The 18 Best Restaurants & Bars In The Bywater & Marigny - New Orleans - The Infatuation

"Located right in the middle of the Marigny, Flora Cafe checks off everything you’d want from a neighborhood coffee shop. Local artwork on the walls? Yes. Good coffee and affordable breakfast and lunch food served all day? Confirmed. A cat that wanders around the shop, but isn’t overly friendly? You get the idea. They stay open until 10pm daily, so basically anytime you need a coffee or a snack, Flora Cafe is a good option." - chelsea brasted, megan braden perry

This is one of the most special places in New Orleans. It’s my absolute favorite place and it’s been a safe space for me to disappear into since I moved here almost five years ago. There are so many fresh cold and hot options for food, and they’re always adding new things to the menu. The coffee is always fresh, the baristas are always on top of it and friendly, and there are two shop kitties who roam around checking on the customers as well. Just an all around magical place.

Visiting town and walking to another coffee shop, and I almost passed by. So happy I did not. Very sweet people. Black bean burrito was great, coffee even better.

Beautiful cafe with delicious food!! My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab late night dessert. Found this cafe, open late and great reviews. So glad we stopped by here. The cafe was beautiful and so calming. The art around the cafe was stunning. Amazing customer service, an older gentleman, I didn’t get it his name, but he was so kind and helpful. He seemed like he loved his job. We had a great conversation, told us the owner is an Iranian man named Ali (sadly we didn’t get to meet him) but the gentleman took our order and even offered us some fresh apple ginger juice that he just made. There was a piano in the corner and even a friendly cat!! We ordered the tiramisu and the lemon blueberry cheesecake, it was delicious!! We sat down played some board games, after took a seat outside, it was stunning, everything from the plants, to the art and the lighting. So peaceful. Can’t wait to come here next time we visit new orleans!! Thank you!

Google
One of the best breakfast spots in the city. And it's open late, usually to about midnight. Awesome fresh juice varieties, great coffee, bomb food, and one of the best corners for people watching in the city, with Big Daddy's and Anna's across the street. This place has a vibe inside you'll have to see for yourself. Definitely one of the coolest coffee shops you'll ever see, totally New Orleans. They have open mics on Friday nights too, with a piano in the back. Nola gem, I've been coming here for over a decade.

Google
This is one of my favorite local coffee spots. Great food, juices, coffee and tea options. Nice desserts, also.

Excellent hot breakfast croissants, burritos and lattes! Wonderful local vibe with friendly staff and patrons. And a couple of shop cats to keep you company.

We went here on a rainy day and it was perfect. Played some games they have, amazing food with a great price, such a beautiful place to hang out

Google
My wife and I love this little place. She says their cheese Danish is the best she’s ever had. We love the variety of offerings, the friendliness of the staff, and the characters who like to hang out in front.

Yelp
Was having a rough morning, but they changed it around. Keeleya was awesome sweet and patient. The owner was just as awesome and generous. Sat and talked with him outside amongst others and just enjoyed the vibe of this place. Mix of everything. Piano makes it even better. Nice healthy choices a long with the other. They even have some fresh juice. I dig it. Lots of selection and coffee. Had cold brew and butter pecan and oat milk. It was good. They don't skimp on the eggs and toast either. All reasonably priced. Thanks again and will definitely stop by again next time!

Yelp
It's a quaint little place. The building is ancient, which is a New Orleans expectation, but it's to the point that it could use a bit of renovation, because the resulting vibe is a bit too close to dirty. The cold brew I got was pretty good coffee, and the barista was top notch friendly and helpful and personable. Honestly I'd go back simply to visit him if I lived in the area. The cookies we got were very good, and we think made in house, but it looks like their pastries might not be.

Yelp
If I could pack this spot up with me and bring it home, I would. We absolutely loved this small, "homey," intimate coffee shop. Thank you to the barista for being so accommodating each day we visited. You come here for the breakfast sandwiches!! We ordered the exact same order every morning we were in town: hot caramel macchiato and a sausage, egg & cheese croissant WITH homemade apple butter, freaking delicious - we even went on Thanksgiving morning. The sandwich is everything you'd expect in a breakfast sandwich to be: croissants was soft, buttery and warm, eggs were fluffy and light, sausage links were just crispy around the edges, and the apple butter? Don't leave without it. Pricing is super convenient esp for the quality of food. Do not pass up this gem when you're in town, simple!

