Great Local Dog Park! 🐶 🎾 ♥️ Stopped by on a Saturday morning while I was visiting the area over the holiday. The entrance is kind of sketchy but once you get through the tunnel, you see a playground, some basketball courts and the dog park. There was no one else at the dog park when we arrived but my dog still had a good time running around the large dog enclosure. They have two separate sections for large and small dogs which is a huge plus. 👍 The large dog park was really clean and well kept so we will definitely be back when we are in the area next time. We did however have an issue with another dog attacking my dog but I wouldn’t take a star off for that. No harm, no foul. Protip: keep an eye on your pup while you’re in the enclosure! 👀

Google
This isnt such a crowded pet park and has a lot of room. Seems a bit more updated than the other one ive been to. More places for people to sit too! Had some unpleasant encounters with other dog owners where they've made rude comments about controlling my dog when all my dog was doing was trying to play with their dog. This is absurd because they are free to make friends and mingle with the other dogs so I really don't understand if they wanted their dog left alone, they should not bring them to a place where other dogs are free to roam...

Google
Great park for the dogs two fences one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs then you also have basketball courts and other play ground park amenities great park for the whole family. Great breeze that comes from the freeway everyday so the hot summers coming through this is the park to be at.

Google
I really like this park because it’s easy to get to, it looks pretty new, and it’s clean. This park is divided into a large and small dog area with the cutoff being 35lbs. My dog is 45lbs so I can only speak for the large dog area. It’s never too packed and there are obstacle courses, pet waste stations, and running water! 🙏

Joan G.

Google
Nice park clean and well maintained. Has separate areas for small and large dogs and my kids had a blast

Google
Great experience here, pretty clean, nice dogs(and owners) frequent this park, they close parking at 6 though and lock the gate so be sure to park outside if you plan on staying late or you’ll have to call and wait for empd to open the gate

Gerardo G.

Google
The good, small dog area and big dogs, there’s bag for dog waste, grass is another plus. The bad water dispenser for big dogs needs work shoots water up. Additional shade would be welcomed.

Celeste M.

Google
My two boys loved it, depending the day there is a good amount dogs that come but since it is a more hidden park I don’t think many people know about it but I 10/10 recommend lots of shade, water, training areas or playgrounds for dogs most dogs friendly

Yelp
Stopped by on Sunday, 06/22/25. This place is very hidden - a hidden gem in the LA County! Right below the 10 freeway, this dog park is a great place to get your steps in and your doggo's steps too. It is a bit small but nonetheless a local perk for the city of El Monte.

Jose M.

Yelp
This is a beautiful park in El Monte. It has 2 large dog area for small and large dogs. It also has basketball courts and 3 kids playgrounds. There is a restroom and BBQ charcoal grill with shaded area and a ping pong table.

Yelp
Parking: Has its own parking lot making parking very easy. Includes: Has a fenced area for small dogs and a separate fenced area for large dogs. Dirt with some grass depending on the season. These dog parks are adjacent to a playground area, lots of bench seating, and open grass field with a some large trees. Bathrooms are available. What I like: This location is great to train and play with your dog without having to enter into the dog park. Great area to develop relationship and build focus with your dog in a distracting area. Grassy field is large enough to play fetch with your dog outside of the dog park.

Yelp
We recently discovered Fletcher Dog Park! My pup had an absolute blast running around on the green grass and playing with the fun toys. As regulars at Whittier dog park which unfortunately doesn't have grass, we were thrilled to discover a new spot with my pup's favorite feature! We visited on a quiet weekday and had the park all to ourselves, but my dog still had a fantastic time playing fetch. The only downside is it's a bit of a trek for me after work (Whittier dog park is just 5 minutes away) but trust me it's worth it! If you're in the area, do your pup a favor and check out Fletcher Dog Park they'll thank you! ;)

