Flips Patio Grill

This was my 2nd time here. I had the fish tacos. They were...ok. Not great but good. Kinda dry, needed more sauce. I asked for corn tortillas, they tasted like they came from a bag, not fresh, or homemade. Overall they had good flavor. My wife had the turkey club sandwich I think. She finished hers so I assumed she liked it lol. The portion sizes were very large, good bang for your buck. Prices were reasonable. I sampled her onion rings, not great, too fried, too much breading & kinda hard. Not well cooked or prepared. I had tator tots with my fish tacos. Again they were ok, typical tator tots. Food was typical bar food. My youngest son had the chicken strips, they appeared to be very tough when I was cutting them up for him, but he did eat them well. My oldest had the kids hamburgers, I believe he finished those so they must not have been too bad. Our server, Ele I believe was awesome. He was the star of the meal, so attentive. I think he was assigned 3-4 tables, he handled it beautifully, worked very hard. Very sweet guy. Food needs some help. I get it that it's a bar & bar food, but it can still be really good food, if you want it to be.

Flips is mine and my husband's go-to spot for a weekend lunch! The food is always great, and the drinks never disappoint. They have a solid menu with plenty of options—highly recommend the chicken fried steak and the wings are delicious too!

This is a great place to get drinks, listen to music and shoot pool. I had fun and I love all the taxidermy. There is even an elephant. I did not eat so I cannot comment on the food.

9-21-24 visit. We stumbled on this place and it wasn't by choice. They were the only ones in the immediate area showing the Longhorns game. I'm glad we came in. It was a full house with a great atmosphere. There is a dining area separate from the bar area. We took the bar area which had a great size screen for watching the game. Service was a little hit and miss. We were tended to initially but she never came back and after a bit, someone else came to check on us and it was pretty smooth sailing after that. I wasn't too hungry so I opted for the childs plate steak fingers with a side of Mac and cheese. Absolutely delicious. Wife had a trio appetizer as a meal. Turned out to be the perfect combination. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

This is my first time to Flips. I love the Flips that’s off of 121. The area that this restaurant is in seem like it’s a jumping area which I’ve never been to before. So I can’t wait to go back due to the vibe. I like the vibe in the atmosphere. I went on a Saturday after 12 and it wasn’t jumping like all the other places nearby maybe because they’re too far on the end. The place is huge, so it will be great to get together. I didn’t care for the wings because they were missing flavor; we got the garlic parmesan and lemon pepper. I don’t remember what drink I got, but I liked it. It’s something fruity that had soda in it and I hate drinks that have soda in it because they water it down, but I really like this one. It was a big crowd of our ages and races. And there was good music playing. And of course, the hours are great.

Was pleasantly surprised with how great our dinner was here. Went just to try it wasn't expecting much more than bar type food which is good but not what was expected. All 3 plus our little doggie got the Fish N Chips and wow were they great. The fish was definitely a Cod big white flakey moist fish and the batter was the best part. Was just crunchy enough. The fries were good but could have been hotter. We sat out in the big patio and was pretty busy but service was fast and they were around a lot to check if we needed anything. Pet friendly as well. Definitely will be back. Want to try the chicken fried steak for sure. Go!

Came to town for a graduation. Friends, Heidi & Steve, brought us to their favorite place. We loved it!!! Food was amazing! Staff was super friendly. Really cool atmosphere. Great place!

Manager stated u can't talk too loud. Theirs nobody here. U can't enjoy having a drink and watch ranger game. Never come back. Take your party somewhere else. Strick rules.

Took some friends there tonight that had never been before and they loved it. Two of us had the Habanero Burger of the month (myself and a friend had it two weeks ago and ordered one to go for my roommate) and it has to be the best one so far. We all think it should be on the menu permanently.

