FLG Terroir: Wine Bar & Bistro

Started off that it could be nice, but boy were we wrong. Called ahead to see if there was a wait. “Nope, we’re a bar, no wait at all.” Beautiful room, up some weird rickety carpeted stairs (not wheelchair accessible) in an old apartment building. Beautiful long room, very dimly lit, empty at first. We got a table for our party, got some plates and utensils. Took a little bit to review the menu and then placed our orders at the bar. The older gray/white haired man with glasses and a ponytail was running around like crazy, and seemed to be extremely distracted and wearing too many hats. Would walk away multiple times from us at the bar as we each placed our order, changing the vinyl record player, cleaning up dishes, etc. Was very rude and abrupt to some in our party. Half of our party ordered our food at 7:12pm (per our receipt) and we did not get it until 8:46pm. We were sitting by the kitchen, open view, and the two young men working in the kitchen definitely seemed extremely overworked and probably underpaid. They worked fast and well, and I guess our ticket got completely lost. Half of our party got their food shortly after ordering. The other half did not. The server in the beanie hat with a beard also seemed to be overworked and running around like crazy, nice and polite, but told us about 1 hour into our wait for our meal that one of the items we had ordered had run out and they could refund it or substitute it. One in our party kindly but sternly asked the staff to refund those in the party whose meal was an hour and a half late, which they did thankfully. But any other restaurant worth their salt would have already apologized and offered to comp the extremely late meal without us asking. Once we finally got our meal, the house potato fingerlings were horribly tough. They were worse than when you over cook a baked potato in the microwave. If we were not starving, they would have been inedible. Part of the meal that was an hour and a half late was a charcuterie board….that should have been out immediately!!! The music was way too loud and overpowering. As we waited for our meal, other tables came and went, were served and changed and refilled and emptied. The bathrooms were large and down a lonely deserted hall, so definitely take a buddy. The server in the beanie and the kitchen staff did their jobs well enough, we don’t fault them. But definitely ridiculous. Gray haired bar man, rude and abrupt. Never even apologized to us at all. They keep credit cards for your tab if you have one. Don’t return it until closing the tab. They had some gluten free menu items, but again, who knows if they are any good normally; our food was overdone, and extremely late.

Such a great spot for delicious wines and an even better food menu items. We came in for a glass of wine while we walked the downtown streets of Flagstaff, but were pleasantly surprised with not only their vast wine selection, but also the great atmosphere and menu. We will definitely be back. There were so many things to choose from, we opted for the oysters, hummus and meatballs and loved it all. Oh! ... and don''t forget to try the sorbet at the end.

I used to love this place! Atmosphere is amazing and used to be so intimate. We love the wait-staff. They are so knowledgeable and remember us each time we come in. This last time, we noticed that the food has had a major drop in flavor. We loved the meatballs and the tomato pie. We tried the steak, potato’s and grilled cheese. Not a fan of either. Flavor is lacking. Not the same refined feeling it used to have.

This place is a HIDDEN GEM! It's easy to miss since it's upstairs downtown but you absolutely must try it. Amazing wine and beer selection and amazing food. An incredible selection of games, definitely the best at a bar. The ambiance cannot be beat. This is definitely a place to go on a date, hang out with friends, or even just chill and do homework. The staff is fantastic - super well educated on wine. Love this place!!!!

As a wine bar this place is great. Nice interior, good selection, and great service. As a restaurant not good. Food took forever. The steak seems like it was a couple of days past its time and smelt pretty badly. The pasta was also very uninspiring

Listen, people are making this sound like a Mecca. It's very nice, worth the visit, but nothing extraordinary for sure. A decent selection of wines by the glass. About 10 or so for red and white and a few bubbly. Prices are anywhere from $10 on up which I suppose is normal these days. Good selection of wines but an emphasis on French and Italian for sure. I was surprised that the wines are not in a vacuum sealed casing considering they only sell them by the glass to keep them fresh. Wines were room temperature which made the red ones a tad warm. The food was good but honestly nothing out of this world. The scallops of which there were three, were served on a bed of street corn which was basically just corn sauteed in butter. $32. Little pricey should have been low twenties. Same thing with the meatballs. They were very good but there were three of them and the price point should have been a lot less. You order at the bar which was fine. Waited quite a while for the peach cobbler which was just okay. Atmosphere is very cozy. My biggest complaint is the music. I don't know why all bars feel the responsibility to play music loud enough to where you have to shout to be heard. It wasn't just that. It was the selection of music. It was like a modern version of the doors which some may love but it just felt weird in a tiny space like this. All in all it was good but I've been there once and I don't need to go back there again.