Yelp
The vibe here feels exactly like what a local coffee shop should be. A little eclectic and grungy. Plus a pretty broad range of food options too; anything with curry involved is really good! Lots of seating space inside and out so you could hang here for a good amount of time. Curry, Egg & Potato Wrap: We need to normalize curry for breakfast in this country. Note quite a breakfast burrito, since it seems to use a lavash wrap rather than a tortilla. Which I think is actually a better wrap choice anyway. The potatoes dominate and the eggs are lightly mixed throughout, so it does kinda feel like you're having a nice aloo curry. My mouth got energized in the morning with all those spices. Almond Danish: Like a regular danish, but with a bunch of almond paste in the middle. Kinda like that filling in almond croissants. Ultimately, I think I prefer fruit danishes more, but this was still good with coffee. Red Velvet Muffin: Definitely tasted more like a muffin than a cake, since there was no signature cream cheese frosting. The muffin did have a dark red coloring and tasted little lighter than a regular muffin. Olive Salad Sandwich: Looks a little like a muffaletta, but it is no muffaletta. The olive salad tastes nice, but it's otherwise kinda dry and a little boring with just turkey. Olive Salad Pita Pizza: Also not that impressive, since it's basically cheese and olive salad on a pita. And the olive salad is in big chunks. so they often roll off. Gyro Plate w/ Curry: There was a hummus complication because the hummus was frozen, so I got a scoop of curry instead. That curry was very nice with some green colored beans, potatoes and a few mushrooms. Tasted really good with the toasted pita points. The gyro meat was ok, a little too thick cut for my tastes. Chai Latte: Loved the strong spices in this milky brew. Comforting on a brisk day.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to give this little shop a try! We had great service, and the best coffee & cinnamon roll! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place has a Good vibe , it's peaceful, friendly ,got the pemesto Bagle ,yummy !! great prices !!!!!

Yelp
The breakfast burritos here are so delicious! They have a full breakfast & lunch menu, as well as a pastry case, and I wish I could have tried everything! The lattes weren't anything special, but they were extremely sweet -- next time I go, I'll probably try asking for half the normal amount of syrup.

Barbara ..

Yelp
Best kept secret of New Orleans! This place is no corporate bs and serves delicious salads, desserts, sandwiches and coffee. I love this place. Kip behind the counter was wonderful! What customer service!

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop that fits the charm of the Marigny neighborhood. When I walked in, there was someone casually playing the piano, that's in the cafe. It was delightful. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and some lush plants outside which adds to the vibe. The barista is very friendly. The coffee offerings are as you would expect and the prices are on point too. If you like the flavored coffees, this place has a full selection of choices. I enjoyed an iced hazelnut latte. Food offerings are good and seems like coming early to catch the breakfast options is best. I missed breakfast this time, so I'll have to check back. But... THE CURRY! Flora Cafe makes a house vegan curry over jasmine rice. It's so delicious and affordable! I'd definitely get it again. If you like vegan curry or live a vegetarian or veg life, it's worth giving it a try. Not spicy, so they offer hot sauce to add to it. Super enjoyed it.

Yelp
Bonus star for next level, authentic "only-in-NOLA" funkiness. Full of colorful locals. I'm hesitant to review a unique spot like this because an onslaught of tourists could ruin it, but it's just far enough from the French Quarter to keep that from happening. Friendly staff. Plenty of tables inside, with some books and board games to entertain you while you're hanging around. More tables outside on both sides of the building. Walking up to the entry feels more like you're in a tropical jungle than the Marigny. Duck behind the banana tree and into the cozy shop, where sensory overload will kick in. I'm still not sure what all I saw, but I do know that they have good coffee and a case full of tempting breakfast and lunch "grab & go" offerings in addition to a menu from which to choose more traditional options. I had a gooey cinnamon roll and coffee. Thoroughly enjoyed both on the sidewalk while soaking up the local vibe.... & 80 degree mid-December sunshine.

Yelp
My friend is allergic to nuts and the staff gaslit him into thinking that their pesto sandwich had no nuts on Tuesday. He was throwing up for couple hours with shortness of breath, inflammation, chest pain, and had a high temperature. Otherwise he and his friends really like the cafe, so that is why this is not a one star review. I just thought other people should know, in case they have a nut allergy. It would be great if the staff can label their sandwiches from now on.

