We dined at Flora in November 2025. At the time, there were 5, 7 and 9 course menu options (chosen in advance). We went for the 9 course experience, but the 7 course menu offered particularly strong value and would be an excellent choice for most diners.
Standout dishes included the opening snacks, a smoked eel in beurre blanc with real depth, and a beautifully judged confit cod with caper cream tucked beneath Savoy cabbage. Dessert was a genuine contender for my year’s best: celeriac ice cream with malt cake.
Service is warm, personal and delivered by the owners themselves — Anna guiding the wine with real expertise and João leading the kitchen with confidence and precision.
If you’re into your wines, you’re in for a treat. The international list is, in my view, unmatched anywhere regionally, with exceptional value to be found.
The dining room is intimate and ideally suited to tables of two or four. Viseu may be a small city, but restaurants like this show exactly why it deserves more attention.
Definitely worth returning seasonally as the menu evolves.
