c of the 6 hour time difference . The friendly bartender Chelsey K was quite helpful and gracefully answered the usual tourist questions. A great selection of UK draft beers ($7) served in an Imperial measure glass (20 oz US). Very good Picadilly fish (cod) & chips w/ malt vinegar ($15) and my bride had the beef sliders special ($12). Many good menu choices including Arsenal breakfast: Classic full English breakfast with two eggs, bacon, banger, baked beans, charred tomato, toast, and orange marmalade - all day ($14). Fun place for a pint, meal, & a football (soccer) match. Thank you to the Chelsey & the staff. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY USA

Yelp
After meandering up and down Broadway, we decided we needed a bite to eat. Hit up Printers Alley to check things out and found Fleet Street. We were intrigued, so we stopped in. It is a very dark and dungeoning feeling inside but we were kinda digging the vibe and the laid-back kind of atmosphere. I started with the Vesper martini, really yummy. Ordered the chips that came with a French onion dip. Very good. It looked like the chips might have been overcooked, but they were not. Bonus: They weren't greasy either! For dinner, we chose to split the lamb sliders. They came with scalloped potato slices and a salad. Everything was really good, except it could have used more sauce! So why the four stars and not 5!? After waiting a long time for sliders, we had to inquire; it turns out our plate was served to another table. We ended up having to wait about 20 minutes more for them. Not great communication; however, we will be back next time in Nashville. It was an awesome reprieve from the crazy crowds of Broadway and set us up nicely for the rest of the evening:)

Yelp
Only British part of this "pub" was the Arsenal flag hung by the entrance. staff is too worried about eating at the bar and socializing with co workers. no actual English beers on tap. Honestly should be a self served bar. Definitely go to Alley Tap across the street or the Blues bar 50 feet away from it. cold hospitality overall

Jerry B.

Yelp
The entrance was cool, to enter one must walk down into a basement and its like you enter a portal from Nashville to England, it was very English pub themed, (very well done) after that everything was below average. Food, service etc. Its hard to suggest this place with so many decent bars nearby.

Yelp
*Updated Review* I originally posted a negative review for this pub due to a horrible experience I had with one of the managers. However, I am updating my review because the owner personally reached out to me to hear about my experience, apologized profusely, and resolved the issue within a matter of hours. I went with some friends to watch the Arsenal match on a Sunday morning and the place was packed full of fans! The atmosphere was great and everyone cheered together throughout. Considering the size of the pub, they were very accommodating of the mass amount of people. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and drink service was very quick. It was incredibly busy so there were delays with food service but mostly everyone was served regardless. I believe the incident I experienced was rare given the friendliness of the other staff so I can't knock the business for the actions of one person during a very stressful rush. This is a great local spot to watch a match and meet some fellow fans, I definitely recommend and will be going back in the near future.
google avatar

Terry B.

Yelp
Very authentic fish, stew and shepherds pie. But the "chips" couldn't be further from accurate. True uk chips are short stubbies 1/2" squares the are crisp and pillowy. For some reason they are serving small wedges that are limp. Other than the chips everything was great tho.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
English breakfast is amazing !!! We came 3 times. Just a fantastic fun establishment in a town of fakery. It's like being transported to London. A+
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
Love the authenticity of this pub, downstairs, dark(ish) good selection of brews. Our waitress was attentive but seemed to have a lot to balance. We would definitely go back and stay longer. We were rushed this trip.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
Was in town for a friend but wanted to watch the Arsenal match before we went to brunch. This pub is an Anglo-files dream. So much fun on a Saturday morning drinking and watching soccer! There are plenty of tvs and seating all around. Since I'm an Arsenal fan I was particularly appreciative of the scarves, flags and dozens of likeminded fans. Arsenal whipped Leicester 4-2 and I enjoyed every bit of banter with the English man from Leicester who was also in town and was just trying to find a spot to watch his club. Great atmosphere and I would 100% come back if I'm in town again.

Yelp
Being british, I always try and visit a british pub on holiday. But I have to say, we just missed the lunch specials by 15 minutes, got charged full price, which I'm sure is the same amount of food. Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed.

Yelp
First stop/meal in Nashville and I was super excited, but left so disappointed. I was worried that my entire time in Nashville would be similar to this experience, but thankfully I was wrong. We got a few drinks to start off the night before we ordered food. However, once we had our drinks it was IMPOSSIBLE to get either bartenders attention unless our drinks were empty. They avoided eye contact very hard. We had asked for waters and not given them - normally I don't care too much but it was around 8pm and we had been traveling all day so I was verrrrry thirsty. I'm not picky at all, but I noticed my friend's water glass was cracked/broken, so we switched. I started getting nervous there could be some tiny shards of glass in my drink, so I let the bartender know and asked for a new water. She poured the water from the broken glass into another glass.....so if there was any glass shards in the initial glass it would still be in my drink. Whatever, I just drank it and hoped for the best. For food, I ordered the lamb burger and it was delicious. So flavorful and perfectly cook, as were the fries. Definitely a great meal. My friend ordered the shepards pie and it was a super small portion. They had informed her they were out of mashed potatoes - figured they would put extra meat or something but overall the dish just looked sad. However, it did have good flavor. Definitely much better places in the area to eat. I get that it was busy, but all other places we subsequently went that were super busy had far better service than here.
google avatar

Maresa P.