I was surprised to have such a good wine bar experience in Flagstaff. Julia is a fantastic conversationalist and made the experience very worthwhile for my stop on my trip. If I lived in the area, this would be a primary hangout for me. I recommend stopping by if you like wine and good conversation.

Was recommended this gem by a coworker and I am pleased as punch! Just stopped in for a glass of wine while awaiting a reservation at a nearby restaurant and ended up changing plans totally. Their pairing two course dinner was so wonderfully fulfilling! And all three wines I tried were delish! Patrons were warm and easy going and, to top it off? Great records being played while enjoying all off this. They are one of my new favorites in Flagstaff!

This is one of the best places I have ever been, so good that I went a second time the next day just to bring some friends. The ambiance is so on point, and their playlist was so good I was shazaming basically every other song. The staff is also very friendly and attentive, they seem to have real knowledge and joy in what they do. I got the hide & seek, which was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. If you come here you have to try it. I also got some oysters, which tasted fresh and came with a gingery citrusy sauce to pour over. They also have a good selection of board games to play with your friends if that interests you. Overall a great place that I hope to visit again and again and again.

It's my first time in Flagstaff and I stumbled upon FLG Terroir, and I'm so glad I did! It's a nice wine bar on the SECOND FLOOR located a block from the city center and surrounded by boutiques and interesting stores. I had two glasses of the White blend and it was very good. The bartender was also awesome!

Such a great wine bar in Flagstaff! We loved the different wines to choose from, the house made sodas, and the wide variety of board games that you can play while you're there!

Came here for dessert and another glass after dinner with my sisters. Lighting was perfect we sat right by the window for a moody, cozy Christmas feel. Wine selection was 10/10 AND THEY OFFER HALF GLASS. Seriously the best ever. The cake had a fun spice to it I didn't expect and the custard was soooo smooth. Staff was super nice and helped me pick out a great glass of bubbles. Will definitely be back at some point. Thank you FLG Terroir!!

First time in and had modest expectations but was blown away. Good wine by the glass menu and great bottle menu with wall display. Bonus was that they provide tasting by the glass. I had a special "wine of the moment" and a few pours from their regular by the glass menu, all great and reasonably priced. The cheese tray was phenomenal and the pairings were interesting. The truffled pecorino was bomb and so was the apple butter and raspberry compote. Garlic pickles were an unexpected hit. Kind of a tapas menu and I was too full for more, but want to go back to try a few other dishes and especially dessert. Great service, bartender was nice and attentive and also knew her wine. Good music playing and great atmosphere. They also have board games and a few people next to me were having fun playing. Cool idea! Kind of hidden up a flight of stairs. Expect to go back on the regular. Would recommend.

We love Terroir! Even though we're not huge wine drinkers, this is a great place for some ice cream or tea and board games. One of the few places open late in Flagstaff!

We were in town for our annual three day conference that we attend for work and decided we wanted to go offsite after our evening event for some cocktails and small bites. I am the go to person for our team when it comes to choosing where to go. I picked FLG and let me tell you babyyyy we had such a fun, great time (but we are fun group, we put the P in party!!). They have an AMAZING selection of wine and small bites!! Caleb(sp?) recommended some great wines to pair with the food we ordered. We ordered 2 bottles of wine (Marietta) which was FAB and 3 glasses of white. Food wise...charcuterie board, 2 orders of meatballs, Chow mein (which was the special), risotto and tinned fish plate (only for me) as I am the only one who eats tinned fish in this particular group ...it is an acquired taste but I Am Here for All of it! Overall such a great place with such a vibe. Great service, food and wine. It checks all my boxes. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in town!

I'm not a wine person so can't really comment on the beverage selection. But the food is very good. It's rare to see tomato pie outside of Upstate NY and theirs is super fresh. Mezze plate was also very good--nothing special, but executed impeccably. I don't feel comfortable giving 5* without trying more of the menu, but I'd happy go back.

Great experience, the view from the dining area was fantastic. We were greeted promptly after entering and sat at a table near the bar. Our server/bartender was very nice and answered all of our questions warmly and patiently. We will be back!