Yelp
HEADSUP: the park itself deserves a solid 5 star, but I'm giving this rating for what happened there and in hopes of getting some help from my fellow Yelpers. My dog was straight on attacked and bitten near the artery (doctor said she was so close to losing her life if the bite was a couple of milli-inches to the side) on 11/22 around 4:30pm by a male Shiba Inu owned by this Asian guy named Guirong (Divine) Yuan. His dog attacked 2 other dogs in the park before he got my baby. My baby girl was seriously injured as she screamed for a whole minute in pain and the park officers (2 girls) actually came over to check, which I very much appreciate. Unfortunately, we didn't find the bite until when we got home as it was under her collar. I did get the owners phone number but he's been dodging my texts from the beginning, and then blocked my number, my husband's number, and all of our friends who were trying to reach him. I reached out to El Monte animal control but haven't heard back from them, same with the Fletcher park office. I would really love any info on what to do and where else to report him, so that his dog doesn't continue to attack other dogs put their lives at risk.

Yelp
What's up: Want to bring your doggo to a park to run and make friends? How about just going to the park to aww over how cute the dogs are? Then a dog park is the place to go. I came across this place on one of my runs and followed the doggos haha Parking: There is a parking lot right up front. Environment: There are two fenced areas: one for small dogs under 35 pounds and one for large dogs. Each of the areas have benches, water fountains, and ramps and tunnels for the dogs to play/enjoy. There are also plenty of poopy bag dispensers and trash cans (please be awesome and pick up after your pet!). The rest of the park includes a basketball court, playground, covered table area, a walking path, and restrooms. The tables and patio areas are not in the best conditions and it looks like there might have been bbq grills that used to be there but have been removed. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. This is a nice place to visit, especially if you want to let your dog run around. Even if you don't have your dog, it's still a nice place to visit just so you can watch dogs having fun with other dogs. This place is also accessible right off the bike path and you can see the 10 FWY from there. They currently have some construction work going on.

Yelp
I grew up going to fletcher park since I was a kid and seeing it now transformed into this beautiful dog park has been honestly incredible. Ever since the renovation I've been taking my dog here, and he's loved it. The separate areas for small and large dogs, the parking right up front, and even if you don't have a dog it's still a great park. Overall it's worth checking out, never seems too crowded, parking is easy, and your dog will have a good time.

Yelp
This dog park has been such a great addition to the El Monte community! Having this dog park allows my dog to be able to engage and make friends with other dogs which is a huge plus for us both. The dog park is separate by small dogs (less than 35lbs) and big dogs (more than 35lbs). The small dog park has decent amount of seating (5 benches) and tons of shade. The big dog park has the same amount of seating but they have nonexistent shade & the grass near the drinking fountain is hella muddy. I feel bad for the owners since during the warmer days, it can get pretty hot standing there. Also, I love that they have little doggie bags for picking up poop. One time I forgot to bring bag and it was super helpful to have those around. I come here on the weekend, and my dog has been able to play with other small dogs. Some dogs can be aggressive but so far my dog hasn't encounter dogs that bit him. My dog did get injured once while playing with another dog, but I didn't notice till later since it was one of those play where they jump over each other. It was a harmless incident. I been here more than 30 times and have met good and bad owners. Overall for me, I think good owners were more common when I went. I seen owners that would watch their dogs play, stop and calm them if they get aggressive and of course mindfulness of the space and clean up after themselves. Everyone was pretty nice and was just there to make sure their dogs have fun. The cons I would have to say is the hours are not accurate all the time. Sometimes we would go, and the gate to the park is closed when it should be open. We parked in the streets outside but it would be nice to have a more clear schedule. If they can at least update on Facebook or the government site about the schedule. There is soo much potential if our local government can keep their people in the loop about things happening in the community on their website such as days the parks are close and such. Also, I would love to see the government host events engaging dog owners as well.

Yelp
I truly love this dog park. I love how my dog doesn't get dirty or muddy, despite how rough he plays. I've been to many dog parks where I have to give my dog a bath right after. I love how there's obstacles for my dog to try out.