Of all the buffalo chicken sandwiches you can get in the area, Flip's is the best for sure. The fajita nachos were really good, a tad pricey for what they are but that's just par for the course with most things these days. We asked for a mix of beef and chicken and they said that was fine, but didn't say it would be an up charge, which would've been nice to know when we asked. The Dirty Bird sandwich was very good, I'm glad I tried something new but also the Buffalo Chicken sandwich is hard to pass on. The onion rings were also very good, similar to how Sonic does theirs but even better. If it weren't for the buffalo chicken sandwich, I don't know that we'd ever really go here because we just don't eat at "American" restaurants much. But that sandwich is definitely 5 stars. The rest is pretty good but not rave-worthy.

Plenty of parking and a nice interior/exterior. The food was great except for the tasteless fries. Our waitress kept us topped up on anything we needed. Great place and a reasonable price for food.

First time here for an after work event. Wasn't sure what to expect but the service was good which is a big plus for me. My choice for dinner was the fish and chips, which was cooked to perfection and was very filling. This could be a fun place to watch your favorite sports event or chill and play some pool.

Just FYI, don't take your family here. They will not be allowed in the restaurant unless they have a valid ID stating that they are 21+ My family went there on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday at 9pm and we were all carded at the door. Seriously!!! At 9pm on a Saturday! I could understand it if it was maybe midnight... Take your business elsewhere as we did... 54th Street Grill was amazing as always and guess what..... everybody was welcome without showing an ID

Food is good but service is seriously lacking attentiveness! Negatives: Have to wait 15 minutes just for servers to come to table - 15 minutes to reorder a beer- no menus - no napkins - if you enjoy waiting for everything this is the place! Pluses: Ambient feel for a sports bar - lots of TV's - decorated nicely for the holidays

Fries were soggy and covered in grease and the filly cheese steak was presented very bad and service was nonexistent only good thing was they brought out the nasty food quick

Good food and service. Big portions and reasonably priced. NIce patio and cool interior. Good happy hour and like Texas Thursdays.

***Went on Memorial Day*** Flips was not as packed as it normally is. Monday was the $3 Crown & Down special, so ofc we indulged. We normally only get boneless wings, but decided to try something new today. The French Dip with potato chips was a win. Sliders for my s/o was also a win, but didn't come with fries as expected. Still 5 star worthy

So last year, I left a review about Flips Patio Grill. At the time, I was not very impressed with the overall service, food quality, or cost. So, I decided to give it another try this past Sunday. I went to watch a football game, which did not include the Dallas Cowboys. When I arrived, I was told that this game would only be on specific televisions. Needless to say, the only available seating was nowhere close to view the game. When I (and others) asked if they could change ONLY ONE of the televisions, we were told "No"! While I understand this is "Cowboy country", I was hoping they would be more accommodating. I was sorely wrong. So, once again, I left and went to Boomerjacks. The food is better, the service is better, the cost is much better and to top it all off, the manager (Bama) set up a specific area just so we could watch that game. Remember the saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"? Well I gave Flips a 2nd chance but they failed AGAIN. I won't be back.

complain about not tabbing out but they take 30 mins to come to check up on us :/ we never had issues here but lately they been slacking ....

Good service. Nice chill sport to drink or play pool. Plenty of tvs to watch games. Food is fresh made to order. Stays open late

Been here a few times. Normal bar fare but everything is really good. Tonight met up with co-workers for cocktails and appetizers. The wings and jalapeño poppers were excellent. Drinks were poured great and overall good time sitting in the bar area. Our waitress keep up with us and did an excellent job!

Not sure how this place diners have 5 stars! It's not "bar food" like a bunch of frozen items dumped in a fryer. Bread is fresh made and it's more of a scratch kitchen. Everything is fresh! The food is of great quality and delicious! Everything we have had is amazing! We have coming here for over 10 years so we've tried many things. Last week I had the taco salad husband had a burger both were delicious! Best chicken fried steak you will find! Sliders are great too. I mean everything is! :)

Our server Maddy was incredibly accommodating of our large party on a Friday evening and was so helpful and sweet! The drinks and food were excellent!