Nicely designed and relatively quiet place to dine. Loved the variety of food choices and their quality! Focus is Italian cuisine. Wide selection of wines - bottled selection excellent but pricey and most all too young to drink now. service staff need better training and be more attentive of their customers. When next in Flagstaff will definitely return for a meal

Still a great place. I wish you could get service and order straight from the tables instead of the bar. The charcuterie board is good. I like the options, but wish I didn't have to choose. Window is the best spot if you can snap a table. Will continue to come here as long as I'm in town.

Great place to go for wine and small bites. Not really a place for dinner or if you're really hungry. Wine was good - had the Syrah. The Fried Mortadella Panini was very good. The Bitter Greens Salad is ok. I wouldn't get the oysters next time, way too small so not worth the $3. This place is on the second floor. You have to order at the bar. If you're not interested in food, you can come pick up a bottle of wine and take it home. Friendly staff.

The food was so amazing! We got the rigatoni bolognese, der bauer board, and Pedro ximenez ice cream. 10/10 food!!! The ambiance was so cool, great vibes. And the bartenders/servers were all very nice!!

Food was DELICIOUS. Best bolognese I've had in a long time. I had the mushroom bisque and it was fabulous. Very friendly and welcoming staff . Definitely recommend!

Really yummy food, and great wine selection, but I don't see why you are charging a $10 corkage fee as a WINE bar. It's not much to open a bottle, I mean there's no fee to open a new bottle if anyone orders a glass of wine, and the bottle isn't open already. I figured being at a wine bar meant just paying for the bottle with complimentary opening as many high dollar eateries do here with no charge, and tip should be enough. Especially when there isn't any actual service at the table, and you have to go to the counter. I'll always tip 20% but the fee for opening rubbed me the wrong way at a place where the main theme is wine.

Love this wine bar! Staff is always very helpful about recommending wines. Great space, comfortable, good background music, not too loud. But the best is the fun selection of games. We love drinking wine, while playing battleship, bananagrams, and Yahtzee!

This was a really random find wasn't trying to go to another wine bar, but when the sun went down and their lights came on, we noticed them. What a very charming place friendly staff great ambience well worth a trip up the stairs.

Pretty place on the second floor above an excellent artists coop gallery. This place has a very interesting menu of delicious bites, plus fine wines, beer of the world, and great desserts. We were there off season mid week in early March and were delighted by the service and food. We had one of their focaccia boards w cheeses, fruit, nuts, pickles and chili-infused honey. Will always return when we can.

Excellent food and wine (no cocktails), in a pleasant venue. Try the duck bao ... it's really delicious ... also the sticky pudding for dessert. The logistics are such that you order from the bartender and they bring you your food. Not my choice, but it was pretty efficient. You also seat yourself, and the primo seats are on the east side, with a view into San Francisco street ... they are usually full, however, and the others in the back are somewhat dark ... not terrible, but not great. Wine selection was good, but I notice the owner has installed little measuring devices on the bottles so that the bartenders don't (intentionally or not) give a too-generous "pour" ... not sure that's really needed, but so be it. Very pleasant experience overall, and we will be back.

WoW! Sweet Potato Ginger Soup- amazing! And then further blown away by the Brussel Sprouts Leek Au Gratin! Traveling thru town, looking for a late night bite and FLG Terroir was one of the only options with a kitchen open until 10 on a Tuesday. AMAZING! We also had the Chick Pea Salad, which was also perfect!!! If you get the Brussel Sprout Leek Au Gratin- be sure to ask for a pice of bread... it was so good on their warm fresh bread! We won't forget this meal! Friendly accommodating staff too!!!

Had the best time here last night! Wide variety in the retail wine selection so we tried something new (and really liked it). We tried the food special of the day- meatballs with burrata. YUM! As many others have mentioned- you order at the bar. We did not find this difficult and had great service! The view over the street is also very nice.

TLDR: romantic atmosphere with fantastic wine selection to make anyone happy. I really enjoyed Terroir on a date night out. You enter via a walk-up to the second floor in downtown. You're welcomed by the staff and they request you order at the bar, but it's open seating otherwise. It's low light and the music is loud to cover silences but quiet enough you can ease drop on the table next to you. We ordered the butternut sandwich, turkey sandwich, their respective wine pairings, the orange wine, the melon wine, lemon Creme dessert, the the port dessert wine. After all, came out to about $100; well worth it. The lemon dessert tasted like real lemon was used, not artificial or overpowering. The black bean soup that came with the butternut sandwich was also fantastic, and the French fries were of the perfect crisp. Overall, if I were local, I'd come back regularly.

