As a personal trainer, my nails are under constant attack from barbells, plates, dumbbells, and other training tools. It's important for me to be able to look professional and well-groomed while also working hard with my clients, and so having my nails neat and well-polished is crucial. Several years ago I discovered gel polish and was immediately hooked. However, there are definitely concerns with that kind of manicure: if done improperly, nails can peel or split, or the gel can curl and separate. I've had those manicures, but I'll tell you what-- NEVER at Fleur de Lys.
The staff at Fleur de Lys is knowledgable, poised, and talented. Every one of the women working is a master of her craft. The services are luxurious and complete. I can tell you that I would absolutely rather get a pedicure from Kim than get a professional massage-- the work she does on my feet and legs is divine. Even their "chop shop" services (mani, pedi), which are shorter by nature, send you out the door with a perfect look.
Everything about the Fleur de Lys experience is curated to the perfect degree of understated posh. From the copper foot baths to the comfortable velvet chairs, from the carefully selected featured products to the beautiful art, every detail is in place. I relax as soon as I step in the door. The music is good, the laughter is a constant, and they'll even mix you a cocktail or make you a cup of coffee.
I've never had a better salon experience. This week marks my fourth year of regular manicures and pedicures at Fleur de Lys, and I hope to spend many more years getting such great treatment.
(Oh, PS-- they wax, too! I just started getting my brows done by Kim, and she does a PERFECT job every time.)
