I went with a friend to try FLEXCity for free. I had never done this type of workout, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
FLEXCity specializes in interval-based fitness training, incorporating strength training, cardio, and flexibility into each class.
Every class is different, but in the class I went to, we did spinning, running on a treadmill, floor-based strength exercises and TRX. You are constantly moving and rotating to different exercises - you never do any one exercise for more than about 3-5 minutes.
The instructor, Cora, was awesome at keeping everyone on track and focused on each activity. She was really helpful and even showed me around the machines before class so I knew what to expect.
Overall, I had way more fun than I was expecting but I was definitely incredibly sore for several days after! It's a unique and fun way to get in a workout!
Note, the Grand Rapids location has a large parking lot in back but they like you to use the front entrance. Get there 10 minutes before your first class so the instructor can show you around and don't forget a towel... you're gonna sweat.
