12 Top-Notch Rooftop Bars in Phoenix | Eater Phoenix

"This 13th-floor bar in the Hilton Garden Inn makes the most of its unlucky number, offering cleverly named cocktails that bring murder mysteries to mind, including The Lady Vanishes, Blackmail, and Guilty Witness. Customers stay comfortable via misters, heaters and firepits, all while getting close-up views of downtown Phoenix and long shots of the Valley’s dramatic skyline. A small menu offers barbacoa beef cheek tostadas, a charcuterie board, and variously topped bruschetta. Reservations are required, and stays are limited to 90 minutes." - Nikki Buchanan

Google
If you're looking for a roof top to enjoy the atmosphere, this is the worst one I've been to thus far in downtown Phoenix. Drinks and finger foods were limited and different from what we found online. Prices were avg. for downtown Phoenix and for what they had on the menu, prices seemed fine. The waitress did her best to accommodate with what selections were available. Personally, I drank half of my flat diet Coke through my paper straw... I definitely wasn't impressed. Lastly, I found it laughable that the food "recommendations" section for this review had dishes that they no longer have on their current menu.

Matt McLean

Google
Great bar with great views and great service. The bar is located on top of the Hilton garden hotel. But you do not need to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy this bar. I got here as soon as they opened right before sunset. The menu is a little bit limited but there are still some good options. I got the pork belly and it was really good. It took a while for the food to come out but the wait was completely worth it.

If 13 is Taylor Swift's favorite number, the number 13 can't be all that bad. Located on the thirteenth floor at the Hilton Garden Inn is Floor 13 Rooftop Bar. As the name suggests, it's a bar that sits on top of a rooftop and it offers you some amazing views of the Phoenix skyline. They have an adorable holiday pop-up, Miracle on at Floor 13, that runs from Nov 21-Dec 30th, Sun-Thurs 5PM-10PM, Fri & Sat 5PM-12AM. I got the Christmasaurus ($21 - pineapple run, mezcal, velvet falernum, apricot liqueur, lime, coconut milk, toasted cumin, coffee & pineapple syrup, and aromatic bitters): I know, it's a lot of ingredients. It tasted a lot too. Boozy and complex, I'm not sure this was for me. I took a few sips before I gave it to my friend, even. For food, I got some sliders that were essentially was Thanksgiving leftovers. Turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, and some mashed potatoes nestle in between some shiny buns. It was $21 for three sliders. Gotta love those DT Phoenix prices. And since it was Christmas themed, there was a very ornery Grinch walking around. It's a cute holiday pop-up inside a gorgeous art deco bank-turned-hotel. The views are spectacular and you'll surely enjoy the views.

Liz

Google
The food and drinks are always solid here- if typical and slightly overpriced. You're really paying for the view. I come every year for their Christmas event, because I love hot buttered rum. This year it was thick, delicious, and actually HOT! Their Christmas themed food is a win too. Normally, I'm not super impressed with Floor 13, but Christmas is the time to go. They really should look into doing more holiday themed events like this to draw in more customers throughout the year. I would have appreciated a non-alcoholic beer or mocktail option for my pregnant friend as well.

Google
Great location — a fun, hidden-in-plain-sight kind of spot. We enjoyed an incredible Arizona sunset with mixed drinks and some truffle fries. It’s definitely more of a bar than a restaurant, but the atmosphere is fantastic. The staff was awesome, and the views were absolutely stunning.

Tasha Smith

Google
Food was super basic and super high. $19 for these pretend truffle fries. They were the frozen steak fries that I buy at times for home. Unreal and the truffle was chunks of cheese that smelled bad. Needless to say, I never ate them. I had a kiwi type drink that mediocre for $23. I never need to visit this place again. The ambiance was just ok. The server however was very nice. Super small space and not the hype everyone made it to be. I did take a cute pic tho

Google
I had high expectations for this place . I must admit it has great views. It’s very casual and the staff is polite. The cocktails were great unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. The menu they gave us had 8 options for small plates. We were able to order only 3 cold dishes and truffle fries. The food took about 50 minutes to an hour to reach our table. It wasn’t busy at that time to excuse the delay, there were about 5 other tables .The second round of drinks took another 30-40 minutes. I don’t know if the slow service is due to management or understaff issues,it definitely needs to improve. The menu should be updated if they can’t provide half of the options listed. It would be nicer if the servers check on you for second round of drinks and water instead of patrons trying to chase the staff. I would expect an apology of the server or manager if the service takes too long. Communication goes a long way. I tried to enjoy the moment but I don’t think it made a positive impression to recommend or re visit . We were a table of 4 and they automatically added 18% service charge. I wish them well and hopefully they improve for future patrons.

