Flop House Comedy Club

Great show! Five out of six were hilarious. Cute venue… nothing pretentious. They sell drink drinks in the lobby (canned stuff—beer, wine, a cocktail or two.) The only thing I didn’t like is for some reason they kept playing girl pop punk before the show. I have nothing against Paramore, but it was just weird to hear. Maybe try hip-hop… sets more of a comedy vibe? lol Srsly, though. Great venue! 10/10 would return!

We had tickets to the show last night. When we got there we were told they would soon have the power shut off for a repair. They somehow seamlessly were moving the show to a local salon down the street. It honestly added to the experience and the community vibe. All of the comedians were really funny. Not one miss. Great night out!

Great, small venue for live comedy entertainment. The comics were considerably better than I was expecting and the staff at the venue was friendly. Prices for drinks were very reasonable and there was no expectation beyond the cost of admission, which was also very reasonable. I'm old enough to remember when NYC was full of small venues with live entertainment like this, and I'm glad to see that they still exist. If you're interested in saving a few bucks you can buy tickets online for a discount in advance, which might be a good move if you want to be guaranteed seating since the show we attended ended up selling out. I had dinner plans prior to the show and didn't want to commit to a time I thought I might not make, but in the future I'd go with advance tickets to be sure. Will definitely return for a show in the future, the fifteen bucks were well worth the laughs.

I'm writing this review in good faith as I like to see small independent venues succeed. I went to the variety show advertised as having 'HBO and Netflix comedians. I don't really think this is necessary. I personally did not recognize any of the performers as being associated with the big media platforms. More importantly, I don't really care. If I'm going to a small venue for a show, it's because I want to see local talent. Secondly, the show was advertised as being 1.5 hours long and it barely went over an hour. Finally, I'm not a fan of the two-tier ticket system (ie, cheaper if you buy early, more expensive on the day of the show). Sometimes I want to go to a show spontaneously. Having to pay more than someone purchased a ticket a day earlier is off-putting to me. I paid the higher price for the show and I'm not sure it was entirely worth it. I think you'd be able to fill the seats more easily without this kind of a thing. I hope my next experience is better.

Cute little place with a strong line-up My only feedback. Less shows so that there is more time for each show to be able to give the comics more time. They seemed rushed. Great price. No drink min. Lots of laughs.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but was absolutely delighted with the whole experience. This place is a gem. The line up was hilarious and the drink prices were super reasonable. I highly recommend.

I had a great time at flop house! The atmosphere was cozy and lively, perfect for a night of laughs. The comedians were hilarious.The staff was friendly and and the menu had a nice mix of drinks and small bites. It felt like a hidden gem for comedy lovers. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a fun night out!

Was nervous when we arrived and there was no one there but people trickled in and it was full and great... small space made it feel very engaging. Everyone was funny and the host was great. I definitely would have spent more money on non -alcoholic drinks, but they only had water.

I came here for a comedy show! The comedy show was about $15 per person which was not expensive! However, the comedy show was pretty cringeworthy- the comedians were not funny. I'm not sure if we were just a bad audience but this was overall pretty bad! They have a limited beer selection! Ambience: very cool! I wish the show was better but this venue is pretty awesome

Attended a Sammy Obeid comedy show in June 2024 with tickets purchased by a friend on Eventbrite before the show. Nice that there was no drink requirement or minimum after the ticket price. We did happy hour at a restaurant near the show (so many to choose from really) but if we wanted a drink during the show, there was a small bar in the lobby. Once you're in the stage room with all random movable seats full in rows, there's only one option for getting back out down the center aisle in front of the act with everyone else watching, so make sure your bladder can hang on for the comedy ride or you get that bathroom break before you grab your seat. Seating is pretty much choose what you want, so you could pick a folding chair, or a hard flat wood seat, or a cushioned crown of a seat. Early dibs get first pick for booty comfort and heckle visibility. Technically you can probably come here without a ticket and just hang out in the lobby for a drink and play one of the many board or table game they have in the lobby, which is a nice bonus, and technically even perhaps results in a free comedy show?!? The lobby and performance room is only separated by a curtain, so you can hear everything in both areas. We may have to test this theory in the future or see if we're booted for not being inside the performance room when the act begins, but it does make me curious!

Such an awesome show with great comedians and a gracious owner. No drink minimum and good drink selection. Would definitely go back!

Great comedy club that is close to several nice restaurants and bars! The staff are very nice here! I like that there is no food and beverage minimum. Limited drinks available. Also, there are games in the waiting area. Definitely a wonderful comedy club to visit! Pro tip: sit on one of the chairs with cushioning (there's a variety of chairs) since the show is over an hour.

Awesome new comedy club in a great area. Across the street from some of the best restaurants in the city, super great for a date night dinner and a great comedy show. The comics were all hilarious the space was intimate and the perfect atmosphere to laugh! Had a great night, everyone was so friendly. Great place to hang and meet people. Must come!

New comedy club, with some great comics every night. This NYC trip I went here twice, Comedy Cellar twice, Village Vanguard once, and Flop House was a far better time than the rest. The owner is super funny himself and I'm happy to have found this spot. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!