Yelp
Very standard coffee shop/café with sort of replacement level breakfast burritos. Nothing to complain about but also nothing to write home about. I was able to feed our group of 10 for pretty cheap with what I got here so I'm not complaining too much. But for it to make sense, it has to be conveniently located for you.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood coffee shop. I had a cafe au lait, which is evidently not the thing to order here - it was made out of coffee pumped out of a thermos and added milk. Usually a latte is made from espresso. I did not like my coffee. However, this place has a great vibe and tons of outside seats covered with plants. Great place to people watch, hangout, and relax. Dogs allowed. Street parking. Two huge newly paved bike paths out front. Everyone was following covid precautions.

Yelp
I love this place. Been coming here since 2011 before I was a resident of New Orleans, and it's always been amazing, but today I came in and had a chicken rice spinach and mushroom burrito, and it was so good, it reminded me I'd never left a review in all these years! I love the ambience, the mixture of art and masks for sale by the owner, as well as local artists, the books and games set out to pass the time, the wifi lol

Yelp
What an interesting spot in the Bywater. This place screams "local spot" in every way. The barista knew several of the patrons by name, and many of them seemed to know each other. The owner had dinner with some people right there in the room. His cat was running in and around the area. As I left in the evening, the outdoor seating was completely taken up by a group of friends and their dogs. This is the sort of place I love, and I believe every community needs. It's not a Starbucks, or a PJs, and you need to understand that before you go. It isn't pristine or perfect. You can definitely score a delicious chai latte and pemesto (tomato, pesto, cream cheese) bagel, which I gladly did. Its definitely the kind of place you become intimate with over time, and I think anyone who expects to be treated like family walking in the door is really missing the point. Everyone is perfectly friendly and the food is good, but if you can remember that not everything is for everyone then you'll really appreciate this spot.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in the city. Funky little spot, with rad local art inside. Omar makes excellent dishes, with his random popups depending on the day. Great coffee, and they do a random array of juices as well. I particularly enjoyed the watermelon juice and the beet lemonade. Great spot for vegans as well. And a great venue to acquire information about all the local groups doing wonderful work in the area. Many college students frequent here to to their work, and shoot the freeze. You'll also see some cool stuff going on just having a drink outside, many parades and such converge on this location, right across from Mimi's. Been in my rotation for quite some time, for I am social bike rider here in New Orleans. Definitely I spot to see the random awesomeness you'll only see here in the Big Easy baby!

Yelp
Burritos, coffee, tea, fresh squeezed juice and muffins oh my!!! Funky deco, slight rough around the edges but we are so glad we came you so t be disappointed!!

Yelp
I came to Flora Cafe for the first time 14 years ago, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, when the streets of the city were nearly abandoned, except for the national guardsmen navigating the narrow streets in their Humvees, and the real hardcore residents who either stayed through the storm or returned shortly after to recover their beloved city. Bless those folks!! Well, at that time Flora was staffed by a couple old men (owners?) who served up a nice coffee, a bean bowl, or a pastry. I remember the place being grimy and full of art, a piano, classic board games, playing cards, books, eccentric knicknacks, and god knows what else. Returning a decade and a half later, I found the place itself unchanged. The biggest difference I noticed was that it seems to have become a favorite spot for who I refer to as 'The Sepia Krewe' for their dirty grimy appearance. These are street punks who seem to revel in filth, and are always accompanied by a few mutt dogs. None the less, I found a place to drink my coffee, and observe the requisite shenanigans for a while before moving along. The coffee was good, I didn't try the Pemesto Bagel, but from the looks of it they are a favorite. As I sat, I heard at least 4 folks order it, and even anticipate its deliciosity! I'll definitely come back to Flora next time I come to the city, if only to try that bagel!! This place is a real place, being itself and nothing else. Oh, one more thing: if the weather is decent, the sidewalk outside is a relaxing place to study, work, or just chill thanks to the lush container garden surrounding the place. Stop in and get a feel for that crescent city charm, talkin' bout Flora-style!

Yelp
I lost my favorite local coffee shop to new ownership and generic hipster decor (another one bites the dust). Though Flora doesn't have the same vibe as the dearly departed, it is a welcome safe haven. The barrista was kind. The clientele were local AF (from young to old, from punk to hippy, and everything in between). The sweet foods were sating. The house iced tea was super interesting (mix of jasmine and earl grey tea with a dash of cranberry juice). It's inside of a house. It's mellow. It has a piano. Hodgepodge furniture. I got stink eye from at least two patrons because I had my suitcase with me (on the way to the airport). I appreciated that territoriality. Ironically, that'll have me come back.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
Flora has a new Turkish chef with a new menu featuring delicious Borek. There is a new bread and a host of new items in the case including plenty of coffee and house made banana bread. The same great friends are there now even better food. This is a very happening place especially for people watching.
google avatar

Devon M.