Google
Incredible! Low key, intimate vibe with great service. Finding it was tricky but honestly a very unique experience!

Yelp
One of the coolest rooftop bars in Phoenix. Great vibes and incredible drinks. Drinks are a little overpriced, but the view makes up for it. Stay away from Barcoa Agaveria!!!

Yelp
For a rooftop bar, this has a great view of the city with a view from three sides of the building. As you would expect, drinks and food were moderately pricey. They also automatically add gratuity to your bill with no heads up. We got two drinks and two apps to share and the total was nearly $100 although the food and drinks were VERY good!

Jane A.

Yelp
My hubby and I had a weekend getaway here and made it into the rooftop bar. It was quite windy so it was actually empty. We were the only ones there but we enjoyed ourselves. Service was attentive. The drinks were good. We had the margarita, and tried a few others. We also tried a dessert and wasn't bad.

John L.

Yelp
Very impressive. We had low expectations from years ago. But we wanted to try it first the views. Totally different, great place. Smaller, not super loud, great sunset views and the food and drinks are excellent!!!! We will come back..

Yelp
I went for the Miracle Pop Up, and it was cute kitschy fun. I like the atmosphere of the Christmas fun, including a visit by the Grinch! They had a lot of rules told to us when we sat down, but then they seemed to run behind and we had trouble paying, despite being told there was a firm 90-minute time limit. Despite that, we still had a good time. It was nice they offered us blankets, too. The drinks were cute in the themed glasses. We had a variety of drinks, and most of them were good, although on a spectrum. My favorite was the Christmasapolitan, which had really good flavor, although maybe the least interesting vessel. (Still, it was a cute coupe.) The Yippee Kai Yay, Mother F***er was also not just fun to say, but tasted great. I'd pass on the Carol Barrel, though. Strange flavor. All in all, the drinks were good, though. The food, however, was absolutely horrible. I ordered a flatbread that came out cold and only got more inedible as I tried to eat it. Weirder yet, it came out with pesto, even though the menu did not say that it contained pesto. My friend got some bruschetta that was small, overpriced, and not particularly tasty. The s'mores plate only came with a few marshmallows, but there was a bunch of fruit on it, which isn't really what I expected from s'mores. I definitely have to take off a star for how bad (and overpriced!) the food was, but otherwise it was a 4-star experience.

Yelp
We love a good rooftop bar and there aren't many here in Phoenix so we were excited to visit. We left disappointed. I'll admit we were tired after a show but it the service didn't help. The servers were rude but definitely not friendly and service was very slow. We did only one round of drinks and would have done more if the first hadn't taken so long. Disappointing experience as they have such a great spot and views.

Yelp
Went here for a private event. We arrived at sunset and caught the golden hour for rooftop pics! There was live music and the singers had incredible vocals. They really set the mood for the whole night with blended pop songs on the guitar. Food 3/5 Margarita pizza- tasty, a great dish to soak up the alcohol Grilled veggies and hummus dip- pretty good! Healthy option Drinks 4/5 The bartenders made custom drinks for us based on what our preferences were- well balanced! I had gin and tonics with a different juice each time, it was refreshing! Overall I would say this is a great spot to enjoy the sunset and host private events!

Yelp
Great food and excellent service, topped off with great views, make this well worth checking out. The sunset view there is amazing.

Yelp
Taylor made our date night even better with her outstanding service! She was friendly, engaged and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Rooftop bars are my go-to and this place did not disappoint. The view was stunning, although slightly obstructed by the neighboring building. Nevertheless, it was still a fantastic sight to behold. I ordered a drink and enjoyed...
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
Careful of the bruschetta it comes with raisins. Drinks are on point and the view is pretty cool

Yelp
We couldn't have been happier with our choice for a Girls Night out! Our servers Liana and Jeff were pleasant, kind and efficient in their service. The fun Holiday drinks made by mixologist Alyssa were served in fun glassware which you can actually purchase the glasses for a gift. Alyssa made the drinks and was wonderful at accommodating my request for an out of the ordinary martini. The martinis were served in a snowflake old fashioned champagne glass. I was able to meet Ivan the manager we were chatting and he actually said, " It's my job to make customers happy" . Thank you Ivan you truly lead by example and with a servants heart. Lastly Best small plates ever the Turkey sliders and flatbreads were delicious and fit in perfectly with the Holiday theme. Please make a reservation to experience this Miracle at Floor 13.,.