Yelp
Park looks great and new but the people who come here make it unpleasant and shows the city cannot be a destination for your pup like Alice's Dog Park. ATTENTION. LARGE DOG AREA IS CLOSED 11/3-12/15/21 for reseeding. Due to this circumstance, the large dog owners have moved to the small dog area (German shepherd/Husky size) and therefore you cannot bring your small dog to their designated area. They were running at full speed in play which is nice but you cannot bring your small dog here unless you want them to break a paw (I mean leg, happens a lot to smaller shorter leg dogs). One large dog that was running had a muzzle. The green park around was nice but it was full of feces. Obviously owners are walking the dogs outside with a leash and are aware of their dogs pooping moment. They don't pick up the waste so it makes it virtually impossible to have a picnic on the grassy area. Disappointing place at best. Will return to Alice's Dog Park (Pasadena) which has more conscientious people and respect the small dog/large dog areas as well as less feces al around you.

Yelp
Just tried out this dog park for the first time with my one year old puppy and she loved to play here. There's plenty of grassy areas leading to the dog park play area and trees providing shade. I like that there are two gated sections for small and large dogs since she's a bit timid around larger dogs. The dogs that were already in the play area were relaxed and playful. There weren't any dogs that were barking or rough-housing too much. There are also a few play structures such as a see-saw and small tunnel for them to play with also. I only wish there were trees to provide shade in the actual play area since we were all melting in the sun. There's a bench area with an awning, but it was taken up. Make sure to pick up after your dogs, which doggy bags are also provided. Plenty of parking!

Yelp
Whoever this dog belongs to, be sure to watch your dog. This dog jumped the fence and was trying to hump my dog! Of course when we took him back nobody wanted to claim him. Park needs maintenance and upkeep since people don't pick up their dogs poop.

Yelp
For the record, I haven't been to too many dog parks, but, of the 3 I went to, this one takes the puppy cake! It's big, especially for small dogs. I almost feel like the small dog area is larger than the big dog area. Pros are extensive! The space is huge! There is maybe 40% dirt road and 60% grassy area, which is the perfect ratio to me. The grassy area is mostly flat, which makes it safe for dogs that like to run. There are dog bag stations. There are some agility training equipment for pups who like a small course. It is also maintained really well. Cons are pretty minimal, but they do exist. Most people do watch their dog and pick up after them, but, during my one visit, a couple didn't see their corgi poop, so they didn't pick it up. I didn't know who the couple was because they came in with a crowd. 6_6 There was another couple who watched their dog poop and refused to pick it up even after I said something...I'm a bit afraid of being labeled a Karen...so I left it at that. Other cons are part of the pros. For instance, because the park is so big, it is kinda difficult to watch your dog's behavior from a distance. For dog owners who have dogs with some behavioral issues, they should stick close to their dogs, which is sometimes difficult to do because of the size of the park and how fast the dogs can run. It is also difficult to see if your dog poops from a distance (so that you can go to pick it up), unless you're watching him like a hawk. Also, very difficult to catch your dog if he doesn't want to go home. Also, there is only one water fountain. Sometimes, people bring in their big dogs or unneutered dogs. A lot of the cons are human-related and completely avoidable. Otherwise, 5-star dog park!

Yelp
First off I LOVE this park and I've met some great people and their fur babies have made friends with my fur baby. Today was a one off from our usual experiences there... so im writing this post because of these people I encountered with their viciously aggressive dogs. I was yelled at by an adult male telling me that I need to grab my dog, who was just sniffing his dog, because his dog is not trained and was on a leash and if I don't grab my dog away that it is my fault if my dog gets bitten. I was very confused by this statement. How is it my dogs fault or my fault if she gets bitten by an aggressive dog that doesn't know how to socialize? The individual tried to tell me they were there to attempt to socialize the dog...but then you should socialize them on the other side of the gate..not on the inside and ask the other owners to hold their dogs back so as not to trigger the aggressive dog? That just doesn't make sense to me... anyway another lady there began packing her things up and told me to be careful of them because their dog bit her previously when she was stopping it from biting her dog... which when confronted they denied.. all other 8 dogs left the park after I did about 15min after those aggressive dogs showed up and ruined everyone's time. Socialize in a smaller controlled setting...not a dog park...and maybe wear a muzzle. Sigh avoid these people... but please come to this park. It's great...just not if they're there. I have informed the workers of today incident and they will be keeping an eye on things.