Yelp
Excellent writing cafe. Just enough tables to sit and work for a few hours without ever feeling like you're overstaying your welcome. The baristas are sweet and the patrons are friendly and the whole place has the perfect neighborhood feel I was looking for while I was in town. I'll be returning on my next trip. (NB: The card minimum is $5.)
google avatar

Marielle S.

Yelp
This is pretty much the exact type of shop I picture when I think of the Bywater: a small place packed with neighborhood locals, a little sketchy and no ac. I like it here, for the most part. They don't have ac, or at least it wasn't on the evening I stopped in, so I do wonder what happens in the summer. There is a nice little crowd of locals sitting outside, and even a few shop kitties walking around and sleeping on chairs at the tables. Not only is Flora a coffee shop, but it's a juice bar. I wasn't in the mood for java when I stopped in, so I decided to get a nice carrot juice. There is a large seating area in the back, so we were able to sit back there and chat while some other customers played a board game in the front. I really did like this place. It has a "hipster" kind of atmosphere, but it's a good group of folks and I could see myself stopping in if I lived in the area.

Amber S.

Yelp
Local, artistic, super fast service, friendly staff- perfect iced latte on a hot day.

Cynthia H.

Yelp
We got breakfast here as it's close to the inn we stayed at while in town. My fiancée got a hearty breakfast burrito and I got a vegan breakfast bowl.
google avatar

Yelp
Art, coffee, dessert and life-saving sandwiches, Flora Gallery has a plethora of awesome. But about these "life-saving sandwiches." On Mardi Gras morning, I was in dire need of food. In my haste to get costumed and downtown, I had no time to eat and, well, by 11am I had to get my drinking on so that I could catch up with the rest of the city who had been drinking since Lundi Gras. We were at a standstill on Franklin in front of Mimi's, whose kitchen wasn't open. I thought Flora was just one of those charming, rundown coffee shops, but went in to see if I could even get some pastry type of thing, but lo and behold, they had a lovely list of sandwiches, including a couple vegetarian selections. I ordered a falafel and hoped for the best, because these can often go so so wrong, even in Middle Eastern joints. But! I was so so so wrong to worry, because this was a pretty fucking good falafel! I also am thoroughly charmed by the atmosphere in here, which I'm going to call bayou chic (*ducks*). Seriously, it reminds me of a cute little shack you'd stop in after a swamp tour, only with art instead of taxidermy (and I'm not knocking taxidermy. I love gator heads) and espresso instead of swill.
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
Flora Gallery is the place I would take someone if I was trying to explain the concept of "bohemian". There's a broad mix of local characters inside and out front. There's one of the lushest and most inviting sidewalk chlorophyll jungles I've seen anywhere outside Malaysia. No two chairs or tables inside are alike. The requisite mishmash of wall decoration and public notices that any proper Bohemian establishment would have are there, as well. As a working stiff with a job and spouse and kids in school in college, I like to stop here and imagine I'm working on my novel or enjoying a coffee on the way to my art studio or just whiling away some time while I wait for the check from the trust fund. There's something refreshing about the slightly inconsistent service, menu offerings, and general atmosphere that you don't get from coffee shops that have a corporate office, even if it's a New Orleans corporate office. In the mornings, freshly made muffin or biscuit sandwiches are good choice. I've never had a bad cup of coffee here, either.
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
I really want to love this place. It has a great location. There are always cool, interesting folks hanging out. It has funky surroundings full of groovy art, a decent selection on the menu with a little something for everyone. But tonight we got served some super weak lattes for $4.50 each and they came in styrofoam. "Meh. I've experienced better."
google avatar

Brandon R.