Yelp
They do not deserve this location! Drinks were not special at all, not even close. We were only there for a quick stop and ordered the pork belly tacos, I have to say this was probably, actually it was definitely the worst excuse of a taco I have ever encountered anywhere, I'm pretty sure it was tuna fish lol, that's what it tasted like anyways, was not in any way close to being good, not even a bit! Yes it's a great location and neat view but that's it, what a disappointment, also they charge an auto gratuity on top, I'm assuming because no one would tip them otherwise. Don't waste your time or money.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Meh. There are better rooftops. The staff was inattentive and the drinks are pre-made so you can't modify ingredients. The views are mostly of the buildings, not the sunset.

Heather H.

Yelp
The drinks were fantastic....it was the best margarita I've had in a long time. I also tried the Hitchcock Old Fashion, which was excellent. The service was horrible. One server stood at the bar the entire time we were there and just talked with the bartender and didn't do anything. Drinks sat empty across the roof top. And be forewarned- an 18% service charge is added to the bill, so if you don't notice it, you end up double tipping.

Yelp
This place has been rated the #1 rooftop bar in Phoenix. It was a cloudy day but the weather so perfect for a cocktail and conversation. Walk into the lobby and look for the red door to get up to 13th floor. Very clean and not too many people on a Thursday night. We parked around the corner but you can pay at the hotel for valet. Great atmosphere and music, a good chill vibe.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Reservation required. Came here for their Christmas pop up and it did not disappoint. My favorite food item on the menu was the meatballs. My favorite drink was the eggnog! The food and drinks took a while to arrive but was worth the wait.
google avatar

Rhett G.

Yelp
This was a good place to garb a drink after the long week. The views are undeniably beautiful with the city all around. The sunset was amazing but blocked by many buildings. Each of our cocktails were very delicious and strong 10/10. The service was also very nice and friendly and quick. Only complaint was that they were out of many snack items on their menu despite having just opened 10 minutes before our arrival. The truffle fries were still very good. The drink pictured is called fatal figures and I highly recommend.

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Went with my girls to celebrate. The atmosphere was fun. The server jeff was very helpful, My friends and I had no idea what to order as it was our first time here but he was very helpful and gave some great suggestions on food and drinks! Everything was really good and our server had excellent customer service! Im sure well be back.

Brittnay R.

Yelp
Mishel was a dream server! Food was great, drinks were so yummy and service was quick
google avatar

Preston B.

Yelp
Got desert and drinks, mandatory 18% gratuity for a party of 4 and an additional food and beverage tax. The caramel dessert came with balsamic vinegar (intentionally is what the waitress said) Service also reddiculously slow, would recommend just looking at the view but not ordering food
google avatar

Christine P.

Yelp
Tonight we went to the holiday pop up bar! What a fun cool concept. Great mixed holiday drinks. We got the Yippe kaya mother f***! And the Christmapolitan. Also got two naughty shots and the s'mores. Such a fun experience. Nice lights and a guest appearance from Santa, this is the place to go if you have guests and town and want to grab a drink. The s'mores was super fun with a. Little personal fire to roast the marshmallows!
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
This is such a cool rooftop when you time it right to see the sunset! Like... WOW! Also super festive during the holidays! Strong holiday cocktails in fun mugs! They also provide cozy blankets and space heater when it gets chilly. I tried coming here a couple times before but this time I was lucky to make it for the sunset. This is a nice date night spot!
google avatar

Alexis V.

Yelp
Paradise Case, Into thin air and master of suspense super tastyyyy!!! I like this place but sometimes the waitresses are lazy and snooty lol
google avatar

Sake C.

Yelp
Ordered the t-Rex Christmas drink, drink was too sweet for my preference. Our server did tell me the drink was sweet, so I was not surprised when I tried my drink, but would still prefer for it to be less sweet.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Floor 13 is inside of the Hilton hotel. Once you enter keep walking straight past the first set of elevators and you will see on your left an elevator designated for Floor 13 bar. The elevator will take you directly up. The bar has a decent view, although depending on where you are seated you may be staring into the windows of the hotel next to it. The menu is quite limited in selections of foods and drinks. We went around sunset and it was pretty. I will say the service was slightly slow, but we were not in a rush.
google avatar

Tatiana D.