Yelp
It was our first dog park we went. We went today, Sunday, around 4PM, because it was a cooler weekend than before. When we got here, plenty of parking. Parkings are free. Beside a dog park, there's a play area for kids, a basketball court, and a table area. The dog park itself was very clean. There's an area for small dog and big dog (35 lbs+). There are trash cans for you to throw away the doggy bags. Some play things for the dogs to enjoy. Our dog didn't care for them. A lot of area for the dogs to run around. The small dog park area has shade and the large park area doesn't. So, if you have a large dog, be prepare to get a lot of Vitamin D. About 5PM or so, a lot more dogs showed up. I'll say, a very successful first dog park trip!

Yelp
Such a nice dog park! There's seating all across the dog park and the grass is well-maintained! There's no poop on the grass as I see everyone being responsible pet owners and picking up their dogs poop. Yay! Keep it up! :) There's also a dirt walking trail along the parameter of the dog park so humans can walk while their dogs play! There's not much shade but there's a giant tree next to the small dog park that provides a good amount for half of the dog park. So happy there's an addition of the dog park in the community!

Yelp
It's such a good time here! I brought my dog here twice and he absolutely loves it! I initially brought him when he just finished his 3rd round of vaccines mainly because I wanted to socialize him with other dogs as well as kids. This was honestly the best place for that. Both times I came, it was on a Saturday. First time was around 10:30am and the second time was around 1pm. I highly recommend going the earlier time at 10:30am because there were so many other people and dogs at that time. Around 2:30-3pm, the whole park (at least the ~35lbs or less section) was pretty much empty. Small disclaimer, I've also never been to other dog parks so I have nothing to compare this to but I thought this park was super nice! There's outdoor basketball courts, picnic tables around, and two sections for the dogs (one for less than 35lb dogs and one section for 35lb+ dogs). Although not extremely strict since I've seen bigger dogs enter the small section. There is a large area of grass and then a dirt path/trail that runs around the grassy area. In the grassy area there are obstacle courses/equipment for your dog to run up and down ramps or through tunnels. Plenty of benches around the grassy area and water fountains as well. Overall, I am very pleased with this dog park and would love to bring my dog here every chance I get!

Yelp
It's a nice place to bring your pets. The weather makes it even better. It's a good place for them to make new friends

Yelp
If you're looking for a dog park that's more interactive than just a big, closed-off patch of grass, this is IT. Once you drive through a short tunnel, there is a long parking lot. Past the small playground and huge shaded grassy areas, there are two fenced off areas for small (less than 35 lbs) and big dogs (greater than 35 lbs). The double fences are sturdy and there is a gravel walk around the dog parks, which can be useful for training for neutrality or walking. Both sections have a water station, dog waste bags, trash cans, and agility course obstacles such as the bridge, the tunnel, and the weaving sticks. When we went around Saturday 10:30 AM, there were already several dogs in both sections. Unlike other reviews, the areas were clean and the owners there did pick up after their pups. I would suggest going earlier in the day for any dog park though, but this place is truly a hidden gem.

Yelp
Updating my review because we were finally able to visit the dog park. I think it's pretty well maintained with decent amount of actual grass and SHADE!! However there's some snack wrappers scattered in the small dog side. Some people just don't like to pick up after themselves. But didn't see a lot of dog poop so that's good. However, not trying to be a Karen but there was a group of teenagers who brought 4 medium sized chow chow's into the small dog area and they were kinda just sitting and chatting with each other instead of supervising their dogs. One of the chow chow's were a bit aggressive towards other dogs and they didn't really seem to care. I was worried for my small dog's safety so we left after awhile. Everyone else was very good at supervising their dogs so hopefully this was just an isolated case. Would come back.

