Beloved French Quarter Grab and Go Spot Small Mart Might Be Moving | Eater New Orleans

"I noted that the French Quarter location of souvenir shop Fleurty Girl recently closed after its owner warned that rapidly rising real estate prices are forcing out small businesses in the neighborhood." - Clair Lorell

My absolute favorite place to shop in New Orleans. I am from Ohio & this is one of the places I get can clothes and decor true to my favorite city. The staff are friendly & welcoming.

Love the store name! Super cute, upscale New Orleans gift shop with a sense of humor. Lots of punny shirts, cute baby and children’s clothing, coloring books, kitchen items and more. Well-air conditioned and clean too!

The Fleurty Girl Store on Chartres is way more than a T-shirt shop. They stock apparel of all types and a lot of sizes. They also have New Orleans style nick-nacks of every conceivable type. If you love the French Quarter chances are you will find something here to make you smile. The staff is super friendly and helpful and they have a great inventory.

Our family, including our two dogs, visited New Orleans for the day, a very hot day. This store owner, not only has a clean, attractive store to visit with fun gifts options, but she was so kind to us as tourists. She offered a bowl of water to our two dogs and chatted with our girls and my husband about her life in New Orleans. Great shopping experience. Stop by when in NOLA and grab some great gifts.

If you find yourself in New Orleans and are looking for fun and quirky gifts for others or perhaps even yourself, then you’ll want to visit Fleurty Girl! There’s something for everyone! From awesome T-shirts, to wonderful mugs and other keepsakes, it is the store for you! Perhaps you are looking for something splashy, classy and zany for the football game, a parade or perhaps just for a crazy night on the town - this is the place.

FABULOUS 'LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING' STORE IN THE FRENCH QUARTER I love this store. It’s full of whimsy and fabulous products. I come here each time I’m in town. My first purchase, ten years ago, was a super soft printed T-shirt, one of their original designs and the product that launched the whole enterprise. It was so nice that it went missing from my hotel room in Miami less than two weeks later! They have nine locations throughout the city and surrounds plus an outlet at Louis Armstrong International Airport, for those last minute purchases.

Yelp
Very cute little shop that caters to women and kids. They also have some fun items like Christmas tree ornaments that cater to everyone. Clerk was very pleasant and cool. Prices were within the expected touristy range.

Yelp
Founded by New Orleans native, Laren LeBlanc Haydel in 2009, Fleurty has expanded to 9 locations, including Louis Armstrong Airport and Mississippi. This charming shop has lots of cute, unique, & fun stuff for the home or gifts. I always stop by when I'm in town, and it's hard not to leave empty handed. The décor is festive, and the prices are reasonable. Most of their inventory is inspired by the city of New Orleans and made by locals. Their signature screen printed t-shirts feature NOLA catchphrases and pop culture references. You'll also find southern inspired accessories. I suggest stopping here when looking for souvenirs as the quality is much better than the "tourist trap" shops. You can spend hours here and leave happy.

Yelp
Never met a Fleurty Girl store I didn't like. To be fair, this was only my 2nd one to see. Going to them all is bucket list worthy for me! Loved finding this one open on a cold December weeknight as it is my favorite store to browse. Plenty of laughs to be found in every Fleurty Girl store! This one was small compared to the Baton Rouge location, but they made great use of the space. Every inch is filled with something adorable that will make you smile or bust out laughing. Absolutely my favorite shop for gift buying. 10/10 highly recommend every Fleurty Girl store. If you haven't been, you're missing out. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the items too. Love the t-shirt punch card and the local items tailored to each location. Find yourself a Fleurty Girl shop, bring a friend, and go have fun!

Yelp
I visited a few of the Fleurty Girl locations while in New Orleans for The Eras Tour. This locally owned business served up unique T-Swizzle items as well as NOLA flare. There are locations all over the city... including the airport. I loved the options and the opportunity to support a small business.

Yelp
They went all in for Eras weekend! Loved that each store was themed for a different album - such attention to detail! We were able to visit the Lover location on Magazine street and the Evermore location in the airport. Seeing the decorations, hearing the Taylor songs as soon as you get off the plane in New Orleans just helped set the tone for our trip! Not to mention all the cute products they had - most things were well stocked at the beginning of the weekend. The employees, particularly at the airport location were so friendly and nice - I gave a bracelet to Julius, who was so nice and helpful! It was great energy at a great local shop - I will definitely be ordering some of the items I couldn't get in NOLA from the website to support this business. Thank you NOLA, for the southern hospitality!

Yelp
I dare you to walk past Fleurty Girl and not feel compelled to walk in. This store has all the cute/funny/cool NOLA-inspired gifts that your heart could possibly desire, from jewelry to notebooks to art to an entire wall of T-shirts that are good quality and with unique images/sayings (none of that "Drunk 1, Drunk 2" or "I got Bourbon faced on shit street" type of BS). I love their array of candles scented like the best things in New Orleans (luckily no Bourbon Street grease trap smells, heh). The perfect holiday gifting here, give your auntie a couple cute tea towels and your mama a gorgeous Mardi Gras float flower and your sister some king cake earrings and your niece a sparkly jacket. There's a lot of Saints/Tigers-inspired stuff as well for the sports fans in your life. It's such a festive little shop.

Yelp
NOLA and the French Quarter have been an annual trip for me and some friends for almost 30 years. And in 30 years, especially with the pandemic the last many years, I have seen many retail spots come and go. I was so happy that Fleurty Girl survived the pandemic and is still there on Chartres Street where it always has been when I was there a few weeks back. Although I had been there a few times over the years and checked-in, it is only now that I am jotting down a few words for a review. My dry sense of humor is always looking for cute/unique/fun gifts for me and friends. I always find something to take home when I pop in this store. They have t-shirts that are just "cuter" than the average t-shirt you are going to buy in one of the countless souvenir shops dotting the French Quarter. They have funny cards, adorable earrings and girly homegoods with the Fleur-de-Lys flare. On this trip, I purchsed an adorable "red bean and rice" dancing shirt, Dolly Parton earrings and a funny dish towel. The store is always bright and welcoming with stocked shelves and cute displays. Nothing is too pricey or high end, but more in line with tourist prices. My t-shirt was $28 and my earrings were $20. If you find yourself on Charters maybe walking through Jackson Square away from your Cafe Du Mond beignet coma, stop on in.

Yelp
What can I say about Fleurty girl. I am so glad that they move to a larger location they even had more and more awesome things especially during themed celebrations such as Mardi Gras! I love all their southern inspired T-shirts, accessories, and a whole bunch of lagniappe gifts! There is something there for all ages including men, women, and children. They have such a unique collection of gifts that you would want to buy everything! They have cute socks with a lot of awesome cool sayings, T-shirts, and household gifts. I love their jewelry it always reflects a southern theme and southern charm that I always want to buy everything in that store! I am so excited that they have a large location so that I love to look at every single item in that store! I do like that you can order online and you can order and pick up at the store. It is a dangerous store for me because I love it so much!