Yelp
Came here for the miracle bar but over all wasn't impressed at all with the decor. I have been to many of these pop up bars and this was probably my least favorite. The staff was over all night and being a roof top was fun but everything was def over priced and under decorated. We got the grandma got ran over by a dinosaur. It was $18 and was honestly alot of ice. The food options were limited so we decided to skip out after one drink. Probably wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Elena J.

Yelp
For the holiday themed bar, make sure you make a reservation. It's a fun little rooftop bar that has great views of downtown and we were able to catch the sunset peaking through the buildings. The mulled wine needed a little work but their chai cocktail was delicious! A fun place to check out for Christmas!
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
Scarlett was so friendly, and such an excellent waitress. She had amazing energy, even when she had a rough night. She really made our experience amazing. The ambiance was amazing. Drinks were really good! My friends and I enjoyed.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Love the Miracle at Floor 13 pop up! Such a fun spot to kick off the holiday season with friends! When you arrive at the Hilton, pass the main elevators to catch a ride on the Miracle Express elevator all the way up! You must RSVP (up to a week in advance)- recommend you park in the garage at Central and Monroe, it's a quick walk over.

Alexandra Lexi H.

Yelp
Michel KILLED it she is a phenomenal server!! checked on us multiple times and always have a smile on her face :)
google avatar

Shelby Z.

Yelp
Anytime I visit a city, I feel like it is a must that I search for a rooftop bar! Floor 13 was the first one I came across and it looked nice in pictures, so we decided to give it a shot. If you want to see some lovely views of downtown Phoenix, this is the perfect place to go. I would recommend getting a reservation, but luckily we were able to snag a spot without one. This bar is located in a bougie hotel, so the prices will be bit higher than normal. I enjoyed my wine though, so I had no issue with it. They did have some good-looking food options on their menu, but we did not try any. This place is awesome! It's the perfect place for drinks with a view in this city.
google avatar

Anthony V.

Yelp
Alex R is amazing. I love how she was so nice and came to check on not only us but every table. Very pleasant and friendly experience. Also thanks for the wonderful recommendations on drinks! Snowball old fashion was fantastic
google avatar

E Z.

Yelp
Overrated for sure! Sliders were listed for $50!!! Drinks were also all over $21. There is not much view either you just see the other buildings. It's a no for me unfortunately. The service team seemed pretty friendly and welcoming.

Matt D.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Beautiful views of the city and on a cool night, they got you covered with heat lamps. Try pork tacos, come in 3 but they're pretty small. I love them and ordered more. Best part of the experience was my server Mishel. Her suggestions on the menu and knowledge of the drinks were epic. Mishel was also very attentive to all her customers and always came to check on me with a smile. Will be back because of staff, food and awesome views.
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
Place was awesome. Stephanie was great and super sweet! View at sunset was even better!

Andrea C.

Yelp
I don't think I have EVER had an alcoholic drink I CANNOT drink. This place serves the worst drinks and food. I can make better food in my easy bake oven. Expensive for no reason. I will say- the vibes are fun, everything is decorated nicely with Xmas decor and they did give us blankets to use while sitting outside during the cold weather. The service was okay. Mediocre at best. We had a party of 10 and not one person could finish their drink. Might I add- we tried every single item on their holiday menu. Definitely eat and drink before you go. Enjoy the view and the ambience.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Sadly, this was a big let down. The drinks had too many flavors meshed together. Mine kind of tasted how a candle smells. And the food was meh for the price. But the worst part was they were out of the s'mores kits!! How??? Such a let down. Service was extremely slow and unenthusiastic. And on top of that they add an automatic 18% gratuity then bring a receipt that's asks you to tip on top of that. That said the decor was pretty. Music randomly cut out at one point then blasted back to life suddenly. We mostly just sat there wondering when someone would come check on us. Definitely would not return.

Kody Y.

Yelp
The best place in town!! Michele is the hands down best server around! So welcoming and always smiling! I go out of my way just to come here for her service!
google avatar

Haley D.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday drinks and let me say it was not a wow experience. I had heard online this was a great place for drinks with a great view. The view was nothing to rave about especially since we were surrounded by taller buildings. The staff were not excited about their jobs or serving. Our check was brought to us without even asking if we wanted a second round. It was not busy at all either. The drinks weren't bad but nothing very specialty for a place that's not a restaurant. We saw a taller building near and decided to try the restaurant on the top. Spectacular and great service. Go to compass Arizona at the top of the Hyatt instead. They have a revolving 360° glass restaurant.