Yelp
My friend and I came to bring her Lab out. The entrance to the parking lot is super cute. Like a little tunnel. The parking lot is a good size and seems private. There is a section with a playground then there are 2 sections for dogs. One is for small dogs and the other side is for large dogs. They have one water fountain in each section. It's definitely a cute park.

Irene Y.

Yelp
Most people take good care of their dogs. But for some, PLEASE STOP bringing your dog to the dog park when she's in heat. It can easily cause fights between dogs. Plus, female dogs in heat sometimes bleed, which is disgusting when it gets on other dogs' fur. And then people think a dog with blood on it is attacking other dog. And the female dog owner doesn't even care
google avatar

Jakob K.

Yelp
This dog park is close to comparison with Garvey Paws when it comes to size wise. Not sure why they thought it would be smart to make the little paws bigger than the big paws...very limited space for large dogs to run and play. Owners here tend to not know how to train and handle their dogs. My dog was attacked by 2 different dogs as he was entering the park. Owners have no sense of urgency. I had to yell and ask for the owner on the dog who was attacking ours and when she realized her dog was being overly aggressive, she took her sweet ass time walking, instead of rushing over to pull her dog away, Definitely get anxiety when I come here. I've stopped after the two occasions. Noticed the small paws don't really have any issues. If you have a large dog, I would think twice about coming here.

Yelp
This dog park is great! My dog also adores it; he always has so much fun playing fetch with his pals! We like that there are plenty of trash cans, water fountains, and dog poop bags available for both big and tiny dogs. Most significantly, it feels safe and is really well-kept.

Yelp
Fletcher Dog Park use to be our go to. helped our pup socialize and get her daily exercise. She always had a blast meeting new dogs there but we notice some muddy water north east of the small dogs play area. It's been 2 month since we've been back here and to our suprise it hasn't been address and today it had disgusting murky waters. Hopefully city maintenance will get this area fixed so we can enjoy the park again.

Yelp
Cool park. I have a fear of dogs. I was in the area and thought it be a good idea to get close to dogs so I can get comfortable around them. This park is kind of hidden. Very clean and looks new. Hopefully it stays that way. The dog owners here were very respectful and kind. I saw a lot of cool dogs. Maybe next time I'll get into the cage and maybe pet a few lol

Yelp
Best new dog park around! I am so excited to know that I don't need to drive all the way to Pasadena for a dog park anymore. Although entering the park took a few twists and turns through the neighborhood, the park is quite secluded. One side is the freeway while the other has a train track. Despite that, the noise isn't too bothersome. The great part is that the area for the dogs to roam around is super spacious. It is split between small (under 35lbs) and large (35lbs+) dogs, but both pretty huge. There are a few obstacle courses for the dogs and benches for the humans to spend their time. Even when night time comes around (which is pretty early during the winter days), the lights keep the place well-lit. I am just happy there is a close dog park in the area, yay!
google avatar

Yelp
Brand new dog park in El Monte. There's a big and little dog side with agility course and obstacles! There were also doggie pools but not sure if they will be permanent or were only for the grand opening. Double gates so your pup can't escape, doggie bags and water fountains were available. There's a covered area with benches and benches throughout the park. I wish there was a little more shade in the big dog area but there's plenty of shade in the little dog side and it's a nice dog park for the surrounding area! There also a running/walking path around the park and adjacent playground with bathrooms. When driving there, you need to drive under the freeway (yes a little sketchy) but there's plenty of parking in the parking lot.