Our first time trying Flips and it was amazing. The food was so tasty and nice portions. Those Texas cheese sticks (we got the bites) were so incredibly tender and over the top delicious. We had the Philly cheese steak, and the French dip. The server lacked personality, and was absent for the majority of our meal. I highly recommend giving this place a try, you won't regret it.

Placed an order online, but it didnt go through for technical reasons. got there to pick it up and the staff up front were very helpful and quick to place the order for me to get it through. mind you this was at 1:20, their kitchen closes at 1:30. They got the order out in 10 mins if even that. Awesome service, really appreciate them.

This is going to become a regular spot! I needed a place to meet with a few friends, and Flips was chosen. It's a welcoming environment, mostly because of the stuffed polar bear in the entrance (no joke). There was plenty of seating, and the atmosphere was lively. Multiple bars, pool tables, taxidermied animals, etc. And the food was delicious and affordable! I also really appreciated the staff. My waitress was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. The kitchen accidentally messed up a small part of my order, and the waitress was apologetic and very fast to resolve it. I was impressed, and I will be returning!

Food was excellent as usual. New bartenders who were very rude and selective to whom they serve. I asked for a military discount, I was told that I had to be in uniform which was odd. I was told by a big guy sitting at the bar just pay your f**king tab and leave. He is big guy seems to know everyone there. It was unexpected bad experience from a place that I always enjoyed going there. It looks like there is a gang running the place at night now. Be careful when you go there. When I asked for a manager, I was forced out. I hope management read this review and check the surveillance cameras to take corrective action.

Awesome place. Food, service and atmosphere are all A+. Would like to see a higher end option for their meat but still really good. Highly recommended

I have been coming to this place for years. They don't offer ant type of rewards We spend at least $300.00 a week and when I ask to watch a college fame on one of their remote out of the way TV's managers David wont change it. Makes me wonder why are we still coming here. What. Are the advantages!

Would give no stars if I could. I used to come here all the time, and it was amazing, but the server I had this time was so rude the entire time we were here. She barely came to the table to check on us and was dismissive and/or rude when she did visit our table. She didn't write our order down, so she got my order COMPLETELY wrong, and when I said that, she rolled her eyes and was rude about me sending it back. Everyone else started eating because I told them I didn't want their food to get cold, and that didn't matter because the food was all cold when it came out anyway. Fries were less than room temp, and the burgers were a little bit warmer than the fries. The patties were thin and overcooked as well. The second time my food came out, she just dropped it off and glared at me every chance she got afterward. Highly doubt I'll be back if there's even a chance she's going to be my server again.

Large casual bar with reliable dishes and service. Chill place to hangout for happy hour and shoot some pool. Outdoor patio is a nice option.

We eat here quite often so we know the servers. All are great! Lately there have been some new faces. The food is definitely always good. Try the onion rings.

Went for quick drinks on a Saturday night. I had Moscow mule and hubby had house margarita! Both were great. 2 bar areas make more seating in bar area. Our bartender was nice and swift lady. We enjoyed our nice small visit. Don't forget to click pictures with polar bear on both sides of entrance, gave me Alaska feels.

We had nine people and everyone said their meal was "okay". I had the Philly and it was meh. Server was nice but never refilled our drinks once. Cool atmosphere, might go back to play pool and eat a snack but not for a meal.