Yelp
Flora is the ugly girl that turns out to be the prettiest at the high school prom. I stayed just a few blocks from here, and stopped in by chance. The Yelp gods must have been smiling on me. I ordered a black bean salad and sat down. In less than five minutes the waitress brought it out to me. I just checked my mail, and my mouth sent me a card, thanking me for ordering the black bean salad. There was also an erotic drawing included in the card. Seems I have a dirty mouth? Anyway. Back to Flora's. It's local. I stayed here for a good two hours, and didn't see one tourist. That's a good thing. I would LOVE to hang out here all day and read. Like a writer said below me, they could use more windows. It would be great to be able to see the people passing by outside. Air conditioned. Yes. Great coffee. Absolutely. Loaded with atmosphere. Roger, Dodger. Friendly staff, giant bulletin board, and outdoor seating. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
I walked by this coffee shop for months before a friend brought me in. The best breakfast I've had in the Marigny. It tastes like whoever cooked it actually CARES. Eggs were cooked perfectly and some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. I'm not a turkey bacon person, but my friend lives on it says theirs is top notch. Coffee is really good and half the cost of neighboring places. The atmosphere is really pretty much perfect. Comfortable tables and chairs, the patrons are a snapshot of why the Marigny is my favorite neighborhood and the music is always chill and eclectic. "Garden State" soundtrack? Yes please. Don't let the sometimes less than friendly groups outside scare you off. This place is legit good.
google avatar

Shayna N.

Yelp
One of my favorite neighborhood coffee shops in New Orleans. I used to go there almost every day to sit, drink coffee, smok cigarettes and read for hours and hours. They have great coffee drinks, really good and fresh deli type food, free wireless internet and plenty of neighborhood folk hanging out and shooting the shit. It's a super chill atmosphere with TONS of character. There is smoking inside and in the summer their AC isn't the best. But it's New Orleans so you LOVE IT!
google avatar

Ileana O.

Yelp
Ah, Flora Cafe. This place has some serious pros and some cons. First things first, it is Cash only so make sure you've got some dolla dolla bills (or you can use their ATM). This place always attracts the most funky and interesting folks. It's got a super divey vibe (which is unusual for most coffee shops). The atmosphere is definitely homey but it borders on almost feeling a little run down. It's a very very fine line and they ride it kind of hard. The bathroom is usually a mess and there's writing all over the walls. There isn't A/C as far as I can tell but there are heaters so you are usually pretty set during the 4 weeks of winter we get. The art they have on display though is always the coolest and it's from local artists! The best thing about Flora is the food. Holy smokes. All of their Turkish fare is finger-licking good. Would highly recommend getting their Borek or homemade pastries. Their fresh pressed juice is also tasty and much cheaper than Satsuma. Unfortunately, their coffee/espresso is far from the best in town. It's usually pretty weak, burnt, or old tasting. As a former barista, I tend to be a little critical about coffee. I've worked out of this shop quite a few times and their wifi is free but it's usually kind of wonky. It's not the strongest. Sometimes I have to hop onto Mimi's wifi if I need to get work done and their internet isn't working. I do love to come here to meet w/ friends though or just people watch. There are always folks working on art, knitting, or playing board games. All in all, I still prefer some of the other cafes/coffee shops in the area to work out of, but Flora is a fun and funky spot to catch up with friends especially if you're feeling snacky.
google avatar

Kara L.

Yelp
Friendly, eclectic, and neighborly shop. Struck up a conversation with a local and he became a true ambassador making reccomendations for parks, museums, music, restaurants, and more. Local music plays while Marigny residents file in to have a snack, grab a coffee, read, play Pictionary, or just conversate with a neighbor.
google avatar

Itai H.

Yelp
Such a great surprise! We walked in for a coffee and stayed for the happy hour dishes: great yuca fritta, yummy beef empanada and sweet plantains. We need to come back for a full meal. The serve all three!
google avatar

Jesse A.

Yelp
A funky, friendly meeting place for artists, poets & musicians in the Marigny. Excellent espresso & a budget-friendly menu. What it lacks in tidiness it more than makes up for in authentic Bohemian charm. A great place to meet interesting people and have long conversations while watching the world go by & perhaps petting a stray cat. The owner, Ali, is very welcoming and loves to play backgammon with the regulars.
google avatar

Caesar S.

Yelp
Wonderful local spot with cozy ambiance and solid breakfast. Nice place to hang out and play backgammon, read a book, play some piano, or do some work. A bit crusty, mom and pop, not expensive and vibey.

Robyn B.

Yelp
This place was disgustingly dirty. Mediocre food and coffee. But I can't get over how gross this place was.

Josie P.