Yelp
This review mostly applies to the big dogs area because we have a big dog... Most of the people here are responsible dog owners. I say most because while I haven't directly come across dog owners who don't pick up after their pets, every time I come here, there is poop littered all around the big dogs area. And it's definitely not because there is a lack of trash bags provided... but even if, there is no excuse but laziness. I've also seen some owners bring their small, AGGRESSIVE dogs (growling and snapping at the other dogs when they come close) into the big dogs area because they think it's "safer" than bringing their aggressive little dog into the small dogs area. This honestly baffles me. Why bring your aggressive and reactive dog to a dog park when you know that's how your dog is going to react?? You not only pose a risk on your own dog but also all the other dogs that have to deal with your aggressive dog. Whenever I encounter this, we beeline straight to the exit and leave. I don't have any qualms with the dog park itself, just the irresponsible dog owners. The dog park itself is nice and I've only encountered good experiences so far but use at your own risk (or your dog's risk). Closely monitor the area and check out the area before coming in because you never know if a dog fight may break out because of irresponsible and reckless owners.

Yelp
Best dog park I've been to! It's clean and huuuge. My pups and I had a great time. Only thing I wish is they'll put more trash cans.

Yelp
During COVID, I don't think a lot of people have been taking their dogs to the dog park, but I just might have went during a time where it wasn't packed. I went on a Friday morning and it seems to be a bit slow. The small dog side had a bit more dogs on it compared to the big dog side. It was no problem for my dog she loves the wide open space. TIPS: Just remember to wear your mask and there was a sign that mentioned you can only stay for 30 min. I think play it by ear, if there are a lot of people just follow that rule. When I went there was only 1 dog and they left shortly after. I, myself, didn't stay that long either I was there for maybe a little over half and hour and left because my girl was getting tired and it was starting to warm up. The dog park is very clean. It has cute benches shaped as dog bones. The also have a small shaded area for owners to sit and watch their pets. A lot of cool dog "playground". I also really like that they have a little track so if the owners really want they can run or get a nice walk in when their dog gets some exercise. There's also a basketball court and park for HUMANS! It's an overall nice place for a family outing. Some little things to mention are the location is by the freeway so you'll hear the cars zooming past by. It's also kind of hidden location like under a bridge. I felt like I was entering some forbidden village or something (MAGICAL!). They also have dog poopie bags which is nice, I think adding some dog pooper scoopers might also be a good idea. I've only ever went to 1 other dog park, Alice's Dog Park in Pasadena. After comparing the two, I do prefer this one for a few reaspm. The water fountain at this one is not as muddy as the Pasadena one. The area is also all flat so theres no hills or holes when you can tumble and fall and slip on a suprise poopie (True story, wear closed toe shoes to protect your feets from accidentally stepping in poop). I will still be going to both, but it will depend on how I am feeling. This one is a bit closer to me too and there's a lot of parking. I think after the pandemic this place will be loading up with energetic fur friends! Amazing place!, I'd come back.

Yelp
Brought my dog here after reading some reviews. | PROS | + Plenty of parking + Since this is a newer dog park, it is fairly clean + The small dog area is pretty big where dogs can release all their energy + Water station for dogs + Poop bags available | CONS | - I know this is not the fault of the park itself, but dog owners need to watch their dogs and really reconsider bringing their dog to a park where dogs are unleashed. A dog we encountered peed on me/my shoes, jumped on me and starting biting my hair, and was aggressive with my dog. The owner was on his phone or playing with other dogs the whole time. Some dog owners need to be more responsible.

Yelp
This is a really nice dog park! I'm so glad there's something like this in the SGV. I've been to a few in West LA but I like this one best. I like this one specifically because it is BIG. My little Astro has so much room to run around and it's separated by big and little dogs. Little dogs is considered 35 lbs and below. I went on a Friday around 4PM and there isn't too many people. I actually prefer it not having too many people otherwise I'd have to be extra alert for Astro. People also pick up after their dogs, it's clean, and I didn't find any dog poop laying around. There's also ample parking! Friendly dogs and owners too. Would highly recommend :)

The area is really nice and green, not too spacious though, but I've noticed that some dog owners do not pick up after their pooch (whether accidental or not) and I've seen dogs run all over it then play with other dogs, making even more of a mess!! Park is separated to small (~35lbs) and big (35+lbs) sections. Also depending on the day there might be some aggressive dogs so just check out the dogs there on that day and see if it's a good day to stay. I saw a very reactive dog bite another dog one time and the owner was also very irresponsible. The two pups I've came with always came back with something wrong with them (parasites or whatnot) and I think it may have to do with the water here so pls bring your dog your own water.