Flips is a survivor of Covid19! Kill the fatted calf and have Flips cook it for you. The patio is open and their tables are very well spaced apart. The staff wear PPE. The food is as it's usual great level. Support this local treasure

Second time hanging out at a spot like this with an amazing friend. Business turns to laughter and easy connections are made. The chips and salsa was amazing. Actually, not the salsa...the cheese, omg the cheese was so amazing. We ate almost every chip and you get alot of chips . They have the best happy hour ever. 4 dollar cab, $2 somethings, and shots . All really good deals. The location is awesome if you want to bounce around. The inside is huge and fun and an outside gathering would be great as well. I just love it. Great spot

I love flips! The appetizers are sooooo gooooooooood! Especially the fried mushrooms. Jalapeño wrapped bacon was good but gotta watch out some are extra hot. The wings are okay, not great. Mac and cheese balls are rich, wish it was more cheesy tho. The burger here are huuuuge! And totally worth the price! blue cheese good and the greco is good too!!! U can substitute your sides for onion rings if you don't want fries. Corona Rita is da best, they got some good happy hour as well. Dallas blonde is a good beer. You can buy small or large! There's one day where the large cost the same as a small glass of beer.

Flips still makes a good ass burger. I got a no frills cheese burger. It was cooked to a perfect medium, and the layers of cheese on it was gooey and delicious. Veggies where fresh and crisp. I was totally satisfied with the late lunch on Saturday. My waiter hooked it up with an awesome cranberry and pineapple juice as well.

Came here with some of the guys. Wasn't a bad place at all. Service was great. Food was decent from what we ordered. Felt like it could've been a bit better but overall it was still decent and I'd at least pay a visit here once to say I've been here. I will say that I loved the pretzel appetizer I ordered though. That was actually satisfying but not sure if it was because I was craving it or because it was actually good lol.

Still the best hamburger in this area. Ordered medium rare flips big cheesy with bacon and it was great. The service was fantastic and the drinks were great. It is still our favorite place in DFW. The hand cut fries are fresh and crunchy crisp You can't go wrong with flips. Just went there a few days ago and their hamburgers are still fantastic.

I enjoy coming here after work to unwind, grab a yummy burger and drinks. This place is huge! It's clean with comfy booths, large TV screens everywhere (including the outside patio), pool tables for your enjoyment, and awesome restrooms. Fave appetizers are the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers and cheese sticks. The burgers are really good. I come in thinking I want to try something new but always end up with a burger! Our waiter was Matt today and he was friendly and attentive, despite apparently training a new hire. He didn't rush us out (we like to talk) but still checked up on us every now and then. Overall, great experience!

Kenzie is hands down best server I've had here. I've been coming for years. We'll be back thanks to her hospitality!!

The atmosphere here is Pretty typical. Almost reminds me of Twin Peaks, minus the cute girls in themed outfits. There are TVs everywhere, as well as a projection TV up on the wall. Jon G. and I stopped by to watch the game and have some beers. Bar stools are nice and cushion-y, bartender was polite and very no nonsense. She was on top of everything! From beers to food and checking in. Great customer service! After checking out the menu, we decide to get a sampler platter to split. We considered the list of options and decided on the fried cheese curds, Mac and cheese balls and lemon pepper wings. Food was out pretty quick, about 10 mins., and came served on a bed of fried onions, which I thought was kinda cool. I was a bit disappointed in the cheese curds, tasted more like regular smoked cheddar cut into cubes and deep fried. Not terrible, but not what I was expecting. Lemon Pepper wings were yummy, juicy and nicely cooked. Mac and cheese balls were salty and also pretty mushy in the center. Definitely could have been better. We decide to split one more sampler (savages, I know!) and this time we got two different flavors of wings, the 24kt Gold and regular Hot, as well as fried pickles. Again everything was served on a bed of crispy, fried onions. 24kt fell short of the mark for me. The flavor of the sauce was ok, sweet, tangy with a hint of heat. But the sauce itself was too thin for my liking, it didn't really glaze the wings at all, more so just barely clung on and what was on the wings, dripped off. The Hot flavor was average, nothing to rave about. Sadly, fried pickles were also wayyy too salty! I get the whole "salty food in a sports bar" thing, but my mouth was burning from the salt! The fried pickles were the only thing out of everything we got that we didn't finish. I stopped by the bathroom on the way out. Super spacious and clean in there! I've been to some places where the bathrooms have haunted me. Not here! They also provide little paper cups and a mouthwash container with a pump, big thumbs up here! I really enjoy places that do that because who wants to kiss their significant other after a meal and taste what they just ate? Despite my overly salted food and practically sauceless wings, I'd definitely return to Flips for beers and to watch games. Although next time, I think I'll stick with my lemon pepper wings!