Quaint and much welcomed spot in Downtown Flagstaff. Great views and ambiance. Must order at the bar.

"Are these kids yours" was the greeting first posed to my party of 3 adults and 3 kids, aged 13, 15 and 17. An older gray haired gent asked this question with some aggression. We assumed we were asked this because it was a bar and maybe kids weren't allowed inside, which we thought was reasonable and we asked him this. But no, the bartender said it was a rule that they had to ask. I should have taken this as a hint to the rest of the evening. It was dark inside and I had to view the menu with the light on my iPhone. But I had to "turn the light off my phone" as that was causing....some kind of something? This again came from the grumpy aloof older bartender behind the counter. The menu is interesting, ordered "baked eggs" which emphatically is "nothing like deviled eggs, but better." It was not better, it was a tomato based mosh of poached egg, maybe some cheese and it was flavorless. It had to be enhanced with hot sauce. The sauvy blanc was good, the charcuterie as well. Everything else was bleh To finish this review, ol' gray haired managed to work hard at convincing a pair looking for beer to instead goto a liquor store and buy from there instead. A large part of dining out is the experience, and ours was subpar. Service business counts on their employees to deliver a welcoming one, and even wine bars can share in this philosophy. Someone should talk to Mr. Grumps about maybe dialing down the passive aggressive snobbery for a moment and realize that....ehhh, don't care enough to say much more

Great selection of wines and I love the atmosphere. I had the roasted cauliflower panini and it was so delicious! I believe they make their bread in house.

After dinner we decided to continue our date and found this place during our stroll through downtown Flagstaff. It was a beautiful night, so we walked for a bit. Honestly, we were looking for dessert, but found this place instead. We were glad we stopped in. The wine selection was wonderful. We settled on a French Bordeaux - Chateau Meillier. It was really good. The bartender was really nice and offered us a variety of board games, which was a thing at this place, so we decided to play Sorry. After losing to my wife a few times, I decided to give up and just drink, which was the right decision. We had a great time.

We had just drove in from Phoenix and we're looking forward to dinner and wine. Thought we would try this wine bar as we had not been before. When you arrive you go to the bar for menus and to place your order. We grabbed menus and decided to sit at the table near the window to enjoy the view and decide on what to order. We chatted with the person sitting at nearby table and decided to go up and place our order. We left a menu on the table to identify someone was sitting there. While we were ordering a couple came in put their shopping bag on the table we were seated at and got in line behind us. After placing our order we carried our plates, water, utensils and what not and sat back down we noticed the bag but had not idea who it belonged to. We continued our conversation with the neighboring person. Only to shortly be accused of "stealing a table" obviously we had been there first and now we were situated drinking our wine as they came to claim the table. They continued to say foul things to us before taking a seat at the bar. During which apparently told the bartender we stole their table and so when we went to leave the gentleman at the bar said a very nasty comment about my friend which of course escalated the situation. We were leaving and it wasn't necessary. To top it off the bartender took their side and said next time we should leave something personal behind to claim the table or we should have moved and let them sit at the table. "For future reference" basically we were in the wrong. I was shocked. Expecting a place like this to be a bit more classy and the locals to be a bit more friendly. If you are going to ask people to come up and order from the bar, we shouldn't have to leave something personal behind to "claim" a table. The wine was lovely but the service and entire experience was shot from the table situation. Truly sad.

What a fabulous concept AND execution! Just walk up the stairs at 17 N San Francisco Street and begin to smile! The side wall of the establishment is the equivalent of an excellent wine shop. You can, if you want, just go in and buy bottles of wine. But, don't miss the experience of drinking and eating here. Onlhy a $10 corkage fee over retail for a bottle of wine. And, the food is ecelctic and wonderful. The cheese and meat Charcuterie board is exceptional and the main corse offerings are delicious there were 3 of us and each had a different main. We were all really happy with our choices. And, the staff is delightful. Truly enjoyed the experience

I bring people here all the time for a great happy hour/wine bar experience. Craft food, rotating menu, all first class. We are repeat customers.

What a cozy place to be! This place has a literal wall of wine you can choose from, and everyone who works there can make excellent recommendations to help you find what you need. They also have a menu of food, and the steak panini I had was delicious. I wouldn't say this is the best place for kids because the menu is a touch sophisticated and the atmosphere is a bit dark, so maybe choose this place for dates instead.