Yelp
Sarah was phenomenal as a waitress! Both male bartenders were equally as wonderful. The atmosphere is perfectly English pub. We were leaving to eat but had a look at the menu & it was as fabulous!!! Not the typical bar food & all was delicious. We will come here specifically to eat. I liked the games available too darts, cards etc).

Charles C.

Yelp
Went there on our 40th anniversary. Basically empty. Asked if we could watch the Masters Tournament. Server said that her boss said "we don't watch golf in here"
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Great place to hand out ciders and beer. At least my husband and I both thought it worked well. They have some food and we decided one night to have the fries. The fries were good and would recommend them. They have darts that are free with an ID that the bartender keeps while you play. Also note it is a very dark bar and can be a time suck. Enjoy!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Three trips to Nashville, and three trips here. This is the place to chill and have a conversation between all of the insanity. Take a load off, meet some cool locals, and grab some pub grub.
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
We met up with part of our group here. Located downstairs in Painters Alley - it was a little hard to find at first. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and then only had ONE bartender and ONE waiter working. They were working their butts off but they just couldn't keep up. We had to wait for quite a while to order a drink at the bar. We wanted to get food but couldn't ever flag the waiter down to place an order. Overall, we were really disappointed. We wouldn't go back.

Chelsea Rae D.

Yelp
Our bartender Chelsey was absolutely amazing! Super attentive and very helpful with the menu! You can't go wrong with any of their burgers or great british beers on draft!

Yelp
Night 1 in Nashville. Broadway burnout happened fast. Like I can go the rest of my life never again seeing a cover band while wading through masses of people in denim and fringe hobbling around in cowboy boots they bought a couple of hours ago, and let's not forget the woo girls ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2mW1N0gSUk ) On the walk back to the hotel to escape all that mess, we saw a sign for a basement bar - the Fleet Street Pub. Dark. Brick. Decent music playing. Iron Maiden beer on tap. Just then, lots of attendees from the Megadeth show that night come rolling in. Honey, I'm home. Would've eaten here had the drama to follow at Daddy's Dogs been foretold, but a night of fake moonshine prior to our arrival here dimmed the psychic light. Thank you, Fleet Street, for being a respite from pink cowboy hats and Rascal Flatts tribute bands.
google avatar

Tom R.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Loved the curry fries, lamb sliders. Great cocktails, and the ambiance too. Just like their story says, great music in the background, songs you know, and still able to talk to each other.
google avatar

Jean S.

Yelp
We come twice. First time fish and chips. The fish was very bland. So next time I had a bacon butty. The bread was dry no butter. The chips ( French fry's) were cold and tasted like they had been cooked early today and then reheated. Still cold. Sorry gave you two chances. Won't return.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
I wouldn't eat here. Look at the decor on the ceiling. It's insulation but it's covered in dust. Looks like mold. We asked and they want it to look that way! We grabbed open seats at the bar and looked at each other. It smelled like piss all around us. We each got up and checked at around the bar, no smell. Just then, other seats opened and we grabbed them, no smell. We told the bartender about the pee smell but he couldn't have cared less and did nothing. I'll send my enemies here.
google avatar

Maddie C.

Yelp
Decently surprised is an understatement. I went here expecting bar food, but it wasn't your traditional bar food. The potato soup was hands down the best potato soup I've had, and I've had a lot. I also got the loaded fries (the more carbs the better (; ). I'm very picky about bacon and it was cooked perfectly. So crispy. Unsure why it came with a sauce because it has so much flavor i didn't even use the sauce. Server was kind and timely. Would love to come back here to watch a soccer game someday, as I can assume it would be a very fun environment.

