This was my first time at Flip N Soul. It's a little hole in the wall, down the street from Highland Hospital in Oakland. It used to be a Filipino restaurant.
Today's menu was posted on Instagram and after reading other reviews, I was glad to see lobster on the menu. I tried calling to see if I could place an order over the phone, but no one answered the phone. Not even a greeting with hours or explaining there are no phone orders. (Management: you might want to change that)
Ok, on to the review of the food. The menu is posted on a white board in the window.
Customers are not allowed inside, you place your order through a window. After ordering, it took 45 minutes before my food was ready. I ordered garlic crab, fried lobster with garlic noodles.
Overall the food was really good but the lobster was my favorite. Nicely battered with a good crunch but not overdone. The crab had a nice lemon garlic seasoning and the noodles were a little dry but tasty. The prices are $$ but I understand the high cost of shellfish.
I will be back to try some of the other offerings, but will definitely get the lobster again! Delish!