Yelp
Perfection! Great chai latte! Excellent breakfast! Beautiful pastries! Vegetarian options! And chili? How could it get any better? Oh yeah, a cute barista, a piano and tons of books! I love this place!
google avatar

Angellé S.

Yelp
I've frequented this swanky little coffee shop several times while meeting up with friends and it's a nice little coffee shop. The inside is pretty funky and I enjoy browsing through around and I appreciate the art in its different mediums on the walls. The location is nice and right in the Marigny district. Happy sipping, folks!
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
A friend and I lucked upon this restaurant/art gallery when we visited New Orleans last fall. The walls are lined with masks handmade by the owner. Music filled the air inside. The food is varied and delicious. Because of dietary issues, I'm not able to eat many foods, but they served a breakfast bowl with potatoes, mushrooms, and spinach that I'm still trying to replicate at home! My friend's meal was delicious, too. You know a place is good when residents stop by to gnosh and chat! And, best of all for two older women on fixed incomes, prices were very reasonable! I'm planning on returning to New Orleans this year and will definitely be stopping again!
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
Love this place, locals hang out, friendly, great coffee. Hubby had omelette I had croissant delish! Thanks Andy!
google avatar

Naomia A.

Yelp
This place is screaming for a phone call to be made to the BOARD OF HEALTH!!!! I can't say enough about how dirty this place IS. Coffee was left after one sip as it was to gritty to drink. Outside the place has an odor that is just overwhelming. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, but the "shoot cops" tattoo on her arm definitely gave a negative impression. I give this place a BIG until they clean up a LOT.
google avatar

Don E.

Yelp
Very cool spot to come and chill by yourself or with a friend, but come for the good times, as the coffee is not very good.
google avatar

Simon B.

Yelp
Local. Comfy. Sans A/C but many shady outdoor seats. Affordable, bring your own cup for tasty fresh envirofriendly rate coffee 1.50 only! Friendly accommodating staff and patrons. No frills kinda place, pet friendly. Recommended.
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
Funky place. The staff could not care less about patron satisfaction or happiness- that is except for the rather tall man serving the coffee and taking orders. He was nice. The décor is shabby without the chic. The staff was too worried about appearing hip and aloof to care about service and forget about a welcoming smile or genuine , connective human feeling. I was served a typical American egg breakfast and my relatives both ate breakfast burritos. All very uninspired and absolutely no better than I prepare at home; although I put some effort into making my plated product pretty. Coffee was good and plentiful on the positive side. The interior itself was drab and frankly dingy and dirty appearing. I felt like tipping them with a can of paint and brush. Anyway with so many fantastic places to eat in NOLa I can't imagine us returning here.

Yelp
Stopped by while walking around Bywater - a cute shop with patrons playing music and decorated masks on walls. We had ice tea, a cappuccino and an iced mocha- all delicious and reasonably priced. Not to be missed!

Yelp
I'm on a drip coffee kick as of late, and Flora doesn't disappoint but didn't impress either. The lineup is displayed right by the register: Colombian, Brazilian, Ethiopian. The coffee is strong, and not excessively bitter. I can't vouch for the espresso or baked goods, but the hot breakfasts were selling like hotcakes while I was there. The inside is definitely hippy-ified to the max. Stained glass, weathered wood, incense for sale. They've got several bikeracks filled with rusted cruisers, vintage Italian road bikes, and your dad's Schwinn converted into a fixie. I think I was a reject because the people hanging outside of the door saw me drive up in a motor vehicle. Flora is right across from Mimis. There is seating for 10+ outside and the people watching is unparalleled. The intersection of Royal and Franklin is filled with eccentric folks at all hours. Even at 10 AM as I'm grabbing my morning cuppa, a 3 piece marching band walked by and asked me for requests as they marched their way to the Quarter to busk. Then a guy wearing a novelty-sized cowboy hat rode by playing a slide whistle. And here walks a guy wearing a full NFL referee outfit. I could keep going, but I'll wrap up my observations by imploring you to come here and enjoy the "Local Flavor."

Yelp
It is a very comfortable place for me to go. I'm very picky about places that I hang out at due to the communication barrier that I experience as a deaf person. Flora's employees are more than friendly when communicating with me. Their breakfast food IS THE BEST! I recommend the breakfast burrito or 3 eggs dish with LAMB MEAT! Their lamb meat is simply out of the world fucking amazing. I also enjoy drinking their iced coffee, it's deliciously cheap! Great place for indie, artists, and down-to-earth people to hang.