Location good, building good, employees good, price good, food-grease was burned and should have been changed-since a lot of the food is fried-it's to bad it ruined the experience.

If you want no one to acknowledge your presence, un-bussed tables and unmasked customers walking everywhere, inside and outside this is the location for you. We sat at a dirty table on the patio for 20 minutes without at least 4 waitresses look our way. If you want a much better experience, drive over to the Flips in Grapevine where you have 1 server that busts their ass to serve everyone there with a smile. We were served in Grapevine within 3 minutes.

Been here a few times and was treated very well except this time the bartender a man; we sat at the bar order drinks and We were paying in cash he had the nerve to tap on our printed tab in front of us as in (hurry up & pay) like i never been treated that way in my life !!!!!!!! This was the night before thanksgiving. We paid our tab! and wanted more drinks after and we ordered again at the bar he pretended like he didn't hear us, MORE concerned other customers we had to call him 3 times(the 1st time he blew it off with a hand signal as if he was too busy ) till he served us again WORST BARTENDER Ever had in my life. I actually like flips to chill and drink but the bartender this man just made he very disgusted with his lack of professionalism never again ever with him, i could even tell with other customers they were getting on there nerves also.

Food not good. Drinks are okay. The steak tasted horrible. Better off going next door to Twin Peaks.

I removed my old review complaining about slow wifi speeds. MGMT increased it to over 50mbps. That's fast enough for us to host a fantasy football draft. Love the food and drink specials at Flips. I have been coming here for years. 5-stars thanks for listening!

I heard about this place from a customer that I delivered DoorDash to. He said it was amazing. The place is pretty cool. They have pool tables and games. The service was consistent and good as well. My 3 star review comes from the food. The Texan burger I had was ok. The bacon wrapped jalapeños definitely NEED to be de-seeded and de-veined!!! I'm one to snack on pickled jalapeños and usually eat them with everything. I even love making my own bacon wrapped jalapeños; it's just tedious. So I was excited when I seen that they had them on their menu. However, they just add the cream cheese on top of the seeds and veins. This makes them unbearable and inedible. Out of the whole appetizer l, I was only able to manage 2 at a time before my whole body felt like it was on fire. I'd say only about 2 of them were tolerable!!!

The food here never misses . The service does vary because some of the waitresses are better than the others . But overall a great place to eat and get good food . They also got great cake there but I ain't talking no dessert.

Flip's is always a good time to go, this was one of my first bar's I went to when I first came down to Fort Worth for my first job interview. Their food menu is extensive and I have never had anything I did not like. I generally stick with a burger, with the Texan being my absolute favorite. Always a good place to catch a game (any sport) as it has lots of big screens, and two bar areas with pool tables, etc. Their patio often has live music and has the misting fans going during the hot Texas summers. Flips always has some kind of happy hour or special going on, so definitely a place worth checking out when thirsty and/or hungry.

Service here is drab, but it is a sports bar, so I will let that go, food is always Hot and fresh, I usually always get the taco salad, and my boyfriend always gets a burger. The atmosphere is always laid back, and there are plenty of TVs for you to see whatever game or show you were coming out to see.

Completely recommend requesting Celica as a server next time.. She made Brunch the best time ever.. Will be back!!!

Walked in here on a Monday night around 10ishhh. No hostess at the door which is understandable. I guess this place is more of a bar than a restaurant? I ordered the grilled shrimp and broccoli with rice. My entree was very dry, the shrimp tasted burnt it was way over-grilled/cooked. This place has pool and a nice patio. It's good for drinking and socializing with friends. Come here if you want to pre-game and have a chill night out, but not if you want to celebrate anything extravagant.