I was in town with some friends and decided to check out this wine bar - and I am so glad we did. The menu was diverse and the food was delicious, and the selection of wine was very impressive. We enjoyed a couple bottles and ended out night with the homemade ice cream. Wow! Will definitely have to stop by the next time we are in town!

This wine bar has a great atmosphere and wine selection. The beer list is also very good! My husband loves his Belgium beer. It's cozy and romantic for a date with games available as well

AMAZING An unnasuming location but don't let that scare you away . Dined here with my husband on a getaway from Phoenix area . We wanted a special dinner and are aware that pricier does not always equal good. We were not disappointed, the waitperson helped me choose a special cocktail for the evening, a French 75, that was followed with an appetizer, Then we both had the Halibut with puréed potatoes and peppadew salad. All done exceedingly well. Desert was a chocolate concoction for hubby, I chose the lemon which had a lemon mousse with petite lemon madeleines . Somehow they got a meringue crunch in there that was heavenly. In addition to the excellent food the waitstaff was attentive to our every need and made us feel pampered . Also a glass of wine each came to around $250 and worth every buck!!! Would do it again in a heartbeat

Great wine bar in downtown Flagstaff! They have a wide selection of wines from all over the world (their wine wall is a thing of envy!) It is spacious, but intimate, and makes for the perfect date night. You can also choose from a variety of table or card games to play so would also be great fun with a group. They offer a variety of small plates/tapas style menu but also have larger sandwiches. My husband and I ordered several plates to share: prosciutto wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese, crab cakes, Brussel sprouts, and the sweet potato panini. The only thing we wouldn't have ordered again were the crab cakes which came out cold- everything else was yummy and paired well with our wine. One thing to note, you have to order all drinks and food from the bar!

Love the vibe. Staff is nice and great wine selection. If you want wine then this is the place to come to and enjoy. But if you hungry then no this is not the place to come to. I had the salmon and I didn't like it.

We came here for dessert. We were told by our Lyft driver that they have alcoholic ice cream and sorbet. My partner and I shared the blueberry wine sorbet. You can definitely taste the wine and it dyes your tongue purple. But this was after I had just eaten a ton and I was too full to enjoy it completely. I would return to try their other desserts and wine.

This is my favorite place! If I could put my personality in a building, this is it. Wine, games, great service, intimate setting, and wine shop --- this is the place to be! I ordered a glass of the Chateau Bousquet Bordeaux. It was a perfectly balanced blend and I normally don't like blends! The meat and cheese board complimented the wine perfectly. Emma and Kierra gave such great service and laughed at my jokes HAHA I love that. I will definitely return :)

LOVED this bar. They have an excellent wine selection and a ton of games. A hidden gem! It's off the beaten path and not an an obvious place to duck into off the street. Find it. Spend a couple hours. We will be back!

The beertender from Historic Brewing told me this was her favorite wine bar. It was close by so I walked over, ascended the stairs, and found a beautiful space with a wall of wine! I sat at the bar and for the next hour, made conversation with the couple next to me who were also finishing their road trip. They had a selection of European and South American wines as well as an Arizona red blend - who knew wine came out of Arizona. I eventually went with a cabarnet Franc for $14. I overheard that, maybe only on Mondays, they have a special discount on bottles of wine. I also got an appetizer here - proscuitto-covered dates for $5. I liked that they had small appetizers that weren't too filling or heavy.

Nice atmosphere and yummy charcuterie. Wine selection is somewhat limited but able to find a good glass.

A shockingly bad visit. Came down from Page, got a room, and headed over for good glass of wine and a couple of the apps we saw in the menu. Many servers (managers? Bar backs?) and very few people. It's about 6:00 pm on a Sat. Asked a few questions about the wines and it's was served with a taste for me but not my husband, and we drink different wines. But then the food came, and our treat for the night was to be the Swedish meatballs. Unbelievably awful. Dry. Crusty. 3 days old? They took it off the bill but we got attitude from the tall manager. Heard him say, "Do they know meatballs?" Haha. Dick. Swedish girls know meatballs. And that wasn't it.

I really enjoyed this place! It's upstairs so don't miss it! The vibe is very chill and open. I got their homemade gelato and the bartender suggested I pair it with a port, which was a great idea. I really enjoyed both, and the staff was great!