Yelp
I'm sadden to write this review but here it is. When I first discovered this nearby dog park, I was super estatic to bring my two doggos. At first it was great, everyone who brought their dogs were friendly and seemed responsible, and the dogs were overall well trained. However over the past 6 months of bringing my dogs here, I've encountered many problems and is super disappointed. Here's why... 1. IRRESPONSIBLE OWNERS. Dog owners who don't supervise their own dogs. Ive seen dogs start fights with other dogs. But NO owners in sight to stop the situation. I've seen both dogs and people get HURT here! And that's no ok. I'm also talking about owners who leave their dogs to roam around in there ALONE. Without supervision. Chilling outside of the gated area far far away. Like if sh*t goes down, how fast do you think you can run?? But then again, they don't care because they are IRRESPONSIBLE. 2. IRRESPONSIBLE OWNERS. Pt. 2 Dog poop everywhere. Who fault is that? Irresponsible owners. Keep in mind theres free doggo trash bags on site too! Conclusion: This use to be one of my favorite places to bring my dog but it's no longer the same. My friends and I no longer trust this place simply because of the people who take their dogs here. A lot of owners are irresponsible and their dogs are not disciplined. The chance of you or your dog getting hurt at this place is high so beware.

Yelp
I like this dog park as it's close by and I love that the park has a little agility course set up for the dogs to practice their tricks. The other owners are generally friendly as well. One gripe I have is some owners do not pick up after their dogs. Every visit I have to pick up other dog's poo so that my own dog doesn't step on it. I have not personally witnessed an owner neglect their dog's poo but I see the poo on the ground. During my last visit I kept having to swat away flies that were hovering over the grass (presumably attracted to the dog poo). I also think that some owners could be more watchful over their dogs, particularly those that haven't been fixed. The problem I have with unfixed males we've encountered is that they will often try to hump my dog and the owners don't do anything about it. I'd appreciate if other owners could be more responsible and diligent in watching after their dogs.

Yelp
I understand that this is a dog park but there are designated areas where it is ok to let a dog off leash. The children's play area when it is full of kids is not one of them. But some people are just too cool to put a leash on their dog. And some park employees don't seem to care even after being informed. 6/20/23 7pm.

Yelp
This park is super easy to get to and it has plenty of parking and most of the dog owners are very friendly and mostly responsible for their pets. It's nice to talk to friendly dog parents in the area while the dogs are playing. There's a couple rowdy dogs who's owners don't do anything but that's to be expected. I just keep an eye on them My puppy will be a medium sized dog so I take her in the big dog area to socialize. I have a small Pomeranian too and he big dogs will come sniff her and trot off. It's clean and they have overhead lights on for the evening hours. Which is great since daylight savings time is approaching and it's about to get dark earlier. The big dog area has minimal shade but the small dog area has plenty. That might be the only issue but not even a big one or even a deal breaker. Winter is coming anyways :)

Yelp
Nice park. Gated, separating large dogs from small ones. Clean and roomy. I like how they have a smaller entrance gated area to release the leash prior to going into the main gated area. It's a well kept part, hidden in a quiet area near the 10 freeway. It's a must visit park, near home.

Yelp
I have taken my puppy to 2 different dog parks (this one and Alice Frost Kennedy dog park). Both dog parks are great. I prefer this dog park over the other because it is cleaner and the grass is greener. Additionally this dog park has a few obstacle/training play items in the fenced area. The dogs here are well behaved and friendly dogs. The only downfall of this dog park is that there isn't many dogs present. There were only 3 dogs including mine in the small dog area. This may be because I came around 2pm on a Tuesday. I will definitely be back again!

