NOLA and the French Quarter have been an annual trip for me and some friends for almost 30 years. And in 30 years, especially with the pandemic the last many years, I have seen many retail spots come and go. I was so happy that Fleurty Girl survived the pandemic and is still there on Chartres Street where it always has been when I was there a few weeks back. Although I had been there a few times over the years and checked-in, it is only now that I am jotting down a few words for a review.
My dry sense of humor is always looking for cute/unique/fun gifts for me and friends. I always find something to take home when I pop in this store. They have t-shirts that are just "cuter" than the average t-shirt you are going to buy in one of the countless souvenir shops dotting the French Quarter. They have funny cards, adorable earrings and girly homegoods with the Fleur-de-Lys flare. On this trip, I purchsed an adorable "red bean and rice" dancing shirt, Dolly Parton earrings and a funny dish towel.
The store is always bright and welcoming with stocked shelves and cute displays. Nothing is too pricey or high end, but more in line with tourist prices. My t-shirt was $28 and my earrings were $20.
If you find yourself on Charters maybe walking through Jackson Square away from your Cafe Du Mond beignet coma, stop on in.
