I tried the chicken sandwich medium hot here and was seriously impressed. The chicken itself was juicy and flavorful, with generous, thick slices that made the sandwich really satisfying. The sweet coleslaw added a nice contrast, and the savory sauce brought it all together perfectly--it complimented both the slaw and the chicken without overpowering either. Everything felt balanced and well thought out. On the side, I went with the mac and cheese and fried okra. The mac was a definite win--super creamy, cheesy, and seasoned just right. Comfort food done right. The okra, on the other hand, was just okay. The batter was nice and crispy, but the actual vegetable inside lacked freshness. That said, at $4 for the portion, it still felt like a decent value. The location itself doesn't offer much outdoor seating, but the indoor space was bigger than I expected, with plenty of tables and room to sit and enjoy your meal. The service was great which also made the experience welcoming. My only real gripe is the overall price. With only one beverage, sides and a tip, the meal came out to nearly $60, which felt a little steep for what it was. Great flavors and quality, but definitely on the pricier side for a casual meal.
Overall, I'd absolutely come back--especially for that sandwich and mac & cheese combo.