Yelp
This new dog park is very clean. There are no mud puddles and the water for dogs drains quickly. The grass is kept short and owners pick up after their dogs there is definitely no enough space for chuck its, but there is ample space for the dogs to run around. We went on a Saturday afternoon and stayed until sunset was starting, so it was fairly busy. All the owners were attentive, and the dogs were all nice. Definitely coming back!!

Yelp
Clean and spacious dog park that we enjoyed as a family with our dog. The dogs and people were super friendly and attentive. None of the dogs we saw were aggressive, but even if there would have been one, the owners were all watching their own dogs closely. GPS is probably needed to find this place, but worth the trip!

Yelp
Sad.. I saw the great reviews and liked that there was grass and interesting obstacles, but was unfortunately disappointed. I visited today (Saturday) around 8:30am. The gates to go through the tunnel and to the park's parking lot were closed. I was able to find parking right outside the gates in the neighborhood at least though. Walking through the tunnel was a bit scary though, especially as there was a homeless man barefoot standing in the middle of the road, facing the tunnel wall that has the sidewalk.. I went to the big dog side, and right at the entrance there is a huuuuge puddle that you can't avoid.. unless you climb the fence. My dog of course stepped through the middle to get through it, and it wasn't just the tips of her paws that got wet, but they actually sunk several inches into the mud.. The previous days the temp was in the 90s so it wasn't due to rain; seems rather that with the grass to they have, the park turns on their sprinklers for too long and/or doesn't maintain those grounds well. There were other puddle/mud spots and poop unscooped by negligent owners (not a ton, but considerable) throughout the area as well. Several big dogs were already there and the owners were all nice, but I prob won't be bringing my dog back here due to the state of the park grounds. Note: The small dog side seemed pretty good with no obvious large puddles, but I didn't directly experience it nor look at their area in detail.

Yelp
My favorite dog park. Clean. Never over crowded!!! Most dog owners are friendly too.

Yelp
Great park but unfortunately the people that go there don't follow instructions. Keep your Big Dogs in the Large dog section. A Doberman, Husky, German Shepard, or a Great Dane Is not considered a small dog. Signs should be posted in all languages so everyone understands. Clearly pictographs don't cut it. Thanks ruining my night! Irresponsible pet owners ruining a good park.

Yelp
I drove about 20 minutes from downtown since there's not really any good parks there I read all the reviews came here it's not that great. All the big dogs are with the little dogs because the small dog park is locked and the entire park is muddy. I normally go to the park in West Hollywood that's by far the best park in LA. Wont be back here.

Yelp
This dog park is really getting worse and worse. Last year the park seemed to be managed very well, as the park rangers would come at the appropriate times to let everyone know that the gates were being locked. Today, 6/8/22, we went to the dog park at approximately 5:30PM and left at approximately 6:48PM. Online, on Yelp, Google, and the *City of El Monte website* Fletcher Dog Park states that they close at 7:00PM. There was no ranger today to tell us that they were closing the dog park, no warning or anything. The city department was closed so we called the cops and the lady said, "Are you sure? We've been hearing that they close at 5:00PM every day." I know this is definitely not the case as I came here at 5:30PM. This is ridiculous, they really need to change the hours on their website to not misinform. They used to have a sign outside of the dog park a year ago regarding their hours as well, and now it is not there anymore. Thank god for a lovely gentleman who let us know that we could get out via driving through the bike route. Regarding the actual dog park, there are always children grabbing and trying to pet dogs without asking. Once, a child fed my dogs without asking or saying anything, with his parents nowhere to be found. Other people bring their aggressive, reactive dogs, and do little about it. There has also been aggressive graffiti inside the tunnel and there is also a homeless camp right next to the park. I've attached screenshots of my call times to the city department. I'll never go back here again.