Carly K.

Yelp
Liana and Jeff were the best part about stayed at the DT Garden Hilton PHX. super great service and wonderful drinks! super frie and remembered my drink after coming in one time! super great team up at the Roof Top Bar! thanks y'all!

Megan H.

Yelp
Beautiful and great drinks. Nicely hidden entrance to prevent massive crowds. Service varies, sometimes slow, sometimes on the ball.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Taylor was amazing. we had an abolition blast and she made tonight so memorable for my friends birthday. would come back

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Our server, Taylor, was so sweet and attentive! She made fantastic recommendations and took the time to talk to us. It's a small place, but such a fun vibe!
google avatar

Adriana R.

Yelp
5/5 for sure! Loved this place for Christmas! Haven't gone there after the holidays but I loved that they offered blankets and had heaters. I would definitely go again! Drinks were so good too.
google avatar

Steven A.

Yelp
They are very serious about reservations. The couple ahead of us without reservations was turned away after being quoted at 2 hours for a table, yet we were able to book online for a reservation within the next 15 minutes while standing there listening to the conversation. They also require a credit card for the reservation. This isn't New York.... Don't show up early for your reservation, as no one is allowed to stand by the host stand for 5 minutes while waiting for your reservation. But, if you show up 10 minutes late, you'll be charged (per the terms of conditions of the reservation). Don't expect good service. After waiting for our reservation, we sat at our table for 15 minutes without being greeted. We left. 45 minutes total for nothing. They take their time very seriously, but do not care about the customer's time. Phoenix needs more rooftops, but sadly this one takes a good thing and ruins it.

Yelp
My fiancé and I went here for date night this past Monday 11/28/22. We made reservations online as they are highly suggested. When you book online, it does state a $25 minimum drink beverage requirement per reservation for 2 people. They also put my credit card on file and it states that if you don't cancel within 24 hours of booking, they will charge a $15 fee to your card on file. Also, adults 21 and up only. You have a 10 minute grace period before you lose your seats. They give 1 hour and 30 minutes there. Our reservation was at 6:30 pm and we got there at about 6:10 and we seated ourselves. The ambiance was 10/10. Gorgeous views of the city. Christmas lights on the rooftop. Great music playing. Totally passed the vibe check. We were brought menus right away and they are Christmassy cute menus. They have Christmas cocktails and like 5 food menu items, so not a place for dinner. More like appetizers and drinks. I ordered the Christmapolitan and my fiancé ordered the Yippee Ki Yay Mother F****r! I got a nice shot and he got a naughty shot. The drink prices were a little high in my opinion. The most frustrating part about the whole visit was that the drinks way too long. We waited 30-40 minutes for drinks. It was a Monday night and there was maybe 4 tables plus us with maybe 15-20 people at the most. By the time the drinks came out, we had already decided we were going to drink our drinks, pay, and leave. The drinks were adorable though and they were quite delicious and really strong. Presentation, flavor, and ingredients used in drinks, I will give 8/10. They were fresh with fresh herbs and fruits. Anyways, we asked for the bill shortly after, and gratuity was already included and then an option for more tip? I just feel it was kind of crazy how high there standards and rules were for the customers, yet this bar barely met those same standards for the customers. For a table of 2, enforced gratuity is crazy. I feel it gives the mentality they are getting a tip either way, so service doesn't have to be spectacular. I'm only recommending this as a one time thing due to the views, decor, and drinks. Service missed the bar completely for us!
google avatar

Suzanne M.

Yelp
We made reservations for this bars holiday time. We got in fairly easy once checked in. Once we ordered, it literally took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Aside from that wait, our server was like whispering. Which was an awkward interaction to have. The Christmas music was a good addition, but the rest of the rooftop was silent, even though every table was filled. The drink mixes- less than good and I wouldn't recommend anyone come here. Even if it was a photo op situation for Instagram, there's better spots in downtown to venture to.
google avatar

Ray R.

Yelp
Taylor and Scarlett were very nice! It was very warm on the roof, but the inside area had air conditioning!
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
The view is great after sundown but it gets crowded fast (at least on a Friday!). A great place to stop and checkout if you are in the neighborhood or staying at the hotel and grab a nightcap!