Yelp
Such a cool spot! A hidden gem! Here on St Patrick's day which is absolutely perfect because this is such an authentic Irish/English pub. Dimly lit, brick walls, Guinness and other Irish brews on tap, soccer on all tv's (even when it's March madness), this is the place to be if you want to escape the country music scene. Delicious beers and excellent customer service!
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
This place. :) I just can't say enough positive about it. We found it trying to find a place to eat near Printer's Alley. What we walked into may be one of Nashville's hidden gems. The prices are so ridiculously inexpensive, especially Nashville. They are so low, that I actually found myself wondering if our beers were going to be $15 a piece to compensate. (They weren't!) Speaking of beer! They have a nice English/Irish selection. We found some good stuff, but they also had a couple tasty IPA's that I enjoyed. A+ on beer selection. And the prices were very affordable! The ambience of this place is super chill. It reminds me of a great English pub that I love in Boston. Whether you like a good bar stool, a bench, or a pub table, you will find it here! Lots of tables that will accommodate big groups, and some cozy spaces for quaint pub chats. And the service was exceptional!!! Some of the best in Nashville. Now back to the food. It so far exceeded my expectations. We tried a cup of the Brixton Beef and Dumpling stew, the Charing Criss Chips, Piccadilly Fish & Chips, and the Fleet Street Chicken Pie. Every single bite was delicious. I have eaten at a lot of places in Nashville and this one was one of my favorites!!!
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
I'm biased, but I love this place. I had my first date with my now wife here...hence the bias. Fleet Street is one of the few places in town that serve absinthe with a water drip fountain and sugar cube and they have some of the more authentic British cuisine you can get in nashville. Vibes like a dive with lots of space. Only downside is that last I checked they still allow smoking...just not my jam. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Doug S.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in on a whim. We sat at the bar and slowly realized there was a stench of urine in the air. We thought maybe it was an accurate recreation of the London Underground odor. We moved seats and clearly the odor was localized, but after we informed the bartenders nothing was done to clean the area. They either didn't believe us or just decided urine odor was ok at this bar. It's a shame. This could be a good place, but our experience was ruined.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
Absolute go-to for downtown dining. The staff are always friendly, though occasionally slow. But the food is fantastic. A full portion of fish and chips is a filling meal for two (definitely get the mushy peas. Absolutely excellent). The lunch specials are fantastic and they have a perfectly poured Guinness. Best of all, the crowd is typically laidback and they have a great playlist/jukebox
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
My Nashville food tour continues, this time we ended up at a hidden little bar in Painters Alley, and I will have to say out of the 10+ other establishments we visited today this was by far our favorite food wise. Everything was absolutely perfect, wings cooked to perfection, authentic stew and great homemade chips, felt bad for the bartender she seemed a little overwhelmed they could def use some help but other than that I highly recommend this place. The price is also something to take note of, two blocks down you'll be paying 20 dollars for two beers, come up here and you can get an entire meal and beer for a little over 30, def felt like the cool local spot in town.

Hffreek V.

Yelp
Was visiting Nashville and passed by this pub. Its in a cellar, kinda dark, lot of different patrons, interesting vibe. Didn't eat anything but I got to tell you the Guinness on tap was superb!
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
We've been to this little pub several times and have had a great experience each time. Ambiance is amazing. Service is excellent. Vesper martini and fish and chips are incredible. We love this place!
google avatar

Lucas R.

Yelp
A real good English pub. The wings are amazing. If you like a divey pub hit them up.

Tracey H.

Yelp
I can't speak to the service or the food, but I can say it smells like a damp basement and about 1 minute after we sat down at the bar, I noticed a cockroach crawling toward me. I've never left a place so fast.
google avatar

Veronica P.

Yelp
Holy chicken pot pie! Definitely come visit this restaurant when you are in the area, and definitely order the chicken pot pie! Its so tasty and very hearty. I split the dish with a friend and while it looked small, half was very filling. They also have some great cocktails on the menu. Its very rare I find a restaurant with a Vesper on the menu so kudos to you!
google avatar

Martin O.

Yelp
Like a little underground dungeon in the heart Of Nashville, good place to find some British Style food, fish and chips, bangers and mash etc. Lots of little nooks and crannies if you want Somewhere to hide and have a quiet drink. For those who might be interested, it's also the Local for Chelsea football supporters in Nashville, so if that's your thing, you'll find them In there whenever there's a game.
google avatar

Rene' C.

Yelp
Terrible food... terrible service .. do not eat here late at night .. went here after the cowboys/titans game ... just a bad experience all around.
google avatar

Stefphanie H.

Yelp
This cute place reminded me of a speakeasy. It's quiet and noisy at the same time. The noise from nearby bars can be heard. However it's a nice respite from crowds. Great food and drinks. Great price.
google avatar

Abbie N.

Yelp
Came here to meet up with some friends and it was perfect. Not so many people where we felt crowded but a good amount of people and nice music. We ordered fish and chips which were so good. The fish had a great airy and crispy batter. I ordered ranch water so I can't speak on their drinks. But they had darts and that was pretty cool. Staff was friendly!
google avatar

Karla D.

Yelp
As a regular visitor to the city since my dad is from Nashville I like coming here as a local rather than a tourist. Gets some tourists but luckily not many. Of course the pub and food aren't going to be exactly like going to England. But having been across the pond I'll say the food is comparable to any pub you may go to while in the UK. Service is really good. Fast and friendly. Great place to chill and get away from the insanity of Music Row.
